Scoring Points: With the exception of the weekly Trivia Questions Bonus, registered players accrue points when Survivor cast members on a registrants' team are awarded points based on their actions, and outcome of events (e.g., winning immunity) during an episode. Survivor: Palau episode #2 scheduled for broadcast on 2/24/05 will be the first episode used to accrue points to registered players. Team point totals will be updated by 1:00 PM Eastern Time following the night of each new Survivor: Palau broadcast. All decisions regarding scoring in the Survivor: Palau Fantasy League will be made by an "Official Scorer", a CBS.com representative whose decisions are final and binding on matters relating to the awarding of points in this game. With the exception of the weekly Trivia Questions Bonus, points in each episode will be awarded ONLY for qualifying activities occurring during new, previously unseen footage. No points will be awarded for events that occur during flashbacks of any sort. Points are awarded solely for material broadcast during the Survivor: Palau television program and by correctly answering the weekly Trivia Questions Bonus.
Following are the categories for which points will be awarded in the Survivor: Palau Fantasy League (categories and corresponding point awards are subject to change at any time at Sponsor's discretion):
Reads Tree Mail: You score 10 points any time one of your Survivors reads aloud any part of the "Tree Mail."
Goes in Ocean: You score 8 points any time one of your Survivors goes into the ocean - except during a challenge. No points are awarded for being in water during challenge. The Survivor must be in the water above their knees.
Chops Coconut with Machete: You score 15 points on every occasion that one of your Survivors uses a machete to chop a coconut. The points are for striking the actual coconut with the blade of the knife. Points are awarded for each coconut the Survivor works on.
Cries: You score 10 points any time one of your Survivors sheds tears.
Immunity Challenge (group): You score 10 points any time one your Survivors is on the Tribe that wins Immunity.
Immunity (individual): You score 25 points any time one your Survivors wins the individual Immunity Challenge.
Reward Challenge (group): You score 10 points any time one your Survivors is on the Tribe that wins a Reward Challenge.
Reward Challenge (individual): You score 20 points any time one your Survivors wins the individual Reward Challenge.
Sits Out Challenge: You lose 12 points any time one of your team does not take part a group challenge - reward or immunity.
Voted Off: You lose 20 points when one of your Survivors gets voted off of the show.
Bonus Points: You are awarded 40 points any time one of your Survivors performs the activity that you have selected for them in the "Bonus Points" area.
Survivor: Palau Fantasy League Trivia Questions Bonus: You can earn up to a maximum of 120 Bonus Points weekly by correctly answering up to three trivia questions specific to each new episode of Survivor: Palau. Okay...I think this week's big point earner is gonna be: Goes in the water.
Now we know Ian is a definite. And I think Tom, too. But if Ulong wins the reward, then some others will be fishing with the new gear. I personally think Koror will win because they'll get the flint back and will be able to cook a feast. Since Ian is the dolphin trainer, he's the obvious one to do the fishing, too.
Therefore, everyone better have Ian on their team.

Let’s take a moment to do a little detective work and see if we can bring our CBS Fantasy game scores up a little…
There are a few clues in the promos and vidcaps this week. I’ll update this as needed after some discussion…
First off, let’s analyze some of the promo copy…
From the CBS.com Website:
ON THE NEXT SURVIVOR
- One tribe relaxes after winning a Challenge, which annoys a tribemate frustrated with the lack of a work ethic.
- A war of words erupts between two tribe members as one lays into the other for being bossy.
- Just as a Challenge is set to begin, one tribe faces a setback when a member suffers an injury. Will this affect their ability to compete?
- Two fearless castaways take it upon themselves to confront some deadly creatures on the island.
And from the CBS eyemail:
‘The Koror tribe goes shark hunting while Ulong faces a setback when Jeff is injured. Plus, Caryn and Katie have it out.’
REGULAR POINTS CATEGORIES
1) Reads Tree Mail: (10 points)
According to CBS.com, last week Angie and Bobby Jon read the Tree Mail. It’s too early in the season to see any trends here, and there have been no clues in the promos and vidcaps, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who does it this week.
2) Goes in Ocean: (8 points)
Last week scored like so: Ashlee - 1 time, Bobby Jon - 2 times, Gregg - 1 time, Ian - 1 time, Jeff - 2 times, Kim - 1 time, Stephenie - 2 times, Tom - 1 time.
This week, based on what’s tinted blue up in the promo/eyemail transcripts and as evidenced by this vidcap:

It looks like Ian & Tom are in the water to hunt the shark. Easy points there.
However, look at this vidcap from Survivorfever.net:

Is that Gregg with them? And, is that another time which would mean that Ian and Tom get even MORE points?
And then there’s this vidcap from Survivorfever.net:

It looks like there are even more people in the water, and it appears as though that is still Koror. A wealth of water points should be earned this week.
3) Chops Coconut with Machete: (15 points)
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored yet for this and no vidcap evidence points towards this happening this episode.
4) Cries: (10 points)
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored yet for this. According to what's tinted in red above in the promo/eyemail transcripts, could Jeff’s boo-boo be painful enough to cause tears?
If Jeff were to be voted out, quit or otherwise leave the game due to his injury, we COULD see tears from bed buddy Kim.
5) Immunity Challenge (group): (10 points)
Koror won last week. Polls are leaning towards this happening again.
6) Immunity (individual): (25 points)
This is not applicable at this point of the game.
7) Reward Challenge (group): (10 points)
Ulong won last week and polls are leaning towards this being the case this week as well.
8) Reward Challenge (individual): (20 points)
This is not applicable at this point of the game.
9) Sits out Challenge: (-12 points)
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored for this yet. However, the folks at CBS.com obviously do not actually WATCH Survivor, because clearly Willard and Katie both sat out challenges last week. The promo suggests that Jeff’s injury happens prior to a challenge, which COULD mean he sits out that challenge so he can enjoy his pain without distractions.
10) Voted Off: (-20 points)
Last week it was Ashlee. This week polls are leaning towards Jeff, due to his injury.
BONUS POINTS CATEGORIES (40 points each occurrence)
1) First person in the episode to be seen in an Interview.
Last week it was Caryn. Many times, but not ALL the time, the first interview is with any Survivor who was at risk of boot at the last TC, but managed to escape the tribe’s wrath. That would point to Kim this week, since she was in the running for the boot last week.
2) Takes a nap.
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored in this category.
This week we have this vidcap of Kim & Jeff from Survivorfever.net:

Would CBS count this as a nap or is this considered overnight sleep? They don’t distinguish between those in the FAQ.
3) First person asked a question by Jeff Probst at Tribal Council
Last week it was Angie so Probst could play up her ‘redemption’ during the previous 3 days.
This obviously depends on which tribe goes to TC and Jeff tends to ask the person who has had the most ‘story’ this week. That being the case, if Ulong goes, it could be Jeff, due to his injury. If Koror goes, it could be Ian or Tom so they could bask in their shark hunting glory or Caryn or Katie to talk about their heated argument. No firm evidence.
4) Finds unexploded ammunition.
Yeah, right.
5) Gets naked
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored in this category. According to MediaScribe’s mind, both Kim and Jenn have been naked. And Puddin is dreaming of Bobby Jon naked right now.
6) Spends the night away from the tribe.
According to CBS.com, no points have been scored in this category. Until the rewards get better this most likely won’t happen. Unless Caryn or Katie gets so pissed off that they can’t stand to sleep in the same shelter with the other.

Obviously, shirkman_dominates is DOMINATING the Leaderboard b/c they have a multitude of usernames. Maybe the other ones I listed are just on different teams.
This issue is out of control and needs to be addressed! Can't you do something to prevent one person from dominating? There should be a limit as to how many usernames each player is allowed.
I sincerely hope you can do something about this problem!

OK, this week we've got even more to worry us...who gets individual immunity?
Supposedly, one member (from Kuror obviously) wins immunity & visits other tribes camp (sleeps away, maybe?) and gets to bestow immunity on one of Ulong's tribemembers.
WWWAAAAA...I need at least 200 teams to get this one right. (skirkman) ^/^
Then we've got the rumor of Ian & Tom finding unexploded ammunition..with possible each shell counting as extra points.
And with two tribals, two chances of getting 1st interview at TC right. Who would Jeff talk to 1st from Kuror?

Following the night's miserable weather, one castaway has an emotional and physical breakdown. One castaway becomes increasingly irritated by another's lack of worth ethic around camp. Where are ya'll getting the(-) pts for losing a challenge? According to the rules, a Survivor only gets (-) pts for sitting out a challenge and being voted off. I double checked this with the points by Survivor and the only people with any negative pts are those who have sat out a challenge and were voted off.

Steph wanted to get rid of Ibe last week and actually did vote for him at first causing a tie. After her little speech about being trust worthy I think she will vote with Bobby Jon to get rid of Ibe this week. JMHO
Why the guys want vote Steph off----Booby nor Steph like Ibe and they are still hanging on to a slim thread that they will merge or, they will get lucky and win IC. Ibe may be strong but he's slow and, well, as James said--clumsy. He sucks at most of the challenges. If it was me, I would take my chances with Steph and vice versa than with Ibe. Again, JMHO

Looks like this week on the cBS Fantasy League the only thing we really have to watch out for is NOT picking the Koror tribemember who sits out BOTH challenges!
Also, since "Goes in Ocean" is only worth 8 points each, your team members will have to go in the ocean several times in order rack up the big points ...UGH.
Ulong will probably lose both challenges, BUT they'll probably have "First Interview" and definitely have "First Questioned at TC".
Picking Stef for either one of these will be the safest choice, since she's likely to stick around, but, if you've notice in the past episodes, they always seem to have the booted player have more face time and they're the likely ones for these two bonus categories.

Ok I changed back. Ibe may not go home but I don't feel that he is gonna make any points. He isn't going in the water for sure and, I don't think he will be interviewed or questioned first this week. If i'm wrong i apologize to my team now. Gregg may go in the water a couple of times to make up for the sitting out points. Who the hecks knows. I'll be glad when Ulong is gone, gone as far as CBS Fantasy picks.

From what I see on the calendar (fitting with some events I know that happen on certain dates), the double boot coming up in episode 5 - I believe it to be Angie and Willard... since it's one Ulong, and one Koror, and they showed up at loser lodge together.
Wezzie - I am not sure how Stephenie ended up spending her night alone. The only information I got on it, was that it was a Survivor first. The feeling I got from the conversation was that it wasn't a reward though. Oh, and I heard something about a Corvette too. Might be a reward around Caryn's boot - working on more information.

Well, just the fact that they have the correct scores in the "MY SCORES" part:
Normal: 490
Reward: 120
Other: 840
...means that my Overall Total of 1440 1450 is correct! =]/ I just checked & they have not corrected the Total. grrrr. Pi$$es me off that CBS is so duhh about scoring CORRECTLY!! Yes puddin. There are 7 weeks' worth of points @ 120 pts per week.
120 x 7 = 840.
That's the number displayed...for Weeks 2 thru 8. It shows 20, 40, 60 pts per week in the last column. }}
If they don't correct my total by 10am MT on Wednesday, I may call that number Swanee gave me....and chew some freekin butt!! {{{}

Yeh right. So far, doesn't look as if I've shown them a dang thing. I've written them twice this week, but they don't have the courtesy to even reply or correct their mistake. They still have my total score WRONG, yet my individual scores add up to 1450, NOT 1330. I'm purdy darn bummed. :':')
And, I don't understand how everyone else on RFF's teams got their points corrected...ranging from approx +120pts to +180pts, but I got a measly +10pt correction since Ep8. Good Gosh, just do the math!! It's as plain as the nose on a face! I get the feeling people think I'm being dishonest or sumthun. I have my faults, but dishonesty and cheating is NOT one of them!
At this point, I can only hope CBS will make the proper adjustment after Ep9 airs. Maybe that's what they'll do? If they don't? I tell you...I am REALLY gonna read them the riot act. There's simply NO excuse for their neglect and lack of giving a dang. :(*8

ohhh,,,,ok puddin. Thanks for clarifying sleeping away. I thot it meant anywhere except at night. Like during the day...there have been survivors sleeping away more than a nap. But that would be getting too technical. So I can see why it means what you say!

See...that's what I thought might be the prob...yet last week when they posted Ep 9 scores on my roster, they didn't add the 120pts to my point TOTAL. That's what I've been griping about!! This week, about Tues, they'll post the Ep 10 points on the roster again, but those pts prbly won't be included in the TOTAL score...unless some of us gang up on'em!!

I think week eight was where they got messed up. I know I thought I did very bad that week on my other team to. They added the points for week eight on week nine. Last nine they added week nine so, they are a week behind now but that wasn't the way it started. We should have been awarded week ten points last night.
And yep i was po'ed about Janu getting -20. It sort of sucks that you can only pick one activity for one person. /]* Janu racked up all the poits last night.

You know what happened, puddin....they updated everyone's score but didn't update the overall board yet (probably too much work, what with over 100,000 people playing)
Why am I not on the Overall Leaderboard?
The Overall Leaderboard is available to all players in the SURVIVOR Fantasy League, which might number over 100,000 teams, so even though your score might put you at the top of your Tribe Leaderboard, it may not be high enough to put you on the Overall Leaderboard. But keep playing; maybe you'll make it.
Anybody even near the top 100 is doing an awesome job.

Slight change of subject: Did anyone notice on the Leaderboard the Tribe of 8 who ALL have the same scores every single week?! (they're in the last 25 ). I know it's ONE tribe b/c all their names are chicken related besides all their scores the same! What they're doing is EACH MEMBER HAS THE SAME PICKS (TEAM) and they all pick the SAME actions for their team every week. That's the only way all 8 can earn the same scores. It would take a lot of communication w/ each other to decide who/what to pick each week. What do you all think of that? I think it's a terrific idea! That chicken team has been on the Leaderboard this whole season. At first they ranked higher...i think in the top 25 or 50.
We could still join another tribe & play like it is now. As for me, depends on whether I get all my points due me THIS season!! Here's hoping all w/ missing pts will get them and we'll ALL be happy campers after the Finale! }^/

I think I'm going take Gregg Jenn Katie & Tom for my CBS team this week. The spoliers are looking pretty good for Gregg to win the Family RC re: the Mersaydees/Dan Bollinger spoliers..(Dan/Wezzie) also mentions swimming with the dolphins...showers and breakfast (maybe an overnight). Besides the points for RC those should be good for lots of 'in the water' 'sleeps away points.' Even if Gregg is the boot with a -20 for being voted off it may still well be worth having him. Now all that's needed is to figure out who gets IC (Tom/Caryn)? and it could be an easy CBS pick this week.

Mersaydeez (I think) said breakfast and we ASSUMED that meant overnight. You all know what happens when we ASS=U+ME anything!

I always bread and pan fry mine unless i catch a big bass. Not my fav fish so sometimes I put onion and other seasonings in, wrapped it in foil and bake. The onion takes away some of the strong taste.

That's what led me to believe this was a potential overnight thing. Besides, it's kind a big, well appointed boat for just a trip to swim with dolphins, isn't it? I liken this to Sean Kenniff's reward where his Dad was on board...and that was an overnight thing if I recall right. We'll see.

cBS has already fixed the scoring for Tom (1st Int). ]#* Individual team scores were fixed, but not the leaderboard. Also, if you had already entered this week's bonus answers, you were credited the 120 points. Only two scoring episodes remain !

I didn't have my answers up. Looks like they finally gave me points for the missing weeks questions and for Tom's first interview. At least on my other tribe they did. Tribe leader emailed me last night and said if the leader board were to stay the same and they put my name in i would be #25. Haven't looked at RFF Rules points yet. I don't mind losing if I do it to myself but it pisses me off when someone causes me to lose.

puddin did you get points last night. I feel like I am losing my mind because it's on both tribes. Wasn't last night week 13? Please post it or tell me if yours says week thirteen under other points. They added week eleven to mine last week then came back the next day and added week twelve and the 4o points for Ian first questioned at TC. Maybe i'm confused with what they are doing but for the first seven weeks when I bother to look they had all the weeks right.
We didn't do week one. Last night should be eppy 14 week thirteen for bonus answers or, IS IT ME???????? aarrrgggghhhh If so they gave me points for twelve last week before i even answered the questions.
I wondered if they were going to have first, second place etc, They should but then again this is CBS!!!!!!!!

While I agree with putting eliminated players on your team to avoid the "voted off" penalty, do not count on those players scoring any points for your team. They will avoid the -20 however. I've tried it in year's past, especially two seasons ago, when the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th bonus options were NOT added.
There will be TWO "first questioned at TC" bonuses, and one "first confessional" bonuses to shoot for, for sure.

Well. Jenn WAS voted off is probably why the -20. Yes Tom did win two immunities. But CBS may not see it that way since Ian stepped down. Tom didn't actually win and Ian didn't actually lose but still if if took 20 for him losing they should give Tom the win.
