I was very surprised at the lack of social networking activity yesterday. They usually do a pretty good job of hiding the final though and having all the teams running around is going to make a mess of things.

One thought from that info is that ES may have been in South America so the FT/BE sighting does not definitely mean that they were still an active team.

8 teams exited customs and immediately began racing decoy thru Miami airport....some with clues in hand...in MIAMI airport on a busy Monday morning around 930!!
And you are telling me that there is not one tweet or Facebook or blog post about this?? Or.....HORRORS...did no one here look? ???   :cmas5
Come on guys...get busy!!  :hearts:
I spent most of yesterday looking for clues - nothing out there - or it was hidden under tons of TAR17 congratulatory tweets. (Apparently TAR 17 ended on Sunday.)

Oh - did you mean Miami Florida or Miami Ohio?  :cmas5

Miami Florida, wp. I believe they came in on AA930 if that helps. They would have been in the city from about 10am to 6pm roughly.

All the TAR17 finale stuff really clogs it up for sure.

Do you know who the final three is?

And y'all wonder why my inbox is always full?  :cmas30:

You all can STOP emailing and PM'ing me... ""I know you willl tell ME" is not the way to my heart just now.

I am just going to say that we do have a lot of info. And some will NOT be released right now...some MAY be able to be released when we wade thru the data.

But meanwhile...

Did you all even read this??

:welcome3: to TAR 18 FINALE DAY!

ALL 11 teams have arrived into Miami airport from Sao Paulo Brazil.

We were telling you that ALL 11 teams arrived on the same flight.

8 teams exited customs and immediately began racing decoy thru Miami airport....some with clues in hand...in MIAMI airport on a busy Monday morning around 930!!

I think the production team kept in mind that we would start searching twitter and facebook for Miami sightings. After all, we were bound to at least know the end city before teams got there. So what better time to end it then the day after the TAR17 finale. When I went to check twitter, The Amazing Race was a trending topic. I'm sure there is something out there, but to get to it requies digging through millions of "congrats Nat/Kat" tweets.

Me neither.

Brook also mentioned moving to LA days before the Finale, and they did'nt win. (I'm not saying that M/L did'nt win either)

We don't have much information at our disposal now. So let's keep our eyes peeled for those sightings!  :cmas16  :cmas22

Our unknown destination between Switzerland and Brazil could be anywhere in Europe or North Africa making room for a new country.  Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Malta, Algeria and Serbia are the main possibilities.

I don't think so....I think they were just brought in.

Not sure that there was a task in SP either, they could have just driven to the flights?? :duno:

And that hours long flight delay could nave been due to pilot illness....

Yeah now I think about it, it's possible that ES was in SE Asia or Australia. Then a flight to Sao Paulo from Sydney or Auckland.

Yes, it could have been there but why not South America? There are plenty of nice resorts to send them to along the Atlantic coast in Brazil, or to an estancia in Uruguay or Argentina or even to somewhere near Santiago. The 2 places I know for sure that have non-stop flights from Auckland are Santiago and Buenos Aires and from Buenos Aires you can get to Uruguay or Brazil.

My post from yesterday morning at about 1030am confirmed that it had to be AA930 arriving 2 hours and 1 minute late into Miami.

I will restate once again for the record that I believe it was a second leg in Switzerland. I offered Basel, Lucerne, St. Moritz, Bern, and Zermatt as possibilities, although there are many others. The reason I believe this is because Zurich is the most logical airport for teams to make the jump over "the Pond" (aka Atlantic Ocean) to Rio or Sao Paulo although Paris and Lisbon can also claim the same distinction. A cost-sensitive World Race Productions should not have sent teams to another duplicated country and city when they could show off the beauty of Switzerland.

Maybe they chose Elimination Station for Australia or South-East Asia because a majority of the early eliminations took place in that part of the world. We know they were in India until Leg 5, maybe even Leg 6.

It would minimise costs to keep everyone in that part of the world, for example, getting Amanda & Kris a flight from AUS to for example Sao Paulo, getting Mel & Mike a flight from Japan to Sao Paulo, Jaime & Cara a flight from China to Sao Paulo - that would be more expensive than keeping them all in, for example, Australia.

I dunno, I'm just speculating here. :cmas5
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥
