Searching Arusha it might as well be Stonetown as it all looks the same, lol.

This is the only evidence of, Stonetown fo' sure looks like the Fort to me.

This looks like they are leaving the Old Fort Pit Stop area (note battlement in right background.  If C and J arrived shortly after sundown, then this would match being shortly before sunrise.

We're lost too  ??? best guesses are either the Arusha area or back on the island (Zanzibar). The sign on the opposite building or these signs might help, but I can't read them.

No  :lol: I mean what promo/preview? I can only find the first one in Poland with poor Charla being flattened by the horse--clearly there is another one but I can't find it--Help please! :lol:

And I just left that site puddin--I want to go "Into Africa" some more--I'm not ready to leave yet....

But since we have zero evidence of any tasks in Africa it is hard to make a case for a whole leg there--unless there is more on y'alls  "secret" promo---I may just have to stay lost... :lol:

There are many forest locations near Warsaw.

One good bet might be Czersk, a former capial of the Mazovian Region unil 1413 when Warsaw became the capital.  The village includes the ruins of a medieval castle dating from the 14th and 16th centuries.

Other castles and palaces are located in Jablobba, Nieborow, and Opinogora.

Jablonna - The palace is set in a park and had an unusual tower with a sperical roof.  Special events are held in the park and palace.

Nieborow - Designed in the Baroque style and is set in a symmetrical garden.

Opinogora - A small neo-gothic palace set in and landscaped park. The park contains a church built in 1885 in the neo-classical style

All are within 50 to 60 miles from Warsaw.

Just saw one of the videos showing the teams relaxing on the beach in Zanzibar and dining together at the hotel/club.  If this is true then for planning purposes the pit stop must last either 36 or 48 hours.  Since all six teams are shown togethr including Charla and Mirna who had at least a 14 to 15 hour lead over Bill and Joe if the stop was only 12 hours, then they would have been gone before Bill and Joe arrived.

What do you all think of these 2 buildings maybe being the same?

The view with the van isn't the same angle as the one in black and white next to the fort--but I think it could be around the corner--and they wouldn't be far from the fort??

But maybe the overhangs aren't deep enough--but at least the architecture is similar...

I really think that all the van pics are still in Zanzibar--and the mountain maybe? Sorry--I think it is a cloud.

I've been in Arusha--and I don't remember it looking like the van pics...

How come we can't positively place the mat at the Palace on the Water?  It really should be there considering the confessionals inside the palace.

When I look at the place it is 98 % trees!   :groan:

I can't find the place in the previews.    :(

I spent the night looking at some 104 pix of castles in Poland.  Nothing seems to come anywheres near what we see in the Knights-to-be sequence.  So it may not be a castle or palace at all; maybe a monestary, or just some old non-descript building in a forsest.  Also could be in the Krakow area.

OR, and we haven't thought of this yet; it might be somewhere on the way to Poland such as the Czech Republic.

I think this is a match!

Building the Cha's run by and this one:

Quote
Park łazienkowski, widoczny pawilon zachodni i zwieńczenie pałacu Na Wodzie, Warszawa

Definitely in the park--looking for the place.....

Polish translations:
widoczny=Results: WIDOCZNY

 EYESHOT: WITHIN EYESHOT, VISIBLE, PROMINENT, OUTWARD, PRONOUNCED, APPARENT, EVIDENT, NOTICEABLE

zachodni=westerly, western, occidental

Thanks for any help but I've looked all through that but it doesn't show this view by name--unless this is attached here to the star kordegarda??

Guess it isn't called "widoczny Pavilion"  :lol:  the English ID just says Lazienki Park

Darn, you gave me away, Puddin, now I'll have to disconnect my phone and close down my email sites!!!

Good find on the Palace on the Water; none of my pix were from that angle.  From my map of Lazienki Park, it looks like that the pit stop mat is on a wider open path and grassy area that is just off the path from the Palace on the Water towards the building known as The White House.  Before you get to the White House there is another unnamed building with a few trees just to its left.  This seems to match exactly the shot of Phil and the Greeter which allows a glimpse of the water behind it and another building across the lake.

The map is in my DK Warsaw guide I'll see if I can scan it and send to Puddin.

I was in charge of USIA'S film/videotape coverage of President Carter's trip over New Years (1978/79) to Warsaw, Tehran, New Delhi, Riyadh, Bahrain, Paris and Brussels.  That was back in the days when our Presidents like to travel the world, and the press and TV covered their every move.
