No one is getting to Rio until tomorrow anyway, I looked up potential flights, and there are a ton of them between noon and 2 PM PDT and all have layovers.

Finally for the second time we have a midget team on the race since Mark and Michael, :trampb: I suspect teams will underestimate them and they'll probably end up as underdogs :cheer: anyway good luck to all the teams on the race. :conf:

1 team on first flight is so ridiculous. :lol: Better split to 3-8 ot 4-7. But maybe they're trying to so something new, just hope it paid out well.
EP to leg 5 is okay, since teams aren't likely to use it anyway to the point that it's kind of pointless (Only Jill & Thomas and CaroJen are the only exception I think that EP save them from danger elimination). Limit it to leg 5 will force them to use it more easily.
Is the save returning this season?

If I were in a racer's shoes, I think I'd rather go for the 2nd flight with everyone else. Being alone and not seeing any teams can mean that either the team is way ahead or way behind. Still, I'm really worried if the 1st flight gets delayed.

I hope the ff teams do well also -- especially the black ff team! And I hope the cheerleaders do well also.
The only team I dislike on first glance is the alpha-male team and that's due to my bias against alpha-male teams.

I am LOVING the look of this new season!! Very diverse cast, with the exception of lacking older racers, and more importantly, all pre-existing relationships!
As for route, with a South American start, I'd be expecting a very 23-esque route. I'm guessing just Europe and Asia after this, though would love to be proven wrong.

Pretty diverse cast by looks. There seems to be quite a few media people involved (TMZ, news anchors), a team of midgets, and such other types of teams/relationships we've never seen before or in a while!
Something that stood out - the first season since TAR 20 (excluding 26) to not include a blonde F/F team.

On Season 16 they were scheduled on different flights, but the first plane was delayed by mechanical difficulties at LAX, so they were allowed to fly the same plane.

After staring at starting line photo and Rio information for the past hour, here are my thoughts on the cast.
PLUSES: My first impressions - Love the vibrant, diverse group of teams this season! In my opinion, this is a mighty step up from the semi-failed dating gimmick. The return of the mother and son duo, the refreshing engaged couple, "contemporary-day Rob & Brennan" (best eye-candy I've seen since Tyler & James), African-American urban dancers and besties, and Chacattack all fuel my exuberance! I can't wait to see them run around the world and hopefully one of the teams in my "pluses" will win.
NEUTRALS: The short M/M team who are also cousins... nobody is replacing Charla & Mirna in my book :lol:, I do wish them a great race on the other hand. Likewise, the New York Jets cheerleaders seem like TAR is trying to replace Jaime & Cara.
MINUSES: TMZ, the paparazzi/school-crush stalker team, and they still cast dating teams after last season?!?! I already can't stand the dating paparazzi team by their profession alone.
In general, I am overly enthusiastic to watch this season! Hopefully the Leg route, tasks, and especially THE EDITING CREW can place TAR back as a hit show.

-Three Service teams (TAR20) (Rachel/Dave, Nary/Jamie, Art/JJ)
-Three Teams in the Entertainment Field (TAR21) (Rob/Sheila, James/Abba, Jaymes/James)
-Three Sports-Related Teams (TAR23) (Nicky/Kim, Chester/Ephraim, Ally/Ashley)
in the past eight seasons.
As long as they're entertaining, likable, and fun to watch, I'll root for them! :hoot:

I respect the entertainment newscasters living an honest and fun life, but some if not a significant amount of celebrity paparazzis that violate personal space and try to force a controversial answer out on the "big-name" they are trying to stalk so they can twist the words - that is the type who drives me up a skyscraper. I hope Logan & Chris aren't those kinds of paparazzi.

I'm gonna say that I love the diversity of the cast. However, I also have a similar thought about the 3 media teams. I don't like it.
The TAR20 triad are the ones I was fine with even if I noticed it. TAR 21 was on different fields of entertainment, which is a very broad profession. The one in TAR23 was the one I didn't like. It looked like the casting there was more through invitation.
Despite all that, I'll wait and see how the teams will do on TV. I didn't like Nicky & Kim being the Baseball Wives, but they were really entertaining to watch. :hrt:

I don't know if I picked the best day to comeback to RFF or the worst. There is so much going on is ridiculous. I'm excited though.
I don't see the diversity you guys are talking about. Almost all M/F teams look the same to me, tall male with dark hair and blonde female. Two of those are different because either the guy has white hair or no hair at all and the female has dark hair. Maybe on paper yes one of those is a Mother/Son team the other is Engaged but from a visual perspective I don't see a big difference. 2/3 M/M teams are just mirros with different ethnicity. Same with 2/3 F/F teams. All of them young and fit.
From what I've seen of TMZ I'm surprised someone from that office made it to TAR. I'm pretty sure most of them laugh at reality tv. It's pretty much their job.
I'm excited for ABDC dancers team and the other two F/F teams. F/F teams are such a toss up, I could love them or hate them. :umn:
Also... Can we talk about the "please stand next to this trash bin while you wait to run to the Starting Line" I think is funny :funny:

Exactly. This is why I try not to have a favorite in any sort of reality show. (Used to, but decided on watching for pure entertainment now.) I like to try to think of them as neutral unless proven otherwise. It's one leg. Give it time.

It's sad to see any great teams fighting for last place on the first Leg honestly, especially TAR2 when I loved both the Gutsy Grannies and Diedre & Hillary. TAR6 also hit this note for me with Avi & Joe, the ONLY M/M team running, and Gus & Hera, my favorite team from that season.

I've noticed that the most the cast this season has some similarities to season 14, they have former cheerleaders (TAR 14's Jaime and Cara to TAR 27's Tiffany and Krista), mother and son team (Margie and Luke to Denise and James), a midget team (Mark and Michael to Alex and Adam), as well as the same number of F/F teams and dating M/F teams (3 F/F teams and 4 dating M/F teams) :funny:

As legs go by Jaime & Cara placed higher and ended up 2nd place overall. Christie & Jodi, also S.14 finished 10th but managed to get higher positions in the next legs and even got a 1st place in one leg. Also rooting for Jazmine and Danielle, they seem to have that strong female team vibe going on. The F/F teams should reach the Finale, hopefully. :hoot: If Leg 1 was a NEL, Team TMZ (Shevonne & Kelly) would get another chance a la Maria & Tiffany (S.15)

Declive said that his team was too tired to go to the pit start. It's almost 24 hours since the last team checked in. did they leave already and we lost our leads? it's my first time on this board and i don't know how the spying works :D. I have found nothing on twitter yet.

Information usually isn't as readily available as it has been the last couple of days. It helps when they tell us where the start line is and where they are going on the first leg. :yess: It'll probably be slower and less busy from now on.
They could have already started leg 2. It's 9:45 AM in Rio. They could start later today or wait until tomorrow. We won't know until something shows up on social media. Twitter is a good place to look. That's where I do most of my work. Since Phil said 21 days of filming (22-24 is the normal in recent seasons), that means fewer off days than normal and makes something happening today more likely to me.

That video from Argentina is the best behind the scenes video of TAR ever! The crew telling the teams to wait until they come over to film them, the release form, etc. Awesome!

According to the behind the scenes video, Krista & Tiffany was seen feisty and have tendency of meltdown to someone (local and taxi driver) like Jaime & Cara. :lol: Hopefully they can go far and I'm rooting for them going to the final leg.

I think Danielle and Jasmine are the Celina and Vanessa of the race. I placed them higher than the cheerleaders and predicting they will be finalists.
Tiffany and Krista remind me of Kaylani and Lisa. Idk why? I placed them as top 5 is my prediction.
Both remaining ff teams seem strong so hope they both go far.

This season keeps getting better and better, in my opinion. The cast looks great. We had the return of Brazil, a double leg in Argentina with a suspected Switchback :hearts:, now there's a spec and sighting in Zambia. :trampb: What's next? Hopefully, undervisited European countries + new European countries, a new Asian destination (fingers crossed, hoping it is Maldives) and the return of Oceania (New Zealand, Australia, French Polynesia and a new one to the list, Fiji.). :cheer: :cheer: I came across an article with Phil saying, "This new season, we are going back to our roots, and we have listened to what the fans want."

This speculated Zambia is possibly Leg 4 right? If so, we can have 8 to 9 teams racing an African leg. :hearts: One of my favorite things in TAR is seeing "the more, the merrier." Meaning to say, more teams racing an African leg. :hearts: Last time there were 9 to 10 teams was at Ghana in TAR17; 11 teams, TAR1. I'm hoping this African leg will have around 9 teams. :conf: Also, we still don't know if Leg 1 was a NEL or not. ;)

Until now, if the Zambia rumor is true, I am REALLY EXCITED for this season. So far, the countries visited weren't visited for at least 7 seasons ago (Argentina - TAR20) and 26 freakin' seasons ago (Zambia - TAR1). :cheer:
My hopes are high for this season, just hope that there won't be disappointments in the future. :luvya:

So happy with the Meat roadblock switchback and the return to Zambia! Ever since Season 23 it seems like they are trying to revisit countries that they haven't been to since the early seasons which is major plus for me!

Do you mean this season?
I can't recall hearing Rob and Brennan being at the start line of any previous season since season 1.
If it was this season, then yeah, that's unusual coming from Phil, but at the time it could have meant anything, since Rob and Brennan won that very first leg of the first season at Songwe Village.

France in S26 was more of a stop to get the teams closer to Monaco which was the actual protagonist to that leg.
The "city of love" not being visited during a dating season is still weird to me so this leg was probably something they planned as a leg previous to the one in Nice and Monaco. I'm totally ok with this especially because I was there just last month.

We're going "retro" this season from Venice Beach all the way around to who-knows-where. Too bad they didn't start near Muscle Beach - a lot of throwback action from that gym. Imagine Phil working out on a stationary bike and introducing the start. :hoot:

In 7-digit seasons, namely TAR 7 and 17, all male teams were out as Final 4 approached. Could be same in this season? And in these seasons, they are great season. And, it become one of highest ranked in terms of ratings.

TAR has been ticking all the boxes for me on its routes, Brazil-Argentina-Zambia-France (I know France is overused, but we haven't had a leg in Paris for ages). :cheer: :cheer: Until I saw Netherlands which is a let down. We've had Netherlands last season. They could have used it for an underused European country or a new European country. The redeemable part is that it is not in Amsterdam, Finally! :hoot: I'm still happy. This season is just full of surprises :hearts:

IIRC, the show used the Netherlands as a leg immediately prior to having teams fly to India. (Remember how Chip/Reichen used a Dutch travel agent to find a flight that was ahead of all of the other teams?)
So it could be that we're now in the TAR 4 rewind portion of the route.

Up to date, the route is great. My only two small complaints would be the two argentinian legs (one would have been perfect, with two in Brazil), and the Netherlands (why not visit Belgium or Luxembourg instead?)

I kinda thought Zimbabwe would be a blacklisted country (dictator Mugabe, and major economic problems due to a hyper-inflated currency), but I guess it's not as bad as some other forbidden countries as they appear to be just border-jumping.
And Zimbabwe actually does appear to have a bit of a tourism industry.

Judging from the reactions the issue is the leg in the Netherlands and not Paris; the problem is we've hit like EVERY possible country well-connected by train in the past two years (Monaco and Germany last season, the UK, Italy Switzerland and Spain in that one season, and Austria in 23). The only improvent that wouldn't just force teams back into Paris is Belgium and I think production wants to pretend TAR 19 doesn't exist lol.
But anyway even though there'sno new countries the places visited FEEL fresh, either because they're new cities or not visited in 10 years or what have you. The route as a whole feels...grander than recent routes (hopefully the tasks are on the same level as the past two seasons). So far so good, this season has really has ticked all the boxes on all its routes so far (Although, The Netherlands leg could have been a different underused European leg). Such a diverse route with different cultures. :cheer:

What an amazing route!
1. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2, 18 - shades of Season 2 makes me very excited)
2. Buenos Aires, Argentina (5, 7 - first full leg in BA possible)
3. San Antonio de Areco, Argentina (new location, bringing back iconic switchback)
4. Victoria Falls, Zambia (1 - paying homage to the first season)
5. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (new location, amazing tasks by the sounds)
6. Paris, France (1, 10 - can't wait to see a full leg here as was in Paris this time last year)
7. The Hague, The Netherlands (new location, excited to see a leg set here)
8. Krakow, Poland (11 - such a moving place, tasks at Schindler's Factory and possibly Auschwitz would be so powerful e.g. Season 11)
9. Agra, Utter Pradesh, India (1 - oddly enough I was discussing my hope this was the next leg(s) and a visit to the Taj Mahal would be amazing)

Though I appreciate the attempt to 'return to the roots' and visit major landmarks, etc. and previously visited locales, I do hope we get a season in the not-too-distant-future with a lot of new places. I mean, yes, Zimbabwe is a new country, but it's just right across the river from where they have already been, and San Antonio de Areco is just an hour or two outside of BsAs. Consider this: TAR 6 visited four new countries that haven't been visited since (Ethiopia, Senegal, Iceland, Hungary), and TAR 10 went to *six* new countries we haven't seen again (Finland, Ukraine, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mongolia, Kuwait). Having 27 seasons under our belt, I doubt we'd ever get a season visiting six new countries, but I would like to see other parts of the world. That's the fun of TAR...getting to experience all places of the world!

My opinion right now, knowing what we know, is they are delivering on going back to their roots and delivering what makes The Amazing Race, well, amazing. There will always be things we don't like about it (lack of new countries, repeat visits to old ones). After last season that appeared to be a step back, I'm glad to see it continuing off what worked for TAR 25.

If the penultimate leg travels to a new Asian country (e.g. Laos, Brunei) I feel this route could be the best in a very long time, so many amazing locations, tasks, switchbacks and awesome cast = hopefully a stellar season.

Given that in TAR 14 there was final 3 containing a Asian M/F, Ex-Cheerleaders F/F and Mother/Son, could it happen? There was similar teams, expect that Asian M/F relationship status were different: Tammy & Victor were siblings while Rick & Cindy is a couple.

I know many people will hate me for this, but I am over the moon with the route!!! Hong Kong and Macau are awesome, the Zimbabwe/Zambia combo will be insane and South America always delivers! Fingers crossed for some good editing this time around, I feel like its slipped off for a few seasons

I would love if teams went to the Walled City Park. To me, it does not matter if the international versions all visited this park. The U.S. version has never been there before and I think it would be exciting to see the sights of it being broadcast on my TV.

I still suspect that leg 11 being in Hong Kong and Macao is a back-up leg because of the delay in getting teams out of India and the fact that it was thought that this was to be a 21-day filming, which was today (Monday US time.) But it's also clear that wherever leg 11 was to be at, it had to accommodate getting the final teams to the final city even if a day later.
It will be interesting to see where we end up this season.

Is a return to Hong Kong wishful thinking? There definitely are more stuff they can do here and the HK legs they’ve had so far in TAR2, 11 & 17 are so good (but umm this is prolly my biased opinion :lol: ).
There hasn’t been a HK visit in 9 seasons and I am speculating that there will be a China visit in TAR27 as they seem to be doing it every 3 seasons now. They seem to distinguish HK from China (e.g. TAR10 Beijing vs TAR11 HK, TAR16 Shanghai vs TAR17 HK), so more likely than not if no HK this season but have China, then very likely HK in TAR28.
HK in TAR27 was not wishful thinking after all :lol: :yess: It better have had tasks though!

Figures that they would end up in NYC right when I'm on vacation...

As since half of the legs were "throwbacks" to season one, it seemed to me that NYC was a pretty strong candidate for this season just on that alone, and I said as much several days ago once teams went to India for two legs, duplicating the two Indian legs from TAR 1. My hope is that they used One World Trade Center (for obvious reasons) and its connection to the broadcasting of the show's first ever episode just 6 days before 9/11.

As much as I would care to disagree with the route choice in my head, I will accept the New York City finale for the theme of an essentially retrospective season. I would not mind whatsoever if they went toward Montauk and the Hamptons though as long as the leg is well thought out.
I will agree with the choice to use bold locations such as the One World Trade Center, (the birth of TAR in) Central Park, the Empire State Building, Radio City, Carnegie Hall, and perhaps a TAR10 and historic memory like the NY Daily News Building. It will add a unique flavor to the finale when production has been avoiding crowd-friendly places since the beginning.

Given that a) this route is a #throwbacktarsday and b) that the majority of the last visit in New York took place in a junkyard, at night, or indoors, I think there's potential for some amazing verdant scenery especially for the final mat.

And 24, by leg 4's airing I was seeing regular posts on the TAR Facebook page about how Dave & Connor won, in fact the entire boot order was correct. That season was badly, badly spoiled on social media.

The real question is have we have routes that overlapped time zones, i.e., more than 24. And we have, but it has been infrequent. But I like it when the Race goes 24 time zones or more, because that truly is going around the world. :)

As for TAR25, I remember seeing photos, but it wasn't clear. :lol: Lucky me. Thank goodness!

It didn't seem normal to me. They don't usually go more than a full circuit of the globe. Often they don't even complete the full circling of the globe. Usually a west coast start means a west coast end. Or Alaska or Hawaii. I found a hint from an unexpected source about New York City and didn't trust it too much because I didn't think they would go all the way to the east coast for the end of the race.

RFF sometimes knows, but unless there is complete photographic evidence, we CHOOSE to also not spoil the Final 3. Sometimes the SHOW is way more important than the spoilers.

It's really nice to see that the boot orders aren't clear for this season. It adds to the suspense. This season is both full of surprises and mysteries :cheer: I'm very happy that Tiffany & Krista made it to Leg 11 :cheer: :conf:. No one knows if they made the finals but hopefully they will. :hoot: Also hoping that Jazmine & Danielle made it further than Zambia (based on the timeline thread). I keep in mind what Peach said, "Just because they were not seen means they were eliminated." So there is hope and we'll know it when we see the season. Can't wait. I'm guessing its another great season like TAR 25, maybe even better. :cheer:

I've never understood picking favorites without any information about the teams. And when I did pick teams to be at least final 3/4 it was because there was enough to see what sort of skill sets they had. I watched two audition videos of Jazmine & Danielle, and they seemed like very regular, funny and cool people. Also, we saw Tiffany & Krista in a video in Argentina, which is probably why I started to like them - they just seemed helpless and desiring to stay in the race, which made me empathise for them. Besides, I ALWAYS tend to root for FF teams. :funny:

An exception goes to TAR6 for me. :lol:
Like what almost happened to a F/F team in TAR15, the only all-male team was eliminated on the first leg. I felt so bad for Avi & Joe. They were one of the few teams I could tolerate that season.
Still wish they had encountered the shopping bag lady. :hrt:
For TAR27, I am totally looking forward to this cast. None of the sole-gender teams seem like they will underwhelm with performance or lack personality, which the show seemed to be stumbling with since season 19. I hope this is the race that can overtake my top 6 seasons. Now it all comes down to competition with editing = TAR10-TAR17 quality.

What a lot of people don't understand is that if you look at all platforms, including the plus 7 and plus 30 numbers, TAR's audience has been remarkably stable for quite a few years around 10-11 million. Those overnight/weekly numbers the media likes to use (even though CBS and the advertisers aren't using them) are highly misleading.

What I really found enticing is the new editing style. A more professional look with an added spice of fun. Hopefully they don't revert back to the boring stuff of TAR21-26 during the season's run.

Overall the cast is great. TAR did a really good job. :cheer: Definitely rooting for Tiffany & Krista, Tanner & Josh (I'm guessing these 2 will form an alliance) and Jazmine & Danielle (With them last sighted in Africa, I hope they make it further than Leg 4/5). Also, Justin & Diana (Right from the start, first impression of this couple: Awesome.) :hoot:

I also think it really depends on what other teams call you during the race. That's where the hashtags (at least for this season) mostly come from.

After watching all cast videos, I disliked Kelly and Shevonne the most. Other than them casting did a pretty okay job.
My top 5 favorites were Denise/James, Jusitn/Diane, Tiffany/Krista, Jasmine/Danielle and Ernest/Jin. :cheer:

It's been a while since my last post but I'm really excited for this season for some reason. I'm not paying too much attention to the spoilers and don't really remember the ones that I did see so I'm ready to be surprised.

During the off season I managed to watch a bunch of Survivor so I'm also ready for Cambodia. There's like two or three castaways that I'm not familiar with so there's my surprise factor :)

I know I didn't like ep2 but I liked one part of it. Seeing all the teams actually read part of the Detour clue before leaving is much better than just quick-cuts to an audio cue of them saying "We're doing X" while running off.
Unfortunately after that it was back to the dumb editing.

I'm just curious if Ford sponsored this Season. In the end credits I only see Travelocity and FitBit. We have not seen any instances of self-driving from the contestants using Ford vehicles. Compared to previous seasons where there were self-driving tasks which really affected team's placements. ???

I haven't seen any Ford commercials played during TAR hour. But they have sponsored the show since TAR18. That's a pretty decent endorsement contract already. I don't see Mercedes-Benz returning for sponsorship in the near future though.

But now they're going to Africa (for not 1 but 2 countries! Which is rare in recent seasons. Ditto for South America), which tends to deliver, so presumably the season will pick up.

That's one of the issues I have with TARUS. Any time they came they went to Buenos Aires or the South - mostly Patagonia - (Mendoza and Salta were rare exceptions). They never took the teams to the Argentinian coast - that have an extension of around 4.500 km - or the Mesopotamia region or the noreastern area or the center of the country. So if you insist on going to the same places at some moment you run out of choices of tasks to do.

Another one: they have made legs in Patagonia, but they never were capable of design a leg in Chubut where there's a huge number of colonies of Welsh descent. That would be showing a different aspect of the country, far away of the stereotypes.

You know it's bad when you are absolutely blown away by the cast pre-show, then EVERYONE delivers in their own right particularly in the Secret Scenes, with a LOT of golden moments in them, but the show doesn't show it at all =/
We missed out on:
-Jazmine & Danielle calling the sun seeping into their pores as the Race began
-#TeamTMZ arguing more even though they were last and locals walking over to stare at them as they melt down :lol: (Leg 1)
-Denise & James not being able to get a taxi because they were in swimsuits (Leg 1)
-Phil mentioning the Pit Stop greeter as Tiffany's sister :lol: (Leg 1)
-Ernest & Jin having a cute moment teaching Tiffany & Krista dancing at the Airport (Leg 2)
-Logan & Chris arguing at the Airport after Logan pinches Chris and then making up 10 whole seconds later :lol:

-Another long minute on Leg 2 when teams entered the Cathedral
-Cutting down some time from the Roadblock on Leg 2 (the Roadblock was around 15-20 minutes or nearly HALF the episode beginning from when Justin & Diana get there [Other teams were just shown finishing and getting their clue])
Just my opinion IMO, but hopefully it improves!

The editing is nearly ruining this season =/
That holds true to what I think of the editing also. The new editors need to focus on the rapid, yet fun, nature of the race rather than blowing up moments that would make teams seem like the next Jet & Cord or pieces of work that "nobody should like". Pointless drama like petty disagreements and continuous "Aaron & Arianne-ing" (rivalry) serve no purpose when lighthearted and better understanding of a race or navigation performance are available.
I first noticed the choppiness during season 20 when Kerri & Stacy seemed to be just there. The insider videos revealed a lot about them otherwise.

Why do you think people shouldn't try to have some sort of game plan? It's a million dollars. I can name at least 20 allainces that made a big difference during the race but just ask the afganimals if an alliance would have helped them in season 23... Actually 23 of the 26 winners might not have won without having one and amy and maya had a 4 team alliance during season 25.

And to be honest, there are only a few teams who won because their alliance brought them there:
- Not Rob and Brennan because they were the stronger team anyway
- Chris and Alex ??? No???
- Flo and Zach, maybe so
- Reichen and Chip, ??? No???
- Chip and Kim, their alliance... wasn't so clear?
- Freddy and Kendra didn't need the help of an alliance to propel them further
- Uchenna and Joyce, maybe their alliance with Meredith and Gretchen effectively eliminated them, but they were the more important ones in the alliance and didn't really need one
- Linz Family, against Weavers with Godlewski and Bransens... but they were strong on their own anyway
- Tyler and James against BQ's... effectively eliminated them but they would have made the F3 on their own
- Eric and Danielle, no alliance and won
- TK and Rachel, no alliance?
- Nick and Starr, no alliance?
- Tammy and Victor, no clear alliance? Unless it was against Kisha and Jen? No?

I don't really think the teams in that season were in an "alliance"? They just did not like Kym and Allie as they were running their own race. The only scene I could remember about strategy was on the boat where they were discussing possibilities to U-TURN them because they were a strong team

I think alliances in general are fun to watch, I just didn't like it when it's EXPLICITLY made and whenever that happens, the editors make a big deal out of it and usually MY viewing pleasure as an audience decreases because I normally focus on the location for TAR, and less on the drama. And that may be why I did not enjoy TAR 22 because Mona and Beth and Youtube were targeted for unknown reasons (working with Jessica and John??) even though I was supporting Country Singers, Maxie and Bates and Anthony...

Jobby, IMHO, I don't agree with you. I think this has been a call back to the early seasons of TAR not just because of the route, and the cast; and let's not forget that the tageted team in season one (after Tunis airport) was the Guidos, and there was concerns of the other teams about the fact that the Guidos "had lived in Paris for two years.," and their knowledge of French was helpful in several early legs, until the teams got to India.
That is what the position of Team Green and Team Texas and the other teams is reminding me of more than anything else.

I just can't get into this season, the editing is really off and the leg designs so far have been lackluster imo which is killing the season! Such a shame too, I really like a lot of the teams and route!
In terms of ranking, it sits like this for me right now. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it changed before the season's over.

Right from the start, my first impression was this season will be great and so far they are not delivering for me. A sa super fan, this is a disappointment. They had the route, they had the cast :cheer: but the editing and certain tasks are :gaah:. Can they stop with the rivalries, I'm tired with it. Its similar to Season 20 where they also focused on those rivalries and those bickering teams even made it farther more than the likable ones, they were eliminated 11th-5th. I'm still waiting for improvements for this Season.

How I would describe it, is that when I actually watch it, it makes me interested & happy because it's TAR, but then when I start to think about everything after the episode, I find a lot of low points that make me disappointed with the episode/show.
It's just that expectations are bigger/better than the reality we see on TV, but it's still watchable, for now.

TAR 26 needed 4 legs onward to regain the momentum of greatness, so yeah I agree that 3 of first 4 legs was disappointed this season But we should be patience for now... Editing was so bad and only focused on rivalries between Team Texas and the green team but still they had great diverse cast and glam route so hoping leg 5 will delivered...

It's just sad that the first few legs are the ONLY ones for some teams and knowing who will probably get eliminated next, it makes me really sad that we only got to see very little from that team.
At least Kelly & Shevonne got major focus on the 1st leg, but I would've liked to see more from Ernest & Jin. (And I didn't care for the cousins, sorry)

I might be the 1000th person to say this, but please:
1. Show all the teams departing from pitstart
2. Phil has to tell every team what position they are in when arriving on the mat (the most important part of ANY race is the finish part and also the outcome, right?). I kinda miss this part, it's one of the "souls" of TAR
It's getting more and more annoying now. As far as season goes, I still don't get the vibe like TAR17-TAR18 era which IMO has the best editing of all seasons... We get to know every team and their story. It's very contrary to the Survivor which overall has the best edit on their recent seasons
Ironically, both shows have the same amount of time (42m~), and Survivor has more contestant to show than TAR

Taxis in Krakow are more common, but in nearby rural towns outside of Krakow, taxis cannot be found and unless they would take self-driving.

When a certain team comes in first, this is when we learn that there is no end to this leg of the race. The teams have to keep going. From that point onward the rest of the episode is meaningless. It doesn't matter who comes in second place all the way down to last place because no one is going to be eliminated. In these two-parters The Amazing Race spoils the end of the episode with more than twenty minutes left to go.
At least in the non-elimination legs, the audience didn't know it was non-elimination until the very last second. Until that final team stepped on the mat and Phil let them know if they were going home or staying, the audience was clueless. There was suspense there and an actual investment to watch teams get to the finish line. In these new two-parters The Amazing Race still carries on like the team that comes in last place matters. There are all the editing tricks and dramatic music that The Amazing Race uses to drum up tension but it means nothing. We know already there is no threat and therefore no reason to care.

HEAR HEAR. KOR LEG 6 this season is lame. You either announce the end of the leg with the first team at the pit-stop (and then risk squeezing a whole portion of the current leg to the next leg), or don't do what Episode 6 did... announce that Justin and Diana are safe and then go on to show the remaining teams!

In TAR 25, I find myself remotely rooting for the wrestlers for being funny and being evil but not too smart at the same time, surfers for just completely being lovely dovey, Misti and Jim being competitive but NOT bringing the other teams down (by saying who can't beat them or what and they got much more humble after the NEL SAVE LEG), Amaya for being the cheerful underdogs and Kym and Allie for being the really athletic female team that the race more than often lacked.
And the locations were fun, amazing, remotely interesting and tasks were, good.
This season, I find myself not finding anything to love about Logan and Chris, Tanner and Josh are slowly becoming meh, Justin is extremely annoying, Tiffany and Krista are inconsistent but acceptable (but still meh as compared to Kym/Allie or Amaya), Cindy and Rick are boring and Kelsey and Joey wants to be competitive but are just not that good. The focus of the reporter's edit is always to just try to beat the green team, and that takes whatever fun that they may have out of them. Only Denise and Earl James are delivering <3

Of so many cool things to do at a windmill (produce something local, make a pair of clogs and paint it, produce some cheese, make dye etc...), they have to find PAINTINGS OF VAN GOGH? LIKE SERIOUSLY? Even trying to reproduce a Van Gohg painting may be remotely interesting. But no, they have to put an unrelated task with an unrelated location.
That's akin to asking a team to go to a shrine in Japan and instead of performing a ritual, eat a piece of sushi? DO YOU SEE THE LINK THERE? The link is they're both related to Japan (going to a shrine and eating a piece of sushi), but the task and location does not match!!
And i'm annoyed by the Rotterdam leg because Rotterdam is FAMOUS... Like really FAMOUS for their artistic designs in their buildings. Even the Rotterdam Central station is extremely frontal looking, but no focus has been placed on the cool designs of ANY building. Like, isn't TAR all about highlighting the physical features of different locations around the world. It just seems like they're visiting Rotterdam because oh... they've been to Amsterdam so let's just go to another dam. :stare
When has it become a... oh green team is not first, oh green team is struggling, oh we have to beat the green team, oh the green team is first, oh the green team won the leg... excuse me while I go and barf.

And the ship task, they just don't realize that after awhile, tasks like the ship task will become repetitive. How many times can you show them performing the SAME RITUAL. I was shocked. I would have expected them to up the difficulty level by finding A DIFFERENT SHIP and saving ANOTHER ship. Not the same thing again and again. With this, it just seemed you need the most 3 times (15 minutes) to complete the task??
And of course the edit, I was so confused. Teams are taking trams every where but I don't know which they have to take. One moment Cindy and Rick is waiting for one at a tram stop so far away, and the other moment teams are at another stop? I know many different trams can go to a different location.. but at least indicate for us in subtitles? Like "Tram 9" or something like that.

Justin & Diana excel in the tasks but sometimes I feel their lead is just determined by dumb luck/race planning. SO many Pick-A-Number's (what happened to: "Grab your clue at sunrise"?), SO many linear tasks/waiting-in-line.
And on top of that, there are earlier flights/trains, which you can't blame them for, however.

Ever since Tanner and Josh started their decline, Justin and Diana did not really have significant competition. If not for their first leg mishap with the FF, the Green Team may have finished 8 consecutive legs in the top 2.
Speaking of which, do you think there will be a second FF? Or whether a second FF went unaired?

I seriously do not understand the hate on Justin & Diana. It was one thing when Rob & Amber were cocky in All Stars and completely blew it on the 4th leg. Justin & Diana do not talk crap about other team, they have not screwed anyone over, and they consistently play a smart and solid race. They have won 6/9 legs, 2 of the legs they didn't win were 2nd placements, and had they not went for the FF in leg 1, they probably would have won anyways. They are far better than Rachel & Dave in 9 legs. Add that to winning 4 legs consecutively, they are the ultimate powerhouse team, and they have shown no sign of slowing down at all. If you're really upset over the fact that Justin boasts a lot, he has the knowledge and the experience to back it up.

Underdog teams are fantastic, don't get me wrong. Seeing Josh & Brent and Amy & maya win after not winning a single leg are real accomplishments. I just cannot see J&D losing the final leg unless it's rigged tbh. :spy:

I don't want to hate them because they are great racers and are running a race with almost no mistakes. They have prepared and are superfans so I should be rooting for them. And they are also enjoying the race and that is awesome so I blame the edit for my dislike to this team.
They have been overedited to the point that is all about them. A little cockiness would be fine if it wasn't shown all the time and more often than not teams at the mat or in confessionals are asked about Justin&Diana instead of their own race.

IDK... Justin is almost cockier than both Art and JJ combined.
During Rotterdam, he kept saying on how if they got to the Detour and another team was there, they would leave in first. There are also 999999 confessionals about him aleays wanting to be in first and when he's not, he'll be really pissed off (see Rotterdam). And on Leg 1, as Reilly Queens mentioned, he was sadder about not winning the leg than being the first team out. WTF?
That's a major problem for me.
I think what I really hate is that he tries so hard to pander to the camera and Diana will just stare there awkwardly :lol: It's never NOT cringeworthy.

While I agree that robotic memorization does not make one a superfan, it doesn't make sense that someone who just watched all seasons 2-3 times would not remember certain events, especially during Leg 1 when there's little fatigue, just adrenaline. Justin should have at least remembered that TAR2 went to Rio, as did TAR18, but he made no mention of it. Additionally, TAR23 only aired two years ago, and if someone studied the race as carefully as Justin says he did, he should know that no Fast Forward is a guarantee, therefore caution would be needed, and that a FF dealing with air would have to depend on the wind conditions.
I don't care if he is a superfan or not, but because it's brought up by editing and himself so often, I would like some concrete proof to that claim.
Watching the Race every night does not alone make one a superfan.
Memorizing facts about the race is not required to make one a superfan.
And, most importantly, racing super well does not make one a superfan.

This is where I think you're looking for more reasons to hate them. Wasn't there an insider video where Logan was joking about Justin's superfan behavior? She was joking how he would say things like "Oh, in Season 2...! In Season 3..!" That is a superfan to me :lol:

I make my opinions based on what I see during the show, and I happen to friend request a plethora of teams, even those I'm not a fan of. I don't know the ones that do accept me irl, so I can't vouch for their personality elsewhere. If I ever say someone from the race is nice, it's based on how they either are on the show, and/or if they're nice to the other teams.

I guess Justin is just this season's Hayley (from TAR26). For them, their personality can rub you either way, that's all. The two of them are generally competent racers who are not malicious.

I'm in the minority here. I love Justin's enthusiasm because it just comes off as natural to me. I don't hate them for winning so many 1st places (remember when everyone was "surprised" when Rachel & Dave kept winning?), I just do not like how the editing is mostly focused on Justin while putting Diana in the background. It's like an emphasized edit of Misti & Jim.
Main issue for me is the lopsided, travel log-like editing.

It's distracting. Having fun: Not being careful with the fast forward is obvious, he was overly excited about being on the race and it just began for him. It's pretty obvious he knew the risk he was taking, but he wanted him and Diana to be in the lead early and maybe stay there. As for the U-turn: Why make unnecessary enemies?

Both U-turns, they got there first. It wouldn't make any sense to damage another team if you're in the lead and are almost guaranteed to win.

I don't like the concept of this new U-Turn. Placing it before the ACTUAL task seemed to contradict the concept of the U-Turn in the first place. (How can you even get U-Turned when you haven't even going anyway yet.)
Bringing back the single U-Turn is good step in the right direction. But NO more U-Turn RIGHT in front the Pit Stop, placing it before the Detour or placing it in linear leg without the bunching at all.

With underwhelming and linear leg designs, it's easy for me to say that TAR25 was better than this season. :(

There are three major reasons why I hate Justin & Diana.
ONE. The key to a good Amazing Race team is to enjoy the experience.
Justin enjoyed it, sure, but he seems so FORCED when he's enjoying. Justin "enjoying" the Race is like a kid disappointed with a Happy Meal toy but still flaunts it around irritatingly and acting like it's the best thing ever. I literally cringe every time he yells or dances.
All of the teams say: "I love The Amazing Race!". Justin does it with Caps Lock and multiple exclamation points for emphasis along with overused smileys. That's how my metaphor is basically.
TWO. The show literally overfocuses on him.
I wouldn't mind Justin if he popped out only once in a while, but when he pops out MORE THAN TEN TIMES IN BARELY FIVE MINUTES IN THE SHOW ITS IRRITATING. Not only that, watch the previews for each week at the end of the episode.
Episode Two: "The tension between JUSTIN and Team Texas..."
Episode Three: "It's between Team Texas and JUSTIN AND DIANA..."
Episode Four: "JUSTIN AND DIANA walk with royalty..."
Episode Five: "JUSTIN flips out..."
Episode Six: "The tension escalates with JUSTIN AND DIANA..."
Episode Seven: "It's a hard day's work for JUSTIN AND DIANA..."
Episode Eight: Nothing but they end it with Justin laughing :res:
Episode Nine: The first episode this season where they DO NOT show up, but other teams have not gotten the same editing experience? Really gross.
Episode Ten: Nothing because NO TEAM was mentioned but they focus on Justin crying
Even the recaps are now affected.
On Episode Ten, Phil's recaps have: "At the Detour... Justin & Diana stacked it up. While the OTHERS cut it up." So they mention only THEM and ignore the OTHERS? They couldn't selectively use at least ONE other team to say in the other Detour?
They are so forced down our throats that it's really bad. I (as part of my project) have been analysing these episodes. In TEN episodes there is a total of ONE AND A HALF HOURS OF JUST JUSTIN.
Considering there are a total of at least 450 minutes of the show by now, that means Justin has ONE FIFTH of the screen time. Like.... wow :res:
To further give proof that he is obviously production's number one fave:
-On Leg 6, on the bungee jumping Roadblock, they only showed Denise & James-Earl and Tanner & Josh reading the "Fly to Paris" clue. After third place (THEM) got it, they IMMEDIATELY just super-cut EVERYONE doing it and cut to the airport without them reading the clue.
This is also self-explanatory.

NEARLY HALF OF THE QUOTES ARE FROM HIM. HALF! ONE AWAY FROM SIX!
Plus, the edit has already omitted ENTIRE STORY ARCS AND RECURRING JOKES in the favour of MORE of these two :res:
We never got:
-Kelsey & Joey bickering and not being 100000% PERFECT COUPLE (Leg 2)
-Tiffany & Krista running out of money but Texas gave them (Leg 3), thus giving them a reason to work together and how LEG 8-9 IS INFINITELY SADDER AS A RESULT and PLUS they had like a LOT of scenes where they talk about each other that are only dumped to secrets
-Denise ALWAYS celebrating and singing and dancing in the Taxi when James-Earl completes a Roadblock successfully
-Alex & Adam's entire elimination story arc which was them getting dropped at a wrong place
-Jazmine & Danielle running past an Hours of Operation board FOUR times (In Africa)
-Not showing teams crying about being concerned for their team member (on the bungee Roadblock in Africa before flying to France)
-Teams running past the Detour clue and getting lost for finding the WRONG clue-giver (In France)
-A full explanation of how Denise & James-Earl did so bad in France (they went to a restaurant with the SAME name but no Detour)
-Extended Pit Stop chats are omitted (all with many fun extras!)
-NO. PHIL. CALLING. TEAM. PLACEMENTS.
-NO. FULL. INTRO. WTF? (The TAR24 days are OVER. No NEED FOR A SHORT INTRO!)
And for what? Just so we can see another confessional on how happy Justin is to be on the Race, how EXCITED he is to do a task, how HAPPY he is to be in first, and ANOTHER laugh or dance or boastful comment. And not only that, this season GEOBLOCKS EVERYTHING. :res:
Here is my final point in regards to this:
You can never blame just the edit. Justin makes the content. Do the math.
Considering how this cast is my favourite since TAR17, it's very heartbreaking to see the other teams not get the justice and screen-time they need. Almost everyone is so one-dimensional except these two. These two are like Jeremy and Tasha on this season of Cambodia: They are IRRELEVANT to the week's story but they are STILL SO CP (Complex Personalities via Editing)
THREE: HE. IS. COCKY. AS. F***.
On the first leg, he was more concerned about not coming in first than being eliminated.
He has had multiple confessionals and statements of: "ANOTHER FIRST PLACE IN THE BAG!"
"HAHAHA WERE FIRST"
"If we get there and there are other teams there, we're leaving in first"
"HE SAID NO HE MEANS NO" (in response to Tanner & Josh failing the meat Roadblock)
"HAHAHA I COULD DO IT BETTER THAN HIM" (in response to Tanner/Josh failing the first Argentina Roadblock)
He LITERALLY assumes they will GET TO U-TURN the MINUTE they start the 10th leg. How confident is he that he already ASSUMES he will get first?
He is also frustrated the minute things do not go his way. Look at how he reacted during the Amsterdam Roadblock. He was more concerned with not getting first instead of avoiding elimination when Diana failed a little. In the Secret Scenes, Tiffany said it best: "Everytime something doesn't go his way, he just frowns, grabs his hat, and starts huffing and puffing." He wants everything to be in his control and the minute it does not, he is more pissed at NOT WINNING than NOT BEING LAST.
If you've read this far, then I'm sorry for being over-negative. But I just had to get this out of my system. I've never had this much hatred for a team since Dave & Connor or the Hippies. *sighs*

This season is the equivalent of Survivor: Worlds Apart. Overhyped af, cast pretty amazingly, but edited very poorly + the boot order :groan:

I never remember what season/leg/task was when or what detour/RB/Uturn was best. Thank goodness for our wiki!!
But superfan I am.... Just saying.
And remember...editors get what they want.
While I agree that robotic memorization does not make one a superfan, it doesn't make sense that someone who just watched all seasons 2-3 times would not remember certain events, especially during Leg 1 when there's little fatigue, just adrenaline. Justin should have at least remembered that TAR2 went to Rio, as did TAR18, but he made no mention of it. Additionally, TAR23 only aired two years ago, and if someone studied the race as carefully as Justin says he did, he should know that no Fast Forward is a guarantee, therefore caution would be needed, and that a FF dealing with air would have to depend on the wind conditions.
I don't care if he is a superfan or not, but because it's brought up by editing and himself so often, I would like some concrete proof to that claim.
Watching the Race every night does not alone make one a superfan.
Memorizing facts about the race is not required to make one a superfan.
And, most importantly, racing super well does not make one a superfan.
So what does make a super fan, in your opinion? Planning your own amazing race in order to propose to your girlfriend? Oh wait..... 😜
I hope to someday run the race; I consider myself a super fan; and in no way would I, in the moment, remember every destination, location, etc from seasons past. But ask anyone in my life and they know I LOVE the Race!

I've recently rewatched Season 1 and I really miss those "24 hours behind" cases...
Also, I think teams should rely even more on public transportation rather than taxis. Anyone can scream TAXI!!!!! on streets, but can they get the public transportation right, or will they think Line 9 must take us exactly where Line 1 goes.

J/D is totally winning. It’s kind of disappointing not because I don’t like them but maybe because of Justin’s edit in the entire season. It just makes him look like not deserving to win because of his tendency to rub it in the face of other teams or of the audience (again based on his edit). And it would take me a lot of time to ACCEPT it that TAR allows that kind of edit to a person, unless that person is really that insensitive and annoying in reality. And seriously I don’t want to hear his laugh, again and him raising his fingers counting how many legs they’ve won. Good thing they didn’t beat Rachel and Dave’s record. :iok :iok :iok
