I am referring to more of things that are factual (relating to geography), rather than lies that are uttered to throw their competitors off.
Off the top of my head
TAR8 Weaver Family: Claiming Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana is one of the Great Lakes
TARAus1:
1. One team wondering whether Hong Kong is in Singapore (Great job! :clap2:)
2. Alana and Mel pre-race interview:
Alana uses her Latvian heritage to explain her pale skin, but Mel interjects, "No you're white because you're Albino and that's a different country." Alana is bemused that her sister thinks albino is a country. "I gave her a map of the world and she said, 'That's not it, Alana, that's not the entire world. Where is the rest of it?" So it seems wise that as a team they've decided to defer anything physical to Mel and "anything that we know is going to be smart or nerdy is definitely going to be Alana," says Mel.

From TAR 8, Leg 2:
Rebecca (of Weaver Family): Where's Washington D.C.? What state is it in? Washington?
-
I remember plenty of moments like this happening but I wouldn't be able to recall any specifics since my brain tunes them out as soon as I hear them.

Switzerland is the first country to have a democracy - Phil, Season 31
-
The Lion King was filmed in Botswana - Chuck, TAR22
-
Switzerland is the first country to have a democracy - Phil, Season 31
Depends on its definition, though, it was too vague.

Definition of what? because either way it's wrong.
They even fixed it. During the Next episode promo Phil says the first country to have a democracy. Then in the other commercials and in the episode itself, it's changed to "Switzerland believes it has the first democracy"
Phil's scrip was just wrong for the recording of the "Next Episode" narration.

Greece was the birthplace of democracy. :)
-
Yeah, I already know that. I looked up some theories on the other site, but whatever.

I have a couple of Thai friends - Nathan (of Nathan and Jennifer) referred about the Taiwan leg in TAR 12.
-
According to Dustin during Season 10:
:funny: People in Finland wear the wooden clogs
:funny: A nuclear bomb went off in Chernobyl

"We're on a charter plane to Australia" - Danielle, TAR11
"To Tanzania, where the Tanzanian Devil lives" - Eric, TAR11
"This girl is from Algeria, and she says that's her flag!" - Drew, TAR1 (the flag was Tunisia)
"We don't know a lot about Taiwan, but...We like Thai food" - Nathan, TAR12
"I think we're going to Guatemala! China?" - Jeff/Jordan, TAR16
"I thought Spanish was, like, the universal language!" Joni or Lisa, TAR9 (while in Brazil)
"The picture was of Queen Elizabeth." - Canaan, TAR15
...and referring to the entire country as "Holland" in TAR4

The ones in bold are the most amusing.
In TARAus1, when heading to Israel, Matt and Tom thought Israel was next to Pakistan. :groan:
