I would enjoy seeing them visit Scotland and Ireland instead of visiting Russia and Germany almost every season.

Perhaps.

Scotland seems like a good place to go to. Does anyone remember the last time TAR went there?

Gosh. I wish! If they came to Scotland (especially Glasgow) I would follow them as much as I could. I can't drive though and I bet if they came here they would have to drive everywhere.

From the amount of time they were on their previous race, Amanda and Kris appeared to me to be a very competent, capable team. The Blind U-Turn did them no favors, because while they did that other detour task as efficiently as they could, there was no way they were going to be able to luck out and avoid elimination.
I think we'll find that they are still a competent, capable team this time around. I think overall, this is actually a more competent cast than TAR 11, even though there are no winners on it; I have to go back and check how many final three teams were on All-Stars versus this season.

Per DrRox, it does sound like a rolling Pit Stop as we thought, eh? It depends on whether teams are being filmed in Sydney Terminal...

I'll go look at flights for a little while. Having teams pre-booked on one single flight looks strange to me.

The Cartoon Network is showing "The School of Rock" right now, 630PM-9PM Eastern Time, for those of you who haven't seen one of Mike White's movies.

I think something along the lines of Hamburg to France in TAR 16.....not like the Cai Be moving pit stop in TAR 15.

My question is......why are you calling this an All Star season.......CBS hasn't called it that. You obviously have found the difference in team rankings.........

Around here most have tried to say with what we heard a long time ago.....it was going to be a 2nd Chance Redemption season, made up of teams that had something to proove the 2nd time around..........thats what it looks like to me anyway.....not a single season winner in the bunch.

Neobie.......

It really does make sense to have teams on both flight plans.........with a scheduled 15 difference minutes in arrival time......they will all basically run out of Narita.....or take the train of of Narita at same time. I thought maybe they might send crew on the earlier flight....but since they get there at basically the same time......that doesnt make much sense.....lol

My friend told me the teams she saw on train station

Which train station...the arriving teams or the departing teams on the train to the airport?

So, the first leg was in Australia and the second one is probably in Japan. Maybe since TAR18 is HD they'll stick to "first world" countries to avoid risking the equipment? ???
The story so far:

This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

According to this tweet the next stop is Japan, according to the team he helped:

Only if the flight is going to Japan, doesn't mean they are going there for a leg, they could be traveling to the next destination via Japan.

So, why were Margie and Luke and Mel and Mike one of the last few teams to leave the station? Was the station the pitstart?

Transfering via Japan is no way direct (since S. Korea is out of the picture). For almost all other countries, I'd travel via Hong Kong.

That is not a Qantas ticket counter, it is Cathy Pacific.........Neobie strikes again......lol

It is approx 1:30pm in Sydney, plenty of time to make the 3:00 pm departure.

This tweet seems to confirm Japan.

@mikey_pants Photos of the Amazing Race contestants heading for the airport. Next stop, Japan http://post.ly/1ExqT

He apparently helped a team to the airport on the train.

We have seen teams at check in. Would you be able to checkin on a flight leaving in 8hours time??

Yes, you can... however, everyone is assuming they are on QF21 departing 2230 that gets to NRT (assuming Tokyo is next) by 0615 tomorrow.
CX via HKG to NRT leaves about 1540 gets in at 0600.

And the report above that one borrowed a phone for 'flight info' to get on a 4pm flight... sounds like they are on CX100 to HKG at 1540 with a connector in HKG on to Japan.
