Well that was unexpected. TAR14 and TAR15 have been quietly released on DVD this week: http://amzn.to/1mpYbqZ
TAR12 and TAR13 only started shipping out a month or two ago I think.

That was done extremely quietly; TVShows on DVD didn't even get the word out that either was forthcoming, which they're usually able to do.
Hopefully the production flaw that plagued the original pressing of the TAR 12 DVDs will be avoided this time. I'll be ordering this summer when I get a cash infusion and will get caught up on my DVD ordering. (At least I already have these two seasons from I-Tunes.)
And if you read the full description on I Tunes, both seasons include the Elimination Station featurettes.

Really surprised to see Zev & Justin on the cover of TAR15 to be honest!
Season 15 was just (in my opinion) a very okay season, Zev & Justin being one of the few teams that made it good, so I guess it's appropriate.

Unfortunately, I do not own any of the TAR DVDs. :'( I wonder if they come with any special behind the scenes features or anything else cool? I know that these 2 both list Elimination Station. Any other perks of owning the DVDs that we should know about?

Got mine today. No audio on playback in my Panasonic BR player, previous seasons no problem. They play fine on my Sony BR play. After I watch them I send them back for replacement (or finally replay the Panasonic which has the habit of locking up and it takes a power cycle to unlock.)

I can't help but be disappointed with the TAR 14 cover. Kisha & Jen do in fact deserve to be on it. Seeing it reminds me just how much the editors favored those four teams during that season. It was ridiculous. :P

Question about the DVDS: Do they all come with audio commentary and/or Unaired scenes?
I know that Season 1 and 7 do because they were more..."professionally"(?) produced? But what about all the others from 2-15?

None of the others have commentary or unaired scenes, but the DVDs starting with season 12 include the Elimination Station videos. :)

LOL, there's 4 blondes in TAR 17 cover (Nat, Brook, Jill, Mallory), and 1 for each team.

The Cowboys literally take up half the space for the teams! Dan & Jordan are practically peeking out from behind them, Brent is almost shoved off the cover and Louie is almost covered by just Cord's backpack :crazy: :groan:

:groan: Not sure what all the belly-aching about which racers are on the cover... the rule, at least with the CBS released DVD (Seasons 1 & 7) is that the cover features the FINAL 3 teams plus the 4th place losers. That was the complaint from fans that the season is spoiled just by looking at the cover. You have a 25% chance of picking the finalists.
Can't talk about the Amazon released DVD (Seasons 2 thru 6, 8 thru infinity...), but I assume they follow the same rule... I'm just too lazy to look up on Wikipedia if that is true. ;)
So there, that's how that works. Popularity has nothing to do with the cover art. AFAIK. :umn:

While you have a point, WRP or Amazon or whoever are not gonna put INV teams on the cover. They'll pick the "stars of the season." Hence why the Cowboys are on the cover of the TAR16 DVD instead of Monique and Shawne.

WTF? :ascared have I stumbled into some sort of bizarre world? IIRC, Jet & Cord finished second in TAR16. HENCE the reason they are on the cover art. ERGO, it appears Amazon is following the pattern of the original CBS DVD covers. IPSO FACTO, it's NOT a popularity contest. :res:

I think the point here is they are in the foreground instead of Dan and Jordan. The cowboys deserved to make it on the cover, I don't think Bookworm wants to deny the fact that they come in 2nd place. But completely taking up 1/2 to 1/3 of the cover? :res: And it is true that they pick WHO they THINK is the more popular team from the season as well.
Look at Zev and Justin, 9th place but made the TAR 15 cover. I don't think Lena and Kristy made Season 6 cover. Trolls out, maybe not?

What people have issue with is not that Jet & Cord are on the cover, it's that they pretty much take up most OF the cover.
Not only do they take over most of the team space up top, they take up 1/3 of the in-race shots at the bottom.

Just take season 17 in comparison, Brooke and Claire are in the same position as the cowboys, but Nat and Kat, the winners, are still sort of "bigger" than them and not pushed into the background.

For those of you who pre-ordered seasons 16 and 17, you should expect to start seeing delivery on Monday. My order has just shipped, and on Amazon Prime, that is the usual two calendar day delivery scheduled.
If you haven't pre-ordered, this means both seasons have now been released.
