That's true, but its only a coincidental pattern. Maybe it will hold true for this season, maybe it won't. Personally, I like them so far, so I wouldn't mind them winning if they give off the same vibe they do now.

Agree with that since they are my pre favourite team. But don't forget we have Tyler in this season and Tyler will always win in TAR so far . If you look the past season photo cast (TAR9, TAR10, TARAus1), all the team has Tyler was on the beside.
But anyway, all the couples are seem to be rootable in some way. But I rooted more for Blair & Hayley along with Tyler & Laura, Jelani & Jenny, Rochelle & Mike, Jon & Harley, Tuskegee and Jeff & Lyda.

My least favourite team because of Blair. Blair looks like he could do with a chill pill and just relaxed the entire experience even if he knows he isn't going to be romantically involved with Hayley.
Blair looks like he's exactly thinking about the constant need and reminder that he's wasting time "dating" a girl he doesn't want to spend time with. If these two turn out to be a couple at the end of the day, I'LL BE SURPRISED.

All in all, they're still one of the more interesting teams this season. I'm hoping they shine later on and go far, since they eliminated my favourite team :'(

My opinion is that Blair is an introvert and since he's paired with someone so extroverted, that can sometimes leave the introvert feeling pretty tired. In one of the extra scenes from the first episode, I think it was somebody on the last flight with Blair and Hayley who said that she was talking his ear off the whole time. Introverts recharge by being alone, while extroverts recharge by being with people, so in some ways I could see that Blair is in a situation that would be pretty stretching relationship wise.
I guess what I am trying to say (seeing as I am an introvert as well), that I can see that Blair might feel overwhelmed by Hayley's personality, but he might get used to it in time and they could become a strong team. I know that as an introvert, when I'm having a lot of new experiences and new relationships it can result in some sensory overload. Then, because I'm trying to process it all, I can sometimes be pretty reserved and quiet, which can come across as being cold towards others. I think they might warm up to each other over time.

I think no one in this season will be a couple. The blind dating around the world thing doesn't really look like it would work.
Normally, people will see the beauty in one person and then the bad. There's always that compromise because you love the positive side of that person. You're emotionally invested in that side of that person that you will be willing to also take in the bad side.
But in the show, you'd see the bad side first before you see the good side because of the stress of the game.

Honestly, I think they could have won this leg had they not argued in the beginning when looking for the clue at the temple. Blair was kind of bitter and insisted on Hayley making decisions, which might have cost them in the end.
We'll have to see for the departure times to have a better idea, though.

I disagree, she said he could make decisions at that point and then immediately took back control. Every team has a narrative and they may well have bickered more than most teams, but watching the pit stop stuff, it doesn't seem like they are at each others throats or angry.

Yeah, I don't disagree with people that say she has been on him a little much through these first 4 episodes although all the interactions are condensed and traits are heightened by the editing. It says a lot that so many of the racers seem very friendly with her 3 months later. Hopefully they have a nice arc of maybe getting along a bit better and still doing well.

Hayley is nothing like Flo who let Zach carry her the whole way without contributing. And then whined about it.
Hayley is a savvy and perceptive racer, jut a wee bit controlling in this situation. Their problem is they are each highly competent racers with totally different communication styles. In a different situation or with a partner they knew each may have been more calm.
Anyway, they are all friends now!

I truly believe that Blair had those nagging coming. If you rewatch the season. Ep.1, at the start of the race where Hayley was struggling in the mud pit, you could see in Blair's face that he thinks he will carry the team on his own.
He disregarded Hayley so much in the beginning. Hayley got fed up and exploded. All of their fights are because of Blair not listening to Hayley. Well, thats what Hayley is saying.

I went back to watch Ep1 again, and found Hayley stating that she did not like the idea of the mud run, that she was high maintainance. Blair reached the ticket first and Hayley took her time to get there, allowing Jelani and Jenn to pass them. Her whole"girly-like" attitude probably came across that this was NOT what she signed up for, rather than being a good sport about it. I think she probably started to complain about it almost immediately. Then in an insider video in the hotel rooms in Japam, when they compared what they packed-she pulled out a blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron and two boxes of makeup. Just the quietness of Blair at that moment speaks volume as to what were you thinking. I have no idea as to Blair's sisters but if they are sailing in Bermuda or Bahamas, they are probably not girly girls but sensible ones. In the last episode-it is telling that even Hayley says that since she is dressed to the nines,then she is not arguing. And Blair agrees if you clean her up she does better. I mean, if you know you are going on the Amazing Race, you (1) know how to drive a stick and swim, (2) realize you will be dirty and stinky, and (3) be careful of what you pack as you are carrying it. IMHO

I actually appreciate Ticasmom's insight, though I like Hayley and this team overall. :)
You can't really tell solely from the edit if it was her constantly overreacting, or if Blair was actually racing as a team of his own sometimes.
People are different, Hayley's one who doesn't cool down easily. That's fine, this doesn't make her a bad person.
But if the items you listed were really brought by her... then that's just stupid. Either she was recruited (would make some sense then) or... wasn't very smart about her preparation...
That's just my insight.

I don't see anything wrong with someone wanting to look their best, and she hasn't complained about carrying such stuff ONCE. You can insult her all you want, but she's on the show and doing well, despite carrying "much unnecessary beauty stuff".

I didn't insult anyone :stare I like her and this team, so don't take my insight the wrong way. It's true that she never complaining about her backpack being heavy or something, I just thought it wasn't a smart thing to take so many things on a looong journey. Peace ;)

Hayley is hardly the first racer to overpack. I distinctly remember past racers also carrying at least one hair-drier in their packs. Usually what happens is that teams shed more and more of their belongings as the race progresses. She also seems a lot more competent, driven and motivated than some other past and present racers.
It is true that she comes across as nagging. But editing is a powerful tool to form our impression of racers so without knowing her personally I wouldn't draw any firm conclusions. The same basically applies to all other racers as well.

It's funny how Blair seems to bring out the worst in Hayley. It looks like, to me, Hayley is just stressed out from the race and taking it out on Blair. She seems a lot more laid back and positive in interviews and online. Hayley is also well hated by fans, but I think Blair is equally, if not more, at fault for their clashing. At some point, Blair needs to realize that Hayley has been right quite often and shouldn't just ignore her opinion on things. Hayley needs to work on how to get him to listen to her, but Blair seems like someone that just doesn't want to. Hayley is trying to communicate to him what the problem is, but the more Blair ignores her, the louder she gets. If Blair really wants to quiet Hayley, he needs to work together with her instead of doing his own thing.

First, I can't believe how long this thread is, especially compared to everyone else's. Second, if I had to run this race and partner up between Hayley or Jenny I'd take Hayley every day of the week. Hayley goes bonkers but then is all goofy and happy again by the end of the leg. Jenny just seems high strung and angry (the deleted scenes show this a little more).

I think the reason why I really love them is that they're not like other M/F teams who are likable purely because of one team member only, Blait is dry, witty, and sarcastic while Hayley is OTT (both positive and negative :lol:) which just makes them both very likable individuals who, together, have one of the greatest team dynamics ever.

It would be cool if they win, but if they don't, that would be nice if they could be on an all star show. I kinda wonder if Blair would be able to do a future show if he is already in his surgery residency though. It would also be interesting if they brought them back but with different partners, like if they have a new significant other or Blair with his dad. That way we could see how they act "normally". I have to say I thought Blair seemed a bit cocky in his initial video and funny how it seems Haley makes him like a kid, not a typical surgeon at all (I did my intern year in surgery so I know) lol

I'm really emotionally invested in them so I might still post here. Well, unless they get a more interesting team next season.
People compare them to Flo&Zach but I think that's unfair. Flo&Zach are the epitome of Good and Evil combined. While in Hayley&Blair, there's a bit in both. I know everyone has been in Hayley's back but remember Blair's "If a woman doesn't really meet my standard, I really don't want to waste my time." comment?

So sad that they didn't win the race... :'( I think this is the first time ever I'm so mad and disappointed seeing a team got it wrong on a challenge that I decided to skip the remaining episodes until when they both arrived at the Finish Line... :'( :'(
I actually once imagined them get in first at the Finish Line and Blair decided to ask Hayley out or kiss her at the mat, or the opposite. :funny:

Speaking of seeing different sides of people, you two were pretty outspoken about not wanting Hayley and Blair to win. Tell me everything…
Tyler: You know, you hang out at the airport occasionally, but you don’t really see the other teams that much. And consistently, any time that we did see them, they were arguing. We definitely just felt like that attitude that we brought into the race, like, “Hey, let’s appreciate every moment and be grateful for what we have” wasn’t something they had also considered. And I just really didn’t want someone with that attitude to go on in the race.
Laura: After the race we’ve all gotten to know each other, so I personally feel bad for some of the things that Tyler and I said. However, we were speaking on the way that we perceived the situation. People assume that Laura and Tyler are mean for saying these things, but that’s what we saw: Hayley yelling at Blair and Blair being a nice guy.

"I've been on blind dates and I've been able to leave if I didn't like it and this I was in it for the long haul," she said at Ferg's during a watch party with hundreds of fans of the "The Amazing Race."
Hayley, a nurse at All Children's Hospital, was paired with Blair Townsend, a Navy doctor, who she had never met until they got to the starting line in the show.

"It was worth every second of it," she said. "Good, bad, it was tiring. It was so hard some days, but we made it through and we made It to the last leg which was our ultimate goal."

Still fans cheered as a hometown girl crossed the finish line.
"May the best team win. We had our mistakes, but made it to the final three as a blind date. That's more than we ever could have imagined for ourselves," she said.
Hayley says she has no regrets and she tells me she would absolutely do the amazing race again.

'Amazing Race' contestant from St. Petersburg comes up short
ST. PETERSBURG — On a dozen flat-screen TVs on the Ferg's Sports Bar patio, an entire crowd wondered how it all would shake out Friday night.
Sure, the Tampa Bay Rays were on the road against the Minnesota Twins, but at the bar, just walking distance from Tropicana Field, eyes were glued to CBS' The Amazing Race 26.
They wanted to see whether St. Petersburg nurse Hayley Keel and Blair Townsend, a doctor from North Florida, came out winners in the final hour with $1 million.
They didn't. Keel and Townsend finished third. Parts of the crowd shouted encouragement at Keel, who was hosting a watch party with fellow castmates Jeffrey Weldon, Bergen Olson, Kurt Jodan Belcher, C.J. Harris and Lebya Simpson.
Others cheered for the winners, #TeamSoCal Tyler Adams and Laura Pierson.
As the show aired, Keel's trademark nagging of her partner grated on Ferg's patrons.
"I'd like to see how they would react in that situation," Keel said. "Anyone can sit on their couch and think they would be different, but until you're in that situation you don't know."
She had her supporters, though. Co-workers made #TeamHayley T-shirts.
"She's been really busy since the show finished, but she's completely the same," said Stefanie Tucker, 38, a fellow nurse at All Children's Hospital. "We're all really proud of her."
Friends have been watching the show on Friday night at Ferg's for months, sometimes drawing up to 50 people. This Friday night, the numbers were in the hundreds and many lined up to take pictures with the other contestants in the building.
Townsend had a work conference in New Orleans and planned to watch with castmate Jonathan Knight after a New Kids on the Block concert, Keel said.
Constant arguments slowed #RXForLove, Keel and Townsend's team, but never put them out of the race.
Keel, 28, moved to St. Petersburg more than 18 months ago from her native Ohio to be with a boyfriend, whom she broke up with six months after relocating. The weather's a little better than in her hometown of Niles, Ohio, so she stuck around and kept her job as a pediatric registered nurse in the emergency room at All Children's.
Keel auditioned for The Amazing Race with a male friend, but got a call instead asking her to be a part of Season 26's blind dating experiment. Producers paired her with Townsend, a U.S. Navy physician living on Amelia Island.
Keel was married from May 2011 until her divorce was ordered in September 2014. She said the extreme blind date with Townsend may have been affected by the fact that this would be her first time really dating in her adult life.
Initially, Keel and Townsend looked like a good match. She commented to the camera that he "was exactly her type" on the first episode.
As the challenges started to roll in, however, it became clear that differing styles of communication were going to make success difficult, and a love connection near impossible.
Keel complained in challenge after challenge that Townsend didn't listen to her, and even after a mistake, she'd hold a grudge and yell at him.
"One of Hayley's strong points is her inside voice," Townsend joked to the camera in one episode.
The fights earned them a reputation with other teams, who dubbed them the Bickersons. Fans of the show thought Keel was whiny.
They got prizes to show for their trouble: a Fit Bit Kit that includes an electronic activity tracker, a cellphone, a laptop, home exercise equipment or a one-year gym membership; a trip for two to India; and trip for two to Cape Town, South Africa.
She and Townsend didn't make a love connection, and Keel said she's proudly dating around.
"Blair and I are like the best of friends now," she said.

I read that Laura felt bad about some of the negative comments she made about the other teams. I don't remember Blair or Hayley saying anything negative except Hayley getting frustrated with Blair.
Hayley seems to love the entire cast from what I've observed. IMO if there's a division it was initiated by Laura not Hayley.

Just finished watching the re-run of the final leg and I just want to share my thoughts......
Blair and Hayley may have lost the race but they WON the hearts of their many followers because we believe that they ran a clean, honest(well, except for that one fib) and fun race.
Hayley may be "mean" but her meanness is only ever towards Blair, her teammate. She was never mean to any of the other teams and never to the locals. She never badmouthed any other team, never used any other team and never backstabbed any other team.
Whatever happens, this team will forever remain in the consciousness of all diehard fans. We will never, ever get enough of Blair and Hayley. :luvya: :luvya:

Hayley And Blair Miss The Mat On Amazing Race's Finale, Coming In Third
After traveling the world together as blind daters on The Amazing Race Season 26, Blair and Hayley raced their way into third place. Then we asked them questions fans submitted on Facebook. Here's what they said, in their own words:
1. Yelena R: To Blair: What was the story behind the piggyback ride at the final pit stop? Was it impromptu or did Hayley make you do it?
Blair: It was impromptu. We got out of the cab knowing that Phil and all of our fellow contestants would be cheering us to the mat as we galloped in. I wanted to do something special and memorable to celebrate our crazy journey around the world. Even though we didn't pull off the win we wanted to end on a positive, upbeat note. We dropped our bags over 100 yards from the mat and I had Hayley jump on my back. If I had to do it over again I would have done it at about 25 yards–she was accidentally (I hope, accidentally) choking me out. The spin at the end was just me being playful. Luckily, there were no injuries.
2. Zoe J: Hayley, when you watched the season back, were you embarrassed of your behavior toward Blair?
Hayley: I would never be embarrassed of something I did in my life or a way I reacted. I reacted how I felt at the time and in this situation, I didn't feel I needed to sugarcoat how I was feeling. There were multiple times I felt frustrated or written off by Blair. Going into this, obviously I knew I was going to be paired with someone and regardless of if we were romantically compatible or not, I wanted someone who worked as a team. Many times in the beginning, I felt Blair completely disregarded me and I wanted to have an equal role on our team. I knew almost immediately that Blair wasn't for me. He's very attractive and a great person, but just not my particular type. Being that I did not know him before this, I misconstrued him disregarding me as disrespecting me. Respect is huge to me, once I felt disrespected after trying to play an equal role on the team, my guard was up and I was over it. Once Blair and I got to know each other, I was able to realize that he wasn't disregarding me, he is just a leader and wants to take charge by nature, which he has to be, given his military and medical careers.
3. Charlene G: Blair and Haley, are you two going to keep in touch and try to get to know each other after the race? I know you both said you'd do this again with each other and I hope you get that chance, I think you both could win.
Hayley: We have definitely kept in touch and have gotten to know each other much better. I would definitely do the Race again with Blair and I have absolutely no doubt that a second season for us would result in a win. We have been fans of the show for so long that this was a dream come true for both of us. We were two of the very few who went through the traditional application process without being recruited because we had been wanting to do the Race for quite some time. We hope a second chance is in our future to take care of unfinished business!
Blair: Hayley is the only person in this world that knows first-hand what we went through to make it to the final leg of the "Race." We will share this forever. We have done a really good job keeping in touch after the race. It has been fun to get to know her in a less stressful environment--far less yelling, hah! We had so much momentum heading into the final leg and I think we were the team to beat. We would be contenders in any future "Race."
4. Jordan K: A question for Blair. What moment did you really have a gut feeling that you and Hayley weren't a match?
Blair: I was overcome by the amount of positive energy Hayley brought to the starting line and it was awesome to know that she worked as a nurse. I think on paper, we seemed like a great match. Hayley is an attractive woman with great qualities. I just knew pretty early on that she is not the right fit for me. I probably came to that realization on the way to LAX on the first leg.
5. Cindy S: What is your relationship like now with your teammate?
Hayley: Blair and I have a great relationship now. He is one of my best friends and I talk to him at least a few times per week. He's such a huge and important part of my life. I find myself consulting him about any minor or major life decision. We see each other as much as possible, which tends to be difficult as we both have busy schedules. We are definitely meant to be in each other's lives, just not romantically.
Blair: Our real life relationship is stronger than you would guess by watching us on the "Race." Zero arguments and I listen all the time! We talk a lot about all of the incredible support we receive from our fans and usually have a weekly FaceTime session Friday night before the episode airs.
6. Ann L: Would either of you ever sign up for a long-term blind date again?
Hayley: I am asked this often. If it was for an experience such as The Amazing Race, I absolutely would. You never know what can come from your experiences. I know I am fortunate enough to have a lifelong friend from mine.
Blair: When Phil promoted Season 26 of the "Race" as "The Most Extreme Blind Date Ever" he was not overstating it. The better we did, the longer the date lasted (even if we wanted the date to end at some steps along the way). Within 12 hours of meeting we had already seen each other sleep mouth agape on a plane and tried to cover up the perils of morning breath. I'm still digesting my experience on Season 26 and would like to have a date in a less hectic environment before considering another long-term blind date.
7. Chris S: What was the toughest leg for you two? And which one was the most fun?
Hayley: In all honesty, we had fun on every single leg; however, I would say our toughest leg was Nagano, Japan. We were at the back of the pack, we had some navigational issues, and the ice skating challenge was so tough. Also, it was our worst finish. As I said, we had fun every single leg. For me, the most fun was the first leg in Namibia. It was such a humbling experience to be in a native village with the native people and be immersed in their culture. We also had the chance to track the elephant and experience the safari and then camp at the base of materhorns after having drove 215km through the countryside. It was such a surreal experience and not many people can say their first real camping trip was in Africa.
Blair: The toughest leg for us, in my opinion, was Bavaria. It was one of our longest travel days and I was a little under-the-weather. It just so happened that Hayley was particularly feisty that leg and our teamwork was less than awesome. Both the beer stein and crate stacking challenge were some of the most physically demanding of the season. And to cap it all off I had to sing which was terrifying for me and anyone that listened. The final leg in Dallas was the most fun. As much as Hayley and I wanted to win we knew that we could be very proud of our performance by making it to the finale. Getting shot up to the top of AT&T stadium to get my playbook takes the cake, hands down.

Hayley and Blair lost the $1 million on The Amazing Race after she blew their sizable lead with a major blunder at the Reunion Tower Roadblock. If you ask fans, though, it was karma for her constant nagging at Blair the whole season to listen to her. So, does Hayley think she pestered him too much? And does Blair have the patience of a saint? Find out below -- and why they don't think they would've won with their lead.
So Hayley, what went wrong on the tower?
Hayley: [Laughs] I saw this little thing in the parking lot, and it was race colors, so I just thought that had to be it. I was like, "It's gonna be something really small, not something obvious." I had such attention to detail that I looked for the littlest things and not something big and obvious! That's what did it in for me, being too particular.
So you didn't see the flags at all even though they were huge and flapping in the wind
Hayley: You know, I caught a glimpse of those, but I thought, "Eh, that's nothing over there," because of where it was. It was like an abandoned area, so I thought [the parking lot] was perfect. It was right on top of a building. It has race colors. Honestly, from where I could see, it looked like a clue box. ... I think we had a 20-minute lead on [the other teams], maybe more. I know we saw them pull in, but I don't think they saw us after that. I wish I could say it was strategy that we wanted to leave them before they could follow us! [Laughs] But it wasn't! It was just a mistake.
When did you realize it wasn't right? You had a hard time trying to get to the parking lot.
Hayley: That was the thing. There was like a locked gate and there wasn't really a way to get through, so we kept driving around this building, trying to figure out a way to get into that parking garage. Then I just knew it had to have been wrong. It was just taking way too long. It was way too complicated. Nowhere in the race had it been that difficult to get to somewhere.
Why were you asking Blair to direct the cabbie when he wasn't up there with you?
Hayley: [Laughs] I was trying to tell him where I thought it was, like, "It's in this building. Do you think this is the road?" We're each other's right-hand man, and I would look to him for anything and everything because I trusted his judgment. I just figured if I was telling him where the building was, he could give his input on where he thought we could drive to get there. It was in a little city area and there were a lot of side streets and parking lots. You could see the building, but you couldn't see how to get there. Just navigating around was difficult.
Blair: The whole race is set up for teamwork. Roadblocks are just those things where your teammate is off alone and someone might get a harder Roadblock, someone might get an easier one, but this was one of those Roadblocks where we couldn't use teamwork to work through it. I just remember wanting to figure exactly what she saw and where it was. We knew it had to be close to the railroad tracks. That was in the clue. We were riding up the railroad tracks. Realistically, if we had just driven down the railroad trails like an eighth of a mile, we would've found it.
Hayley: [Laughs] Yeah, we were right there! But we went and drove way out of the way. I think our taxi driver hated us that day.
How defeated were you guys seeing that Jenny and Laura worked together and they both passed you when you had a healthy lead on them?
Hayley: You know, when it came down to it, I don't even know if we would've won with our lead because the selfie challenge was hard for us. They didn't show us doing it, but we took a long time. We were too busy taking in the moments and enjoying the scenery on the race and we would forget about taking selfies. We'd get somewhere and we were just in awe. ... When we would take selfies, it would be at airports or on trains. That was when we would think about it. Our selfies were kind of bland!
That's exactly what Jenny and Jelani said.
Hayley: Yeah! Our selfies were just us on a plane or on an airport floor, so we were like, "What airport floor do you think that is?" Or "Blair, when did you have a mustache?" "When did you wear that hat?"
Blair: Unfortunately, that was way too often! That was the problem. We were upset we didn't win for sure. We're very competitive people. We said it the last couple legs, but we started picking up tons of momentum and figuring each other out more and trusting each other's instincts more. That really showed. ... We start as a team, we rise and fall as a team, but we made that last mistake. We were hoping that the leg would be really long and we could work our way back into it. I'm speaking for Hayley when I say this, but just making it to the final leg and racing for the $1 million, I think realistically that's all you can hope for starting out. There are so many ridiculous variables and things that can go wrong.
Hayley: Exactly. You saw what happened to Steve and Aly. We thought if we made it to the final three, we'd be there with them, and it was a tire that did them in essentially. Any little thing can happen. For us, after the first two legs, we felt so down and so defeated, so to make this comeback that we did, we couldn't be prouder.
What did you think about Tyler and Jelani talking about how they didn't want you guys to win? What did they have against you?
Hayley: We worked very well with Jelani and Jenny. Laura and Tyler, we didn't really work well with them. Watching the show and seeing how much they talked about us and other teams, that's kind of how they were the entire race. I honestly kinda feel bad for them if that that's all they did. I mean, we're really not that exciting people to talk about!
Blair: Speak for yourself!
Hayley: [Laughs] I mean, I think they felt threatened by us since they had to talk about us. I would feel threatened by us too. We finished higher than them quite frequently. I think we ran an overall better race than they did, and they dealt with it by talking about us.
Hayley, do you think you nagged Blair too much?
Hayley: Yeah, I do think I should've gone easier on Blair. At the time, I just felt like I was disregarded. I get it. Blair's first impression of me was me not doing so great in the mud run. I think I was able to prove myself later on. Unfortunately, those things came later. I know Blair will agree with me on this, but I did a lot of the physical challenges! [Laughs] ... We weren't getting along at first because we didn't know each other and we didn't have a chance to know each other. Our brief instances I felt like weren't enough. But once I got to know Blair, I realized that Blair's just a natural leader. That's how he needs to be in his medical and military careers. He needs to be a person who takes charge and goes with it. Once I got to know him, I realized he wasn't being disrespectful or being malicious or writing me off.
Blair, what was it like from your end? I think everyone's in awe of your patience.
Blair: [Laughs] Yeah, I remember saying this on a casting video or something ... that clichéd answer of, "Yeah, I'm going to be introduced to a stranger and we're gonna have to figure out each other's strengths and weaknesses." That was the party line. I figured it might take until the airport to figure it out, but it was a work in progress the whole time. It was figuring out what's worth arguing about, what is her strength in any given situation, what is mine. We tried our best to be compatible. I said this at the end, but I trust Hayley and her instincts to a very impressive degree. I'm still a little confused in certain situations, but correct me if I'm wrong, Hayley, but just being in stressful environments when we needed an answer quickly ... that's very anxiety-ridden. Some of the times I think it came out in a different way for Hayley, raising her voice at me. I remember thinking the first few times, "Man, how can I do a better job making this not happen?"
Hayley: Right. And that's how I felt too. I didn't want to be yelling at him. I was like, "Man, how can I make him see I want to have a role in this too?" If you watched the show, teams like Laura and Tyler, Tyler was the one who did most of the stuff for their team. It was like that on a couple teams with the guy taking more control than the girl. I'm not like that. It doesn't need to be a 90-10, 80-20 relationship; I need it to be 50-50. I want to pull my own weight and make sure that he knew I could keep up.
Blair, I loved your "Still looking" deadpan when Phil said, "You guys were looking for love." So what did you think of the twist?
Hayley: [Laughs] That was so funny! I thought the twist was great. ... Blair and I are huge fans of the show and have been for a long time. Being fans, we know the show is based largely on relationships. Seeing people paired together at a moment's notice, it's awesome to see if you do need a solid relationship going into it or if you can meet on the fly and go with it. I think our season really proved that the blind dates can work really well together.
Blair: I think it spiced The Amazing Race up. After 26 seasons, you're gonna have haters, traditionalists who don't want to see the basic structure of the show altered. But you have to get with the times a little and spice things up. I think it did exactly that. Maybe there won't be another blind date edition, but at least it opens the doors and gets people thinking to be more creative with the structures of the team. I thought it was genius and I was glad to be part of it.
What are you up to now?
Hayley: I'm working on my masters. I'm still a pediatric nurse. Blair and I get along great. We're best of friends. Blair is definitely someone who's gonna be in my life forever.
Blair: Life really hasn't change aside from seeing my ugly mug on the TV screen every Friday night. I'm still a doctor in the Navy. I wanted to make the finale party with other contestants, but I had a medical conference in New Orleans this whole weekend. But I got to hang out with Jon Knight for his concert, so that was pretty cool. I think Hayley and I had a rough go at the beginning of the race. We were at each other's throats. The story line that we created -- having to constantly fight this uphill battle with our relationship but making it very, very far and getting to a point where we had a mutual respect for each other and forgave each other for our faults and commended our strengths -- makes for good TV. I think a lot of our fans recognize that. That's what they like about us. They wanted to see us succeed. I think we did succeed, but not all the way to the end, which is unfortunate. We understand there's a lot of stress on the race that brought out a side of us that normally wouldn't happen in real life. We're just working on a better friendship outside of the race and we're doing a really good job of that.

Before I start with my actual post for the day, I wanted to wish Blair safe travels over the next 2 weeks, as he is traveling internationally with the military for work. I know Blair can handle any situation he is thrown in and I know he will be awesome at whatever he encounters on his trip! Blair/Hayley is really a nice team to watch and a perfect choice for All-Stars, just hope they could schedule their work for a return, many people would like to see how they could do another race, and personally I think Hayley doesn't and shouldn't change a bit if she returns! Really a good TV!
Casting should do more work in looking for interesting character like Hayley who is not afraid to show her true side on national TV! They are the most outstanding team in recent seasons.

I don't think S27 is All Star/UB. And the cast is probably finalise long before S26 ever finish airing.
So we can still hold our breathe for All Star/UB in S28 and hopefully they're free to do it. :D

I hope they wait at LEAST until season 28 for an AS/UB. Obviously season 30 is perfect, but I always imagined season 30 as "All-Star Champions" with all winners racing, I mean having Nick/Star, Meghan/Cheyne, and Dave/Rachel in the same season would be epic. However, I doubt CBS would EVER do an All-Star Champions for TAR, Survivor or Big Brother.

Exclusive: Hayley Keel and Blair Townsend talk 'The Amazing Race' and finishing third

The Amazing Race's blind-dating couple Hayley Keel and Blair Townsend finished the 26th season in third place during the finale on CBS.
Hayley, a 28-year-old registered nurse from St. Petersburg, FL, and Blair, a 31-year-old Navy physician from Jacksonville, FL, crossed the finish line after runners-up Jenny Wu and Jelani Roy and winners Laura Pierson and Tyler Adams. All three couples met on the show for the wildest blind date of their lives.
Laura and Tyler won the $1 million grand prize on the twelfth and final leg after conquering five continents, eight countries and more than 35,000 miles. Hayley and Blair said they didn't find love on the show, but there seems to be potential for change.
In an exclusive interview with Reality TV World this week, Hayley and Blair talked about their experience on The Amazing Race. Below is what they had to say.
Reality TV World: The Race is known for twists, turns and that anything could happen. Did you have any hope of finishing the Race in a higher spot than third on your way to the finish line, or were you convinced third was your fate?
Hayley Keel: You know, honestly, it's like Blair said in the last leg, "It's not over until Phil says it's over." But you just honestly never know. You never know if someone could've gotten a flat tire. You never know if someone got lost. You just never know. So you always have to have hope on the Race.
Blair and I have been big fans of the Race for many, many seasons, and that's one thing. We never gave up hope and we never gave up thinking that it was just over because you never know, not until you get to the finish line do you know.
Reality TV World: Were you guys happy or a little annoyed that Laura and Tyler won? Because you were shown calling them "shady" during the last leg when they were trying to follow your cab and some of the other teams seemed to have an issue with them.
Hayley Keel: No, I did feel like Laura and Tyler -- I didn't have an issue with them. I think when it comes down to it, it's whoever gets to the finish line first. It's not that we had an issue with it. It's just seeing how much they talk about us and talk about us and talk about other teams, you know, it almost, like, I don't really know.
That's not how we obviously played the game. We would never speak poorly about other teams, and we didn't until the very last episode, when we were verbal about how we thought about them -- about them being shady and kind of sneaky and kind of like snakes.
But that's one thing Blair and I do pride ourselves in, that we played a very clean game and we were never intentionally talking poorly about another team or criticizing another team. We didn't have to do anything like cut in line or be sneaky in any way to get as far as we did, which is something that, you know, we have integrity, which is one of the characteristics both of us brought to the Race.
Reality TV World: What's your relationship like now? When I talked to Harley Rodriguez and his partner Jonathan Knight earlier this season, they told me you guys had been hanging out a lot. Could you talk to me about that? (Laughs) Did any romantic connection spark after the show ended or maybe you're just better friends than you were on the Race?
Hayley Keel: (Laughs)
Blair Townsend: So the Race is exhausting. It is a grind. I had no idea how much of a grind it was going to be. And that's just, like, the Roadblocks, the challenges and the traveling. And the honest truth is, I think we probably devoted a big more energy than any of the other teams in arguments and working on our interpersonal relationship.
So, I think at the end of the Race, we might have appreciated our space a little bit for a few days. But it didn't take us too long to kind of rekindle our friendship and get in touch, but we text quite frequently. We kind of established this weekly pre-episode Facetime session.
Hayley Keel: Mhmm. (Giggles)
Blair Townsend: But I think we're definitely turning over a new leaf and kind of realizing that the people we are on the show might not be exactly who we are in real life when we're not faced with the likely the most stressful scenario that we've ever experienced in our lives on national TV.
Hayley Keel: We can go in and save lives any day. I mean, I can go into a pediatric cardiac arrest any day and Blair can go into a life or death surgery, and that's fine. We know that like the back of our hand. But going into the Race, it's just something completely different and stressful.
We both kind of had different views to get to the same goal. It took a while to get our views in line with each other, and if anything, I think our story or evolution throughout the Race together was by far the best one this season.
Blair Townsend: It is The Amazing Race!
Reality TV World: So it sounds like there might be a little potential there for love! (Laughs)
Hayley Keel: We're not romantically involved at all, but Blair is one of my very best friends. And, you know, I always look forward to our weekly chats together and we text each other funny things throughout the week and just catch up with each other and we get opinions on each other's lives frequently.
Blair knows everything there is to know about me, and I feel like I know pretty much everything about him. So, we're the best of friends.
Reality TV World: How accurate do you think your edit was this season? Hayley, you were shown yelling at Blair an awful lot to the point of other teams telling me Blair had the patience of a saint. Did they just focus on those scenes?
Hayley Keel: You know, I feel like granted that did happen a lot while we were racing, but for the most part, I think Blair and I had probably the best experience out of anyone. Because, like I said, we've been fans of the show forever, so we were living [our] dream together.
So it was really nice to get matched with a complete stranger who wanted the same goals and dreams as you do and you get to live that together. I feel like we were two people on a show that truly appreciated the places we went more than anyone. We loved being immersed in the culture, we loved finding out things about where we were going -- just all of those little things put together.
We really bonded over things like that. And when you're with somebody 24/7 for the entire course of the Race, you really have more good times than bad. So it was highlighted a lot, but I fully admit that, yes, I did nag him a lot. But you know what?
We're in this situation and we're both very competitive and like I said, we had different views of how things should get done. It wasn't until we could merge those views and come to a common agreement to get to our goal that things weren't rough. They were absolutely rough. Overall, we did get along more often than not.
Reality TV World: Hayley, you feared that missing the clue while you rappelled down that building might haunt you for the rest of your life. Has it been haunting you since the show wrapped filming? And Blair, does it make you feel better or worse the situation that held you guys back was not your doing? Do you feel more relief or more frustration because of that.
Hayley Keel: Obviously I felt terrible about that because I felt like we could have won if I hadn't missed the clue. And I think anyone in that position would feel absolutely awful. And so, I had nightmares about it for a while. I mean, I had post-Race dreams and nightmares (laughs) after the Race.
So it was something I felt terrible about, but you know, when I look at the big picture, we started off at the very bottom. We went into it not knowing each other.
We had everything working against us, including ourselves -- especially me -- and then when we ended up getting to the Final 3, I had to look back and say, "That's more than we could've asked for," especially because of some of the teams we beat out. It's incredible that we beat those teams out. So, to make it as far as we did is just really a huge accomplishment for both of us.
Blair Townsend: Yeah, I mean, and this is the honest truth. The whole race is a team effort, and I mean, I kind of view it as, yeah, I'm a human being and I'm going to be disappointed that we were very close to winning and that we didn't.
But I have to kind of echo what Hayley is saying. I just remember when the final leg started, me kind of letting my guard down and being like, "We made it this far. Let's have some fun and see what happens." And I really thought we were the best team at that point.
We had the most momentum going and we were the team to beat. I still think we were as deserving as winners as Tyler and Laura are, I think. Most people admit that we were the team to beat at that point. So, I mean, it was Hayley's Roadblock to do, but we rise as a team and we fall as a team.
And success or failures, we kind of both have to step up to and take some credit for. But I think Hayley did so much to get us to where we got, so she should kind of be proud of the things that she did and not really dwell on the final Roadblock that didn't work in our favor.
Reality TV World: How difficult was that final memory task? We didn't see much of you guys doing it. How long did it take you to complete?
Hayley Keel: (Laughs) That one was rough for us. The whole selfie thing is a great idea, but Blair and I, we would always forget about our selfies because we would be so caught up in the moment and just enjoying the scenery.
For example, and I'll never forget it, one of my favorite moments was driving in the desert in Namibia to get to our Pit Stop at the Matterhorn. And you don't even think about taking a picture then. You're just taking it all in. And when you're at places... it wasn't usually like, "Oh, I want to take a picture, let me take out the selfie cam."
It was more like, "Wow, let me just soak in this moment. Let's look at this. Let's enjoy this." And I think Blair felt the same. We just truly appreciate the experience. We truly appreciated the places we went and, I mean, I'll never forget riding on the side of the mountains in Peru. Blair and I were just staring out of the window in disbelief of how beautiful it all was. So our selfies were more difficult.
Blair Townsend: I kind of, I agree with Hayley. Well, first off, I'm not really the type of person to take selfies.
Hayley Keel: (Laughs)
Blair Townsend: I don't think I ever have before. So the whole selfie thing was just awkward for me, but aside from that, any time there is Race scenery or we were speaking to locals and natives, it was more important to take it all in and not, you know, snap a picture of ourselves doing it.
So I think that made the final task a little more challenging, just because we had a lot of selfies on a plane or selfies in an airport when we kind of weren't doing anything and had the time to take selfies. And I guess when we were there, the wind really started blowing.
It was hard to get the pin-up pictures to stick to the wall. But the idea was cool. And again, having this blind-date twist this season and then this whole selfie thing, I guess, I think it spiced the show up and made it a little more fresh and exciting. So I think it was a good job on the part of the show.
Reality TV World: Would you like to race again in an all-stars season or something?
Hayley Keel: We would love to! We have unfinished business, that's for sure.

Did you ever notice that in all their interviews together, it is always Hayley who answers when the potential for love question is asked? Why is that? Is Blair being still a gentleman? I, for one, would love to know Blair's thoughts on this particular question. :grins:

To be honest, I think Blair has reservation on just being friends with Hayley, he never says they have no chance to be a couple, maybe he just wants to keep his view in low-key and not talk too much in the interview. :hearts:

Over the course of the 5 days everyone trickled into town, I took part in consuming the following:
--Pizza, parmesan bread bites, sprite (not even sprite zero, regular sprite which is something I never do! I don't even like pop!) and it was 1am by the time it arrived
--a pitcher of sangria, a grouper sandwich, French fries, and another random fruity alcoholic beverage
--more alcoholic beverages
--late night McDonald's post-alcoholic beverages (the Uber showed up so I mean, even after we thought about changing our minds, we didn't want to deviate from the route...it would just be rude, right? right!)
-- 1/2 of French toast, 1/2 breaksfast wrap, breakfast potatoes, and a bloody Mary (or 2)
--more alcoholic beverages
--another pitcher of Sangria, a grouper sandwich, fries
--papas fritas, a goat cheese dip, bread, a salad (woo hoo!! finally something healthy! a salad!!), and more sangria
--more alcoholic beverages (one mixed drink, one glass of wine)
--an amazing Italian dinner of chicken parm and spaghetti
--also, some random post-night out Taco Bell and another McDonald's trip are most certainly in this mess somewhere, I think.

Amazing Race contestant shares 16 things you didn’t know about the show
The Amazing Race is my favorite show of all time, and it’s toooootally a not-so-secret dream of mine to be on it one day. I was ecstatic to learn that one of the current contestants lives 10 minutes away from me, so I tracked her down through Twitter and we met up!
When Hayley Keel bounced into our local Starbucks, I knew immediately that it was her. She looked effortless in a bright blue strapless cotton dress, and wore natural makeup that highlighted her big eyes, white smile and porcelain skin. Suddenly, my fresh blowdry and black cotton maternity dress felt less-than-amazing. (But hey, I was still without kids and about to have an adult conversation. Still a total win!)
Right off the bat, Hayley was warm and welcoming. We greeted each other with a big hug (she smelled so good too!), and I asked if she wanted anything to drink. She ordered a cold tea, sat in the leather chair across from me, and we started talking. My plan was to interview her about how the show portrayed her as constantly nagging her partner. I knew it was a topic every woman could relate to, especially my #glowgirls! (That post is coming next week!)
But, as an Amazing Race superfan, I had soooo many other questions about the show. And, since she shared the answers, I figured I might as well share them with you!
1. The food sucks. “We really are eating random junk the whole time. There were times we’d be eating an airplane meal, and I just wished I could have some fruit,” Keel recalls. Since contestants aren’t allowed to bring their own money, the show gives them a stipend for each leg of the race. But Keel and her partner, Blair Townsend, didn’t want to spend it on airport food, for fear of running out of cash during the competition, so they’d ask flight attendants for extra airplane meals and stash them in their backpacks. Her favorite meal of the whole race was a pad thai dish they had on a flight to Thailand.
2. It really is as hard as it looks. The contestants really do sleep on airport floors and live out of their backpacks. It’s also a very physical show. “I prepped by eating FitLife Foods for every meal, and I also started Orange Theory before the race to build endurance and shed a few pounds,” Keel said.
3. The backpack is a nightmare. It’s heavy, and you have to pack clothes for an entire month, in a variety of different climates. “Before the race, I’d sit around watching YouTube videos, like ‘how do you pack for a backpacking trip for a month in different climates,’ and I’d pack and repack,” Keel recalled. Quantity was also an issue. Keel had to bring enough of things like Tylenol, Pepto Bismol and shampoo to last for the whole month of filming. She also packed 2 sticks of deodorant, Tide packs for sink laundry, and body wipes she could use when showers weren’t available.
4. Contestants can only tell immediate family where they’re going. “I told my dad, but everyone else thought I was going on a technology-free backpacking trip,” Keel said. Most of her family and friends thought something was wrong, because it was totally out-of-character for her.
5. Contestants aren’t paid. “We’re considered volunteers,” Keel said. Of course, they’re all vying for a $1 million prize.
6. The audition process is grueling. Keel auditioned at a community college in Biloxi, Mississippi in May of 2014. Producer finally called her, 4 months later, to continue the casting process, which included several rounds of audition videos that she’d record and send. Once Keel found out she was on the show, she had about a month to get ready (which included a huge string of vaccinations, as you might imagine). Filming didn’t start until November.
7. Waiting is the worst part. With all the traveling, there is a ton of waiting in the airport. And often, contestants haven’t showered or slept in more than 24 hours. “If you’re wet, and your shoes are wet, you still have to drive straight to the airport. And then, once you’re there, you have to wait 8 hours for your flight. So, the [female contestants] would be in the airport bathroom, trying to bathe in the sink,” Keel recalled.
8. Teams often don’t stay at the locations named as “pit stops” on the show. “We’ll go there to meet Phil [Keoghan, the show’s host], but then we have to get in vans to stay somewhere else,” Keel said. “Some places were nice, but others weren’t. At one place we were staying in Thailand, I tried to wash my shirt in the sink, and the water left rust-colored splotches all over it.”
9. The toughest challenge was the first one. At least Keel thought so. Moments after filming began in Los Angeles, teams had to compete in a mud run challenge. “I just wasn’t mentally prepared. We’d literally just started the race, and then we were crawling in mud,” she said. “I just wanted a hair tie so badly!”
10.The teams travel in a 4-pack. Each 2-person team has their own dedicated camera and sound person. “The crew goes everywhere you go,” Keel said. “You’re like a little 4-pack.”
11. Contestants are constantly jet-lagged. This isn’t incredibly astonishing, as the show is, in fact, a race around the world. But Keel said contestants who were used to working night shifts had a definite leg up. “I’m a pediatric nurse, and Blair is a doctor, so on the legs when we’d start at 12:30 in the morning, we’d just say, ‘It feels like a night shift!'” (With years logged as a stay-at-home mom, this also means my chances of survival on the show are going up!)
12. The show’s creator, host and field producers are very involved. Keel said the show’s creator, Bertram Van Munster, was on every leg of the race. Contestants would also see the show’s host, Phil, from time-to-time at pit stops, but he usually had to leave earlier than everyone else, in order to get to the next location ahead of the contestants. “Even our field producers slept on the airport floors, right along with us,” Keel said. “We all became friends.”
13. Contestants aren’t allowed to talk to anyone outside the show for the entire month of filming. Yep, even if they have kids. Hayley said a producer would call her dad, once a week, to let him know that she was safe and still in the race. “But at pit stops, [the show staff] made sure there was no technology. They’d go in our hotel rooms before we got there and remove all phones and internet so we couldn’t use them,” Keel said.
14. Blind-date couples in the current season do get their own rooms. I’d wondered about this because one of the episodes had shown another blind-date team, Jeff and Jackie, talking together in their hotel room. But Keel said each individual blind-date contestant gets their own room, so no one has to share unless they want to. (And, it doesn’t seem like any of them did.)
15. Contestants can’t talk with the other teams unless cameras are rolling. After teams arrive at a pit stop, they often load into vans with other contestants to travel to where they’ll sleep. “We always got in trouble for talking, but we were all going through the experience together, so we wanted to talk about it. But, we’d keep [the conversation] to the location we were at, not talking about the race,” Keel said.

I love Blair and Hayley and hope all the random sub-par fans who dislike them give Hayley a break. If Blair has no issues with her, then shut up about her attitude towards him.
I had issues at the beginning with Hayley because Blair wasn't speaking up about the experience and now that the race is over and we're definitely sure that these two are better friends than ever, I think people should just LET IT GO about Hayley's behaviour.

It wasn't normal to film that part for the intro after the Race, but just the blind date teams makes sense since the blind date teams didn't meet before that start line. And they had to find somewhere generic enough to pass for the same areas used for the other teams before filming.

Blair Townsend, MD '12, is a man of adventure and tan year-round. He's climbed Kilimanjaro, he's skydived. He does triathlons, lives on a boat and once a month goes to sea in a nuclear submarine because he's a Navy doctor stationed at the Kings Bay, Ga., sub base. He's also a Navy diver.
"You just spend weeks getting beat up underwater," Dr. Townsend says of the six-month-long training. "They talk about testing your water confidence, and what do you do when you're scuba diving at X amount of feet underwater, and somebody's just beating you up and pulling the regulator out of your mouth or causing problems for you—are you the guy who panics or keeps his composure and doesn't bolt to the surface?"
Dr. Townsend, a lieutenant, handles stress well. But after a three-week blind date on network television, the 32-year-old Virginia Beach, Va., native needed a moment.
"I was a little scarred for a few weeks when I got back," Dr. Townsend says with a laugh. "I need my space and independence."
Dr. Townsend competed on the 26th season of CBS' The Amazing Race, a reality show on which two-person teams compete in mental and physical challenges around the world to win $1 million. Traditionally the teams know each other, but for Dr. Townsend's season—which aired this spring—the producers made a tweak: half the teams would be on blind dates.
Dr. Townsend met his teammate, Hayley Keel, on the starting line. They were supposed to fall in love. They didn't.
"The biggest challenge of the race was working efficiently and successfully with a partner I didn't know," Dr. Townsend says. "And all the things that are historically hard, like the physical and mental challenge, didn't seem as difficult compared to the interpersonal relationship."
A longtime fan of the show, Dr. Townsend says he originally auditioned to be on with his father. When he found out it was the blind-date edition, he—man of adventure, remember—decided to do it anyway. The pair finished third, undercut by a big mistake on the second-to-last challenge. Dr. Townsend and Ms. Keel, a nurse from Florida, had a contentious (but also fan-favorite) relationship, now well documented on the Internet. Dr. Townsend says he and Ms. Keel are friends now.
"I went on the show mainly to do well on the show," Dr. Townsend says. "I figured the blind-date thing would take care of itself. I wasn't necessarily looking for love. I think some of the blind dates just went on because they wanted to find a partner. That wasn't really my objective. So I figured, however the cards fell, they would fall."

IIRC, both Hayley and Blair have said they are friends, and they would be willing to return on that basis. Of course things change, and Blair being a Navy surgeon, would have that be a possible last-minute barrier because of its lack of predictability for a deployment.
IIRC, the one Bachelor in an early season of that show, Andy Baldwin, has the same potential limitation during the filming of his season, and he's also a Navy surgeon.

Most of you know Hayley is a nurse.
She is now an advanced practitioner and is doing Critical Care Transport.
In Tampa.... which is expectioning a catastrophic hit from Irma tonight.
Like most other first responders she told her husband, her pets and her her home goodbye a few days ago and has been and will be out working as IRMA strikes the Tampa area.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
