Idea! Maybe they ready Gary (from Gary and Mallory) and pink-haired Vyxsin and somehow distorted that into Gary and Matt lol
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

So, is TAR 18 race is finally over right now?  Because someone who said it's over already but we don't have any news on what final city will it be whether it'll be in the US or for the 1st time on the history of TAR American version, the final city will not be in the US (like Mexico City, Aruba or Toronto)?  Hmmm, that'll be nice! :cmaslol

Also, Anthony Bourdain did a Liberia show this year, and it seemed like it was likely a little too tense there still to film a show like TAR.

At present, there are 3 flights in the air on the way to Miami from Rio.....

1) JJ 8056---340am EST
2) AA 904----417am EST
3) AA 990----506am EST

It would probably be a good idea to monitor Twitter and Facebook for updates as soon as they land.

Do you know that they are headed to Miami? Or is this just speculation?

Hello everyone,  Have been following this Season closely since they started in Australia.

I am hoping that the final three teams will be Zev/Justin, Gary/Mallory and the Cowboys.

They should have the final leg go through Canada or Alaska as they have not been there for a while.

Do we have any info regarding which teams may still be alive to help with Twitter searching?
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥

Won't they currently be at a pitstop in Rio?

If they arrived today, then the answer is yes unless it was an 8 hour pit stop in Rio, which was done in Moscow for AR13 but is not likely to be done again any time soon.

I don't think it is true either. Africa that late in the race doesn't make sense, especially since the Rio info is out there now.

USsoccer, if you look at a map and compute total distance (which I admittedly haven't done), I believe that anything on the west coast of Africa down to about Liberia would be shorter for the two transportation legs (to Africa and to the U.S. East Coast) than the total of going to Rio and then to the U.S. East Coast.

I posted the Miami flights because they will arrive in the US, the earliest. Here are some other Rio to US flights, arriving this morning on the East Coast.....

4) Atlanta--DL60...arriving ~530am EST

5) Charlotte --AW801 (US Airways) ~602am EST

6) NYC
     JJ 8058-- arriving ~520am EST
     AA 256-- arriving ~ 629am EST

I do not know if any teams are on any of these flights.....we have had NO sightings in Rio...which I dont expect to have....Its just a heads up to anyone that would like to follow Twitter and Facebook after the planes arrive in the US.

Considering how 16 was essentially decided by who got through customs quickest, I wonder if we might see a finale in a non-direct from Rio city like Tampa or Philadelphia just to shake things up.

Radar Online, the site that listed the Amazing Race 18 article.  I saw its home website and its nothing more than fake news/tabloids.

Whether Miami is the End City or if, as you suggest, connect on to other cities, they will still have to clear Immigration/Customs at MIA, then go back upstairs and pass through Security again, to reach the gates to any connecting cities from there.

Regarding Venezuela: Production might not let teams travel in Caracas due to safety reasons, but how about a leg in the Canaima National Park like in TARLA2? Or would it still be considered too dangerous?

Good question?? I think it might be safe, its mainly a tourist area with nearby Angel Falls.

I'm still surprised by the huge jump from Europe to S. America. Then again, the producers did Australia to Japan...

I have no actual knowledge, but I will say that I've been waiting for a Race to end with teams coming up from South America. It also opens a lot of US cities up to be the final destination city more easily than flights from Asia or Europe.

I agree with the person over in the other thread RIO means Race is Over.
You are a wise one. :funny:

Is that :colealert: ? Because the race was supposed to be over today.

That depends doesn't it? If you want to believe other sites, then feel free. If you want to believe RFF...then no. The race is NOT over today. Watch Rio de Janierio.

Have fun!
Really?  This must be a first to go to South America last.

I believe it is.
Physics alone is not enough.

Those who forget history are sure to repeat it.
