CBS Renews Amazing Race for 5th $1 Million Run
When you deliver a network two top ten hits and another show headed in that direction, you usually get what you want.
CSI, CSI Miami and Without a Trace executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer has been given the greenlight for Amazing Race 5.
Former COPS producer Bertram Van Munster continues as Bruckheimer's co-executive producer of the Emmy-nominated game.
The fifth Race is expected to be held for next summer, as was this year's fourth edition---after being pulled from the CBS winter/spring lineup when Amazing Race 3 struggled against ABC's The Bachelor last fall.
A renewal was up in the air after the summer edition started slowly in the Survivor slot. However, a strong rally---particularly in 18-49 age demographics during the show's final three weeks---cinched the pickup. CBS holds an option to insert the game into the midseason lineup if Bruckheimer and Van Munster have the fifth version ready.

Escape From Reality..From TV guide
Who says reality TV won't leave to bigger things? Amazing race champ Reichen Lehmkuhl beat out scores of actors foe a role on the season premeire of Frasiar
" I play the impossibly handsome man " says the 29 year old former Air Force Flyboy . I only have one line-"Can I borrow your sugar? " but I wouldn"t trade it for the world. Naturally, the experience whetted Lehmkuhl's appetite for more TV roles."I got an acting coach,I'm signing with a agent, and I'm hoping to get on a soap opera,"he says."That's my goal."
How Amazing. (Frasier premieres Tues. Sept. 23 9 /ET)

Yippie!! TAR wins a Emmy!! :D
-
Congratulations to TAR for winning an emmy. Who accepted the award?
-
Van Munster accepted it, & gave an unimpressive speech, reading a
list of people to thank, I 'm pretty sure that the Emmy was for TAR3 only... ~puddin~
