Title: TAR NORWAY 2 *Sightings, Spoilers, Discussion*
Post by: Plaidmoon on November 17, 2012, 08:26:08 PM
A new mystery sighting today! It's from Oslo, Norway and with TAR 22 in Tahiti, I don't think this is TAR 22. My best guess is that it could be TAR Norway 2, but I haven't heard a word about that happening. Here's the tweets and picture I've found. The picture shows  a team being interviewed, probably at the pit stop in a plaza in downtown Oslo. There is another team in the background next to the statue. The location can probably be figured out by someone familiar with Oslo.

The start of TAR : Ukraine?

I'd expect TAR Ukraine to start in the Ukraine, but it certainly could be a leg of TAR Ukraine! Good thought. I'd kind of forgotten about them.

I was thinking the host was too short to be Freddy Dos Santos of TAR Norway, but I'm not sure how tall he is.

Here's a Google translation of the above story:

Cecilia and Camilla ready for "The Amazing Race Norway

Next year is finally ready for a new season of "The Amazing Race Norway" - the program in which ten Norwegian couples compete in a frantic race around the world. Record number of participants have signed up, and today we can finally reveal who gets to participate in the race.

See a complete list of next season's participants further down in the article!

According to the program editor Torkil G. Auran in TV 2 will output an even greater push participants to the extreme this season.

- We will be traveling both high and low, new known and unknown destinations. Participants will be facing serious physical and mental challenges. They really should get familiar on its borders, he has previously stated.
Afraid of appearing stupid

Bærum girlfriends Cecilie Kreutz (41) and Connie Smith (43) are two of the participants who will soon embark on what could be their life's journey. They are articulate girls who are not afraid to say what they mean. But up in all the talk they are afraid of how others perceive them.

- I am afraid of appearing stupid, says Cecilie before she tells us more about how she can be when she is on holiday.

- My problem is that I have traveled a lot in the past few years, but then, I have erected in five star hotels, and I have not had so many challenges on another trip if I arrive and the room did not have the view I want or that the bed not quite soft enough, I'm down, jaws, and I will have it perfect, says 41-year-old honest to the website of TV2

She also acknowledges that she can be a bit brutal in the turns.

- I think some of the challenge is that I can run over people unless I really see it myself, for when I am unsure, I will be terribly arrogant and can stand on mine, and I see it all by himself, said Kreutz.
Testosteronduo

Oliver Øvstetun Allan Wetrhus (42) and Oliver Øvstetun (26) is one of bærum women competing teams. They are buddies who first became known when they started playing football together. Øvstetun tells tv2.no that he would be perceived as unbeatable.

- I have the image that everything should be possible to do, no one will beat me.

26-year-old puts trust in his older partner when it comes to not boil over.

- The challenge is to stay calm, because I have a huge testosterone and adrenaline that must get out. We will probably go on a few blisters when we are not thinking enough about us well when we read the clue. I'm very stressed, so it's Allan must take responsibility for ensuring that we remain calm, he said.

See the list of participants are included in "The Amazing Race Norway" below!

Here's another story announcing TAR Norway 2 and it's teams:

http://www.dagbladet.no/2012/11/20/kultur/amazing_race/freddy_dos_santos/reality/tv2/24451887/ (http://www.dagbladet.no/2012/11/20/kultur/amazing_race/freddy_dos_santos/reality/tv2/24451887/)

The Google Translation:

Freddy dos Santos ready for another round of "Amazing Race"

Pictured with the former Våler Anga player are Lillestrøm supporters Milorad and Dario Dunderovic.

OUT IN THE WORLD: Today adds Milorad and Dario Dunderovic nine other 'Amazing Race' couple and producer Freddy dos Santos embarks on a journey that takes them around the world. - We hope finals, says father and son - but since they are Lillestrøm supporters they threaten the former Vålerenga player with penalty. Photo: Green Berg

They fled from the war in the Balkans 20 years ago. Father and son Milorad (59) and Dario Dunderovic (22) was second pass in seven years.

Nåer they are ready to take up the slack.

Passport in place
- We love to travel. Would rather spend money on it than on cars, clothing and renovation of the kitchen, says Milorad Dunderovic.

They came as refugees from Sarajevo in 1992, and it would be seven years before the Norwegian government gave the family citizenship and passport.

- We are grateful that we came to Norway. We were well received and is well integrated. We know the series well from the Norwegian and American television. Throughout the 90's we were not sure and could not travel - and we love it, says Father Dunderovic.

Out in the world

Today kicked off the second edition of the "Amazing Race" on TV2. Ten pairs with different relationships to compete against each other. They are out in the world, but where they do not know. Along the way they solve problems and move forward - and with minimal money.

The recordings will be going for nearly four weeks, and during a fall and a couple of. The winner can expect one million prize and any travel experiences richer.

- We disagree on a lot, but there are two things we agree on when it comes to television. We are interested in football and love the "Amazing Race." Of the thousands who signed up, we have been pulled out. We aim to get to the final, says Dario Dunderovic.

Fled from the war

Lille Dario was two years old when he came to Norway in 1992. Mora's Bosnian Muslim while her father is Bosnian Serb. They had to flee. Such "mixed marriages" had nothing in the Balkans to do then.

- We chose love over nationalism. I'd rather not talk about the war. It was awful and we had to go, says Milorad Dunderovic.

The family with Dario and big brothers of nine and twelve years ended on Trandum reception center, then to the west countryside Hareid, later in Oslo - and now the family base in Nittedal.

LSK vs. VIF
Milorad Dario holds an MBA and working in a security company. But now it is effecting the tv program that has the focus. TV2 display the program in the spring - and with football charmer and Vaal? Meadow-boy Freddy dos Santos as a presenter.

- These two guys here are Lillestrøm patriots located in other words, already lagging, the former football player jokingly. He has received contend with the participants in the weekend.

- We have had tests and become familiar with each other. It's a good bunch, and competitive nature has already turned into.

Apparently TAR Norway is underway as there are several tweets with sightings in and around Oslo. This explains the sighting with a picture I found the other day from Oslo. They were probably doing some pre race footage, or perhaps the first leg was in Oslo and the tweets below are the start of the second leg.

TAR 22 may go to South Africa, but I don't believe this tweet is meaningful for us. Why would a guy be running around with envelopes in South Africa if the teams haven't even left Vietnam yet?

There are a lot of local Amazing Race events in South Africa. I see them all the time on Twitter, so I'm not surprised we're seeing some tweets about them now.

This is probably TAR Norge, since the San Esteban commune is in the same region as Valparaiso and Viña, but it is located close to the Andes.

So they are racing in the Aconcagua valley. Portillo is an important ski resort here, but we are in Spring now and i doubt there is any snow...

And the order of the locations is Santiago -> Valparaiso -> Valle de Aconcagua / Portillo ???

Back on November 26th, I found this tweet from Windhoek, Namibia and posted it in the TAR 22 sightings even though TAR 22 was in Botswana and not Namibia.

Here's another possible sighting, this time next door to Botswana in Windhoek, Namibia.

Simasiku Matengu ‏@Simplysiku
You know Kapana has made it big when you trying to dip in the spice and get bumped by contestants in the Amazing Race.
11:12 PM Pacific Standard Time - 25 Nov 12
About 9 hours ago

Kapana is grilled meat served with a tomato, onion, chili and spice sauce and fried bread called fat cakes. It is popular and sold by street vendors in Namibia.

It seems a bit early for TAR to have gone from Botswana to Namibia, but it is possible. It could also be that TAR Norway in one of the sightings from the last 2 days and TAR 22 is in the other one. At this point, there's no clues as to which is which. My attempts to contact people have been ignored so far.

Now I've found a news story from Namibia that makes it all clear:

http://www.confidente.com.na/2012/11/29/norwegian-version-of-reality-show-shot-in-namibia/ (http://www.confidente.com.na/2012/11/29/norwegian-version-of-reality-show-shot-in-namibia/)

Norwegian version of reality show shot in Namibia
 by admin on Nov 29, 2012 • 12:22

A contingent of 50 Norwegian film crew and the participants in the acclaimed television reality show, The Amazing Race, last week quietly slipped into the country to secretly shoot on location two episodes of the Norwegian version of the popular internationally acclaimed television show.

The nineteenth series of the American version of the Amazing Race is currently nightly screened on DSTV.

In an exclusive interview, the executive producer of the second Norwegian series titled The Amazing Race Norge, Rune Biseth-M of Rubicon TV in Oslo, said the program was very popular in Norway.

“The first series for which we bought the franchise and rights from Disney in America had 10 percent of my country’s population involved as viewers. This time around with an expanded selection of countries such as South Africa and Namibia included it is my hope that the television ratings will increase up to 15 percent,” Biseth-M said.

The two episodes shot on location in Namibia cost an estimated N$2 million dollars from which a number of local film technicians benefitted.

“In view of the fact that the series is shot in the Norwegian language and the fact the series is not scripted, we had to bring a large number of camera persons and sound technicians to South Africa and Namibia, that was selected for its geographical situation close to Cape Town where the two South African episodes were shot on location,” he said.

According to the executive producer, the first Norwegian series was primarily featured greenery and coastal landscapes.

“For diversity I wanted to bring in the Namibian desert feeling into the program. That is why we shot one of the two episodes on a rented train that took us to Ebony train siding from where the program took us to Spitzkoppe in the Namib Desert, also to the Moon Landscape deep into the desert. It took us to a village and into the mountains in that area and we also met up with a wonderful troupe of Bushmen (San) from the east of Namibia,” he said.

The second episode was shot in Katutura at the former Single Men’s Quarters and at Okapuka Game Lodge outside the capital for wild life inclusion.

On Monday everybody had a rest day staying at the Windhoek Casino and Resort before flying off in the early hours of Tuesday morning to the next destination in the program.

The Namibian and South African episodes will be screened in Norway sometime next year.

Here's a couple of blog sightings of TAR Norway in Chile:

From Santiago:

We were at first very surprised by all the smog in Santiago, it even covers the Andes most days, which is sad. While we were there we saw the amazing race, so look for us on any upcoming episodes because our tour guide helped them find their way. We found great restaurants, fun streets, spectacular views, and overall loved the city and its bohemian vibe. We both agreed we would definitely go back, if only for the cheap market where we spent hours looking through hundreds of stalls all selling traditional Chilean goods manufactured in China.

The sighting from Portillo is from an extra on the show. There wasn't much detail, but there was a hint there there may be a mustache related aspect to the men participating in the task.

So we have potentially 7 legs? (2 Namibia, 2 South Africa and 3 Chile)

I'm not sure if there were 2 legs or 3 in Chile. Other than that, I think you're right.

I just can't figure where (in Argentina) is she from. The obvious choice is Argentina comming after Chile (old TAR formula  :cmas5), then if this was yesterday that would make two legs in Argentina (at least).

So if the route could be Chile -> Argentina (Buenos Aires) -> Buenos Aires Province -> Brazil, that is if Argentina only got 2 legs. They should be headed to Buenos Aires International Airport to Brazil. And i would expect 2 legs in Brazil too.

I guess is Chile -> Buenos Aires province -> Buenos Aires city -> Brazil.  They other twitter user was clear about:  they were in Uribelarrea and then they go to Buenos Aires and then Brazil.

But if he (or she, i don't remember sorry) KNEW they were going to Brazil AFTER Buenos Aires for me it would make more sense that they were going to Buenos Aires  to get a flight to Brazil. UNLESS production is not all that carefuln and they just like to give away route info. That could be the case  :cmas5

I never said that.  The picture in the previous post is clear.  They were in Buenos Aires city yesterday night. Please read again this tweet:

Asked her via Twitter, and this is her answer:

Yelo Lucentini ‏@Yeloolucentini

@strainosaleij Personalmente no los vi, lo vi en las noticias. Ya pasaron por ahi, ahora van a buenos aires y después brasil

I didn't saw them in person, but I saw it in the news.  They're already been here, now they're going to Buenos Aires and Brasil later.

BTW, you can fly to Brazil from both EZE (Ezeiza) and AEP (Aeroparque), so teams don't need to cross to the province of Buenos Aires to travel to Brazil.

I only hope that teams were able to travel to Brazil, despite the huge storm in the Buenos Aires area that started early morning today and caused waterloggins in a lot of places in the city and its surroundings.

They should be.  But as I posted, yesterday there was a huge storm here that complicates the flight issues both at EZE and AEP - even I didn't hear anything about cancelled flights, only posponed ones -.  Let's hope they are right on schedule.

The teams are in Iguazú Falls!  Found this on FB

Eric Scouten share a photo.
So this was a stage in the Norwegian edition of Amazing Race. Didn't get to see any of the teams arrive, though. Two had already arrived.

I found this image that got me suspicious of a sighting in Portugal,

I can only think 3 possibilities :

1. TAR Norway-2 already headed back to europe (which for me it makes sense because they've spent many legs in africa and south america) so they didn't circulate the globe this season,

 or

2. TAR Ukraine, as the only TAR left having a filming progress besides TAR Norway2, and we really have a very limited information about this version after they spotted in Singapore..

 or

3. It's just a random mark painted on the rocks there...  :cmaslol

But here's what got me suspicious is that the fact and the way they painted the cross on that rock, somehow represent a route-marker, where the combination of the colors are yellow-red-yellow... And if you pay a bit more attention to it, the yellow line is somehow separated and the red line is going straight, so that could also (possibly) means a combination of route-marker sign.. (as we know that nowadays the production got more creative with this kinda a thing)

So yeah, have your say guys...

I like the idea of the first task in a new country having different difficulties depending on how well you did in the previous country - it seems like a much fairer version of the Latin American version's "no flight bunching" format (and better TV to boot) - but this season really isn't grabbing me, and I can't figure out why.

It's quit a while since those post I quote were posted, but I hope you don't mind!

Apparently TAR Norway is underway as there are several tweets with sightings in and around Oslo. This explains the sighting with a picture I found the other day from Oslo. They were probably doing some pre race footage, or perhaps the first leg was in Oslo and the tweets below are the start of the second leg.
Yep, they were doing a "test-race" - so both the participants and the crew could practice in advance.

Gardermoen airport is the airport for Oslo. I'm not sure what the National is, probably a museum?
Nationaltheatret is, as the name says, the National Theatre of Norway, but it's also the name of the second largest train station in Norway as well as one of the largest Metro stations of Oslo, but the participants were travelling with Flytoget (the Airport Express Train) to Oslo Airport Gardermoen.

Promos!

My God, the Wikipedia page for this season is HORRIBLY incomplete. I know I might not get much help here, but if anyone can fill in the tasks, locations or penalties (if there are any) for the later legs, please do so.

(Yes, Peach, I know about the RFF wiki. Once the Wikipedia's updated, I'll get to work on our wiki)

One of the biggest questions I have is how there was an Intersection on Leg 8 when there were five teams racing on Leg 8. Was it a TAR Latin America 2-style Intersection?

that's because it's too difficult to get the infos from a non-English speaking countries like Norway unlike in the US version, Asia, Australia and Phil. version.

Yes, it was like the TARLA2-Intersection.

The task was the same as the gaucho-roadblock from TAR7 Leg 4 (without the 40 seconds time limit)

The final losing team had to do the task one more time before they got the clue, unlike in the TARLA2, where the final-losing team had to wait in 15 minutes before they got their next clue.

You seem knowledgeable about what took place on the race. Did you see the whole second season? If so, do you think you could lend a hand with the Amazing Race Norge 2 Wikipedia page? Even the littlest bit helps out.

Also, was the second Intersection the same as the first one? (Head 2 head)

Yes, I have seen the whole season. I can help you with the Wikipedia page.

Yes it was. They had to play a 10-minutes soccer match against each other. First they had to choose three players, so they played 5 vs 5. If it was tied (2-2 for example), then they had a penalty shootout (3 penalty each).
