I keep waiting on them to visit Madrid, and don't know why they've never gone. Western Europe, capital city...seems like all the pieces are there.
What are some other major cities that would be great potential candidates, but have never been visited?
(Note, I'm talking the US version.)
Others:
Montreal, Toronto - but these seem to be prey to TAR's seeming disinterest in visiting Canada. Oops. They went there in the Family edition.
Dublin (another Western European capital city without a visit...)
(Note, the purpose of this thread isn't necessarily a wishlist, which is why I didn't post it in another thread. The point was to compile a list of non-visited (major, potential) cities. Feel free to lock/move if this seems redundant.)

Melbourne, Australia
Frankfurt, Germany
Nassau, Bahamas
Bogota, Colombia
Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Busan, South Korea
-
Both Montreal and Toronto were visited in the family edition.
Oops! Shows how much that edition has stuck in my mind...

Canada was really more for back in the old days when they used to pack an extra country into the final leg (I kinda miss those days).
Really can't think of any. A couple came to mind: Casablanca, Morocco; Helsinki, Finland (a country which by the way has yet to get 1 Pit Stop, unlike the rest of Scandinavia), but Wiki says they were both visited for like 1 task.
-
Bangalore, India and Naples, Italy
-
Sapporo, Japan
Vladivostock, Russia
Koh Samui, Thailand (I know they held Elimination Station there, but why not the leg? Another Thailand's island choice rather than Phuket)
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Adelaide & Melbourne & Hobart, Australia
-
There was a quick stop in Adelaide in TAR2...they landed, then signed up for flights to Coober Pedy in the outback. (But that's it...practically non-visited.)
-
Manaus, Brazil could be added (Amazon).
-
I could add several brazilian cities.
Manaus, Brazil
Goiânia, Brazil
Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Brasília, Brazil
Curitiba, Brazil (near Foz do Iguaçu)
Florianópolis, Brazil (beautiful!)
Porto Alegre, Brazil
-
Chongqing, China (Is the CR episode worth watching?)
Jakarta, Indonesia (Asia 1's very first elimination, yet every other major Javanese city between 19-23 instead?)
Fukuoka, Japan (Avenge Sawaka and Daichi!)
Thessaloniki, Greece (Only after Athens 2.0, Santorini, Crete, Kefalonia, etc. given the show's priorities.)
Antwerp, Belgium (Endless Dutch trips when the Flemish side has just one season under its belt?)
Nairobi, Kenya (5 had no tasks there and 22 would've been far more watchable here rather than the site of Brian and Greg's last stand.)
Guayaquil, Ecuador (Just as a launching point for a premiere/penultimate leg in the Galapagos.)
Vancouver, Canada (Fat chance of it beating Australia 2 and Canada 1's episodes, but still.)
-
I'm kind of surprised but somewhat not that Wellington, New Zealand hasn't been visited yet.
-
Shenzhen, China
Kyoto, Japan
(:;)

I used Wikipedia to look at the 50 most populous world capitals, and then saw whether or not TAR:US had visited. Of the top 50, TAR has visited most. Here are the rest:
Improbable - (capitals of) Iran, Colombia, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, D.R. of the Congo, North Korea, Afghanistan, Jordan, Cuba, Venezuela, Sudan
Possible (population ranking in parenthesis) -
Jakarta, Indonesia (5) - only a previous airport visit
Ankara, Turkey (17)
Madrid, Spain (24)
Nairobi, Kenya (31) - only a previous airport visit
Brasilia, Brazil (32)
Luanda, Angola (35)
Pretoria, South Africa (36)
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (38)
Rabat, Morocco (45)
Minsk, Belarus (50)
Now, there's nothing special about going to the capital of these countries. Indeed, TAR:US has visited Turkey, Spain, Brazil, South Africa, and Morocco, so perhaps a visit to the capital would be superfluous. (I disagree, especially with Spain...but I'm biased, being a Spanish teacher.) And some of you may think some of my 'possibles' should be 'improbables' (Angola, Uzbekistan, Belarus, among others perhaps). But this list isn't meant to be anything definitive...simply informative with slight biases from my opinion. Also, note that my cut-off at 50 was merely arbitrary. i.e. I got tired of doing the list. :)
Anyway, perhaps you'll find it interesting.

As much as I hate to say it due to how cool of a country it is, we'll never see Egypt again, it's too politically unstable now. The producers even said it's on the blacklist.

Not really a major city, but this province is a major thing in international versions of TAR: Albay.
Why? The US TAR needs a version of Jig and Pig. :grins:
