just pulled into fort morgan. long ride today. winds were almost pushing us off the road. such different terrain vs. past week - very flat

joined today by friends Joanne and Jeff - both decorated cyclists. great to have such seasoned riders on this great adventure with me.

even on Easter, locals of ft. morgan, CO came out for the start. heading to Wray. mayor darnell and police escort took us out of town.

just blew 8th tire of the trip about 15 miles outside of ft. morgan - changing and getting back on the road.

sorry no tweet last night. no internet access. got into Wray, CO yesterday afternoon. tougher ride than expected.

great ride today. not much wind. great conditions. just pulled into McCook. Pastor Johnny Walker made some dinner resv for us.

arrived in Sutton. brutal ride today. wind was relentess. special thanks to local firefighter, Bruce Sandahl, who rode with me for 20 miles.

Then at 7:50 p.m.

Another long day in the saddle, so grateful to Trek Travel 4 taking good care of us, leading us down safe road, avoiding busy interstates

Finally at 8:18 p.m.

Come to think of it, I'd literally be lost without Trek Travel.

"Great news. Just got the call from the Network. CBS has ordered another season of The Amazing Race."

So far, just one season, but we'll find out if this means two seasons at the upfronts.

Went to the doctor to get hydrated, forfeited a night's sleep for a boost of saline. It's been a tough few days but feel a lot better now!

good start in Atlantic, Iowa this AM. about 90 mls to Des Moines today. group of local des moines cyclists meeting us at halfway point.

Let's give you the first four days of Phil's Ride Across America!

Day 1 as he leaves Los Angeles. He's looking fresh, rested and ready!



Day 2, Phil arrives in Baker, CA.



Day 3, Phil gets a police escort on I-15 for 15 miles during the morning commute.



Day 4, Phil goes from Las Vegas, NV to Caliente, NV

Day 5, Phil heads to Cedar City, UT



Day 6, Phil gets a nice sendoff and arrives in Kanab, UT.



Day 7, fatigue is beginning to set in and Phil's dad loves the Tumbleweed. Phil heads to Page, AZ.



Day 8, Phil is in snowy Kayenta, AZ. Phil gets two flats on the way.



Day 9, Phil is tired and leaves Arizona and heads into Cortez, CO. It seemed Phil was in Colorado for a month.



Day 10, Phil hits the 1,000 mile mark, heads to Pagosa Springs, CO and goes live on the Bonnie Hunt Show.
