Previously on The Amazing Race...

11 teams began an epic adventure. Along the way, teams soared over Chile, battled in Portugal, lunged into the Arctic, and roared through Abu Dhabi. The Express Pass was leverged by Tim & Marie, and U-Turns were used... against the Afghanimals.

7 teams were eliminated.

Within the final 4, Jason & Amy and Nicole & Travis bonded, while others battled. Through U-Turns, stolen taxis, and heated battles, the 4 teams still survived.

Jason & Amy were very consistent through the race and in their relationship. They had 5 2nd place finishes before finally managing to get a first place finish.

Nicole & Travis started the race as power parents, excelling in challenges and strategies. In recent legs, Nicole has crumbled under pressure. They still managed to get into the final 4.

Tim & Marie proved that you don't have to like each other to work well together. They fought a lot... :cmaslol With Marie leading the way, they earned a spot in the final 4.

Leo & Jamal were loud and obnoxious (and still are :reindeer). With early stumbles and surviving 2 U-Turns, they appeared poised to take control with a few 1st places. Instead, they barely hung on and now face a speedbump in the final 4.

Coming up tonight, one of these teams will win $1 million and The Amazing Race.

And here we go!

Jason & Amy depart 1st at 1:25 AM. Fly to Tokyo, Japan. Once landed, proceed to Gotokuji Temple where there will be a bunch of ceramic cats. :cmaslol Once there, they will find their next clue. Amy is doing flight research. They want to make sure that Nicole & Travis make it in the final 3 as well. They want all teams to be on the same flight.

Tim & Marie depart 2nd at 2:25 AM. Tim says they have a bunch of skills.

Nicole & Travis depart 3rd at 2:26 AM. Travis is very competitive and he doesn't like losing. Nicole says things come easily for Travis.

Amy says that the flight arriving at 6:10 AM is full. All the teams are getting on the flight that arrives at 6:20 AM.

Leo & Jamal depart last at 3:19 AM. They think that the other teams will try to get them out.

First 3 teams are discussing how to get the Afghanimals out. They all agree to work together.

Afghanimals arrive at the flight agency place. Travis & Nicole still don't like how Afghanimals lied to them, lol.

Afghanimals are on the same flight, but they will do additional research... They found a way to get in at 6:10 AM!

Afghanimals get on the 6:10 AM flight. All the other 3 teams assume that Afghanimals will get on their 6:20 AM flight... but they don't. Tricky Afghanimals.

Leo & Jamal are first in Tokyo. Second flight lands at 6:17 AM. Jason & Amy and Nicole & Travis got taxis, but their taxi drivers don't know where to go. Marie did research and she has the address, but she doesn't have a taxi. She won't give out the address until she gets a taxi...

Nicole & Travis want to leave, but their taxi driver thinks that all 3 teams are together, lol. Tim & Marie finally get a taxi, and then all 3 teams leave. :cmaslol

I wasn't sure if the risky connection was worth the 10 minute lead that it yielded, but it worked and that could potentially be enough time to overcome the Speed Bump and balance the playing field... :cmas51

Travis doesn't like that they had to wait for Tim & Marie. Marie isn't surprised that their alliance thing isn't working well so far, lol.

Afghanimals' taxi driver misses the entrance. Afghanimals ask the cats to bring them good luck lol. Detour: Knock It Down or Call It Up. In Knock It Down, teams will be human bowling balls. In the other detour, teams will make a call in a telephone booth with goldfish...? No regular detour introduction.

Afghanimals choose Knock It Down because after season 20, they're dying to do a Japanese game show. Afghanimals figure they're in 1st.

3 team alliance arrives together. Jason & Amy and Tim & Marie pick Knock It Down. Nicole & Travis pick Call It Up.

None of their taxi drivers know any of the locations, lol. The drivers refuse to separate from each other. :cmaslol What a disaster. All the taxi drivers want to follow each other... This reminds me of season 19's leg 11, lol.

Afghanimals arrive at the detour first. Teams will have to get into outfits. They get dressed up into very colourful outfits. The game show host instructs them to do a bunch of things.

WOAH DETOUR INTRO NOW?

Knock It Down: Both team members must become the ball and try to knock down all the pins. Once they score a strike, the host will hand them their clue.

Jamal goes down the ramp first. He doesn't get the strike. LOL. Jamal had trouble getting back up the ramp. Teams will have to alternate partners. What is actually happening. :cmaslol Leo doesn't bowl a strike. And now he's trying to get up. :cmaslol

All the 3 teams are at Kinuta Park... Nicole & Travis and Jason & Amy run out of the taxi... Tim & Marie don't seem to want to do this detour. They're waiting at the parking lot. Omg. Nicole & Travis and Jason & Amy just keep walking because only 2 teams can do the goldfish detour at the same time. Tim & Marie get directions...? This is a mess. I think they've left to do bowling. Jamy and Nicole & Travis arrive at the telephone booths filled with water and goldfish.

Call It Up: One team member will have to jump in and make a call. They will have to tell their partner what they heard. Once the judge says it's correct, they will get their clue.

Afghanimals keep missing the strikes. They figured out far left and far right didn't work, so they try going down the middle. And it ends up being a strike. They're done the detour in 1st. Proceed to the fountain at Shinjuku Chuo Koen. Afghanimals decide to put their clothes back to trick the teams into thinking that they're behind.

Amy: "It looks cute. It feels like I'm in Finding Nemo."

Amy and Travis get into the outfits lol.

Amy's having trouble getting a deep breath. Amy hears it and she falls out of the telephone booth lol. She tells Jason. Jason gets the message correct.

Travis hears the message and Nicole gets the message correct.

Jason & Amy are done the detour in 2nd, Travis & Nicole in 3rd. Was this detour easy or what.

Tim & Marie arrive at bowling. They see all the outfits and they think Afghanimals had a travel disaster. Omg. The host asks if they're boyfriend and girlfriend. AWKWARD. LOL.

Tim: "She broke my heart."
Host: "It's an American love story!"
Marie: "No, it's an American horror story."

Tim shoves Marie off the ramp thing. Funny confessional about trying to kill Marie. :cmaslol

They fail twice. Commercial.

And we're back. Marie says she's going to blast Tim into the wall and because Tim's heavier, he should get it. And it works. Streamers everywhere, yay. They're finished the detour in last. They think Afghanimals have done the phone thing or got screwed at the airport.

Afghanimals arrive at the fountain. What's with the people with nets? :cmaslol Speedbump. Become an apprentice zookeeper and capture an escaped rhino (it's fake, LOL)... This is a real drill. :cmaslol LOL. Once the animal has been contained, they can proceed.

Is this seriously a speedbump LOL. Afghanimals don't do it correctly. They have to do what the zookeepers do.

Nicole & Travis and Jason & Amy arrive at the fountain! They finally see the Afghanimals. The Afghanimals see them too! Roadblock.

Roadblock: Build a robot.

Okay. Great explanation, Phil. The example is tiny and teams will have to build a huge version. Amy and Nicole have to do the detour. They might be working together? Amy says it's like building Lego.

Afghanimals making a lot of noise at the speedbump. They successfully finish the speedbump. "Dumb and dumber is helping each other out."

Leo has to do the roadblock. Amy and Nicole are helping each other. Amy had no trouble with helping Nicole this time because Amy wouldn't be able to hold the pieces by herself.

Jamal has faith in Leo. Leo seems to be doing well.

Tim & Marie arrive at the roadblock in last... And they realized that they're in last. Marie doesn't see a model the same size as what they're building. She asks Amy and Nicole, but they don't respond... or they don't hear her. Leo ends up telling her omg.

Jason and Travis are frustrated that they can't be doing this roadblock. First robot seems to be done.

Jamal: "I never knew there were team roadblocks in the race."

Marie is going super quickly. She's copying the other robot and she's using the ground as leverage.

Leo's robot seems close to completetion. Marie passes Amy and Nicole's robot. Nicole tells Amy to not look at Marie in a stern tone. This is insane.

Marie has blown past Nicole and Amy. Leo's robot is looking close.

All teams are pretty even.

Leo asks for a judge... IT IS NOT APPROVED. Amy notices that Leo's robot's middle piece is wrong because the buttons are on the wrong side.

Amy and Nicole alternate between robots so if they get 1 piece right, the other piece is right. However, they ask for a judge and it's not correct. Their top and bottom piece are wrong.

Something of Marie's falls apart.

Leo asks for a judge but it's still incorrect. He doesn't know what's wrong with it.

Nicole and Amy's robot is still incorrect. Nicole is getting very testy with Amy. The top and bottom piece still need to be reversed.

Marie has caught up... She asks for a judge. OMG SHE'S DONE THE ROADBLOCK IN FIRST. LOOOOOOOL. Teams have to find a roaming vending machine.
Marie: "Thanks for not helping me, guys."

Jason and Travis don't seem to be very supportive. Travis tells Jason that Nicole is weak... omg. Nicole's robot is not approved again. Amy goes over to the model and she figures out the top and bottom are wrong. They have to take their robots apart.

Leo's robot is still not approved.

Amy's robot is approved... Amy doesn't know whether she should leave or help. Amy starts helping Nicole. Jason is frustrated. Oh my gosh.

Tim & Marie have arrived at the central place. They see the walking vending machine and Marie asks for the clue from the vending machine... several times LOL. The clue goes out of the slot.

Walk on foot to Konno Hachimangu Shrine. The last team to check in will be eliminated.

Leo gets his robot wrong again. Leo realizes the midsection is wrong. Amy finally leaves Nicole. Jason says they wasted about 7-10 minutes helping Nicole.

LOL. A robot is the greeter.
Tim: "At least she's not going to trade me in for that."
Marie: "That would be the greatest partner in the world."

Tim & Marie are team #1. They're super happy. They won a trip to Aruba. Phil: "I don't know if you want to go together." :cmaslol Marie says they're going to put their Hawaii trip and Aruba trip into a hat and draw so they won't go with each other.

If I watched only this leg, I would probably not like Jason & Amy and Nicole & Travis lol. Afghanimals did very well.

Sadly I like them more than Travis&Nicole this leg... Travis especially... They run a really good last leg until Leo stumble at the roadblock... For that leg they totally deserved the 3rd spot on the finale.

And here we are! Leg 12!

Tim & Marie depart 1st at 6:08 AM. Fly to Juneau, Alaska. Proceed to Douglas Island Harbour and take one of the boats to Grizzly Bars. Marie made Tim sign a 60/40 split of the money if they win, omg. LOL. :cmaslol Marie says that they're not Travis & Nicole and they're not here to enjoy the race.

Jason & Amy depart at 6:15 AM. Jason thinks that they're one of the best teams to run the race with 6 2nd places. Amy says she's happy that she's helped Nicole and she thinks that they won't do so well without her help.

Nicole & Travis depart at 6:22 AM. No more alliance with Jason & Amy.

Tim & Marie are first at the airport. Jason: "We want the same thing as them but the earlier flight." :cmaslol All teams are (obviously) on the same flight.

And we're here in Juneau. Teams madly running out of the airport to get taxis. First taxi that all the teams run to is already taken. Jason & Amy get someone to call them a taxi.

Nicole & Travis get a taxi.

Jason & Amy get the taxi that they called for.

Tim & Marie got the last taxi. Lots of competition for taxis.

Nicole & Travis are the first ones to get on a boat. Jason & Amy get the second boat. Amy falls running to the boat, lol. Tim  & Marie get the last boat. All teams are very close together.

Jason & Amy yell at their boat driver because Tim & Marie were way behind but they caught up now.

Nicole & Travis are first to land. Jason & Amy are second to land. Tim & Marie aren't far behind.

Nicole & Travis get the first clue. Roadblock. Drop a bag of flour on the target while flying in a plane. Nicole is going to do it.

All teams are pretty much together. All 3 girls are doing the roadblock.

All the girls are in planes... Nicole is the first one to attempt to drop the flour... She drops it but it barely misses the target. Amy is the next one to attempt it but misses. Marie barely misses too. All were very close.

Nicole's 2nd attempt is further off. Amy's 2nd attempt lands on the target! :cmas9 Huge hug from Jason once she lands. They're out in 1st. Helicopter to Norris Glacier and participate ice expedition. Once they pick a guide, teams will start at the base of the glacier. They will have to look for their clue in the ice and chip it out with an ice axe.

Marie misses her 2nd attempt. Nicole misses her 3rd attempt. Travis says Nicole has struggled with her last few roadblocks. :cmas11

Jason & Amy are off to the glacier by helicopter.

Nicole misses again. Marie misses again.

Nicole misses again. Marie gets it on her 12TH ATTEMPT? Woah. They're off to the glacier.

Travis: "Oh well. It's just for a million dollars. Sometimes, not being successful is a hard pill to swallow."

Tim & Marie leave on their helicopter. Nicole's on her 15th attempt and misses. Travis says he can tell Nicole is flustered. Nicole tries again and misses again. Travis is frustrated.

Back at the first roadblock... Nicole says she felt a lot of anxiety and a lot of disappointment. She finally gets it on her 21st attempt. Wow. Nicole apologizes to Travis. Seems awkward in the helicopter. They're not saying much to each other. Nicole looks over at Travis and he's just looking straight. He turns to look at Nicole for a brief moment and then looks back, shaking his head... Wow.

Jason & Amy are in the ice tunnel. It is super cool. In both ways. Meanwhile, Jason is being very supportive. LOL.

Travis & Nicole arrive at the glacier and Marie is trying to get up the glacier.

Tim & Marie proceed through the ice tunnel.

Travis goes across the ladder.

Back with Jason & Amy, still chipping away at clues. Tim & Marie are out of the tunnel.

More try again... Try again... Jason & Amy finally get a clue. Paddle a tandum kayak to a marked island.

Travis has made it across. It's Nicole's turn. She makes it across the ladder and goes to grab the ice picks... However, she slips and one of the picks falls down into the cliff. :cmas18 Nicole only has 1 pick now...

Jason & Amy are first to the marked island. It's a huge red flag. Cluebox. Helicopter back to Juneau. Then proceed to Blueberry Hills Trailhead for their next clue.

It's always been a possibility but I think that because it had never been done before teams wouldn't think to make note of currency and so it would be a actual hard memory challenge.

Well, I guess that Jay & Amy are OK winners, they were pretty consistent. Tim & Marie got a more positive edit towards the end, it would have been good to have a closer finish. Travis really got a reality check during these last legs, and I wouldn't have liked for them to win.

Yeah, exactly. And there was no chance to catch up in any of the tasks, except the currency, but that itself would require somebody to majorly screw up.

Good for Jamy but I feel them boring too. They have no All-Stars quality so they should win because they might have no second chance to do this.

I actually wish that either they stop with those Roadblocks, or don't even put any Roadblocks in the finale unless it's a memory one.

I think it's time they turn things around and throw in a ton of Route Info additional tasks and include a BALANCED Detour. Something new!

Completely agree with you!

Plus these days everyone is prepared for memory challenges, so those don't offer up as much chance for the order to be shuffled unless it is really well planned like TAR21, so the suspense is taken out of them. :(

YAY JAMY WON! I actually picked a winning team from the beginning...  :cmas51

I really like the Tokyo leg, WAAAAY better than the Alaska leg...

Tim and Marie DESERVED to win the that leg... Period!
Marie KILLED that Roadblock ...
When I was watching her finish the Roadblock first, I literally jumped off my chair and said "HOLY ****!!! What the....Damn!! The bitch is goooooooooood!" yeah with that many O's
So anyone who hated Marie's gut could just shove it up their ass and leave the goddess alone!
And it was so funny how she literally passed Amy and Nicole who...like, hey ladies! the task is called a "Roadblock".
I kinda wish Afghanimals actually got their side right so they could live Amy and Nicole fighting for last. LOL wouldn't that be funny, they helped each other and all of sudden they were fighting for last.

The Alaska leg, Idk. It was too linear. Almost legs in US were linear. It was kinda sucked and disappointing.
Amy basically got lucky in the Roadblock, they had a decent lead, and they won...
Just like last season...
The currency challenge, boy did I not see that coming...
This could actually be a turning event for any other teams to catch Jamy but they will need Jamy to screw up SO BAD --maybe Jamy got hit on the head with one of the tubes and suffer a major memory loss and forget that they just ran the amazing race-- or something like that, so that they could catch up.
Also it was more like a puzzle challenge rather than currency challenge.
If they are to make a memory task, they need to make sure its fundamental is memory, not just some puzzles even my little sister could assemble. So teams who didn't remember or who didn't take a note would actually get stuck. Last season had a better memory challenge. And it wasn't even that good.

Overall, the season is okay. To be quite honest, I kinda liked previous season better than this one. But this season was not exactly bad. Some of the legs were worth watching. Gdansk and Tokyo are awesome. Lisbon and Bandung I are great. Bandung II and Norway are not so bad either.

Jamy winning is amazing. Their Karma theory paid off in their favor. Helping Nicole turned out to be their biggest and best move during the race.

Tim and Marie should give their romantic relationship another shot, like is it just me but these two are totally made for each other. Their little story about how they got into the show is cute. And Marie finally said she loved Tim. LOL. I don't know exactly on what term but carry on...

Nicole and Travis, good luck with the kids...

Lookin' forward to next season ...wait do I? since I already know the teams and it was just  .. Meh!

Of the final 4, only Jamy didn't turn my stomach for their attitude and behaviours.  Afghanimals were nasty, Travis turned extremely ugly and emotional abusive to Nicole, and I just plain wanted to snatch Marie bald with her sense of entitlement.

Good job! I was totally blind with that. I never expected that the currency would be their final challenge. I thought since it was Alaska there won't be any of this sorta challenge...

I actually prefered Alaska to Tokyo leg, it had just plain awesome tasks!  :cmas26
Though I liked the Japan leg, the speedbump was just... awful. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH JAPAN!  :cmas12

Perhaps it is just me, but the throwing flour from the plane was not linear, and I actually loved it.  I just wished they showed a chart of where each of the contestants' bags fell.

Jamy were absolutely intolerable during the finale, sorry, they were just irritating with their OTT-self-righteous attitude - they claim, "they are one of the best teams to ever run the Race." With 6 2nd place finishes? Um, I don't think so - Rachel and Dave/Meghan and Cheyne/Nick and Starr are all calling...! Even Nicole and Travis technically could claim they were better (despite their meltdown from Indo onwards) as they never left the Top 4 once during the whole Race

I really hope the final Memory challenge was more difficult.
I know it's kind of physical so they could not make it Roadblock. However, they should give more of puzzle pieces than needed so they should try a lot, not only once try and correct.

I have so much to say, but I could forget a lot while typing... so I decided not to post stuff that I've posted back in other episodes. It's a great season :xmas146 . IMHO, the winners this season are better than the winners of last season.
