Based on previews for the next episode tomorrow, I'm already not liking on teams such Daniel/Charlie and RR/Jeck, for several reasons, one RR/Jeck telling Charlie/Daniel the answers in the ice cube task, and Charlie/Daniel for giving up so easily and on the first leg, to be fair I think both teams should be given penalties the moment they arrive at the pitstop.
As for who I'm rooting for, it will be Avy/Tina and Vince/Ed, :hoot: To be honest, I actually feel sorry the blondes, no one likes them on the race :( that's why I will be rooting for them :)

The "alliance" not telling Tina & Avy was just their way of playing their game. Poor Tina & Avy. :( Luckily for that team, I'm liking them more for their independence. I have to say, observing the shuffled ice blocks was quite smart. ;)

Last episode was just heartbreaking. Zarah & Osang were doing really well up to that point. And the fact the sun continued to set as each team passed, as they fell from 5th place to 11th, it was just unbelievably sad :(. I really hope they make it and don't get eliminated first... (I didn't follow the spoilers for this season...)

The first two episodes are so over detailed. Good thing they showed signs of progression last night by showing two tasks.

Not only are they annoying camwhores, they swear a lot, and they aren't funny at all. When they said "Souffle" in that voice, I wanted to change the channel because it was so damn annoying.

For me I think most of the challenges in this leg were just plain lazy and poorly planned, they copied most of the tasks from other versions of the Amazing Race. For example, in the Little Tokyo restaurant detour, that challenge was eerily similar to the task of the China leg of Season 14 of U.S. TAR , the ice block was obviously a copy of the task from Tokyo Leg of Season 2 of the Amazing Race Asia. :(
Plus don't get me started on that track and field challenge, it's like they purposely made that running task just to eliminate Zarah/Osang because they know they can't run as fast as the other teams, and the task that I think that was unique to this leg was that puzzle challenge at Ayala Tower One, that was the only one that I felt that was both unique and challenging. :)

I don't think they did it on purpose to eliminate Zarah/Osang. I mean everything was pre-planned so they can't control that. But I think they shouldn't made that 100m dash a competition between two teams! That part for me was kinda unfair. Maybe what they did was teams have to battle against time so instead of competing against a team, they should beat the clock. That's way more fair and a legit "Amazing Race" challenge. That one-on-one battle reminds me of challenges in Survivor which is definitely won't work in whatever versions TAR. :res:

Roch & Eji are quite entertaining. :lol: I'm glad they caught up, but if it wasn't for the mistake at the roadblock, they would've had a higher placement, perhaps 2nd or 3rd.
Zarah & Osang :hoot: Hope they make it past Leg 1.
Matt & Phoebe caught up pretty fast as well. I'm impressed. :)
I think the finishing sequence in the dance ARI will be the same for the pit stop arrivals. :stare I really think they could've merged the pit stop scenes with the first 5 episodes.

That elimination was just sad. :( That one task was really unfair to them. I just wished it was a NEL.
I think if they knew that they weren't the last to leave Resort's World, they would've tried walking to the pit stop. Meanwhile, the other team stayed positive and walked the rest of the way on foot, giving them the short lead on them. That means... assuming you're in last place is quite bad in a way, and trying to stay positive might save you in the race. :)
That was one suspenseful pit stop episode. Even the spoilers couldn't help me for some reason. Also, the host (I think) improved on the way he talked to the teams on the pit stop.
For a 1st leg of the 2nd season, I say it's a good one. :hrt: I can't wait for next week.
P.S. It's gonna be fun to watch TAR marathons on Saturdays. :lol: TARUS shows at 8:10 PM in AXN and finishes at around 9PM, then all I have to do is change the channel to TV5 to watch 30 minutes of TARPh. :funny:

I wish Osang & Zarah jumped out of the taxi sooner, they could have over taken RR & Jeck on the run to the pit stop... :( I wonder if they asked Chen & Luz to cooperate with them too at the 100-m sprint task, would they agree and save them?
The format is a bit weird, it's like how TAR:US operated on it's first two episodes of the first season. But spreading it out over five 30-min episodes does give us a lot of details, which I like for now. :) I wonder how the format would work weeks from now when it's down to four or five teams...

First The judge Joey Mead King from Leg 1 , now we have Jodilly Pendre also from Asia's Next Top Model in the second leg, whose next? Katarina on the third leg?
Also one thing I noticed, there was a cameo from one half of the teams (Kelvin and JP) during the Wattpad episode :funny: ??? What were they thinking? :funny: :)

This episode shows how TARPH can do generic tasks well---- the cast is pretty good!

On other cases, the HoO made some fall behind, like Matt & Phoebe who fell from 1st to 8th. :stare At least teams from the back have a chance for a comeback when it comes to the HoO.

This was my favorite episode yet! The Detour was fun and LOL at teams missing the U-Turn Reveal Board.

Lots of placement changes this episode. Luck task today, and most likely luck task tomorrow. Those sandcastles are one of my all-time favorites. :hearts:
Daniel & Charlie missing that U-turn was so funny. :funny: Their cursing habit was somehow an entertainment for me. :funny: I had to laugh out loud when they missed it. Them getting the U-turn was bonus LOL. :funny: They were lucky one team had a devastating penalty.
Sad to see Luz & Chen fall like that. :( It was their fault since they didn't keep the bottle cap, but that was such a waste for them. :gaah:
Lesson from the episode: Read the clue!!!
I'm glad the chefs caught up to 1st. :wohoo: The nerds calculating the gondola thingies blew my mind. :o The blondes falling behind was quite sad, :( especially after having a bad leg during the 1st leg.

Yeah there will only be 1 non-elim, but maybe also a TBC Leg. I think a TBC/"Superleg" so they won't have to worry with a penalty.

Yep, just by seeing the preview for tomorrow, now for sure Luz/Chen are goners in the 2nd leg :( however I commend them for not giving up despite arriving in last place, and that's what I love about them :)

This leg was pretty okay. Just for the lack of sprinting task from hell, it already makes it a better leg than the first one. However, I'm not too fond of the bunching before the detour or the dreaded ferriss wheel task which majorly screwed my faves. Onto my cast rankings!
1 - Avy & Tina - Sister teams are something I really miss on modern TAR, and Bumbling Blondes is one of my favorite archetypes, so Avy & Tina to bumble**** their way to the top! <3333
2 - Roch & Eji - I get a "strong independent woman" vibes from Roch, and Eji is a cutie pie.
3 - AJ & Jody - I generally really like Father/Child interactions and this team is no exception. Plus, AJ is such an adorable old man <3
4 - JP & Kelvin - They seem like a team I'd hate, but I kinda love their obnoxiousness? Plus, leftover love from the "Are you twins?" moment last leg.
5 - Luz & Chen - Although I'm still pissed they let Jet & Yna win the sprinting task, I felt bad for their elimination because they were strong women with plenty of potential to do well.
6 - Jeck & RR - On one hand, I hated their pathetic performance at the rock climbing Roadblock. On the other hand, I was fond of them summoning smoothies out of nowhere during the sand castle task.
7 - Vince & Ed - They're solidly okay.
8 - Jet & Yna - I'm still pissed Luz & Chen let them win the sprinting task last leg. And they're boring.
9 - Matt & Phoebe - I was indifferent on them until Matt became an ass to Phoebe by kicking sand in her face and telling her to **** off. Just no.
10 - Daniel & Charlie - Daniel's face makes me want to punch him... in the face. He has the most stereotypical "I'm a douchebag" face ever, and their personalities prove that. Also not fond of their constant swearing.

Cast Rankings as of Beginning of Leg 3:
RR & Jeck- Hilarious. I don't like them quitting, but it was really fun to see them completely melt down at the Roadblock and quit, perform really well at the Detour, only to take a mango shake break during the sandcastle challenge, and STILL survive the leg :lol: I hope they go far! :hrt:
Avy & Tina- A quiet leg, but they're still amazing so <3
AJ & Jody- Their random meltdowns are TV gold and I love them not to mention AJ is great <3 :lol:
Matt & Phoebe- Their random fights and meltdowns are great. Like them!
Jet & Yna- It was nice to see more personality from them, hope it continues!
Roch & Eji- Ditto!

This season is already way better than Season 1. Teams + Challenges + Drama and Meltdowns! So amazing to watch even with the one challenge per day format. :res:
Team Rankings (after Leg 2)
1. RR/Jeck - they win the most entertaining team of the season. So many glorious moments and quotable quotes.
2. Matt/Phoebe - Super competitive but still fun to watch! I really like them. Probably better than 80% of dating couples we've seen in TAR US. I'm waiting for their meltdown. :lol: Their mini fight during last leg's sandcastle task was cute. :hrt:
3. AJ/Jody - I love Jody scolding his dad everytime. :lol: Just keep pushing your dad and he'll be a better racer! LOL at their fights, so natural!
4. Avy/Tina - Is it me or Tina looks like Jaycee Parker (former Viva Hot Babes) :lol: Anyway, I always am rooting for blonde teams and they're no exemption. Super amazing! Love them. <3
5. Charlie/Daniel - I really thought this team would at least finish top 3 or 5 in the first two legs because I consider them as alpha males pre-race. But heck, #Bottomgods for the first two legs. :lol: I like them making a lot of mistakes but still managed to survive each leg. Their swearing though. Painful to hear those *bleep* on TV! (:;)

6. JP/Kelvin - too nice! Nice guys always finish last, but Daniel/Ryan proved that wrong. Let's see what's gonna happen with them. Right now, I'm neutral towards them.
7. Roch/Eji - Meh team so far. Show more personality.

9. Ed/Vince - WTF with the math equation at the Sky Eye challenge. :lol: Yes, they're smart but nothing amusing or special about them.

For people who can't catch up regularly, I recommend watching the highlights because it's basically a TARPH leg in a full thirty minute episode without any of the draggy boring parts.
Just imagine it's a TARUS leg with bad editing and it's fine! :lol:

No, some air times of TV5 here in the Philippines between Monday to Friday are delayed within 10-50 minutes due to PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) game depending by schedule, equivalent to NFL, and Masters Tournament matches on CBS.

I agree with you on that, what's the point of a challenge if you are going to give each other answers :res: That made me doubt the first 5 teams :res: You hardly see that kind of alliance on U.S. TAR
And I actually agree on two things JP/Kelvin said, the first is just have fun and the second, at some point the so called alliance will turn on each other, and for that JP/Kelvin went up a notch in my book :wohoo:

I have no problems with Jet & Yna being rich. I have no problems with their strategizing. What I do not like though is how they're making their alliance stick out so heavily that it just feels awful for the other teams and for the viewer.

Jet & Yna being rich is not a problem. I'm a bit annoyed sometimes when people race just because of the money.
This is The Amazing Race! They should also enjoy traveling from one place to another. IMHO, Money won't be enough to buy me a once in a lifetime opportunity to race around the world, or the Philippines.

Comment on teams:
~If I were in Matt & Phoebe's shoes, I'd be in a big dilemma. It's either breaking the alliance and maintaining the friendship, or maintaining tha alliance and destroying the friendship.
~It's true that Jet & Yna are quite bossy, especially Jet, but I think it's their strategy, so I don't hate it.
~I like how Roch said the task is about luck and the strategy is to work fast. I hope she and Eji gets a win tonight. :hearts:
~I'm glad that JP & Kelvin caught up at least.

I would've been more excited if it was puto making, but it was finding under the putos. :res: TARP should lessen the luck tasks at the end of the legs. Also, I don't like how many team members kept cursing throughout the episodes. A little cursing from a few teams is entertainment, but most of these are from very frustrated racers who happen to argue. It's a family show.
I think the real challenge now is finding the place and not get lost. I don't like how the preview is confirming that it's not a NEL.
PS, just like what I said for TAR24, I don't hate any teams so far, and it feels weird. :lol:

Am I dreaming or Am I seeing almost no changes between the Top 5 teams and the lower tier teams for the next three legs?
The only exception to this is the first leg, where the chefs are in 7th place instead of the top 5? It seems like teams Jeck/RR, Kelvin/JP, or Avy/Tina just cant get a break and earn a least a single top 5 spot, :hoot: :'(
In my opinion this season This season is becoming bias towards the Top 5 teams, I almost can't take anymore and if I see one more placement like that in the next leg, I might consider to quit watching this season altogether.
And what's worse, is that if Matt/Phoebe win two more legs, they might already earn 1 million without even reaching the final pitstop, greedy greedy whores (:;) (:;) , give teams like Jet/Yna or any team a chance to win a leg and earn some prize, and if they keep this up until the final leg, they might win 2 millions pesos (:;)

I'm DEVASTATED by last week's elimination. Really, this season is so bad with this alliance crap, Avi & Tina were my only glimmer of hope. Now rooting for Roch & Eji because I find both of them adorable. Aleast we have the glorious TAR25 to make up for this trainwreck.

They are overdoing it in luck tasks, I must admit. I first noticed it with Tina & Avy. Anytime they managed to climb out of the bottom pack, a luck task just drags them back down, like the ferris wheel task in Leg 2 and the puto task in leg 3. And their general luck too just sucks! :'( If they didn't got stuck in the mud after the clay pot task, they wouldn't have been eliminated. :'(
Has anyone also noticed that they haven't had a full equalizer since the morning hours of operation at the market in Leg 2?

Actually based from the spoilers, leg 6 is completely unknown, it's leg 7 that's cebu bohol leg, the leg after this has barely any spoilers at all, the preview on saturday will finally reveal where they're headed and somewhere between this and leg 7, there will be an NEL, we just don't know where yet :) :wohoo:

The luck challenges before this Leg have been bad, but you can't go wrong with ATVs and the Paoay Sand Dunes :hrt:

Well, they did quit once and have threatened to quit a few times since.
Lucy & Emilia were 10x better since they actually wanted to be on the Race. It's like these last few legs RR & Jeck would much rather be eliminated, but until they run out of luck, they don't mind the TV exposure. There's a difference between weak and completely checked out of the Race and walang pakialam, so to speak.
The only other awful team for me are Vince & Ed. I hope them and RR & Jeck are the next two eliminated because everyone else is fine, have forgotten stupid alliances and are finally racing.

RR & Jeck were fun to watch on TV, but their race spirit wasn't that good. They lack that competitive spirit even if they were trying their best. Their biggest mistake was most likely giving it to Vince & Ed. Had they not done that, they would've taken a mentally strong team out of the race.
I honestly wanted to see them eliminated on the 1st leg. :lol: But after seeing them as very entertaining, I'm glad they stayed for a while. ;)

Finally the Cebu leg is over, next week we will be seeing the Bohol leg, this leg has been bugging me for weeks and now that it's going to air in a few days, it will finally answer the last team that will join the Top 5 in Iloilo :wohoo:

I cried :'( at RR & Jeck's elimination statement. I understand where they're coming from, being from a pampered home life going into the Race is not easy. But when you keep being behind, you play to survive. However, sometimes being tired wins out. They let Vince & Ed win the Coin Flip Duel since it involved a lot of running (and lately, they were just walking everywhere). I guess they didn't expect to vault themselves forwards at the Cooking Detour and give themselves a fighting chance... And it showed they knew this since it was the first time in the past 2 legs that they were physically running. I wonder if given the chance to run again, would they accept? ???

I think im the only one who likes the miracle boys. Lol its rare for me to root for m/m team but after the frontrunners made an alliance, i started to like them. I wanna see nerds or jet/yna leave next.

Kelvin & JP are my favorites because they've gone through the Race on their own (after the 1st leg mess of course).
Great to see them #2 after overcoming the U-Turns and being last in Linear legs.

In the trailer, there's a scene of AJ crying almost like a big surprise or a sigh of relief. Likely at a Pit Stp and it was after dark. Maybe that's here?
That hammock challenge looks hilariously absurd (maybe truly abnormal lol) but lots of fun! These teams really need to do lots more physical tasks after getting it easy the first few legs.

Now that Matt/Phoebe are safe (Now I can breathe :lol: ) as well as Jet/Yna, it really doesn't make sense. The last three teams were all spotted in Iloilo. AJ/Jody in a tricycle with the fresh vegetables. JP/Kelvin spotted at the Zombie Apocalypse task. Were there pictures of Vince/Ed racing in Iloilo?

A NEL seems unlikely, there are only 10 legs. It's either there was a Salvage Pass and Roch/Eji used it on the last team (making the next leg a double elimination), or one of them are decoys racing in Iloilo.

Which leads me to think that they really did quit, but instead of sending them home, they placed the Nerds in between AJ/Jody and JP/Kelvin to confuse us, as if the nerds were still the race.

In one of the previews I've seen, the one where the carabaos were dragging the teams while they where trying to capture the flag. I noticed the background, it's so familiar and I think I've seen it before but I can't confirm it yet. I think carabao-flag dragging task is somewhere at Central Philippine University because I distinctively saw that gate that looks similar at CPU. If it were true, then why hasn't any of the students at CPU spoiled or talked about it, hmmm ???

I noticed that in the re-edited promo of the TARP where they showed Derek with the finish line mat zooming out with the camera, I slowly paused it and noticed on the left side of the screen that there was a guy who was wearing a white shirt that vaguely resembles Jet, including the body type.
IIRC Jet was once wearing a white shirt on one of the legs, could it be that Jet and Yna had somehow been eliminated somwhere in a future leg? ???
There was another person to the guys right, almost a woman, possibly Yna ???
Now I have to ask you people, for those who have seen the finish line spoiler, do any of you remember what color of the shirt was Jet wearing? Please I need an answer to confirm this :) TY

I agree, the leg design was really bad. Let's break it down.
White pearl: An okay task, but only because all three teams started at the same time.
Rappelling: What basically killed all tasks that followed. It spread the teams too far apart. Starting here, you won't see two teams in the same frame. And the puzzle part of the task is just pathetic. They could have at least broken the frame into puzzle pieces to make the task harder.
Alibata memorization: A good task ruined by teams being too far apart.
Clueboxes on the beach: An okay task I guess. If the beach had more than 200 clue boxes, I would be satisfied. But the fake suspense just made it unbearable.
Just four tasks? I'm sad. :( It sort of reminds me of the season 19 finale. Though happy for all three teams, just a let down of an episode.

Overall, I liked this season, but eh. I hated the winners. The route and tasks though greatly improved in the middle of the Race!

Okay, so since active TV knew TAR25 had a final 4 final Leg, why the hell didn't they just do that here on TARPH instead of that stupid Double Elimination!? :gaah:

Most of the blame goes to Bertram and Active TV for deciding on that one task an episode format which forced them to have to come up with dumb tasks to fill the time.
In this case, quantity =/= quality.
They will just really need to scrap this format they used for season 2.
For a season 3, they should just return to normal/season 1 editing. Then maybe have 2 legs a week (Mon-Wed and Thurs-Sat) with more Legs (16?! = 8 week run) or just 5 days a week instead, Saturday recap and Sunday marathon.
There is zero chance for a just a weekly show because of the cost.

I remember Willie's schedule going overtime. :lol: I don't think there was a problem with the old format, but it can still be improved. :)

I think the reason why the changes the format to the one-two task/s per episode was to avoid re explaining or not explaining tasks. It would be kinda frustrating if you happen on one episode and there is a task, but it wasn't explained to you since a team already started the task the previous episode. And if they do re-explain it, it would eat time for the 30-minute episode.

I didn't like her partner on the show buuut....
Phoebe Walker (TARPH2 winner) was recently crowned BEST ACTRESS at the Metro Manila Film Festival (one of, if not THE most prestigious film awards in the Philippines)! She played a nun in Erik Matti's Seklusyon, one of my favorite horror movies of the year (and one of my favorite Filipino horror movies PERIOD), and it's a well-deserved victory.
Considering how godawful the Metro Manila Film Festival usually was, this year was nothing short of phenomenal with all the changes, but that's not the story I'm sharing in relevance to this :cmaslol
