Update Trace Adkins Trump Sent The Wrong Message To Young People In America

The live version of “You’re Gonna Miss This” that Trace Adkins performed on the finale of The Celebrity Apprentice is, as of tonight, the eighth-most popular song on iTunes. That’s significant because downloads from “between March 27 and April 10, 2008 will support the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network,” according to its web site.

Meanwhile, Trace appeared on the radio today, and, for the first time I’ve seen since the finale, challenged Donald Trump’s decision to “hire” Piers Morgan instead of him. “With all due respect to Mr. Trump, you know, I think the decision he made sent the wrong message to young people in America. I mean, you know, I think the message he sent was just make the most money; it doesn’t really matter how you go about it or how you conduct yourself or who you stomp on in the process, just as long as you come out on top, you know, as far as your windfall profits, and I just, I still feel that that was the wrong decision,” Trace told Glenn Beck.

Beck admitted having not watched the actual show so instead focused mostly on Donald Trump’s hair, which Trace admitted he was fascinated by. “Trump saw that I was staring at his hair. So he pulled on it to show me that it was real,” he said. “I mean, it is a marvel. You just stand there and you look at it and you try to — you know, you try to see, you know, where it’s pinned on or whatever and you just, you can’t find it, you know. And I looked. … It’s one of those mysteries that we’ll just never know the truth about it, I’m afraid, you know? And I’ve looked closely. I couldn’t figure it out, either.”

Trace also demonstrated his dry, amusing wit; when the show had audio problems, Trace said, “This is professional radio right here. … Maybe when Rush gets through with that board he is using now, you guys can borrow it.”

On a side note Rudy did you watch Hell's Kitchen because you said you were willing to try watch it.
I watched the first 15min or so and didn't like it well enough to continue.  Just not my "cup o' tea", sorry ca bb fan.  I don't like cooking anyway!  :groan:
That's the last thing I enjoy doing.

I went back and listed the elimination order of the contestants. Here it is:

1 Tifani
2 Nadia
3 Gene
4 Jennie
5 Vincent
6 Nely
7 Marilu
8 Tito
9 Omarosa
10 Stephen
11 Lennox
12 Carol
13 Trace

with Piers named the Celebrity Apprentice.

When you look at that list, Gene Simmons going out so early was a surprise(but explainable by his inexplicable behavior in not bringing Nely to the Boardroom). Marilu was a surprise that she did not last several episodes longer, but her volubility and inability to listen to the customer did her in. Lennox and Carol were positive surprises, both doing much better than I would have predicted at the outset. Trace was no surprise after the first episode, but a major reality television commentator issued a prediction that Trace would finish dead last before the season began. Trace really showed that individual! Anyone who watches America's Got Talent should not be surprised that Piers Morgan won due to the sharpness of his intellect.

NBC has announced that Celebrity Apprentice 2 will be shown in February 2009 on Thursdays in the 10pm time slot. They have also committed to a Celebrity Apprentice 3 in 2010, but obviously its existence will depend on the ratings for CA2.

:-* hey RudyRules you might be happy to see some more of Trace on tv

Country Singer Adkins to Hit Daytime TV

After getting fired by Donald Trump on "The Celebrity Apprentice," country singer Trace Adkins is turning to the make-believe world of daytime television.

Adkins will sing his latest hit, "You're Gonna Miss This," from his CD "American Man, Greatest Hits Vol. II" on the May 2 episode of CBS' "The Young and the Restless."

"It was a blast," Adkins told The Associated Press after taping the show Wednesday. "I've not recently watched the show. My first wife was really into it. That's not what caused us to get divorced."

The thrice-married Adkins plays someone other than himself in "Trailer Park of Terror," to be shown this month at the Nashville Film Festival. He also just finished shooting a part in the independent Christmas comedy "American Carol," opposite Kelsey Grammar.

"I'd like to do some more of the acting stuff," he said. "I'm at a point in my life and my career - I'm at such a beautiful place - if something doesn't sound like fun to me I probably won't do it. It's a luxury to pick and choose the projects you want to be part of."

Adkins lost out to former British tabloid editor Piers Morgan on NBC's reality show. He sold more tickets to a charity event during the final task, but Morgan raised the most money.

"I had the popular vote and Piers had the money. It was Trump's decision and he placed more importance on the money," he said. "I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm getting recognized a lot more these days. I've had a few people that have told me they've started listening to country music because of my appearance on that show."

Adkins has three nominations for the Country Music Television awards in Nashville on Monday night.

Yeah!  Love his singing too!  I wish he'd have a concert in my area.  Maybe the State Fair?  Wow, how awesome would that be! :wohoo:

:<3 I think Trace Adkins read your post RudyRules, only I don't know if this fair is in your area

ZZ Top possibly out for fair; Trace Adkins on list

ZZ Top’s Aug. 10 performance at the Illinois State Fair no longer is listed on either the band’s official site or Pollstar, a concert-industry Web site.

Since February, the band had been listed as performing Aug. 10 at the fairgrounds, presumably as a Grandstand act.
It’s not clear if the concert has been canceled.

Fair spokesman Jeff Squibb said Thursday that until agreements are made and contracts signed, the appearance of any artist can’t be confirmed.

In other state fair concert news, country singer Trace Adkins has popped up on Pollstar as performing Sunday, Aug. 17 — the final night of the 2008 Illinois State Fair. Adkins’ concert likely would be a Grandstand performance as well.

Adkins last performed locally to an estimated crowd of more than 10,000 at the 2006 Sangamon County Fair. That concert came hot on the heels of Adkins’ “Songs About Me,” an album that went double platinum behind the hit “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.”

Just two months later, Adkins released “Dangerous Man,” a gold-selling album with the hits “Swing” and “Ladies Love Country Boys.” Currently, “You’re Gonna Miss This” — a new track from Adkins’ “American Man: Greatest Hits Vol. II” — is Billboard’s No. 1 country single.

Adkins will perform “Miss This” on a May 2 episode of CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” the latest in a round of acting appearances. Adkins appears in the film “Trailer Park of Terror” and will play the Ghost of Christmas Future in “American Carol,” a comedy scheduled for release in December.

He’s also dabbled in publishing and TV appearances. Late last year, Adkins wrote “A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Free-Thinking Roughneck.” And earlier this year, Adkins was the runner-up on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” which saw celebrities entering Donald Trump’s competition to raise money for charities.

I find Trace's schedule instructive as to where his managers think his musical appeal lies - mostly in the Heartland. His only appearances in the northeast are in Verona NY(you've heard of it surely, a tiny town near Utica and Rome) and in Frederick MD. He is not coming to the 6 New England states, to where almost all the people live in New York, to New Jersey, to Pennsylvania, or to Delaware.

I sooo agree apskip.

Honestly I have not even heard of Trace prior to his appearance on The Celebrity Apprentice nor am I a fan of country music.

Although his songs are nice, just not for me.
