Season 19 of the Multi-Emmy Winning Series Will Premiere this Fall on CBS;

Season 20 Will Air in Spring 2012

CBS has ordered the 20th installment of the seven-time Emmy Award-winning reality series, THE AMAZING RACE, hosted by Phil Keoghan, for broadcast during the 2011-2012 season.

Both of you took the words out of my mouth!

I find the fact that the announcement is even being made this far ahead unusual since I can't recall CBS ever announcing a greenlight this far ahead. Nice to be treated as well as Survivor for a change.

I think the early info may partially be because we already sorta knew this since we had the article on Phil being signed on for several more seasons...

We've been about four cycles behind Survivor since TAR 6 completed airing; and Survivor Outback (their season two) completed airing before TAR ever premiered. (They had Survivor Africa when TAR Classic aired.)

So to be clear -- in the 2011-12 season TAR 19 and 20 will air as will Survivor 23-24.

Unfortunately, The Amazing Race is trending on Twitter - which is making it really hard to search for possible TAR 19 sightings!

My first thought when I saw the news: "What took them so long!?"  :lol:

I've always been kind of annoyed and even a little scared that CBS always hesitates picking up two TARs at a time like they do Survivor.   (:;)

But yay! I hope Bert & Co. plan something special for TAR20.  And I hope they've planned something nice for TAR19 too as the 10th anniversary season.

Awesome news!  :yess:  Please let TAR20 be new racers! I just hope they don't bring back former racers so soon! Love a lot of the racers that we've been lucky enough to watch and get to know...but I would just rather see them again in maybe 5 years time or something...   :lol:

 :lol: It's possible... this time, they can put together a better cast  :inocent: Maybe actually consider pre-TARAS teams.
Hehe... I doubt it though. At most, they might do a Fans vs. Favorites type of thing. 

If not for TAR19, maybe for TAR20, have Switchbacks and call backs to some of the most memorable tasks and locations of the past 19 seasons.

I seriously doubt we'll be seeing any returning Racers that soon. While from a production perspective the cycle may have been a success, the spring ratings numbers were not as high in the demos or total audience as they were for the previous spring edition (TAR 17).
