I really don't see a reason to go back to SPACE, nothing good came out of the seasons done by them IMO, since they took over we've had this races with 3 legs in the same country, the editing was horrible during the entire race, challenges were mostly lame, and in the last episode they aired commercial while the teams were running to the finish line and came back to the show when the winners were almost leaving the mat after talking to Toya... that moment made me so angry I don't know if I can take another season from them... They've been with extra scenes online, but nothing else really.

I've been checking Space website and something caught my eye: there's a new countdown active. Today is marking 321. If you count the same number of days, the final day is DECEMBER 8TH, that is a Monday, the day that TARLA is emited.

Taking into consideration that last season finale was aired December 9, I guess we could spec that is the date of this season finale.

And going beyond, counting back the previous Mondays, we can speculate a season beginning for the SEPTEMBER 15TH.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't count on it, considering they haven't even set up the applications and I don't know for sure if they can set the finale day before even setting up editing process, how much it would take the preproduction and actual production of the race... unless I'm clearly missing something...

It's April already..and no news about it. Pretty much done i think.

Applications for last season were posted on February - I checked that on the old TARLA thread - and we had the filming on June and aired the show on September . Could this mean that we'll have the filming on August and the broadcast in October? ???

Could there be a reason to believe they were waiting for the World Cup to end to start filming?
Maybe to clear people's agendas, camera men :umn: , flight tickets and flight traffic will probably drop after it.

That would put filming in the second half of July ???

I'm not a fan of what has Space done to the Latinamerican franchise but I feel like TARLA 6 will be a revival of it, I'm hopeful and grateful that the show is still going and will have more seasons to go :)

Let's hope this is a new beginning for The Amazing Race Latinoamerica. I want to believe the delay was needed to make the show better, because I believe it can be better, it just needs to take a few risks. :)

With the delay I'm guessing Toya is bussy with another projects so I don't see her coming back to the show.
I honestly don't know, I'm not familiar with her work in Colombia so... will have to wait and see what happens.

I think is a campaign to place them in. I've seen a lot of tweets in the last days supporting them. Besides, the registration is still open (there are tweets from Space and Turner about it every day) so I don't believe they've already been chosen.

Vitoko and I were speculating for a late July-early August start. Remember we have the FIFA World Cup starting in ten days, and it takes a whole month to complete it. That means lots of movement of people and is posible - as Vitoko says in his post from May 1st. - that they are waiting to have availabity of flights, films crews, etc.

This could actually change ratings of the show and we might also get to see a different weather condition...

Ok... I'm officially confused...

The first deadline for the applications we heard about was July 10th... via unknown source, only read in facebook's posts...

Later the deadline was announce to be July 1st... by producers of the show again via Facebook and twitter and articles on news sites like the alenaveda found...

NOW Space official facebook promotion and a TV ad for the online applications going on in Space channel, state the deadline to be July 10th.

If applications are still up tomorrow, deadline is probably July 10th but this is a really confusing message.

I'm so glad I found this page.

I've been a fan of The Amazing Race since its beginnings and this year I finally submitted an application for The Amazing Race Latin America.

Like many here, I've been confused by the deadlines and the timing.

The deadline was officially July 10th.

As observed earlier, the casting period for earlier seasons was between 1.5 and 2 months (ending between February and April), with filming starting between May and July, and broadcasting usually begins in late September or early October.

This year's July 10 deadline is odd. Assuming one month for casting, filming would start in August. Would that give them enough time to edit the show and broadcast in September? Seems very tight.

If you look at the video the guy doesn't even know what is going on... looks like production took the decision for him ???... I don't quite understand what is going on or what would his role be on the race... but both Toya Montoya & Jaime Arellano will host TARLA6...

Very interesting. It does sound/look official.

I was looking thru the other topic (on TAR Ecuador, here: http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,29830.0.html) to learn more.

1. I doubt they are going to film a TAR for a small country with a small audience.

2. I doubt the entire race would take place in Ecuador.

3. Most likely explanation: TARLA6 might have its starting point in Ecuador (first leg) and thus the new Ecuadorian co-host, the "agreement" with the tourism ministry, the local channel that will broadcast the show, etc.

To summarize:
Two teams each from Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina and México, plus one team from Chile.
One team from Ecuador and one team from Colombia confirmed as having been on reality TV before.
Only one female-female team, two male-male teams, and the rest are male-female couples.
No one in the picture looks older. They all seem young.

There are lots of problems with the casting, and many people have commented in the Facebook groups and pages related to TARLA.

It seems the casting process was a farce: there's NO WAY the casting directors read through applications, watched videos, called people back, had interviews and flew everyone into Ecuador in 18 days.

The application form listed all countries in Latin America, yet they selected only the five biggest markets, plus Ecuador (because of the deal with the local government channel).

I'd love for Brazil to host its own show going forward. The country/market is big enough. If it ran on a non-cable TV channel, it would find an audience, just like Big Brother has become a hit there.

So that's why they partnered with a local TV station (government owned) in Ecuador: the race won't leave Ecuador.

Makes sense to save money, but how do they expect to draw an audience from countries that have no team and won't be visited?

This is so disappointing... Ecuador is too small to have it's own season.... TARLA 4 exclusively in Brazil was bad enough...
I even feel sorry for the teams selected to be on this... Can you imagine their hopes to travel around latin america?

Canada 1 proved that you can make a race in a single country and it can work... but this are not good news, I' not getting my hopes up, I'm not even gonna look for spoilers, I think I'm just gonna wait to the season to air and TRY to enjoy it because so far I'm disappointed.

I'm surprised they excluded Brazil completely. The largest country in Latin America has no participants (and the race won't visit Brazil, of course).

There's no incentive for Brazilian viewers to watch at all. I wonder if Space will even go thru the trouble of adding subtitles in Portuguese.

Brazil isn't really "Latin America", though. Latin America would imply that it was colonized by the Spanish. I would consider all of South and Central America to be Latin America except for Belize, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

Brazil is Latin America. They were colonized by Portugal that is a latin country as Spain, France and Italy.

In fact, the definition for all the countries colonized by Spain is "hispanic". That's why when we talk about the spanish spoken nations of this continent, we refer ourselves as "Hispanic America".

I say the prize is OK considering the scale of the race...

IIRC 100000 dollars is right around the same amount you get for winning every reality show made here in Chile... now that's usually to 1 winner... but they are not emmy winners reality shows... and they are not broadcasted out of the country...

That would be the only one way it'd work. Just rewatch what happened in seasons 1 & 2 between Tamara & Matías and Anna & Rodrigo/Daniel & Carlos; and Aleandra & Marlene and Guilherme & Vinicius.

This is a "special" season. There's an agreement between Disney Media and the goverment of Equador, so the race will be mostly in that country - apparently it was revealed that there would be some legs outside Equador as it happened with TARLA 4 Brazil Edition -.

Ok, your call. I disagree, though, and I'll explain why.

I'm OK with a user uploading a video to YouTube or a torrent ONLY IF the TV channel does not provide the option to view the show on their website (or on YouTube).

In this case (and in the case of many other TV channels), they have slowly realized there is a large audience on the internet, and thus they upload the videos (either to YouTube or their own websites).

I feel I should watch the video they uploaded "officially", even if it has ads, because my support today means they will continue uploading shows in the future, without the need for piracy of any kind.

My two cents. :)
