No TAR April 7 due to the Country Music Awards airing live!
-
For today, the Northern Trust Golf Tournament is on CBS. After 16 holes, 2 golfers are tied for the lead and there is a pack 1 stroke behind. The chances of a playoff are pretty good. The scheduled completion time is 630pm with a half hour for CBS News, but that could well be obliterated by the playoff. If it goes past 7pm, then 60 Minutes and rest of the CBS Sunday lineup will be delayed.
-
TAR22 shouldn't be delayed that much compared to last season. PGA Golf might delay it depending on whatever (the competition, playoff, etc). IIRC, TAR20 was delayed last year due to golf (in addition to the Masters); probably the same tourney that's happening now (Northern Trust).
I think for the most part, we'll be alright. The only delays that are pretty much definite will be due to the Regional Final and the Masters (before and after the annual one-week Sunday TAR off-day, respectively). TAR on 3/24 may or may get delayed, based on whether basketball is on CBS, TBS, TNT, or TruTV for its late game.
-
Yep, this is the same tourney that pushed things back last year (which results in the best ratings for TAR20)
-
Beljan and Merrick finished in a tie after 72 holes. The playoff will start in about 5 minutes. Who knows when it will finish.
-
Beljan and Merrick tied the first playoff hole, but CBS is switching coverage to the Golf Channel! :hoot: Delay will be about 5 minutes.
-
Playoff continues. This went to the Golf Channel one minute ago. 60 Minutes has started at 706pm.
-
My faith in CBS is 100% restored <333333333333333 No more waiting up until 3am to watch the show! :D
-
TAR22 premiere to air at 8:04 p.m. ET/7:04 p.m. ET. Adjust your DVR's accordingly.
-
Looking ahead a few hours, CBS has 2 basketball games back-to-back with a projected finish of 6pm. With a buffer of 1 hour (CBS local and world news), there should be no problem for East Coast viewers to start 60 Minutes at 7pm tonight.
-
And do note that CTV will be airing TAR one HOUR early night due to the Oscars!
-
Today CBS has back-to-back basketball games from 2pm to 6pm, then local news and world news. I consider it virtually certain that 60 Minutes will start on time at 7pm EST.
-
Please be aware that this week the US will be moving their clocks forward ONE HOUR on Sunday!!
That means that if you are outside the US you need to be here ONE HOUR EARLIER THAN LAST WEEK, as what was 8PM will now be 9PM!
Don't miss the show!
-
Peach,
"what used to be 8pm is now 9pm." Spring forward, fall back means that the clock goes forward one hour on March 10, which relative to overseas time zones means that Amazing Race viewing happens one hour earlier.

Yes that is right. But for US, which is what I wrote, what was 8 will be 9. Which means everyone watching our live thread needs to come one hour earlier than they did the week before.

And to take another, completely hypothetical of course, example. If you are flying from Europe to the US on a flight which normally lands at 18.05 then this flight will land on 19.05 on Sunday. This time is of course calculated to give you a glimmer of hope of making it to your hotel room to the start of TAR at 20.00, but late enough so that realistically your chances are next to none.
And once Europe also switches to DST the flight will again arrive at 18.05.

Tonight 60 Minutes and the entire CBS lineup should be on time as the afternoon slots are for basketball games. The same should be true for next Sunday, the last before the NCAA Tournament begins. Once it's underway, we could see some delays on Sunday March 24 and Sunday March 31. The final 4 will not impact CBS Sunday night schedules on April 7 as it is on April 6 and 8.

http://tvline.com/2013/03/11/cbs-season-finale-dates-ncis-big-bang-theory-good-wife/#more-415219
So, the next question is whether that will be the last two legs or a full two hours for the final leg. Just looking at Dom's timeline and counting the Sundays until May 5th, it looks to me like a full 2 hours for the final leg! :yess:
-
Unfortunately, that isn't the case
March 17 - Episode 5/Leg 5
March 24 - Episode 6/Leg 6
March 31 - Episode 7/Leg 7
April 7 - No TAR due to some award ceremony
April 14 - Episode 8/Leg 8
April 21 - Episode 9/Leg 9
April 28 - Episode 10/Leg 10
May 5 - Episode 11/Leg 11 & 12
-
Good thing too! While I enjoyed the one time they had a long leg in the finale, and the 4 seasons where there was a NEL inside those 2-hour finales, having the final Philimination in the final episode helps add to an exciting finish to a season.

Oops! I didn't realize there was an awards show on April 7th. I agree, it does look like the usual 2 legs in the final 2 hour finale.

The Futon Critic lists episode 11 and 12 as being on May 5th. It's the recent trend of having the final two episodes/legs on the finale night. Works for me, and most people have tended to like it rather than having just one hour.

No TAR April 7 due to the Country Music Awards airing live!
-
So basically it's like 30 minutes again, right? The change of time really confuses me. :iok
-
that's right!

CBS has sent out an advance eye-lert this afternoon:
CBS Sports live coverage of NCAA Basketball on Sunday will likely delay start times for 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, The Good Wife and The Mentalist.
If so, you will receive a message on Sunday with exact details of revised start times.
Consider yourselves warned!
-
The NCAA Sunday later game for the New York metro area (and I bet for much of the nation) is North Carolina vs. Kansas, with tipoff scheduled for 515pm pm. That means we could expect about a 715pm start time for 60 Minutes. However, these things could delay it:
1. an overtime for the prior CBS game at 245pm (Indiana vs. Temple)
2. overtime for North Carolina vs. Kansas
3. a CBS decision to also televise the ending of another game (note- this is unlikely to occur since the only other game in progress then will be Minnesota vs. Florida on TNT)
-
apskip,
A delay in the Indiana/Temple game will not cause a delay for the North Carolina/Kansas game because they are being held in different arenas. (Indiana/Temple is in Dayton, UNC/Kansas is in Kansas City)
Therefore, the only things that will delay 60 minutes are scenarios 2 or 3 you had listed. Scenario 1 will not cause a delay in the CBS lineup.
-
The fact that the games are being held in different arenas does not mean that CBS won't get a delayed start from the NCAA for the later game it will be broadcasting.
I've got a potential conflict because my alma mater (Miami)'s game will be on TNT with a start of no earlier than 7:40 CDT, depending on how long the earlier game (with Florida) that is being played in the same arena. I have no idea how I'm going to handle the overlap as a viewer. I've already programmed my DVR to record a later broadcast of another show that airs a little later Sunday night on cable; fortunately that show is repeated three times on Sunday night.
-

JImmer25,
Just look at the TV Guide in your newspaper tomorrow (I got my information there in today's SPORTS section). You will see that CBS is televising those two games in that order. They pick the best games available and leave the rest to TRUTV, TBS and TNT. However, for those time frames I cited, there are NO OTHER NCAA MEN'S GAMES being played anywhere! Although there is also a 1215pm game being telecast on CBS and there is the 610pm game I cited on TNT and a 710pm game on TBS, none of those competes at 245pm and 515pm.
-
Not wishing to wait for the CBS Eye-Alert s some of you do, I swill continue my policy of predicting the time that 60 Minutes will start. The New Carolina vs. Kansas NCAA Men's basketball game tipped at 526pm, 11 minutes later than planned. My guess is that it will finish around 725pm if there is no OT.
-
615pm, and the game is 2 mins away from halftime. my guess is halftime = 619pm, end of game = 720pm-730pm
-
first half over, so 2nd half starts at 637pm
-
Game over, 736pm. i'll update when 60 mins starts
-
The Kansas/North Carolina game was over at 736 pm. 60 Minutes should start by 745 pm after CBS takes up airtime with summaries of all today's games like they did at the half
.
-
60 Minutes actually started at 746 pm.
-
60 mins starts now 746pm tar now 846pm
-
Wow, I'm so thankful for this delay, I overslept the usual start time. :P

CBS Alert:
TAR will LIKELY be delayed Sunday due to NCAA Basketball.
-
On Easter Sunday tomorrow we get a 10 minute earlier schedule for the tipoff of Duke vs. Louisville at 505pm. It is possible that game could end in time for a 7pm 60 Minutes start, but the same 3 factors could delay it:
1. previous game (Michigan vs. Florida at 220pm finishes late
2. Duke vs. Louisville goes OT
3. Duke vs. Louisville in regulation goes late
-
Looking like a delay??
-
Yes. at 6:53 pm ET, there's over 11 minutes left on the game clock, and with the 9 minute delay caused by a ugly broken leg injury to one of the Louisville players in the first half, that all but guaranteed a delay tonight.
-
There will be a delay. We will have to wait for the CBS tweet for the start time of TAR. One of the Louisville players landed wrong and has compound fracture of tibia. Pretty long injury timeout. There is about 10 minutes of clock time left in game with Louisville ahead by 13.
-
Even though it will take a miracle at this point foe Duke to win, both teams are using their timeouts and penalty free throws (both of which stop the game clock), we're probably not go to see 60 Minutes start until at least 35 after the hour. (There's also TV timeouts which CBS gets for commercials.)
-
Since it's postseason, CBS will probably go back to New York for studio coverage. That way, they'll start at an even 7:40 or 7:45 with 60 Minutes. Then TAR will go at 8:40 to 8:45. Sucks that the one week there's no sporting event, the show is pre-empted. But back 4/21 it'll be back to normal.
-
But back 4/21 4/14 it'll be back to normal.
-
But back 4/21 4/14 it'll be back to normal.
4/14 is the Masters......TAR will be back to normal on 4/21
60 Minutes started at :41 after the hour here......
-
Peach, the Masters are on 4/14, IIRC. (Rox beat me to it!)
Meanwhile according to my computer time, 60 Minutes started at 41 after the hour.
-
The masters may delay us, but won't cancel us like the CMA!
-
#CBSEyeAlert due to live #NCAA basketball Sunday new start time for #AmazingRace is 8:41East/7:41Central Zones ONLY

CBS EyeAlert stated that TAR will start 8:40 ET
-
CBS has just sent out an Advance Eye-lert that there may be a delayed start time Sunday for the prime time lineup due to live coverage of the Masters Golf Tournament.
At least the Augusta Golf Course has finally admitted 2 female members (including one-time former Secretary of State Condenezza Rice) so there won't be any protests to slow things down. :)
-
Finally no delays!!! :hrt: :hrt:
-
Finally no delays!!! :hrt: :hrt:
That is not what I said. CBS only send those out on Friday when the chance exists because of the nature of live sports programming. (And IIRC, the Masters did produce a more-than-an-hour delay in a recent year that set TAR back by more than an hour.)
-
The schedule for today's final round is that it's 2-somes and the last one tees at 240pm, which I think is 20 minutes later than some prior years.
-
The Masters final 2-some is now on hole #14. there are 5 holes to play, so if no sudden death OT then it will be about 7pm before the holes are finished. There are 4 golfers within two strokes of each other, so OT is likely.
With the Butler Cabin B.S. we are looking at 720pm as the likely earliest start for 60 Minutes.
-
Three way tie for first place. It'll be a while tonight. Though in my area, they pushed the schedule back, similar to what they've done during the CBS NFL double-headers.
-
At 7pm Angel Cabrera and Adam Scott both had magnificent birdies on the 18th hole. For a tie. They will start a sudden death playoff around 710pm and finish who knows when.
-
FTW, they'll have the post-game green jacket ceremony, so that should push everything back even further (to around 7:40 or 7:45)
-
So, no episode in a long while? Then going to bed. THANKS A LOT for informing, guys!
-
The playoff is over at 738 pm with Adam Scott the winner on the 2nd playoff hole. With another 20 minutes for Butler Cabin B.S., that puts the start of 60 Minutes at about 758 pm.
-
60 Minutes started at 757 pm.

Is there any delay today? I am finishing an essay and *may* stay up to see the episode, depending on the time it airs. Thanks a lot.

I think it's on time, there is no Tweet from CBS or The Amazing about having a delay and 60 minutes is on.
