One thing I noticed that hasn't been mentioned.

Have teams ever driven themselves to the start line before? That does seem to be a first.

My thought was BIG BUS from LA to the Windmills.

Dune buggy drive...then trudge to Phil....

Or is the trudge up the hill on the way to the dune buggies?? ???




But hmmmm...you may be right! I am not a historian but I can't think of any self drives to the start! :jumpy:

I think the dune buggies are after they find the Qantas message, get their ticket from Phil and then drive the dune buggies to whereever the cars are parked.

Cars could be parked 1) back near US62 on the east end of that wind farm or 2) just west of the wind farm across Whitewater Canyon at that sand and gravel business parking lot.

I don't think thats the case. In the first previews a lot of the teams (Most noticably Jamie and Cara) waved to the camera before/after driving. Not exactly in-race behaviour.

EDIT: Also- No backpacks.
