China bought the rights to Gossip Girl so right now I’m shooting that. I just finished The Amazing Race China, our third season. We’re getting ready for Season Four. The Amazing Race Asia, I get asked all the time – I really do hope it comes back but still no word on it yet.

Rumor says the show has been renewed already, but it won't shoot until next year.

Sounds like what has happened on the Australian version this year.

China Rush 4 won't film until the autumn of 2014 (at least).

I'm sorry to inform everybody here of the news that The Amazing Race: China Rush has been canceled by ICS/Dragon TV.

But Shenzhen TV has bought the show and will produce a whole new season of The Amazing Race Chinese version.

News so far:
Show content
1) It'll be a celebrity version.
2) It won't air until September at least.
3) The time slot is 0915pm, Sunday.
4) There're probably a lot of legs in which contestants have to drive by themselves, in view of the fact that the sponsor this time will be Infiniti.
5) Contestants will travel abroad. We're expecting five continents.

Please don't expect too high for Shenzhen TV's version. As far as I know they'll probably make it look like a Korean show "Where's Dad" which focuses much more on relationships between the duo than on the competition itself--as it said, to reflect the quality of the duo themselves that they did not realize before they participate.

Here are the things I know:
1. New TAR China Season 1 will travel at least 4 countries, 6 for the most(including China);
2. It will be a celebrity edition;
3. Probably with a new host, no more Allan Wu;
4. The fewest teams ever in any version of TAR;
5. 10 Episodes, 90 minutes each(including ads);
6. Shenzhen production will spent a great deal of money to invite TAR consultants and use BVM's production sources to be as good as USA & AUS version;
7. The productions still have not got TAR production bible.

    So I'm still worried about they will ruin the show, of course, they will.

That's a shame because China Rush wasn't broken.

I loved the way they focused so much on the culture and the people of China instead of visiting other countries, this was absolutely fine in my eyes, each episode gave people something new to see and learn even. The mix Chinese/English teams competing was also a unique thing and gave people a team to root for.

I see no reason why TAR China Rush and TAR China couldn't have existed as separate entities, heck you could make a franchise out of the Rush thing. I wouldn't mind a TAR US Rush or a TAR Singapore Rush or a TAR Malaysia Rush etc.

Singapore Rush? But Singapore is one of the smallest countries in the world. It would be rather anti-climatic.

It's the temporary name. It might change by the time it airs.

I'm excited, yet nervous.
I loved China Rush, especially the rural areas that I never heard of before and I got to see for the first time (Ningbo, Mogan shan, etc.)
Hopefully, TARChina will be decent.

They will flow FOOTBALL in Central Park. Most of challenges are similar to US, AUS version.

The production crew do not respect the original version, they will film each country with 2 legs separately and back to China for weeks. And they will film another 2 legs (start from China again) in another 4-5 days.

The new season is not welcome in most indigenous TAR fans in China, but it seems to have brought in a bunch of fans who merely root for a certain star. :groan:
