What was the rules? Did you have to say the word you were trying to spell or just spell the longest word. I ask because Jeff spelled tectronics, and if you google it, it is a word used by NASA! If you just had to spell the longest word correctly, then Jeff won the veto!

blondie did he have it spelled that way? he said something about missing an h? hmmmm....now I want to see the show again to see what he actually had spelled out. I was paying more attention to the fact that he said he was missing the h. the way you have it spelled it without the h so maybe he did have the longest word. Did he get gypped because BB wasn't really paying attention?

I just replayed that part of the show and I believe (there is some gross goopy stuff all over some of the letters) that he spelled it correctly. Hmmm....

I could be wrong, but I really doubt that the rules would state that the player would have to know the definition of the word they were spelling. If so, defining the word would have been part of the competition, right?

I posted at CBS and got two responses so far:

I get what you're saying here..and I've looked it up myself..but you get credit for what you SAY you're trying to spell. Chima had "super" spelled correctly and didn't get credit for it either. He lost this one....it's amazing that he lost it to "shotgun"..but that's what happened.

Jeff was trying to spell "technotronics", not "tectronics". He didn't spell either one correctly, either.
By the way, Technotronic was a DJ-dance group in the late 80's. Remember "Pump Up the Jam"? So technotronics is two DJ dancebands!

Okay I just rewatched the show. It did not say that you had to SAY what you spelled. Also it was said if Chima just had spelled super she would have been in the lead. Therefore since Jeff spelled tectronics fully and not any other letters, he did win!

yes as of right now but Jeff and Jordan are working the other hgs to keep him. I don't think he will make it though, but I would love to be surprised.

There was no set word in the Veto competition. You had ten minutes to spell the longest word you could. It didn't matter how many letters it was. It had to be spelled correctly.

Chima wanted "superficiality" or something like that. Didn't happen.

Jeff said he wanted "technotronics". Which is not the tectronics he had on his board. He wanted this as his word. Names of music groups, I don't think, are allowed.

A big HUG and happy dance to all of you die hard posters out there. I, for one, appreciate all of your hard work. This year, especially, you have your hands full - this is the biggest group of boobs (and not the laura and jordan type) that we have had in awhile! Where the heck did CBS find these people - and who the heck thought bringing back Jesse would be a good idea? Talk about a total brain fart!

I have seen better styled garments at Wal*Mart for Pete's sake. They just get worse season after season. They are not bad people - just completely devoid of any fashion sense - or any sense at all for that matter.
