One of the Rex charter flights is coming back to Sydney, this will most likely to be empty. The other will likely be used on a scheduled flight.

I cannot find any more charter flights from Broken Hill either today or tomorrow. Rex are the only airline that flies to Broken Hill to Sydney, Adelaide and Dubbo (another regional town).

Therefore, unless they go on one of the limited scheduled flights, I cannot see them using Broken Hill airport again, so maybe a long self drive in a car or a train to their next destination.

All teams should definitely be racing around Broken Hill area by now.

Well they usually don't give out prizes on TBC legs.

The main new tidbit I saw was someone who works at Sydney airport saying they helped out a film crew from Los Angeles on Saturday (3 days ago) that was trying to film plane arrivals for QANTAS (so they claimed). He said they didn't seem to know how to go about finding good locations, which he thought was strange.

Hi,
Just think i'll add to this a little since you guys found this thread. This was actually me who met these guys. First of all, I don't work at Sydney Airport, Im just a keen aviation photographer.
Purely from an Aviation point of view,if you were working and doing a shoot for Qantas, surely they would have told the guys where the best spots were. There were 3 guys together, 2 Americans and an Aussie - The aussie guy was driving. The claim that they were looking for good landing and departing shots, but then saw them filming pretty much anything that came in - Qantas/Jetstar/Virgin Blue and Internationals.
The vehicle also had some cards and id's on which were a tad strange for just a crew filming for Qantas, and that they had no approval to be on airport premesis... Just didn't add up!

Looking through my copy of Lonely Planet. Looks like some of these might be in order:
Broken Hill Base, working Royal Flying Doctor Service base
School of the Air, where "tourists are expected to be at the School by 8.15am"
Golf or underground mines (Delprat's Mine or Daydream Mine), as in TAR 2

Broken Hill Base doesn't look like it's going to happen.
Delprat's Mine is apparently closed (permanently).
But Daydream Mine is looking pretty promising!

teams came past of front of SCHOOL OF ROCK.

Gray and Mallory in the lead at 1255.

Whether it's deliberate or coincidental, I think it's cool that teams pass by a place with the same name as the movie that Mike wrote.

Thanks for the follow up. It certainly does sound like the Amazing Race cameramen. I'm slightly surprised they didn't ask for permission to film but I guess keeping the race a secret won out. They probably just figured they needed 10 second clips of take offs and landings so it didn't have to be the perfect shot.

I seem to have ruffled a few feathers with my comment about the joke about sending the bags to Perth. I'm not going to register over on that forum just to reply, but you can tell them that I took it as a joke and chuckled. It would have been a funny prank to play on the TAR production crew (they probably wouldn't have found it funny), but I knew it wasn't serious.

Adelaide is the closest large city.

And now we know why there are no TAR 13 teams on this race. The producers didn't them embargoes them again after they had to run through Kazakhstan as cows.

There haven't been that many recent sightings and I can't remember one mentioning the cowboys. They're my favourite team lol.

Oddly enough, a photo was posted in the Live Sightings thread, just before this line of conversation showing Jet and Cord at the location all the teams spent overnight waiting to go take the charter flights out of Sydney; and there was a photo posted earlier showing them with Phil at the mat for the TBC clue.

I can't see an appropriate thread for this, so:

What is a zero-hour pitstop? I mean, had we had one before? What's it's difference with TBC?
