So no split first leg like the previous two seasons, back to a single premiere elimination. Sadly knew who would be the first eliminated for a few weeks, as whoever was watching the Wikipedia page was quite insistent on reverting edits back to their name having the red 12th :(

Except season 5, the first team who booted for every seasons were F/F teams, but this version also have many stong F/F teams like Romi/Coral, Bar/Inna and Lee/Tal, and season 5 is the only season so far have more M/M teams than F/F teams

In the interest of the English-language Wiki, I have a couple of questions for our Hebrew-reading members, on information I haven't been able to find.
-What are the teams' correct team relationships as displayed on screen? The Google Translation...didn't turn out so well on a couple of them (e.g. Omer & Neta, being brother and sister I'm pretty sure are "Siblings", but it came out as "Brothers"!)
-What are their last names? Without a last initial, Mor & Mor are obviously going to be a problem in identifying who did what Roadblock :P
Also, not a question, just adding. Helen...I can't unsee a resemblance to Jackie Ibarra from TAR26! :P

Thought it was an enjoyable premiere.
The opening heights was pretty good, and I liked the nod to 1930s New York construction and the lax safety standards. Thought the IKEA task was creative with the spot the differences and having to find the correct items in store. Not too to say about the olive oil task aside from a few moments of physical comedy. Despite not knowing Hebrew, I have a decent understanding of a majority of the teams and they appear to have potential. Looking forward to New York and the rest of the season.

Just watched the first third of the first episode before my coffee got cold. Ah, those super long Merotz episodes.
So far, my assessment from the first 30-minutes glance(admitted bias towards F/F teams because American TAR could get some casting lessons from Merotz)
Love:
Hanni/Avivit - they seem to be pretty competent and they deal with high-stress situations in their daily lives. Hanni is a little extra, but so far I think it's endearing.
Evelyn/Tohar - the story about losing their baby was a heart breaking one - losing a child is not something unique to them, but they seem to be really genuine and sweet.
Mor/Mor - despite the fact that they have the same name which makes it confusing, I believe that they along with Helen/Regev were the first at the construction task.
Nimrod/Yonatan - they're so nerdy, but I like the fact that they enunciate clearly so I don't have to be constantly reading to keep up with them. I hope they do well.
Like:
Daniel/Eliyahu - They don't seem like the super-alpha-males that dominate so many seasons of American TAR. I like their derpyness. Daniel is the hotter one.
Anne/Yarden - They seem fun. Anne wears WAY too much makeup.
Helen/Regev - They also seem fun, and I like a couple that can make fun of each other and laugh about it.
Adi/Meitar - I thought that they were a gay couple at first, but Adi just has a short-ish hairstyle and kind of a masculine face, but seems to be really down-to-earth. Meitar is gorgeous. Their intro was really cute.
Yossi/Udi - Giving off Tiltil/Mizrahi vibes, lovable dads. Although Udi, in the intro spot - what the **** is wrong with you? You want your children to be proud of you, but then you go on the Amazing Race and the first thing you do is burst into tears and walk off-camera? (Totally joking, but I hope I don't have to watch a whole season of guys crying)
Dislike:
No'a/Ma'ayan - The rare F/F team that I dislike. They seem too into themselves, with Ma'Ayan's description of herself as an Instagram model. No'a seems somewhat tolerable.
Omer/Neta - Omer seems like a giant tool, and Neta comes off as an airhead. They struck me as bratty.
Jessica/Asaf - No. Can't stand Jessica's voice and Asaf's smugness. I know that exes make for "good TV" but that whole ice-skating to Frozen bit...just no.

Are these (Wikipedia's) the spellings we're going with? Are we sure it's Eliyahu? Maybe it's just me, but I swear on the show they're pronouncing it just "Eliya"
(I just ask because if I have to change the spelling of a name later, like I did with Alla's in season 4, it's a lot of tedious wiki work)

Episode 2 is online; however, when clicked the video says that the "content isn't available in your country" but still plays the audio. There are other ways to watch the episode (I know I can't publicly post links), so here are some thoughts:
Hard not to feel bad for the cops after struggling so much with the first task (even the clue giver comforted them) to losing the face off at the end of the episode.
So weird watching the show do a task at Washington Square Park three weeks after attending the live start. The spot the scale was set up was nearly the same spot where I waited for the TAR 30 teams to arrive.
Was hilarious watching the teams ask tourists and NYU graduates in full robes to volunteer. Also hilarious to see the confusion of the teams when they asked for people's weights in kilos only to get a response in pounds.
During the face off, one of the models (don't know names yet) stepped of the side of the platform as opposed to being pulled of building. :funny:

Correct, all the cabs at the airport had yellow NJ plates as opposed to orange or blue NY plates. Also, in their cab, the cops said "This is New York" to which their cab driver responded "This is New Jersey," and when they got out their cab said Newark on the side door.

New York City is one of the very few foreign places I have actually visited, so it's wonderful every time I get to see it.
While it was sad to see the cops struggling so much at the big apple task, I did have to laugh as they showed a crew member packing up the race flag and carrying it away. That's sort of halfway breaking the fourth wall, and the team even commented on it.
Wow, that is A BIG DOG in Washington Square! It was taller than the female contestant and then it jumped on her!! Who knew Clifford lived in New York?

Leg 1
Winter Lake Park: Teams had to walk across an I-beam suspended high above the park. Teams only had a short rope to balance each other. When teams reached the end of the beam, they had to sit down on the beam next to a marked lunch tin and have a picture taken holding the tin.
IKEA: Teams would choose a room display inside the store. Once teams thought that they had all the details in the room memorized, they would go outside to a similar looking display. Teams had to spot what was different in the outdoor display. They then would have to find all the correct items in the store and present them to a judge.
Yavneh Food Products Group: Teams had to balance themselves on opposite ends of a seesaw. Teams had to walk to the middle of the seesaw and fill a bucket with cups of olive oil. If either end of the seesaw touched the ground, teams would have to go back. After teams completed the task, their only instruction to find the pit stop was to find the mikveh that has been teaching agriculture for nearly 150 years.
Leg 2
Central Park: Teams had to toss a ball painted to look like an apple (The Big Apple) on top of a metal structure, an inverted cone atop a smaller cone. Teams had to balance the ball while they walked to a corresponding can. Once teams reached the can, they had to tilt the structure so the ball falls into the can. If the ball fell off the structure, teams had to start over.
Washington Square Park: Teams had to gather people to stand on a scale. Teams needed enough people to reach a weight of approximately 1636 kilograms (the weight of one million shekels using only five-shekel coins). Weights between 1631-1641 were acceptable.
Bush Terminal: (Double Battle) Tug-of-war atop two buildings. First team to pull the other off the roof advances.
Élan Flowers: Teams had to pick up a bouquet of flowers and four present. They then had to walk to Ari Soho and pick up 10 suits. They then walked to Ground Support Cafe to pick up 8 cups of coffee. They then walked to Art + Autonomy Salon to pick up a bag of golf clubs and a rolling luggage. They had to bring all of these items intact to "Mr. Donald" at 241 Centre St. If any of the items were lost or destroyed, they would have to go back.
Times Square - LaLine: Teams had to pick up a tray of scented body cream. They then had to walk around Times Square and encourage passersby to try their cream until they found a miniature race flag hidden in one of the creams.
Upper West Side - Big Daddy's: Teams would order off a menu written in Hebrew, which contained only the names of specials like "Million Dollar Baby" and "The American Dream." Teams were instructed to find the signature dish by ordering from the menu. They would then find out and be given the food they ordered, but the server would blend the drinks into a shake for the teams to drink. Teams would be told if they found the signature dish after completing their shake. If they did not find the signature dish, then teams would have to make another order. Once teams ordered the signature dish, they would be given a chocolate milk shake (some teams thought it was a trick) to drink and would be given their next clue.
United Palace: Teams had to perform a scene from the musical Peter Pan. One had to dress as Wendy and the other had to dress as Peter Pan. They would have to learn a choreographed routine from a video. When they were ready, they would perform the routine on stage, where Peter Pan would be harnessed to fly. Once they performed the scene correctly, they would receive their next clue.
Louis Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier: Each team had to dress up as the Statue of Liberty and hold a net between the two of them. Three people would them throw balls at them, and teams would have to catch 5 to receive their next clue.
United Nations Headquarters: Teams had to listen to a song that listed several places such as France, England, Italy, China, Japan, Hawaii, Morocco, and Kenya. Teams then had to search Times Square and find one person from three of these locations. They then had to bring all of the people they found to the UN judge standing next to the US Army Recruiting Times Square. Once the judge confirmed that the team had found all of the required people, who would have to present their passports/identification and say hello in their native languages, the team would receive their clue and could check in at the pit stop.

Waikiki Beach: Teams had to dress as mermaids with a coconut bra and a mermaid tail. Teams then had to drag themselves along the beach and find a bucket. Once they found a bucket, teams had to return to the starting point to find a mermaid lying next to an outrigger canoe. They then had to ask someone to douse each of them with a bucket of water and pose for a photo with the mermaid to receive their next clue.

One team member had to ride a water-powered jetpack called a Flyboard high enough to view a grid containing icons associated with Hawaii. The team member on shore had an incomplete grid that was missing several icons. The team member on the Flyboard had to relay the icons while flying above water to their partner on shore to complete the grid. Once all the icons were in there proper spots, teams would receive their next clue.
Fruit Stand: Teams had to pick up a tropical drink from a fruit stand (Sponsor: ספרינג).
Magic Island: (Double battle) Teams had to swim out to an inflatable Saturn floating in the lagoon. They then had to balance on the Saturn and work to knock off their opponents. After 10 minutes, teams could only hold onto the Saturn with one hand. Once both members of a team fell of, the other team would receive their next clue. Show content

Sandy Beach: (Detour: Above the Sand or Under the Sand)
Above: Teams had to pull a heavy stone across the sand using a rope and four logs. As teams moved the stone across the sand, they would have to move the last log to the front of the stone to keep it moving. Once teams pulled the stone across the marked finish, they would receive their next clue.
Under: One team member had to become a human metal detector and had to wear a helmet with a search coil attached while being held by their legs by their partner, who was wearing headphones. Teams had to search a roped-off area of the beach and find a metal plate shaped like a hand in the Shaka position to receive their next clue.
Coral Kingdom Gate (Roadblock): One team member had to ride a land sled (TAR 20) down a hill. At the bottom of the hill, the chosen team member had to grab the correct among several incorrect clues. Once they found the correct clue, they would receive their next clue.
Papahana Kualoa: Teams had to grab sweet potatoes wrapped in foil cooking on a fire. Teams then had to walk barefoot across sharp rocks to a basket and peel the potatoes. After teams peeled 25 potatoes, they would receive their next clue.
Bob's Hawaii Adventure (Overnight Rest): One team member travelled by boat to the coral reef in Maunalua Bay. When that person arrived, they entered a BOBdive and would propel themselves to a metal frame containing several baby photos of the racers. The chosen team member would have to find the six photos that pictured their team as children. Once they believed they got all six photos, they would return to the marina. If they were wrong, then their partner would have to search for the correct photos. Once teams found all six photos, a person dressed as a shark would give them their next clue.
Skin Deep Tattoo and Piercing: Teams would receive a temporary tattoo of a map of Honolulu on their backs. Teams would then have to ask locals what was tattooed in order to figure out the location of their next clue.
Bailey's Antiques and Aloha Shirts: Teams had to search through over 15000 Hawaiian shirts for one that matched the pattern given to teams to receive their next clue.

I counted only two scenes in the coffee shop. Here's why I believed that Ground Support Cafe was the coffee shop in an earlier post.
Light arrangement is the same. Chalk board is in the same place. Exit sign is attached to same structure above door. White bricks next to a brown shelf in both. The only difference I see is an air conditioner above the door in the Hamerotz picture.

They, most of the time, (as I have heard of) don't have Detour or Roadblock. Just some random but hard tasks.

HaMerotz wasn't big on them last year. The entire season only had 4 Roadblocks, and sometimes no Detour either, legs consisting of only a long sequence of ARI tasks. And Double Battles.

Only TARI 1 had a roadblock in every legs, TARI 2,3 and 4 had 7 roadblocks for each seasons, some legs in TARI had two detours and two types of U-turn (vote U-turn and normal U-turn)

Jai Ho here. Just finished watching episode 1 - it seemed like it took forever but it was worth it. Tough tasks but a lot of shakeups in the order. From what I understand, the next 2 episodes are up but geo-blocked for us Americans (at least visually; I could hear but not see).
Some highlights/observations/musings:
- Daniel/Eliyahu arriving last at the scaffolding task but 2nd to finish, behind Helen/Regev.
- Nimrod/Yonatan among the last to arrive at IKEA but the first to finish; subsequently, Daniel/Eliyahu completely losing their lead and being the last to finish at IKEA
- Jessica talking to herself in Spanish
- Nimrod/Yonatan not knowing how to operate their car...multiple times :funny:
- Anne telling Yarden to stop kissing her cheek and put on her seat belt (safety first kids!) :funny:
- Mor/Mor knocking over something glass, sending it crashing to the ground, shattering, and then just walking away like nothing happened :funny:
- Daniel/Eliyahu randomly dancing with a GIANT Israeli flag on a stick (probably belonging to the locals they were talking with)
- Nimrod calling Anne/Yarden "Yarden and...whatever..." (to their faces) :funny:
- No'a attempting to give Ma'ayan a physics lesson at the seesaw task :word:
- Anne/Yarden not weighing enough to make the seesaw move :adevil
- Evelyn/Tohar going from a complete breakdown at the first task to finishing in 3rd :hoot:
- Udi crying THREE. DIFFERENT. TIMES. Get a grip. :haha
- Hanni/Avivit finding out that the pit stop mat is right near where they live and then proceeding to argue about directions in a confessional. I do like them but they seem to have their fair share of idiotic moments.
- Daniel/Eliyahu, constantly arguing in confessionals (but it's funny, derpy arguing). Those two are not good at sharing.
- Neta/Omer blathering on so much at the mat that Ron has to kind of tell them to shut up so he can tell them their placement. And Neta's awful, shrieking voice
- SO MANY hot men in the cast, aside from the models (Omer, Tohar, Meitar...)
- Adi/Meitar being practically invisible for the whole episode

Sad to see Asaf & Jessica go out the way they did. They stumbled onto the pit stop by accident instead of the UN judge.
They also really looked like they did not expect that placement.

This was a long, brutal one. Four "run around, find people to do this" tasks packed in one leg (counting the SoHo task since that was still a lot of legwork and navigating), and in the crazy congested streets of Manhattan, no less.
Now off to Hawaii, which no doubt to them is going to feel like paradise after this, more than it already is :lol:

Man, I LOVED this UN task. I do agree that sometimes they cram a few too many "gather locals" tasks into the race, but this one was great. I loved watching it. I like how only a couple of teams picked up on the fact that Hawaii is in the USA, so any American citizen would fulfill the requirements. Yarden & Anne almost lost this leg because they kept turning away people from America!
I am so glad we didn't lose [10th place team], because I find them absolutely hilarious and want to see them go far!!

So, I think some segments were edited out of order. After the Flyboard task on Sand Island, teams went to a fruit stand to pick up a drink. Teams then went to Magic Island for the double battle and receive a clue telling teams to travel to Sandy Beach. However, the fruit stand looks like it was set up on Sandy Beach.

His Instagram and the URL on the official website say Jonathan, but that's definitely his anglicized name (Like how Yossi called himself Josie in NYC) and we don't list those. His name is definitely Yonatan, as that's clearly how everyone is pronouncing it. Yehonatan just has too many letters.

I did notice that and it confused me. It could be that her name is Hany, but she's given herself the English nickname of "Honey". For our Wiki I'm going to stick with Honey because it's on two sources, as opposed to Hany's one source. (I know the same can be said for Jonathan, but that's a different pronunciation so it's a different issue)

There's media, their Facebook page is posting things all the time. It's that auto-translation of Hebrew language online is unfortunately pretty terrible (this is why I've been waiting on the Wikia article before correcting the names). If "Hany" is written on her bracelet, for one, then that must be her correct spelling.
Some of the FB comments turn out pretty hilarious when you hit "translate" :lol: But the reception I'm gathering from them so far is the fans find this to be a less interesting cast. And Regev & Helen are essentially the Israeli Justin & Diana - a polarizing team who gets more screentime than anyone else. Appears so far they're the favourite target at the voting boards, so there must be something to it among the other teams.

Don't know how you forget about the sharp rocks you are literally standing on.
Regev & Helen's complaining about teams targeting them has become a bit much. From what I can tell it even extended to the sweet potato task. In nearly every episode, they've maintained a position in the top 3. They're objectively a strong team, so they're going to be a perpetual target.
Those are the people I got as well.

While trying to get a ride, they show their clue to a local (but we never hear the location they showed), and they are told that their location is far away.
Here's what I think. I think the show wanted a better explanation for why Anne & Yarden passed Adi & Meitar to the Roadblock. So, they showed the scene of them trying to find a cab. However, what I think happened is that while Adi performed the Roadblock their cab left, so they needed a new ride to Papahana Kualoa. Papahana Kualoa is 8 miles away from Coral Kingdom, so the local was probably telling them it was a far walk. I don't think that Adi& Meitar were going to the Roadblock from Coral Kingdom but rather to the sweet potato task.
Now to compare the flagged entrance to the Coral Kingdom Gate.

Across the street from the flagged gate on the show are similar mailboxes. The street lights are in a similar position. There are round log-like objects in both images. The pedestrian crossing sign also is in the same spot.
Now I give myself the impossible task of matching hills.
In both pictures from Hamerotz and TAR 20, there is a straight line of trees to the top of the hill and a small cluster of trees behind the building.

Regev & Helen get U-Turned and still finish in second place. They really should not be surprised if they become perpetual targets. However, I wonder if Daniel & Eliyahu will get more attention after back-to-back first place finishes.
Despite foreshadowing the next country (Nimrod and Yonatan used TicTac boxes as maracas to sing La Cucaracha), Nimrod & Yonatan will not be going there.

If there is one thing I really hate about modern TAR, it's two simple words.
"Marked. Taxi."
By the way, I'm like 90% sure the lasso task was actually a Face Off and not just an ARI. You can clearly see multiple times that there's two setups and both have a rope connecting to a single clue. Furthermore, the last team to get the clue (M&M) walked up to get the clue without having their harness attached, unlike every other team before them.
The probably did this because viewers might think it's unfair to force M&M to the back of the pack, simply because she couldn't do the task fast enough with her injured finger. But, hey, that's what happens in the race. Bad luck strikes again. No need to censor things like this...

Honey & Avivit had to have been the luckiest team that wasn't yielded or u-turned as they would always be last in every leg only to rise in the last third. However, their luck ran out this time.

My biggest pet peeve is when they first land in a new country and we have no idea why teams are in a certain order. Were they all on the same flight? Did they have different flights? I don't even know if they have to find their own flights or if production provides flights for them. I get that TARUS cuts out airport scenes nowadays to show more of the actual tasks, but Hamerotz episodes are almost twice as long as TARUS episodes, so you'd think there'd be time to show who's on what flight so we know why teams are in the order that they are in a new country.

Forget wondering what happens with flights and who's in what place heading out of the airport, there's an even bigger aspect of Hamerotz that I need to know more about: the finale.
First off, Hamerotz's final leg is actually filmed months after the rest of the race, which I hate. Instead of being exhausted from the whole race, the final three are racing on fresh legs, which is kind of negates the whole purpose of the finale. It's the final sprint of a marathon, and should be treated as such. Filming it separately is like taking a nap after 25 miles and then finishing the marathon, but without anyone passing you.
But the biggest issue with the finale is what they have done in the past two seasons: have an empty pitstop with a clue box telling teams to return to Israel to find out their placement. This raises a few questions:
First off, if the pitstop is empty, I have to assume there's a cameraman waiting there to verify which team came in what place. Because one of the host's jobs is to wait at a pitsop so that they can be the one to check them in and make leg placements official.
Second, how hard is it to keep it a secret during the flight from the final country back to Israel? There must be incredible tension going on between teams. This is a flight where one of the teams has won 1 million Shekels and only production knows who it is. That must be intense.
And third, who tells the teams what order to arrive at the finish line? Is there a queue? Obviously they can't just tell the teams that they'll be first, second, or third to go to the finish line because it spoils Ron's reveal. So how do they work out when each team goes?

So, I guess it seems like this season is a bit of a dud, huh? That's a shame, though it is still more amazing to watch than any given season of any other TAR. Compared to the previous five, though, it's a bit stagnant. I blame the really dull cast. Yossi & Udi and Nimrod & Yonatan were the only interesting ones, to be quite honest.
Still loving a lot of the tasks, though.

Second of all, there seems to be a LOT of luck based tasks taking place directly before the Pit Stops, and that drives me crazy. It's such a poor choice, design-wise. It makes pretty much the entire rest of the leg meaningless because literally anyone can win the leg or arrive in the top three (see above complaint)
Third...I don't like any of the teams that are left. I lost Nimrod, Yossi and now <spoiler> all in a row. It's TAR19 all over again. Why does the universe have to be like this?

's elimination coming. Even before the season started the Hebrew Wikipedia page for the series said that they had to go back to Israel because of a injury, so I knew it was only a matter of time. Except I assumed it would be an injury that would force them to stop racing, not an injury that would let them continue but make them struggle and put them in last. It was a lot worse that way because it was like a slow death.

I don't think there was a task cut between the Usain Bolt task and the frog task. When teams arrived at the drink stand, they were wearing completely different clothes than they were wearing for the rest of the episode. The same clothes that they were wearing this episode. I'm guessing that there was an overnight rest after the voodoo task. The Yield reveal board segment also had teams wearing Episode 19 clothes.
When Adi & Meitar got out of their car, I'm pretty sure I saw and airport fence and runway before they walked over to the volleyball court and tree. I'm guessing that the fruit stand was somewhere along Kent Ave. If that's the case, I think that teams went to the drink stand after the pirate task before leaving Tropical Bliss.

Oy va voy...
Well, Regev loses many points for behaviour that ruins yet another Face Off that could have been fun. (See the laughing challenge in Thailand season 2, the musical chairs challenge from season 2, etc...) Regev really is just a big baby. At the same time, though, Helen gains points for immediately calling Regev out on his behaviour, plus when she defeated Evelyn she immediately went "Get me out, I'm stuck, I don't want to hurt her!"
Helen has said twice now that she wants to quit and go home. I wish she and Regev would just do it already.
I really wonder how exactly tasks like the rigging-climbing task work, since there is clearly, unquestionably only one rig set up. Do they really bottleneck it down to one team at a time, or is there some kind of complex system of time credits and penalties to make things fair?
Was expecting the Pit Stop this episode! Surprised that a tiny nation like Jamaica had so much packed into it that it got four episodes!

While I am getting really upset at the level of pure luck-based tasks taking place right before the Pit Stop.....at least this one was really funny. "Daniel became a mime!"
I know it's the third season they're doing this, but it still feels so weird that there's no penalty at all for the last place team on a NEL. With all the Yields and U-Turns, you'd think they wouldn't shy away from handicapping a team in some way...

When I inputed the text into Google Translate after episode 17 aired, I got Grand Drive. Now, I get "Ganes Drive." Looking at Google Maps and listening closely to Ron, I think he said Gunns Drive.

I know I might be grasping at straws.
Comparing footage from grainy Google Maps of Gunns Drive, the first three houses on the race course are: a green house with a "cube" on its roof, a red house with a red roof, and a green house that protrudes inwards forming a "C" when looked at from above. Those also appear to be the first three houses of Gunns Drive. Also, the street is just under a half kilometer long, so it fits Ron's description of teams running 1 km up and down the street.

I need help identifying some of the foods featured at the task in the restaurant. I've got Pelmeni, Pirozhki, Olivier Salad, Shuba Salad, Kompot, and Borscht. As for the other two, I'm not sure. One of them was identified as "Krusha Leg", which I can't make heads or tails of, and the other I never saw on screen at all! Anyone know?
Also, I know we only saw it for a brief couple of seconds, but does anyone know which Moscow airport that was? If I recall, they have like four...

Hoo boy, what do we have for locations in this episode?
The laser task was said to take place on "Pudomania 9 Street", but Google can't make heads or tails of that. There's no labels on that building, and only a random sign outside that says "Faberge Egg Exhibition Moscow" out front.
The Roadblock is only said to take place in Sokolniki, a neighbourhood of Moscow. It's night, so the building they go into is difficult to see. The only thing I can say for certain is that this building has neon lights/LED screen that shows the current time and temperature right above the front entrance. You can see it when Yarden & Anne show up.
As to where they're going once the next episode starts, they say "Ramiantesv Acrobatics School" Again, Google can't make heads or tails of this...The Russian language sure complicates things!

You have to imagine that Meitar's stubbornness when he fails a task will catch up to eventually and get him and Adi eliminated. Then again there are one or two NELs left so you never know.
Also that mad scramble shown for the pit stop makes me uneasy for a team like Daniel and Eliyahu that has a yield. I really hope they don't get eliminated. Although all they have to do is get there before fellow yieldees Regev and Helen and they're safe. We saw Helen crying on the mat so that might mean they're going home. We'll see.

I totally get the Mariachi Madness comparison, but the potato task? I was thinking more along the lines of the second Namibia leg in Hamerotz 5 where they had to use a slingshot to launch a ball at what they thought was the right pitstop.
Also this last episode reminded me a lot of the Moscow legs in TAR 21. Not only did we have a time zone task, but a team almost got eliminated in 6th because they left something in their taxi. If only James and Abba were lucky enough to fulfill the "almost" part.

Mainly in how there were five answer options in the La Paz potato task and an incorrect answer would send teams to the wrong location. The Namibia slingshot task is also a fair comparison, it just slipped my mind when I posted.

Just a few stray observations regarding the last leg:
I guess there's no penalty for not having all your clues at the pitstop, or else Show content
Evelin and Tohar
would have been eliminated. Then again with the long legs Hamerotz has, it would be a hassle to keep that many clues.

Adi and Meitar
got eliminated while having the second-highest average of the season, and actually had the highest average heading into this leg. The only other team eliminated this season without having the lowest average among remaining teams was Nimrod and Yonatan.
Also I may have had the rest of the season spoiled by accidentally clicking on the spoiler thread instead of the live thread. The spoilers were on the first page and said that an already-eliminated team finished in 5th, so I'm holding out hope that they're wrong. I'd hate to watch this far into the season only to suddenly find out what happened.

I would have never in a million years seen this country as the next unvisited country to be reached. To be fair, though, I know next to nothing about the four "-stan" countries in that area.
I can already tell this is going to be a "fun" leg for me to track locations for. Already I'm having trouble finding anything they went to, since it was mostly in the rural countryside. The manure task took place on..."Politek"?

Ok so I'm watching the most recent episode, and I see Daniel and Eliyahu and Anne and Yarden together at the yield mat as the first two teams to arrive...but there are only two minutes left in the episode. As teams were eliminated, they were brought to a villa in Greece (except Noa & Ma'ayan). There, teams would compete in challenges to win prizes (parasailing, sailboat trip, call with loved ones). After Adi & Meitar's elimination, all the teams were brought to the Burana Tower including Regev & Helen (with the exception of Mor & Mor were removed by the show's medical team) to compete in a leg with the winner returning to the Race.

I knew it wasn't the end of the twist because the clue said that the school was "the first pitstop in this part of the race," and Ron said that "the last team to arrive won't continue to compete for the Return Ticket," not "the first team to arrive will win the Return Ticket."
And yeah, the worst thing to happen to this amazing season is the let my least favorite team (who JUST got eliminated) back in the race. Not only do I dislike Regev and Helen, but them winning would pretty much negate the twist and turn the leg they got eliminated on into a NEL. No thank you.

Speaking of the Wikipedia table, can I suggest a change for the table on the RF Wiki? Both Regev and Helen and Evelin and Tohar's relationship is listed as "married 2+ years," but I think the "+2" in the description on TV refers to the number of children they have, as it translates to "married +2." The only thing that debunks this theory is the fact that one of Evelin and Tohar's children sadly passed away, so I don't know why they would say that they have two kids, but either way their relationship should be "married parents."

Regev's a pretty big celebrity in Israel, so I can't help but wonder if there actually is executive meddling. There are so many times that they've been near the back of the pack only to somehow bounce back in one task. (the library in Mexico? The bubble task in Mexico? The models task in Colombia? THE PANELLAS?) I'd say that they made the twist just for them, but it was a thing before they got eliminated. You could have brought any other team back into the race and it's my least favorite team of the season. ***, HaMerotz. ***.

I also just noticed that Ala-Too Square is A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE PARK. There was literally no way those two teams could have gotten lost. I don't buy this at all. I agree with jfarbzz entirely.
I NEVER once EVER accused ANY version of The Amazing Race of executive meddling or falsifying results. Even in TAR Vietnam 3 when everybody else seemed to agree this was the case, I didn't buy it. This however just doesn't look real at all. Regev is far too magical to be doing this properly.
This season started out so well, with such a FANTASTIC leg in New York. Everything has been downhill since then. This is truly a black mark on such an amazing franchise, and it disappoints me severely.

The Blue team was accused of being "Producer's Pets", with someone claiming to be from production saying that producers fed them answers and solutions to tasks and worked behind the scenes to keep them in the race. When they finished in last place on a leg, the host said they were eliminated. Then later that night in their hotel room, someone (I think it was the host?) knocked on their door and gave them the next clue, saying they actually were still in the race and that the next leg started right now. They called it a twist, but audiences saw it as them keeping in the popular team by changing the rules. This was not helped by the fact that they won like seven legs in a row immediately following this. On the flip side, they DID finish in Show content

Me, however, I don't buy that. THEIR luck seems believable, and there really didn't seem to be any evidence that could be seen of producer meddling. When they showed up in 1st over and over again, they didn't MAGICALLY poof into 1st place like Regev does.

Maybe they edited it out of order? Maybe Regev and Helen really did finish the task first, but they made it look like they didn’t to create drama. But like you said, that’s manipulative editing, which is stupid and pointless. In fact, let’s talk about HaMerotz editing, because some things bother me. For example, they’ll show teams doing tasks at the same time (like the trivia challenge) even though there’s clearly only one station. Why not establish that there’s a queue and show teams waiting for their next turn? (I think I know why: that’s when teams film themselves, like we saw in the recent recap episode.) And as for pitstops, despite showing simultaneous footage of two teams racing there, we almost never see two teams on the mat at the same time. There are some exceptions, but it’s very rare. The one that stood out to me the most was in Russia. Regev and Helen arrived at the Yield about 8 seconds after Daniel and Eliyahu, so it seems logical that they’d arrive at the pitstop around the same time. But they arrive at the pitstop separately. Do they make teams wait for one team to leave the mat before letting another team on? And if so, why do that some times but not others? I just want some transparency, that’s all.

To be fair, this version likes to do more one-on-one discussion at the mat so they like to have only one team there at a time if it doesn't affect the results. I don't really mind that.

Not only that, but also some tasks have very similar ideas:
"Answer questions about your partner, if you get any of them wrong, they have to suffer." (The Mexican Six Flags tasks and the unaired task in Bahrain)
"Memorize ten things and then find them amongst hundreds of other things." (The clay pot task in Bahrain and the Buddha task in Thailand)
Also thank goodness we have a two-episode leg after multiple legs with four or more episodes. This season is already really long, no need to make it longer.

I'm confused by the fruit task. Why did all of the months have a quote or something listed underneath them? Did that have anything to do with the task? Also, why were their baskets set up for August, September and October, when the only ones teams needed to fill up were January to May?

I just watched the TAR30 finale, and OH MY GOD they also had a task where one team member learned foreign phrases and relayed them to their partner! Why are so many tasks so similar between these two seasons???

got eliminated, at least for my sake. I stumbled upon multiple spoilers that had them in the final three, so there's a good chance the spoilers I saw were completely wrong and I don't know who won. That's great, especially since I got TAR30 spoiled a day before I watched it.

In fact, Greece is definitely not featured for this season, but was visited when eliminated teams raced at the villa.

This has run on a bit too long for one season of the Race. It'll be 5 months since the premiere on the 21st, even Season 5 took less time than this.

This season makes me angry.
There's no other way to put it. I am angry. I cannot possibly fathom what is going through the show-makers' minds to think that doing something that makes their viewers angry is a good idea. What a miserable sight, honestly. A black mark on the brilliance that is HaMerotz LaMillion.
It's just a BAD bad time for TAR in general. First we have Head-to-Head challenges that render the rest of the leg pretty much meaningless, and here we have luck-based challenges before the Pit Stops that render the rest of the leg pretty much meaningless. R&H in last place during the baskets? O&N arriving at the umbrella place in first? All completely meaningless. They could just send the teams from the Pit start straight to the umbrella place and it would be no different. Why should I bother being invested in any of the Race if nothing matters except the last task in the leg?
How many have we had so far? There was New York (It's luck-based whether locals will agree to help or not), Hawaii, Colombia, Jamaica, Russia pretty much, both Kyrgyzstan legs (for the latter, again dealing with locals), and now this! This has to be some of the worst course design I've seen in a long time on TAR.
In fact, this only fuels the conspiracy theory! Think about it. Luck-based tasks before the Pit Stop are the perfect way to artificially ensure that Regev & Helen survive. Just have them complete the task for a bit, then slip them a correct answer when no-one's looking. Bam, they're off to the Pit Stop to Race another day and get those ratings.
What a travesty. I can't wait for this to be over, so I can hopefully look forward to Season 7 being a WHOLE lot better.

G.B.- I think you’re reading too deep into some of these tasks to consider them “luck-based.” It’s not luck whether or not a local helps you, it depends on how you approach them and how much charisma you have. Me personally, if I was a local who was asked for help, I’d 100% do it. As for the New York task, I’d say it wasn’t luck because one of the places mentioned in the song was Hawaii, and since Hawaiians have American passports, any American would count. It’s not producers’ fault only one team figured that out. Honestly the only “local assistance” task that I’d count as luck-based was in Russia when they had to find someone whose birthday was that day.
As for how it helps Regev & Helen...look, HaMerotz doing luck tasks before the pitstop is nothing new, and by my count there were only five this season (Hawaii, Colombia, Jamaica, Kyrgyzstan 1, Thailand 2). Kyrgyzstan is debatable because it wasn’t just based on luck, but also how well one person could lead the other, as well as their knowledge of the country. HaMerotz 5 also had a lot of luck tasks before the pitstop (Italy 2, Namibia 2, Vietnam, Cambodia), and there were no celebrity teams on that season. It’s shady that Helen found the right panella on the first try, but I do want to point out that Regev said in a confessional that he was waiting for her to find the right umbrella because she always had the luck on those tasks...only for him to be the one who found it. Either way I’m fed up with them and how they won the Return Ticket with manipulative editing, and they might be worse winners than Jessica & Cody, should that dreaded possibility happen.

At the end of the day, it IS a matter of opinion, but I really do consider "local help" tasks to be luck-based. People are all different. It doesn't matter how good of a salesman you are, or how charming you are, or how well you can communicate...some people just won't want to help, some people are too busy to help, and plenty of people (especially in Asia) do not want to be on camera.
The New York task is not exactly mitigated by the whole Hawaii thing. They still had to be lucky enough to find tourists from other countries in the middle of hustle-bustle New York.
I don't see how you consider Italy 2 from season 5 to be luck-based, though. That's a brain puzzle.

I think you're confusing Italy 1 and Italy 2. Italy 1 was the Roman Numeral equation task, Italy 2 was finding a marked record in a record store.

Looks like this season is a sandwich. The first leg (besides the primer in Israel) was fantastic, and this last leg was fantastic. I had a suspicion that they would finally have an actual finish line in Israel for this season, but I didn't expect it to be like this. Glad to see they kept the time differences and ignored the flight back home. I could not be happier with the winners. I feel like they underwent a beautiful evolution from how they behaved and raced in the beginning, compared with how well they ran the race towards the end.
...but seriously, Bangkok? Lame...

I'm rewatching Season 1 now (for Wiki work), and it's so much a different show. HMLM has changed a lot, some for worse but mostly for better.
Tonight I watched the leg in Japan, and got to relive the tense medical emergency that Margalit suffered. I don't mean to demean her suffering by saying this, but it was really enjoyable drama to watch that unfold. Margalit started feeling extreme pain about half an hour into their flight from HCM City to Tokyo...that flight takes five and a half hours!! Margalit literally endured my worst nightmare.
Her situation was really the only time in the history of the show that anyone was removed for a (For lack of a better term) "random" medical problem. Teams have been medically withdrawn before, but it's always something they did to themselves in some way by injuring themselves or pushing themselves too hard. Margalit just happened to get a severe infection, something that could really happen to anyone at any time.
I hope her and Hannah are doing well today. They seem like the kind of people I would love to make friends with.
