Twist Idea: The Red Light Card.

It is either awarded to the team that gets first in the first leg instead of an express pass or like the express pass in the American TAR Season 25, an optional side task that the first team to complete will earn. The  team that earns that card can use it at any detour where there is not a u-turn ahead. (maybe it says specifically on the teams route info at a start of the leg if they can use it or not). When the team arrives at the marked box or they are handed with the clue that has the detour options, they can play/write on the red light card: the team of their choosing and the detour option. That team is now not allowed to do that detour option and can only do the other.

Example in use
Team A completes a bonus task in Leg 1 and get the Redlight card
During Leg 4, they reach the clue box and when they look at their clue, it is a detour option. One task is more strength and the other is more mental.
Team A writes down Team B's names on the red light card AND the detour option they think that Team B would excel at, the mental option.
When Team B arrives at the clue box, they discover that they can only do the strength option of the detour options
PS I: If Team B has already passed the box, they can not be impacted by the red light card, even if they switch detours
PS II: If a person hands the detour clue, they will also hand the red light card.
PS III: A red light card can not be assigned once the team with the card arrives at their own detour choice as to make things fair for the game.

What do you peeps think? Is there potential? Could it be a better Yield system?
I think that it would just be easier and a simpler option to just have a One Way, but still cool concept.

Isn't that basically One Way from TAR Canada season 7?

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but what if every team is given one Express Pass to use at any task (except at the FF, and maybe at a Head-to-Head that is placed right in front of the pit stop)?

There should be some kind of downside to using the Express Pass. My fear with that is what if leg 2, one team uses their express pass, and then every other team in leg 3 uses their express passes on a roadblock, thus screwing over the team mentioned in leg two. Maybe like the next leg after they use their express pass, they have to do a speed bump? Something to balance the express pass and make teams genuinely debate if they should use it or limit its uses further like not being able to use them on detours with U-turn boards.

Now for place suggestions, I'd love to have a leg in Swaziland, even if it's like Botswana on the first season of the show where teams can choose to do a detour that takes them into that country while the rest of the leg is primarily in South Africa.

The first point you mentioned is quite interesting. I did not think about that. However, the EP is not a guarantee against finishing last, so the likelihood of that happening is low, unless the task is seriously difficult.

Two things to add to my wishlist

1. Scrap 1st leg eliminations. Let them race for at least 2 legs. For TAR33, the first London leg should have been a NEL or a KOR with sign-up sheets for the first task of Leg 2.
2. Scrap start line eliminations. Teams that finish last should either have a Speed Bump/Hazard (why even create a new term for something that's essentially the same) to complete or mark them for elimination on the first elimination leg.

Given the, uh, interesting, circumstances in which we live, here's my vaguely realistic take on TAR34-

START - Palm Springs, CA
LEG 1 - Galapagos Is., Ecuador
LEG 2 - Cuenca, Ecuador
LEG 3 - Halifax, Canada
LEG 4 - Magdalen Is., Canada
LEG 5 - Dublin, Ireland
LEG 6 - Toulouse, France
LEG 7 - Ondino, Andorra
LEG 8 - Barcelona, Spain
LEG 9 - Santa Maria, Cape Verde
LEG 10 - Praia, Cape Verde
LEG 11A/11B - Boston, MA / Berkshires region, MA

Most of these countries have relatively low infection and/or high vaccination rates and less restrictive conditions for entry  The multiple new countries wasn't intentional but it worked out I suppose  :jam:

Hybrid teams that I don't mind seeing on the race

- Christina and Azaria -> Met on TAR12 and are now married.
- Brendon and Elissa -> Brother-in-law / Sister-in-law (Perhaps they would be more liked if Rachel is out of the picture)
- TAR29 Logan dated another cast member from that season, so maybe the two of them together

I have a question for people in this thread since there hasn't been much posted in a while.

What is somewhere that you think would be a great START LINE or FINISH LINE within the United States? Not just the city but the specific landmark.

Any wishes for starts or finishes??

Super biased but I'll go for an old favourite of mine for a dream finish line: Warren G Magnuson park in Seattle. Lots of big open spaces for those wide angles, overlooking Lake Washington with Mt Rainier looming in the background.

My dream finish is teams going to Washington DC and eventually being told to either run across Key Bridge or kayak to Theodore Roosevelt Island:jam:

I'm also surprised there has not yet been a start OR finish at La Brea.

A potential more realistic TAR34 route

START - you know where
LEG 1 - Guadalajara, Mexico
LEG 2 - Tequila, Mexico
LEG 3 - Alajeula and Cartago, Costa Rica
LEG 4 - Samana Bay, Dominican Republic
LEG 5 - Akureyi, Iceland
LEG 6 - Myvatn, Iceland
LEG 7 - Lake Bled, Slovenia
LEG 8 - Postojna, Slovenia
LEG 9 - Petra National Park, Jordan
LEG 10 - Madaba, Jordan
LEG 11 - Gibraltar, UK
LEG 12 - Niagara Falls, NY

Many of those double legs can be combined into single legs if they insist on 11 leg seasons from now on  :duno: 3/7 new countries (4 if you count Gibraltar as 'new') was unintentional but these are literally the only countries open without restrictions (and Gibraltar) right now so

Guys, there are better odds of Survivor filming in Chernobyl than that of the Amazing Race visiting China in the near future.

I'd love to see the teams to go to The Gambia. It's one of safest countries on the African continent and the culture is so interesting. Idk I just always love seeing legs in Africa (When Kendra or a similar type of contestant isn't competing there). Growing up, my high school often overlooked the history and culture of Africa except for ancient Egypt, which is a shame since the cultures and histories of Africa are so diverse and interesting.

Banjul would've been a cool place to visit sometime during the twenties' seasons if there hadn't been the Ebola outbteaks of the mid-2010s.
