PLEASE only use this to bitch/moan/squeal with excitement. :conf:
ACTUAL race spoiling, helpful info, suggestions about what may be coming...the DETECTIVE part of what we do...should 1000% be in Discussion of spoilers thread.
Please don't bury helpful info in here..it may never be seen. :funny:
(NO posting until the race is underway.)

Morocco, excellent choice for the first leg. Great to see they're back to the world travel! :D
-
Whew, jumping right into Africa. That's exciting!
I hope the cast and crew can all stay safe and make it through the whole season with zero COVID cases.
-
Can't believe leg 1 is Sydney to Chefchaouen, Morocco. I was not expecting a jump from Oceania to Africa! Very happy about it as I love the legs in Morocco from the US version!
-
I hope they don’t make those guys wear those gold shorts the entire race.
-
Hoping for a back to normal season with a MF or FF team winning.
No more invaders, skip a leg and overly complicated twists this time around.
-
I'd be alright with them doing the Salvage & Sabotage again. It was a creative new non-elimination penalty, and there's plenty more possibilities they could come up with for each. The Speed Bump's getting stale after so many years.
But ditch the stupid First Class Pass, by all means. A team should never get an entire day off from a leg.
-
So excited to get official confirmation of them in Morocco!
I'm hyped to see that they're at the same market as the TAR25 Morcco visit to get that chaotic market feel back that was missing in TAR33.
Though I am a bit nervous about their COVID safety handling. If a crew member or team tests positive for COVID-19, they'll probably shut the production down or suspended it or something. I feel like being in a crowded market is definitely more risky and the fact that we can see that teams are not wearing masks either is a bit concerning. I'm sure they're vaccinated but there can always be a breakthrough case so that makes me worried...
-
A start in Morocco, whether it's one leg or two, with a first-for-the-series visit to Chefchaouen, is ridiculously cool. Here's hoping they don't let bad leg design get in the way of amazing locations.
-
Suuper excited already! Morocco is already a great location ❤️

Thank you ❤️

I was looking at our wiki and found out this is the first time any non-US version has ever gone to Morocco!!!
-
we lost them
-
we lost them
Maybe they are just taking a longer extended pitstop? Considering the long flight jump from Australia to Morocco and the effect of COVID
-
I don’t know.. I kinda think Longreach is better. Jk! I would give up quite a lot to race around the world.
Suuper excited already! Morocco is already a great location ❤️
-
2 countries in and this Australian season has already seen more continents than US 33. And it looks like they're using taxis too.
-
AAAAAHHHH!!! <3
Sorry, but Santorini. I've always wanted TAR to visit there! Part of the reason I love it so much is as a Pokémon fan. It was the inspiration for Sootopolis City.
Only TAR China ever has.

Lower those expectations; AUS4 only went to Asia and Africa.
BTW, MegaTen > Pokemon.
-
Is anybody else not a fan of the Salvage/Sabotage? I don't like that you can get rewarded for placing last and punished for the crime of...placing second-to-last? And the reverse isn't much better. Absolutely prefer the Speed Bump/Marked for Elimination to this

Omg I feel you :(
As big and diverse and great as Australia it just didn't doesn't feel the same as the global travel format for me
-
Also niceeee @ Greece ❤️
-
Finally new sightings, lol. LOVING this route! Host change aside, they are putting TAR33's route to shame.
4 continents now including Australia.
-
Now watch Tweedie catch Deltacron and force production to sub in Anthony LaPaglia's kid brother as the next host.
-

Technically, Izmir is in the Asian part of Turkey I believe, so you could argue 5 continents...but it does seem more Europe.

If this is really gonna end up being 20 teams with two Starting Lines then I wish the editors the best of luck to edit this together.
The two split start episodes of just ten teams will probably be alright. But once both groups merge together, probably in episode 3, and have 18 teams racing at the same time...... it's gonna be an editing mess I just know it lol.
-
They might do it like TAR Israel. Episode 1 is seven of the 14 teams, episode 2 is the other seven. So two are eliminated and they merge as 12. But if there's 18 teams, uh yeah, maybe they should have a 2-hour episode.
Apparently that's just Australian TV for you. When they do stuff, they like to go big.
-
Yeah I think it will be like TAR Israel but from what I've heard, that actually worked because it was a 7-7 split and they merged at 12. That's not extreme or anything. 12 teams in one leg is doable.
But here, we saw one of the Starting Lines and there's 10 teams. So it would make sense for the other Starting Line to also be 10 teams. And if they merge after each starting leg, they'd have 18... which we've never seen for an TAR ever. Unless they keep the two groups separated for longer, which I guess is possible...?
But if they go with the TAR Israel format, but just with more teams we'll see something like this:
Episode 1: Ten teams (Starting Line 1)
Episode 2: Ten teams (Starting Line 2)
Episode 3: Eighteen teams (Merge)
-

It's possible that we have multiple legs per country, and in this case, "Leg 3" in Chefchaouen is an NEL, considering the team that we saw standing on the mat next to Beau seems like them waiting around to make their Salvage/Sabotage decision. I'd say 18 teams start racing together then.
-
It just sounds to me like Australia, for the last two seasons, has been overcomplicating what should be a very simple format for the race. I don't care for it one bit.

While I like the route and countries, Santorini, Chefchaouen, Izmir, Bogota. The possibility of having 20 Teams is overkill. I cannot imagine the editor's work for this.
I didn't even watch the entire last Season as it was too long. 24 Legs!! Stick with the basics and applicable twists.

Despite the Stowaways twist, I enjoyed the hell out of TARAUS5.
One thing I find amazing every time it comes up is that people on these forums clamor for more 'Amazing Race' but are always so put off when more is given. The shift from people complaining that TAR32 racers deserved to have their episodes aired quicker to the same people complaining that the racers were unfair and undeserving because of the alliance, for instance, was almost instant.
We got 24 episodes of TARAUS5, with all its flaws, during a time when the race had no business even existing-- in the middle of an international pandemic-- and it was a balm during a really tough time. As a non-Australian, it was thrilling to see parts of AUS that I didn't know even existed, and frankly, the race itself was wildly competitive and I hung on to every episode.
We literally have news here saying that the race is going to destinations never before featured on any previous international race and there are still complaints.
It's just frustrating to see people bite the hand that feeds them is all.
-
Personally, I'm excited for real life Ridonculous Race season 2. :luvya: I just hope the editing won't be atrocious with having to balance so many teams at once.

Agreed, it was an above-average Aussie answer to Family Edition alongside TARCAN1 and TARCAN7.
-
Woo, Belize! Wally Bransen once said Family Edition was supposed to go there, then the leg was cancelled by an impending hurricane and they never tried in another season. I hear you, Marion Paolo. I would have rather had that than Arizona.
This route is getting better and better! <3
-
Holy cow, we've waited forever for Belize.
-
I love the visited countries but the boot order looks dissapointing, tbh. It looks like FF teams were dropping like the flies. Only 1 was seen in South America.
-
That counts as part of North America, so we officially have ourselves a 6-continent route :D
Impressive during a pandemic.
-
Only took a Deltacron infection to get there! /s
-
I believe we have at least 7 FF teams, that's the record lol.
-
As concerned as I am for the overall editing of 20 teams - I am so excited! I also can’t understand why someone would moan about 24 legs of Race. I want as MUCH as I can get! Love it! Hoping Salvage Sabotage stays but not the First Class Pass. That annoys me!
Also - amazing locations! Chefchaouen, Santorini, Izmir, Medellin and Belize entirely are ALL new!

The route looks amazing and the cast seems good on paper but I can’t fathom how this will not be an editing disaster..
Season 5 was a bit of an editing disaster and that had a stellar cast.
-
As long as it's not like Australian Survivor where only 4 people are allowed to exist every episode I think we'll be fine. Arguably the only underedited team on 5 was Malaan & Tina.
Remaining cautiously optimistic for this season, as long as the cast is fun and the rest of the route is good this has a lot of potential!
-
I believe we have at least 7 FF teams, that's the record lol.
And only two got to F8.
-

not three? Red FF team, Black FF team, & that blondie & brunette duo FF team.

Is it confirmed that this was F8 leg? just because there were 8 teams seen it doesn't mean it's F8, there is high chance we missed some team(s).
-
Oh goodness, no idea how this is gonna work editing-wise with 20 teams in one race. I would have rather them just run two races back to back with 10 teams (and 12 legs) each if they want to run 24 episodes.
That scenario would remind me of TAR 6 and 7, where TAR 7 started 3 weeks after the TAR 6 finale lol
-
Omg what a mess hahah is this how spoiler seasons usually are?

No :funny:
Australia is just messy LOL

We might see a FF or MF team win this time, finally. I don't think there are many MM teams left. :jam:

Mayan ruins could appear on consecutive Belizean/Mexican episodes.

Are the gold guys gone? They looked like the only true alpha-male team, so if they're gone, the odds look good.

Haven't seen them in a while. Like a LONG time.................
-
Funny how the non-Sydney Starting Line still remains unknown.
-
As the cast gets revealed, I'm kinda of sad at some of the FF teams that didn't make it far :'(
Oh and the name Reem reminds me of Reem from Survivor 38 :funny: The name Reem will always remind me of her LOL

Can it be possible to be already at the final 3?
We know they were 8 teams during the second Belize leg (let's say one team got eliminated)
Which means 7 teams in Mexico...
-
Guess they're at the final leg if they're in Perth. At least they got to the part of Australia they couldn't in the domestic season.
What a long, bizarre filming cycle this has been. Very excited for the 6-continent route!

Filming has not ended. Comments in the TikTok video say they saw them again today in Perth, we just don't have sightings yet.

It might be possible to miss a few legs or even a country straight up, there was a gap after the second Merida leg that isn't accounted for.

Morocco/Greece/Turkey then Colombia/Belize/Mexico is akin to AUS4's Korea/Vietnam/Mongolia and Zambia/Zimbabwe/Malawi only without the Thailand bonus.

Maybe there was a single leg in the US? Houston, LA, and San Francisco have direct flights to Australia.

Fremantle, WA! So yes, at least one leg in the States!

Would it really be a 6-continent route though? I know Izmir is the saving grace since it's on the Asian side of Turkey, but I still think it will be categorized as Europe as it's listed under it according to Wiki. Still, I'm hoping they went to an obscure Asian country with lenient Covid restrictions like Georgia/Lebanon/Kyrgyzstan/Oman.

That, or somewhere in Canada.
-
Now that I think about it; deciding to increase the amount of team to twenty during a time where catching a rampant virus could mess up the whole thing is a really really stupid idea
-
They might've forced TARCAN[8]'s hand ahead of schedule if there'd been a leg or two in Toronto or Quebec.
-
.
-
After seeing that photo of Nara & Glennon in Colombia I am like 100% sure they somehow made it to F3 unsighted and won. 6th MM winners in a row because we can not have nice things.
-
I want to see another MM team win to watch the chaos }:>
-
The Softball Girlfriends from TARCAN4 remain superior to literally every TARAUS winner if true.
-
^Bruh that’s sexist
-
So are TARCAN1's Tims, but go off.
-
Ew @ that culturally irrelevant canal ruining a third Greek visit.
-
Ew @ that culturally irrelevant canal ruining a third Greek visit.
What's wrong with that? There's no rule against versions copying each other. Australia practically copied TAR27's Zambezi River visit :) (and so did Israel, actually)
They haven't been there
-
Because it's a waste of a challenge that could be done anywhere else in the world instead of something specifically Hellenistic or Byzantine.
-
They also went to Santorini, though. That place has been on my TAR wishlist for a long time.
-
Except the Chinese edition went there eight years ago and wasted the visit on crappy tasks.
-
When the season premieres ?
-
When the season premieres ?
We don't know yet, "2022" is all they said, but Channel 10 just announced Hunted Australia and that'll be their big summer reality show. Betting TAR will be in the fall/Australian spring alongside TAR34.
-
It's going to be the longest delay between the filming of a Channel Ten season and its airdate: TARAUS4 was broadcast less than two months afterwards and TARAUS5 just slightly over eight weeks - in other words, the earliest case scenario would be an overlap with TARCAN8 a la TARAUSvsNZ and TARCAN2 back in Summer 2014.
-
Yeah. It filmed 2 months ago, so I expected to start hearing news about now.
TARCan 8 will start next month so that's not happening this time. Maybe at the end of it. I do remember Alain & Audrey and Tyson & Sally's mat proposals happened to air in the same week.
-
Just imagine if the Hairdressers had been on Season 25 instead of Blind Date Edition!
Anyhow, TARAUS6's two-dozen or so episodes will probably have a schedule like the similarly elongated TARAUS5.
-
I was expecting this season to be aired during summer but not a single promo for this dropped yet so I am wondering now.

Finally some news! Nice to have an Amazing Race to look forward to again that has respect for itself, not naming any specific franchises.
-
Why can't they just do a normal 12-leg route with 11 teams?
-
This is premiering in 10 days, can they reveal cast already? :groan: Some teams are shown all over the promos and they are not even allowed to talk about it or announce they are on.

Australian reality TV is so weird when it comes to cast reveals and NDAs. Survivor and Big Brother are the same way there. I don't know what they're thought process is...

I remember during Australia 3, the cast wasn't allowed to talk about it on social media when the show was ON. Someone prefaced that in a post, and sure enough, following them on Twitter was crickets about the race. The Ten iteration seems more relaxed on that.
But yeah, casts always deserve at least a 2 week period before the premiere.

Called it!

This cast is very diverse relationships wise so it's dissapointing how couples heavy endgame will be. 5 of 6 couples casted made it to at least Belize F8.
-
This season also probably has a record number of LGBTQ+ representation. 9 out of 40 contestants officially confirmed (Kathy & Chace, Lauren & Steph, Pako & Mori, Sam & Alex, as well as Vincent), and 11/40 if Morgan & Lilli really are a couple in the vein of MJ & Chelsea not being portrayed as such on AUS5.
It's a very diverse cast in a lot of aspects (on top of the Pacific Islander, Asian, and Indigenous rep), and I'm honestly still impressed seeing this all broken down officially even though we knew 17 of these teams months ago! Very excited to see this kick off.
5 of 6 couples casted made it to at least Belize F8.
And only one eventually made the Final 3 ;)
-

Is it somehow confirmed that Tiffany & Cynthia are in the F3? I know some witness described seeing red FF team but I am kind of skeptical without photo evidence tbh.
I am also really interested to see how far Claire and Jodie made it... Last seen in Belize but I hope they made it little further, they seems like underdogs to root for.
Also we can confirm that Paul and Rachel are our first boots from group A sadly.
-
It's not exactly focused on, but it looks like this season may be reverting to the TAR Australia 4 rules, as per the press release on 10 featuring the cast reveal. No mentions of the Sabotage, the First Class Pass, the T-Junction, or the forced U-Turn rule from the last season. The only additions and deviations from the Australia 4 rules they released years ago is mention of the Express Pass and a "Virtual Pit Stop" (KOR) and that each leg is an episode so no two-parters or playing around with the leg numbers during these legs. The Speed Bump is also listed as occurring at the very start of the next leg for the affected team before receiving their first clue. The only twist properly mentioned is what we already figured during spoilers (Leg 1 + 2 split start, Leg 3 merge).
There is, however, absolutely no mention of Scott up to this point, which means things may (and will likely) change.
Source: https://www.paramountanz.com.au/news-and-insights/meet-the-teams-taking-on-their-biggest-adventure-yet/
-
The exact wording for the Speed Bump explanation gives one pause: "may" need to complete a challenge et. al implies the possibility of penalty-free NELs such as from last season.
-
Also we can confirm that Paul and Rachel are our first boots from group A sadly.
Definitely looks like it. She's also currently the only racer to not post anything about being on TAR lol.
-
Rather than the second coming of Ross & Taryn, they've instead turned out to be Australia's answer to Hosokote & Naina.
-
I did not watch episode yet but apparently Kathy and Chace are still not back from their sick leave? That's just ridiculous. And now Stuart and Glennon are guaranteed as well? I have nothing against these two teams but I am kinda glad that they got eliminated in Colombia and did not make it further after their resting periods (not their fault but still...).
-

I completely understand the sentiment of wanting teams to "earn" their spots in the end by competing as much as possible, but I can 100% guarantee you that it's worse on their end, stuck quarantining instead of traveling the world, and that's something no purity test imposed by online fans can make up.
Plus, some legs, like leg 6, were as close to crapshoots as possible in TAR, so merit may be necessarily linear to the number of legs completed.
-
We're 8 legs into the race as of tonight and they've ran 2. Hopefully they come back soon, it's starting to feel like Chris Underwood in Survivor: Edge of Extinction, especially if they go far (he spent most of the season on Exile Island)
-
These Turkish Aegean legs are almost as good as Chefchaouen.
-

All the teams came on the show understanding they were Racing in the COVID Era. Which means they could catch COVID and potentially result in them getting eliminated because of it. Is it sad for them? Of course. Is it fair? Normally, no. But this is COVID Era Amazing Race. Getting eliminated because you caught COVID on a show that has you running around the world, interacting with random people all day is much "fairer" than getting a free pass closer to the finale because you caught COVID while the "unlucky" teams who were COVID negative ran more Legs than you and still got eliminated.

This!
-
At this point I wouldn't mind if Kathy and Chace got more legs off just for ****s and giggles lol
-
And now 5 TEAMS are skipping Colombia legs. Jesus... Like this is seriously ruining this season for me. I can stomach 1 or 2 teams but 5 teams that's just insane... I will never say a bad word about TARUS staying in Europe for whole season I promise.
-
I think what's causing this is production insisting on remaining on schedule. Based on the timeline, we lost Stuart & Glennon (during the Greece leaving for Turkey stretch) around March 20, and they were back in the Race on the 28th-29th (Bogota sightings).
Legs this season seem to have been filmed on an accelerated filming schedule of 5 days for all three legs each week.
TAR as it stands is a very logistics-heavy show, I could see the decision of not flying teams in till the next country messing up with the production schedule factoring into that choice.
I really appreciate what this season has been going for, but I think the wiser move would have been a temporary pause, especially since we know all the isolated teams return in Belize.
I will never say a bad word about TARUS staying in Europe for whole season I promise.
Now let's not go that far :funny:
-
The upcoming Twerk Detour in Belize compared with any of the known tasks in Jordan for the original edition's newest is an apt metaphor for production behind TARAUS6 versus Season 34's.
-
Belize is a few hours away! The country I've waited for this season :cheer:
Seeing a new country on TAR for the first time is always fun. Finally going to see the one after 17 years that Family Edition was apparently supposed to go to.
-
One week to go, rooting for Heath & Toni the most!
Of the final 6, there's one M/M team left. Nothing against Pako & Mori :luvya: they seem like awesome guys, but it'd be great to see Australia's "tradition" of winners finally be broken. This might be the year.
