Detour: Work Bench or BenchworkBenchwork is measured by newspaper length: makes more sense.
In Work Bench, teams must assemble 27 Swiss spartans to receive their next clue. In Benchwork, team's must figure out how many people can sit on the row of famous benches on a promenade within a specified range to receive their next clue.
"Por favor?" :tantrum :groan: Ayiyi, I don't know what to say to these teams anymore.
Brodie & Kurt leave at 10:22 AM.
Phil: Teams must now make their way to Geneva, Switzerland.
Tyler & Korey leave at 10:30 AM.
Korey: Three legs in and we're in the Top Two. We've been best friends for 8 years, we need good communication and we got that.
Burnie & Ashley leave at 10:48 AM.
Dana & Matt leave at 11:19 AM. Brittany & Jessica at 12:00 PM, Sheri & Cole at 12:44 PM.
Erin & Joslyn at 1:27 PM.
Tyler & Korey arrive at the airport. All teams on the same flight!
Teams arrive in Geneva, Switzerland!
All teams running!
Tyler & Korey get the next clue directing them so *something* Geneva.
Everyone follows. Scott & Blair are currently in last place
Burnie & Ashley arrive and grab the first departure time! Erin & Joslyn in second, didn't catch everyone else but Brodie & Kurt and Scott & Blair are last.
All teams must now stay overnight.
duh it was linear with three different flights how could it NOT be different? :res:
Blair has done the least amount of effort on the race - ever.
Go Burnie & Ashley!!! :hoot: :hoot: :hoot: :jam: :jam: :jam:
Some good tasks but I'm REALLY not happy with the teams... If Brittany (or Jessica?) Manages to finish the Roadblock herself then she wins in my book.

1. Brodie & Kurt
2. Tyler & Korey
3. Matt & Dana
4. Burnie & Ashley
5. Zach & Rachel
6. Erin & Joslyn
7. Sheri & Cole
8. Scott & Blair
I THINK
But for a "big footrace" that was the least suspenseful thing ever :groan: (in terms of editing)
So close!!! :o :o :o
The bunch up!!! :ascared :ascared :ascared Too much, too much, but whoa! :ascared :ascared :ascared The bad thing about having a pit stop in another city.
The footrace determined fastest to slowest. :groan: :tantrum (:;)
Oh yes, how could I forget? :groan: :lol:Blair has done the least amount of effort on the race - ever.
Dave on TAR22 post-injury would disagree.
It was so intense, but the end results ruined it. :tantrum :groan: (:;)This, I will agree with. Sums up what I think of this episode though the army knife Detour option was a bit boring to watch.
Still a great leg though with great tasks and teams near each other.
Were Jessica & Brittany the only team to do the Detour and Roadblock with no help? If so, that's really...
How did they do the Detour with help ???Were Jessica & Brittany the only team to do the Detour and Roadblock with no help? If so, that's really...
IIRC the teams that did the Swiss Army Detour did it on their own.
But yeah, they were the only one who didn't do the Roadblock with any help =/
"What country is Switzerland in?"
"Por favor?"I thought it was clear that he realized his mistake right away. I studied both French and Spanish and make stupid mistakes like that occasionally, especially when stressed.
I can remember the earlier mass footrace to the finish mat, actual there were a couple over the years, one for first place, the other to avoid last place, but I am having trouble figuring out which TAR all-star season Phil was referring to. There has been 2 actual all0stars 11 and 24, and the Unfinished Business, 18. IIRC, the race to avoid last place I think was season 9.TAR 24 Leg 2
Thank you! I am tired tonight after a busy week resolving some computer problems that kept me up four nights running until 3 am! Now all I have left is to send the Kindle in for repairs, and see if I can solve an issue with my Garmin device when I get a new set of cable/cord accessories tomorrow. And then I have to start on the 2016 release update for "the" book, which I submitted in July and came out December 1st.I can remember the earlier mass footrace to the finish mat, actual there were a couple over the years, one for first place, the other to avoid last place, but I am having trouble figuring out which TAR all-star season Phil was referring to. Still a great leg though with great tasks and teams near each other. :hrt: A penalty could've been deadly enough. :funny:
Jessica & Brittany reminded me of Caroline & Jennifer. They work better by relying on another team. I see them as a weak team, but their elimination is sad and pathetic. :o :ascared :( They missed the train by seconds, and they even saw it leaving in front of them. Funnily, I'd consider this a new addition to the 9th place curse. :funny: They had a chance to make it, they just had bad luck with that. Things would probably have changed had they chosen the other detour.
From the preview, could it be an injury!? :o :ascared
I'm fine with Jessica and Brittany getting eliminated, they should have been eliminated anyway based on their Detour and Roadblock finishing order. In fact, I loved it that they miss the train. When you are at the back, you just become upset and dejected cause no one wants to help you??
They were NOT even running to their next train. At least Blair was aggressive in asking the teams to "hide" because she knew, in a foot race, her dad would not out run anyone... :(
Top 4 are the same for last 3 legs.Precisely.
From the preview, could it be an injury!? :o :ascaredJust teams near each other I guess.
After rewatching the episode, I realized that the models went past the detour location they had originally chosen. :groan: Afterwards, they just followed Sheri & Cole and switched to the other detour.
If I know I could excel in a task (one of them said she has a kit to make her own Swiss knives), I would've gone for that instead of switching just because I couldn't find the place.
Also, I realized that it's good to have teams bunched up at this pit stop, because the next leg could've been a linear leg. :ascared That's the advantage of the 8-way footrace. I still don't like it though. (:;) Burnie & Ashley were robbed!

It depends. Like Denise and James last season couldn't find the Detour place and they had to go with Rap detour instead.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Detour finishing order may have been different (or closer) if teams didn't share answers... Same with the Roadblock (yes, it was straightforward, but they did split up the work between each other).I'm fine with Jessica and Brittany getting eliminated, they should have been eliminated anyway based on their Detour and Roadblock finishing order. From twitter they were not running because they did not have tickets for the train yet and KNEW they could not make it. Also only had US $$ so did not think they could buy a ticket on the train.

why are you talking to yourself
Side Note: It's so depressing to have the teams you love or like always at the bottom and not even in the Top 3 of the leg -_____-
Brittany said on her Twitter they were an hour behind, so Scott & Blair can have all the time that they need while not getting eliminated if the pit stop was around Geneva. :)

I did see that actually, but I assumed they meant they were an hour behind at the Pitstop, and not at the Train Station, because teams DID spot them at the Station? Right? I mean was that not the reason for Blair trying to hide?

I assume it was at the train station. ???
Anyway, I think Scott & Blair have enough time. They were even with Erin & Joslyn, so if they get lost, I doubt it'd be too serious since 2 teams work better than 1. ;)
Jessica  But it was misleading editing actually."What country is Switzerland in?"
Which one asked this? I heard it but can't remember who it was.
Wow at Brodie & Kurt not meeting all the teams yet. :o I know it's possible, but it's already Leg 4, and wow! They all DID meet before, he just didn't see some teams (Scott & Blair in particular) during legs 2 and 3.
Also how did we miss a eight-way footrace / eight teams leaving on the Chamonix web cam? :funny:IIRC, that webcam wasn't live and just provided shots at certain times in (maybe) 15 minute intervals. So we just happened to get shots right before and right after those 8 teams checked in.
What if the pit stop was just in Geneva?Lol this is 5 times better.
1st: Burnie & Ashley
2nd: Brodie & Kurt
3rd: Sheri & Cole
4th: Matt & Dana
5th: Tyler & Korey
6th: Zach & Rachel
7th: Scott & Blair
8th: Erin & Joslyn
9th: Jessica & Brittany

Burley getting 1st <3
Different winners on all 4 legs <3
Leg 5 is going to be a chocablock full leg, I am sure they needed to get them there to get things rolling early. It may be our most visualizing striking leg of the season! But is it worth ruining the previous leg? That train ride to Chamonix made nothing else count besides the teams' physicality.

They could've made the pitstop in Geneva, made the leg KOR and then teams immediately take the train. If needed, there could have been an HoO somewhere in Chamonix. Here's your solution -- nothing changes for production, but at least the Swiss leg and the efficiency of teams has some bearing on their placements...
And if they badly wanted to eliminate a team in leg 4, they could've introduced a new twist - a KOR leg with an elimination.
Or if they did not want a KOR on this one, they could've made a longer pitstop in Geneva, so that teams arrive in Chamonix whenever production wants/needs.
;)

I agree with Marionete.
Also, they can move the teams to Chamomix during the pit stop. They've done this in TAR16, in between Legs 4 to 5. Leg 5 of that season was linear, but I'd prefer linear legs over pit stop placements getting arranged from fastest to slowest team by footrace. :hand:

This.
I suspect the time frame for trains the following day if the pit stop had been in Geneva would have been too late with the tasks that are planned. As it was, the teams arrived well into the evening as shown. So it made sense to have the travel the afternoon and evening before, so teams have enough time for leg five.
Btw this season feels like an early TAR season to me. NO SPOILERS PLEASE kinda relevant tasks so far on every leg, all the meh teams getting eliminated first...Nicely edited eliminations/sendoffs, M/M teams dominating
4 episodes into this season and I think I can legitimately declare it better than that season which shan't be named.
The models are too poor in the roadblock
I would have cried immediately when i saw everyone was working in a group while no one was willing to work with her
Blair seems rude when she ignored Jessica in front of her face

I wonder why nobody was willing to work with Jessica.
You did write a spoiler, though it was rather minor and not blatant enough for me to consider reporting. I'll PM you.

They needed a last team behind, especially Scott & Blair since they can't outrun Brittany & Jessica.
It may have been rude, but it was strategic enough. My sympathy is still on the models this leg. :(
I think the flag identification task was straight forward enough that team collaboration was not needed. Sure, any task can be faster if someone just gives you an answer (like the bench task), but the flag answers were RIGHT THERE, in the form of the flags on the map. If Jessica had focused her attention on the task at hand rather than trying to sway the group dynamics, her team probably could have survived another day.
