That was...aggressively poor leg design. No bunching, a (meaningless) Yield and an Intersection combine to make it such that Russ/Tarryn had no chance and in fact, given the structure of the previous leg, the team that was last would probably have been eliminated.
The tasks were good though. :jam:
The Roadblock was pretty pointless, too. It was better than some of the other tasks for cultural relevance purposes, but it was not difficult and had no skill involved, preventing any chance for teams to gain or lose significant periods of time.Oh I disagree, I thought this was the best task of the episode. It was better than just walking through a room with them in it to receive the next clue.
The preview was confusing indeed. 'The biggest leg yet' - I wonder if they mean it's two episode leg maybe? i.e. keep on racing?
Otherwise the bits of Cuba make no sense to me because it would be a very brief stop over in Paris, indeed.
Didn't Grany also say they visited the US? ???
Nothing to say that the next ep can't ALL be in Cuba.
And what exactly IS the evidence for the UK?

I think the UK and US could be counted as "visited" but were probably just transit points.I think a similar thing happened with season 19, teams only transited through germany (well i think there was one clue box, but is take a train really a task?) and the netherlands but i believe both were required to complete the final map roadblock.
THIS haha I'm a closeted intersection fan
I wonder if it would be interesting to put a Yield during Intersection lol. So even the teammate of the yielded team will get yielded too. Lol :lol3:
I would not underestimate the potential brevity of a destination, in the first season both ho chi minh and the netherlands both only hosted one challenge before teams moved on by plane or train.

I haven't seen this episode yet, but when I was reading Coutzy's commentary, I was hoping that Sticky and Sam would arrive at the intersection about the same time as Michelle and Jo. Deciding to work together, they would leave Paul and Steve waiting for the fourth team. That would have been epic.

If only there is a team trailing the twins and the girls know it, it would be epic, leaving Paul and Steve waiting for the fourth team. It would appear like the twins Yielded them in a different way. The fourth team will be GraJo and still prefer to wait for another team than working with Paul/Steve. Though, never seen an intersection like that even with enemies teaming up.

Aside from the teams being overjoyed about flying to Paris, shots of teams in cabs with the Eiffel Tower in the background, and the Le Cordon Bleu spoiler, I agree with you.
It is not right to say the leg design screwed Ross and Tarryn or whoever the MFE team turned out to be, Ross and Tarryn screwed Ross and Tarryn when they quit the roadblock.THIS!
Despite these setbacks, Michelle and Jo managed to finish second, four minutes behind arch-rivals The Alpha Males.

Anyone else found it a bit weird that they stuck around so long to help the cops? It is a race after all.
After all their trouble during this leg, it appears Jo and Michelle weren't that far behind Paul and Steve...QuoteDespite these setbacks, Michelle and Jo managed to finish second, four minutes behind arch-rivals The Alpha Males.

This is my thought as well, they helped us, so help them, but within reason. I might help for 20-30 min, depending on the estimation of teams behind, but I would be up front and tell them I'll help, but for only this long.Anyone else found it a bit weird that they stuck around so long to help the cops? It is a race after all.
Well assuming they knew that two teams were four hours behind them, then they would've known that they were at no risk of being eliminated, and maybe that's why they stuck around? :duno:
Personally, if I was on the race and I knew that two teams were four hours behind, I would definitely stick around for a while and help them, but personally, I wouldn't have helped if it was an intense battle for elimination or something.
Nevertheless from above. This is the second time where an Intersection was poorly placed on TARAus (The other being the wood cutting). There was very minimal opportunity to make up time after the Intersection and your fate was easily in the hands of the taxi driver.
Is anyone able to identify the Turkish bath they used? There's no shot of the clue and it's not subtitled OR mentioned on Wikipedia.
Michelle and Jo in the shower... nice. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ I think let me just rewatch this moment again. )-** :conf:
Paul and Steve are first again, Ew. :res:
$5,000. Prize. LOL, that's 2x lesser. Great.
What a funny Roadblock! <3
Emilia doing the dance so gratefully. <3
Emilia and Lucy, 5th place. :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: FINAL SEVEN, I THINK?
Please let Ross and Tarryn survive. :(
Ross and Tarryn got a bad cab. IT'S OVER.
Poor father and daughter. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
This sucks. In the end a bad cab killed my poor father and daughter. The Intersection is a BAD PLACEMENT. How could they put it so late into the game?? Argh....
Worst leg I've watched so far.
I didn't like the leg design either. I don't like to see an intersection that late in the leg. The only task after the intersection was spinning for 5 minutes, so how in the world could a team with a 30-minute MFE penalty looming have any hope? I suppose, in theory, that if 3 teams or more had to quit the last task on the previous leg, the MFE team could have ended up not being in the final intersected grouping. In reality, they had no shot.
