My friend and I were talking about the cast yesterday and we figured out that the problem why this cast sucks is because they used to bring really popular teams back in Allstars that majority liked over minority (ChaChas, Charla and Mirna, Dustin and Kandace, David and Mary, Uchenna and Joyce, JVJ...) and in UB (Ron and Chris, Goths, Margie and Luke, Jaime and Cara, Cowboys, Gary and Mallory...) and there were only a few misses.There were definitely enough teams for All-Stars, especially going back to TAR12. Even if only TAR19-TAR23, there are far better choices than what we are getting.
But this time round, they seemed to be bringing back a few of LEAST popular team of the season based on public response (Leo and Jamal, Nadiya and Natalie..) and some of the teams they brought back weren't even fan favourites. And a lot of fan favourites are not back (yes they are not available blah blah blah)... then isn't it too early for an Allstars?

Although I've spent the last few days complaining that there's three-timers in the race I really hope the twins come back for another season. I think it's just more annoying that the other three-timers actually had the chance to race for the $million.
well I am very disappointed with this cast, I think it's even weaker than the cast in TAR18....
Fine to have:
Dave/Connor
Brandon/Rachel
Natalie/Natalya
Joey/Maghan
Questionable/Boring team:
Caroline/Jennifer (They are boring tbh, Jen is alright but Caroline got no personality, and they got far in TAR22 only because of luck)
Leo/Jamal (maybe they will be more important in TAR23 to justify why they are invited back)
Mark/Mallory (I don't like this combination, it looks so random...)
John/Jessica (I know they are remembered for not using their EP before elimination, this is their own fault and hence should not be a reason for them to be cast again)

Seriously, these 3-timers all got 2nd place before (TAR14, 16 and 18), if they could still be invited back why not for the Beauty Queens!! Why??? I think BQ are still the most competitive F/F team by far, they can really represent the show.
So from my point of view I can only understand casting the first 4 teams here, they could have done better for the remaining 7 teams, like Bill/Cathi, Andy/Tommy, Abbie/Ryan, James/Jamyes, Pam/Winne, Tim/Marie and Nicole/Travis; even Trey/Lexi, Jeremy/Sandy, Mona/Beth and Jason/Amy are much better than these!

Well, no, it's what they bring to the show and put on TV.Just because you don't like the teams doesn't mean the season or the teams are horrible. You don't know them .Ikr. People on sucks are like " This is probably the worst season ever " or "This is the worst cast ever " or " This is the worst all-stars season ever"Sounds like this first leg was very challenging and I hope it's a sign of things to come. As it's an all stars type season it goes without saying that it should be harder.I can tell this is going to be a great season! Hard Tasks. Exciting Teams and some close calls! We had one last night and it was only the first leg!
As much as People are going to complain about the cast, I reckon this season will be the most challenging the race has done and it will especially be if the Race is long.
Just because the twinnies got eliminated last night and YouTube didn't. If YouTube didn't get eliminated everyone would be like " What a great start to this season " It's pathetic. I can tell this season is probably gonna be one of the best competition wise we have ever had. I mean look at the teams. They all finished within 1 hour and 30 mins. It's seriously going to be season to watch.
Sucks is correct though, I abhor all teams at some level except for three.

The globbies are surprisingly really weak this season, along with John and Jessica, Youtube and Leo and Jamal.. (Caroline and Jennifer are obvious duh) :( (anyone wants to predict a 9th place Jaime and Cara / Singers elimination?) :(I think leo and jamal rae strong ,they complete task quickly,maybe they didn't get good luck?
It's Brenchel, Margie and Luke, Jet and Cord and Dave and Connor's race to lose, I feel. They have got the most potential IMHO.

I agree. We're definitely in the minority here, but I like them too. I'm also happy that Natalie and Nadia won't be on my tv for long. Though I wish Mark and Mallory were still in it. I also like Caroline & Jennifer. I'll even be ok with Brenchel staying in it if it means Youtube, John & Jessica and Afghanimals go. I could probably tolerate Margie & Luke and Dave & Connor if it's not another season of "we had cancer" or "he's deaf". We get it, you don't have to bring it up every episode. Obviously no matter what they do it's obvious that Luke is deaf, but I hate it when labels are placed on people. There's a fine line between being an inspirational story and being annoying with labels. I know that comment will probably not translate well in other languages and probably comes across as cold in English. That is certainly not my intent. I just want to see them race as people not as labeled people.

Brendon: I need a break from reality television! I really do. I try to tell Rachel every time. Every reality show adds one more year to my PhD. We're excited about getting married. That's what we're focusing on. We're getting settled in L.A. We're looking for a house and ideally we'd love to get married and move into our first new house together. I think we're ready to have a normal relationship that isn't a spectacle.

We had cancer and he's deaf is the main reason of why their hated (and incidentally their selling point to casuals). The latter is why it isn't going to happen, where we can actually see their personalities.

PS: I am all for Youtube in this Allstars because they are afterall positive and memorable. But what I cannot stand is their fans WISHING for the other teams to be eliminated so that their team can survive; and that is why half of us here wants them gone to solemnly piss off these rabid fans.

To be honest, they were pretty decent racers (better than bunnies) in TAR 22. As in, they were in the right alliance, they are nice people, so people tend to help them and not only that, they follow the instructions well.
The last season they really only struggled on legs with physical tasks. But on normal legs, they actually make pretty good decisions and survive well. Not a OMG STRENGTH pick for this season, but every season we need to have an underdog, like David and Mary in Allstars and I think Gary and Mallory are sort of like the underdog team chosen for TAR UB too.
Tbh, I think Youtube is just a lucky team (to make it to the F5) :umn: , but I still think that CaroJen is luckier than them. I'm just wondering now how CaroJen survived. ???

Well, I kinda agree though. The Malaysian leg looks a little rushed. But I guess with everything happening in the country right now, I guess we can wait a little. I HOPE THEY WOULD FILM THE COUNTRY IN SUMMER, not in these times where the weather becomes frenzy and all.March would be a great time for TAR to film in the Philippines, but the fall seasons usually film in June and that's right when typhoon season starts up again. =(

No. The show has never had back-to-back NEL that early in the race. In fact, save for Season 19, the show hasn't even had two NEL within the first 4 legs.

Anyways I rewatched clips (from my collection) of TAR 5, TAR 8, TAR 10, TAR 11, TAR 14, TAR 17, TAR 20, and TAR 23.
In terms of sound editing and Phil's spiels, I truly enjoyed the pre-TAR18 era (especially from TAR 14 to TAR 17). The music makes me excited and terrified and pumped at the same time. In today's era? I feel like I'm watching a soap opera. No more intense music? :|
Phil also used to narrate in his amazing "mysterious" voice, and in most tasks he described them which is actually good bcause we can learn a lot from that culture. His pre-TAR18 voice were so crisp and lovely that when he describes the tasks it makes it A LOT MORE INTERESTING. Now? He's annoyingly happy, which for me makes the tasks easier than expected.
For this all-star edition, I seriously do hope they return to what they have done before (especially during TAR14-17). With this cast and this boot order (yay for youtube for 3rd out hopefully lololol), having sounds and Phil's voice added makes me want to not watch it (but meh im still going to watch it for the sake of watching it :lol:)

About the first point, as I stated in some of the threads previously, it isn't the first time that we don't have major sightings. We were lucky of having the pic of the Pit Stop. Don't be surprised if we lost track of the team in some moment. I must say that it wouldn't be normal if this doesn't happen. Patient is the key now. We lost TAR23 after Vienna, and when we found them again in Indonesia we were able of filling the blanks backtracking the flights.
On the second part, posting as a madman in every thread of the board can be annoying for some people. It's ok to support one team, to defend it, to be sad for its elimination. But breaking rules - even not in purpose as I suspect it was your case - can irritate some people here. We appreciate every member of this forum, and nothing is more disturbing that watching most of you in a stupid fight as you've been having with your fellow mates. The respect is the key rule here, don't forget it. And for the banning petition; well, give them some time to really know you. And please slow down. Specially because you don't want to see Peach angry. Ok? Some times is better let things go.

One: There are really times that the Race is untrackable. How on earth can you track teams in the middle of the Sahara (an example)? Plus, don't you want some ~thrill~? Not that I don't love spoilers (I LOVE SPOILERS!!) but too much of it won't be exciting. :lol:

I don't think Johnnyboy should be banned. If he calms down a bit, I think he could be a good member of our little community. Johnnyboy reminds me a bit of Prophet. When Prophet arrived, it seemed like he made 200 posts a day and got to 5,000 posts in an incredibly short time. It was kind of annoying. Once he settled down, he became one of the more popular members around here. I hope Prophet isn't offended by my mentioning him here. I meant it as a compliment.

All of the racers are at least Top 5 (except JJ and Cancer), so maybe instead of going for popularity TPTB cast this season on thirst to win. Sure, we have 3 teams we've seen twice before, and a few teams that are "boring" as some people believe, (I personally love the cast), but even with that, imagine the excitement of watching this, the competitiveness between the teams will be tremendous and it's something I don't think we've EVER seen. It's one of the strongest casts ever, with the exception of Youtube.
And for that reason I feel that this could be one of the best seasons we've seen in a long time! :conf:

Adding on, the photographers might have been overwhelmed with excitement that the show they watch is being filmed in their country or city they forget they dislike that specific team. Another guess is numerous European or Southeast Asian residents have never connected with American culture before and when they see cowboys hats, they are interested in taking a picture of it and sharing their discovery across the Internet for their friends (and unsuspecting TAR trackers :lol:) to see.Why are all the shots people get in their countries are of the cowboys? Most of the people in those countries don't watch TAR and don't know the teams, don't know who has been photographed elsewhere, and probably don't care who you like and don't like.
I'm happy to see ANY pictures. We usually have multiple legs each season where we're not figuring it out until the previews come up during the season. We've been pretty lucky so far for TAR 24.

That green jacket being worn by the dark haired man, being interviewed at the Plaza de Espana, is the same green jacket Brendon had on at the Taiwan Taoyuan Int'l Airport (TPE) - see page 2 of the Live Sightings page. It is definitely Brendon and Rachel, whether the interview is a decoy, they were eliminated today or are still racing...not clear. But when you look at the teams we know are racing we don't even have that many dark haired males to begin with.

If Seville IS indeed Leg 10, then that means Leg 4 AND Leg 6 were the NELs of the season. That means we probably have a missing NEL after Leg 7. I think there was an F9 or even F10 NEL in this case. I know it's very unlikely, but I think Leg 2 was an NEL and M/M just weren't seen in leg 3 i.e eliminated. Idk though just speculating :P

i just said that based on the number of viewers in US.. Bandung leg 2 apparently gained more viewers than any episodes of TAR21 and TAR22 (and TAR20 except for the premiere)
i haven't do any surveys though :cmas22
i think the US audiences generally don't really have problem with that.. but again, that's just what i think..

I have to agree with Belle Book. I'd love to see Dave and Connor win, and I loved the Country Signers and the Afghanimals grew on me as Season 23 progressed.

Country Singers,Yet horrible racers making the final 3 probably being NEL TWO TIMES with Team Cancer winning and with a horrible route like that...I can believe I will have to listen to Dave & Connor's cancer talking for the entire race.NEL two times plus an Express Pass.
But,first,I have to congratulate CBS on her effort to make this All-Stars the worst season of all-time...I think they had done it perfectly.
I think (hope) what happened was the Cowboys won the first leg and received the 2 express passes. They gave one to Caroline & Jennifer, a team they considered weak, during the next leg. Maybe during the task the country singers were having trouble with.
Legs pass by and Carolin & Jennifer avoid elimination several times, even coming last in a non-elimination leg. Then in Leg 10 Seville (maybe), Caroline & Jennifer and Jet & Cord were in last. A U-Turn appeared and the country singers got there first, U-Turning the team that helped them in the early race. Then Jet & Cord started whining that they kept being U-Turned because the other teams see them as a threat, and not because of the obvious fact that they are the only team behind the team U-Turning them :cmas11
The country singers gets second to last and the cowboys checks in last, and hopefully it's an elimination leg! Caroline & Jennifer then outsmarted another team to get into the finale, but their luck ran dry during the final memory challenge, kicking them down to third :cmas4
I hope Leo & Jamal, Dave & Connor, Caroline & Jennifer, or Brendon & Rachel won this time (basing my judgement on the teams during their initial seasons).
CaroJen being the potential BQs <3Ewe. Dustin & Kandice would own the Country Girls. Better competitors, better Racers, better personalities, all around more awesome than Caroline & Jen could ever hope to be. Even if they are the reason the Cowboys eventually get eliminated. :cmas26

The Chippendales most likely received the invitation back for the "all-stars" season, but declined.

They give you a team to root against, and they are entertaining, because you had to formulate an opinion on them, and to do that, they have to be entertaining. Like I said before, I can accept these teams being labeled "All-Stars" seeing as they were all in the Top 5 of their original seasons, (except JJ and DC, who would have been a certain lock on their F3 had they not encountered their misfortunes)Yeah I agree! Two of my favourite MM teams right there. Goats were one of my favourite winners ever, and Dave & Connor would've walked through TAR22 :res:
And don't forget the mention of cancer in every other word (I am exaggerating, but you get the point). If the producers didn't push that angle down our throats then I'd like to think they would be better liked.
As for NaNa they were robbed. In France a producer issue made them have to drive back? (iirc) so that allowed the ggf's to check in in that time.
I also don't understand how a team was 'robbed' during a leg. I mean it's their fault they got eliminated.

If it's not in the rule book it's not cheating in my opinion. I don't remember the clue mentioning in the surf board task that you couldn't look at other teams' boards, whereas it mentioned in Nicole's case that they couldn't enter the judging zone, which she did. In both cases I don't care since I liked both teams.
Just to add my two cents, I agree with SteKay here, because if I remember rightly, when Chuck & Wynona checked in with the wrong board, Mona & Beth were standing at the pitstop, and Phil asked them something like "You not gonna give them the answer?".
If Connor looking at Winnies board is "cheating", then by all means Mona & Beth giving Chuck & Wynona the answer is just as bad, and in no way would have been suggested by Phil, himself.

With that in mind, I guess it would be a miracle if they cast 11 teams, none of which have any experience being in front of a camera. The past few seasons always have them.
And even though I followed the spoilers, I'll still root for Brendon & Rachel, Joey & Meghan, and Caroline & Jennifer. I hope the country singers become less bubbly and more conniving, like Nicky & Kim. :)

I agree with peach. It was David and Mary, Margie and Luke, Gary and Mallory, Mark and Bopper's first season that brought them close to our hearts... and honestly if they took 11 Seasons to do Allstars 1, I'll rather they take that long again to invite back some solid teams.
Plus, I don't get Jessica and John's inclusion in the cast. Can y'all see how many people just DON'T CARE about their existence?
I know they can't always get back the most solid teams such as Chippendales... but can they at least justify their Allstars title? I'll rather have Art and JJ than Jessica and John on the show, even though I really hated Art and JJ.. but at least they fit the whole criteria of being an Allstars team. A team that's at least memorable, and whom we have followed through with an entire season; and not just a team who got eliminated with the EP due to their OWN MISTAKE and then getting another chance in an Allstars season? Just a horrible casting this season and honestly, I really really am not looking forward to the show at all. I know ultimately I'll watch it and still be excited weekly, but for now, am looking forward to Survivor more.

Ugh, I'm not gonna say anything new that hasn't already been said on this board, but I just don't get how those stupid (they totally are, sorry for being offensive) commenters can not see that
a) Mark could have left his bag like some past racers (Steve & Allie TAR16) did;
b) other teams would obviously be willing to help Mark if he had no clothes or sth;
c) Mark & Mallory checked in only ~10mins after YouTube, so the bag incident didn't really doom them, the detour did (WHICH IS STILL SEEN AS A FAULT OF MALLORY'S :crazy:);
d) Mark refused to hussle even when he had got his bag back and Mallory tried running to the detour to catch up. And that was for literally.no.reason.
And to clear it all out, yeah, I was also (and still am!!) a great supporter of Mopper, though not a die hard fan. But my patience has seriously run out with these comments..

She was awfully defensive, I think she would have insisted on going back for her backpack despite what she said.Well, at first I also thought so, but Mallory mentioned in a couple of interviews that when she raced with her dad, they had already decided that a lost backpack would be left behind in case that ever happened, so they could race on. And that was also why Gary & Mallory always kept all of their necessary stuff (medicine, passports etc.) in one backpack, so they would have less of a chance to lose those.

That's not necessarily true - the Detour could be in Wales too with only the Anfield ARI and the Pit Stop in England
So 8 countries and 3 continents. The last season to visit only 8 countries was TAR 13 but that only had 11 legs yet they managed to go 5 continents and the only other season to visit only 8 countries was TAR 2 but they also visited 5 continents and it was only the season season so I can excuse that and yet it is the third longest route in TAR history at 52,000 miles.
Even thought this season isn't over yet I can easily say the rankings of All Stars seasons would be

I get your point, and would like to see more title-worthy quotes for the rest of the season.
I gotta say that the racers are the ones who mostly contributed to the interesting episode titles. With a cast like this, where they chose uninteresting teams like John and Jessica and Dave and Connor over more viable teams... you really can't expect much. (And the more interesting teams being eliminated first, NaNa, Mallory, Youtube etc.. who are always quote worthy)
In both seasons they are on, Dave and Connor contributed to ZERO titles so far. That's how interesting they are.
Now look at Oswald and Danny, who gave a total of six on their 2 seasons, Charla and Mirna, who gave five... and even Flight Time contributed to three titles just this season alone!
I would think that the producers tried their best to pick the title most representative of the episode. But you can't deny the fact that these uninteresting teams also contributed to the lack of uninteresting episode titles too. Even "The Worst Day to Have a Bad Day" sounded inappropriate for a season first episode as compared to "Back in the Saddle", clearly meaning that it's a new race around the world?
