Oh Neobie! they are all wonderful!

I'm sorry for the delay y'all,  :-[ :-[ :-[

I have a computer virus, can't use PBucket to upload, computer shutting off every 2 secs so I am behind. Thanks to puddin's help I'll catch up soon though, and yes the computer is getting deep cleaned later this week I think...

Neobie's map of Locarno to Verzasca is very good. To supplement it with a larger view of the canton of Ticino, see:

Ticino Canton Map

I found this while determining the distance from downtown Locarno to Verzasca Dam, which is no more than 10 km. A trip on a Sunday morning in November should not take more than 15 minutes.

Great maps, Neobie. Gives us some proper perspective on how far the racers had to drive. I also like how you chronicled where LaKisha and Jen went.

I can't figure out where the "Gypsy" task took place. It's nearer to Brasov than the other option is, but where is it?

(Pit Stop and Bran Castle courtesy of Chateau. Romania's GE is a bitch.)

Edited: Tammy/Victor went at least as far as the meadow. Ooh that's far!

Neobie,
I can help you. The distance from the gypsy camp to the pit stop is probably about teh same distance as from Bran Castle (the Vampite Remains DETOUR) was to Vila Panoramic. That would be about 2 miles but I cannot tell you in what direction.

Gypsies are all over Transylvania. Tour guides can and do point out as you drive by in a bus many gypsy shacks that are close to other housing along the roads. Remember that this is a  fake gypsy village, so it will have been placed to facliitate teams getting to the pit stop after compleing the Gypsy Moves DETOUR. I say just put it on your map near Bran. Any direction except on an elevation will do.

Looking at Tammy/Victor's path, that must have taken at least a couple of hours to go that far off course. You think how far Linda strayed in Germany, it must have been something similar and Tammy & Victor went all uphill. Had Brad & Victoria stayed with the 9:30 p.m. pack in Munich, they could have easily eliminated the siblings while Tammy & Victor kept going off course.

I wonder if Phil would have had to walk into the woods to eliminate Tammy & Victor had Brad & Victoria not been stranded in Amsterdam.  :groan: :groan: :groan:

We're going to have to start our Questions for the Racers thread soon. One question I want answered, how far did Tammy & Victor walk and how long did it take before they finally turned around? Was it two, three or four hours? It was still daylight when they hit the mat in 8th.

TVGuide.com: You two finished in the dark. Do you know how far behind Tammy and Victor you were?
Brad: We were told six hours.

Nothing special this week. Can't find very reliable locations within the Detour town; Ovsyanka translates into "oatmeal" and that's all I get when I look for maps!

I have solved the "where is Dhula Village" challenge. It is due east of the word Jaipur on this area map:

Phuket. Got a four-month headstart on this one.

Interesting observations:
1. Everyone went to Patong at the beginning, and not just Mel/Mike.
2. The rickshaw temple was two minutes walk from the herbal shop.

A site with annotated maps and photos of Bangkok attractions and walking tours. I've been using it (and other sites) to try spotting the distinctive streetlamps at the taxi stand; no luck so far.
