Yes, I believe that is the one Thailand/Chiang Mai pitstop.

I've attached a kmz for the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek; at the time the images were taken, the site still looks under construction. If you enable Panoramio, you can see some paving that looks similar, but no diamonds.

Would anyone be able to dig up photos of the Chiang Mai Provincial Juvenile Court or the Chiang Mai District Court?

The extended shelter looks like a bus bay to me, and the round roofing at the corner fits that of the Chiang Mai Arcade bus station. If only we can confirm those orange-roofed buildings behind... (They're under construction in Google Maps.)

Is it possible that teams only get their clue where to head in Chiang Mai only on arrival from Bangkok - and that's why we see multiple teams ripping clues here together? (Vince/Sam with AD/Faeza, Niroo/Kapil with Natalie/Pailin... Wait, are the darkness shots the same place?)

ETA: equals ?

Thanks Neobie!! Those buildings have been driving me nuts!

I believe teams travel by bus from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, so a find a XXXX once there and collect your clue certainly works!!

Off to look for some more pics but I think you have it.

Then we know for sure they go to the X-center from the personal communication we had from the local reporter.

Got it!

Quote
There is stiff competition among bus companies for the Bangkok to Chiang Mai bus route and buses leave hourly. Buses from Chiang Mai to Bangkok leave hourly from the Arcade Bus terminal, east of the city, between 6:30 and 21:00.

Buses from Bangkok to Chiang Mai depart at least every hour between 05:30 and 22:00 from Mo Chit Station and take roughly 10 hours. We recommend VIP buses (fare 400 - 600 baht), offered by either the government or private companies. These can also be arranged from travel agents on Khao San Road, with a pick up there, and at other points

Y'all are confusing me here   Here is the way I see it...

I think we may have to call this one extended leg--I am not sure we have time for two pitstops in Thailand?

OK, I'll go with the extended leg theory. It makes more sense.  :jumpy:

The editors thought that since it's only one leg, it's OK to give out a lot of clips for the 2nd day.
I doubt if they'll give us anything for the 2nd leg so early at this stage.

Oh good. I think it terms of filming, it will turn out to be one leg with one Pitstop. I expect that for the racers, it was presented as a TBC though, and it is quite possible we could see this aired over two weeks.

That would sort of live up to the TARA "tradition" of having no elimination right at first, without really having an actual NEL episode. It would also let AXN give viewers some extra time to get to know all the racers before one team is eliminated in this leg. And it fits with the press on the "toughest" race ever.

I do know that the next leg starts with only 9 racers and is also an elimination leg.

Yes, I asked a Thai friend and she said the building looks like the Juvenile Court.

She said these are the buses from Mor-chit station in Bangkok to Chiang Mai:  Sa-ha Charn Tour, Charn Tour, Nakorn Chai Air, Piriya Tour, Sombat Tour, Siam First Tour, Indra Tour, Thun-chit Tour, Porn Piriya Tour

Can we group the teams into arrival/bus groups?

In this shot, we can see Niroo (India) stands next to A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore). Niroo is wearing a yellow tank.

Sam & Vince (Hong Kong). Kapil & Niroo (India) are in the background at a bus stop in Chiang Mai.
A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore) catch up to Sam & Vince (Hong Kong)

Now Natalie & Pailin (Thailand) are right behind Kapil & Niroo (India) at the same bus stop.

Therefore, Kapil & Niroo (India), Natalie & Pailin (Thailand), A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore), Sam & Vince (Hong Kong) are on the same bus.
I guess this is the last bus.

Earlier we saw Kapil & Niroo (India), A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore), Geoff & Tisha (Philippines), Ida & Tania (Malaysia), Sam & Vince (Hong Kong) at the bug eating task.
So maybe Geoff & Tisha (Philippines), Ida & Tania (Malaysia) are on the last bus too.

A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore), Geoff & Tisha (Philippines), and Sam & Vince (Hong Kong) are the only team that didn't get a chance to change their clothes. Therefore they should be on the last bus.

Since Ida & Tania (Malaysia), Geoff and Trisha (Philippines), A.D. & Fuzzie (Singapore) were spotted in another country.

It's a battle between
Kapil & Niroo (India), Natalie & Pailin (Thailand), Sam & Vince (Hong Kong).

Nice banzai!!

I am going to change my mind about the grass mowing task though...

I wonder if it might not be a rice picking task instead? ???

According to this map (2 mb file), the diamond place is Ratchaphruek square. Haven't found one-tree-hill yet. Also fwiw, the map that Peach found works well with all of Thailand.

This clue box doesn't have any yellow plastic bag

But this clue box has some yellow plastic bags

William or Isaac (South Korea) is holding a plastic bag and is looking for something. It's not a yellow envelope.

Thanks Slowhatch! One-tree-hill () should be right inside the main entrance. When the exhibition was on, there was a whirly gig type metal decorative umbrella there...
