I think I figured out where #8 looks familiar to me from.
Just for Laughs Gags, it's a hidden camera prank show filmed in Montreal. I'm sure I saw a face like his on the show, but it's all silent (just music, SFX and laugh tracks) so it's hard to find the actors' names. Haven't seen a match, unfortunately.

I've been perplexed about this team too. Thought some kind of sports. Especially the one on the right, but I also think she looks like Tea Leoni so maybe that's clouding my judgment. I've looked on national cycling, skiing, tobogganning.

Hey guys, a whole different possible angle just occurred to me about team #8 from looking at them again. Notice a pattern in casting, each year they cast somebody relevant to something that was a big deal in the past year:
-2014: Canada's women win Gold in Olympic hockey. We then get Natalie & Meaghan, two of the team members, in S2
-2015: Jenner brings the transgender issue to the forefront. We then get Hamilton in S3
-Fall 2015: Ashley Callingbull becomes the first First Nations Mrs. Universe winner, and uses the spotlight to lead a high-profile campaign for aboriginal rights, urging them to vote against Stephen Harper. She is then cast in S4
One of the big things this past year has been the Syrian refugees (citizens and permanent residents are also eligible). And they appear to be of the minority.
WindsorSue also reminded me that in the fall, Mike Bickerton tweeted about casting a team whose audition was "so good, he has no choice but to put them on", I do remember this tweet. I wouldn't put it past Bick, his casting has historically shown he likes people with something unique and inspiring to them.

It's a maybe still. I feel like there would be more of a tie-in with suits. They were wearing suits for the ---------------- and then did the same thing for the startline.
They (Joan and Brandon) were rarely in suits on their website. Their was one creation of a suit though......

I don't think it's a match for the Dufour-Lapointe sisters, one does look like Chloe but not the other one. And they will both compete in the upcoming winter olympic, I don't think they would be willing to skip 6 weeks of competition and training to do this...Maybe next year. The hockey girls waited after the olympics to do the race!

I just assumed that it was Rosie as she is also a client of Manifesto Sports (https://manifestosport.com/athletes (https://manifestosport.com/athletes). There seems to be a significant connection between The Amazing Race Canada and Manifesto Sports. Jon Montgomery, Natalie Spooner, Meaghan Mikkelson, and Jesse Lumsden (son/brother of the Lumsdens that raced). There may be more links too.

Just a thought re: team #6. The guy looks bulky, like a football player. And the girl is gorgeous, like a football player’s girlfriend. I don’t know much about football (I’m more of a hockey girl), but I do know that the Saskatchewan Roughriders are one of THE football teams in Canada. Since the running theory is that there will be a Sask team, could be a possibility?
Also, :hello2: I’ve been following along for years (10+ maybe?) but never commented. I worked on TARCan back in S2 when it was filming in Victoria. During filming (while they were filming the tea challenge at the Empress) I checked the RFF site and was impressed to find out that you all were keeping up in real time.
Kudos to this amazing team of talented people, it’s why I keep coming back here regularly :hearts:

If we were to get Saskatchewan's first team this year, a Roughrider would be a fitting choice. They are the Green Bay Packers of Canada, they're huge.

Kinda late now, cast announcements should be about 2 weeks away.
Theory about the #7 guy, no disrespect :) Something about his smile (seen it many times on my brother who has autism) and the attire, I wonder if he could be Asperger's or similar, like Zev of TAR15. In 7/10 teams already IDed, doesn't seem like we've found the "adversity" racer that has been a staple of Canada's casting. Don't underestimate their ability to race, they're known to be quite intelligent :)
Another staple is the immigrated racer/team. Looking at possibly #3 for that one.

Nearly gasped when this just now popped up on my Facebook feed, as I follow the CTV Lethbridge affiliate.
Unfortunately it's not a good news story, they're missing after a light-aircraft flight. If it is them and they're not found safe, that could most likely derail the airing of this season altogether.

Not her after looking closer. The woman in the news story has more squarish black frames (the racer has gold frames) and lip rings.
Ah well, not much longer anyway. The cast announcements pretty much have to be out next week. Leaving enough time to hype it up and the racers to do their local media blitz.

Found some additional info on Team 10 F/F, Andrea Croxen. Not only she is a certified Yoga Instructor, she's also an Actress and a Model as well.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, on July 21st, 1987, Andrea Croxen has pursued acting since the age of 17, while working full time and finishing her studies in Public Relations. She has recently decided to leave the corporate world to dedicate her time to her passion for acting. Andrea has taken acting many acting studies and workshops , but she says where she really fell in love and felt she acquired most experience would have to be her debut in the cult film "15:01" as the lead actress. Since then she has been hungry to learn more and more and to push her talent to join the list of great actresses whom she admires. From comedy to action and drama, Andrea is a free spirit and a true chameleon in her craft. While on her journey towards acting, she also fell in love with yoga and is looking into getting her yoga teaching certificate done in the upcoming year. Thus she will bring both talents into play in her career as an actress.

I know you don't choose the teams base on location, but I mean come on.... With a population of one million it's almost impossible NOT to have interesting teams.

As an Ontario resident dreaming of one day being on the race, it would be nice if they didn't simply assume Toronto = Ontario. I realize the population of Toronto is huge but come on, 3 teams out of 10?! Would love to see a northern Ontario team (of course I am biased).
