Title: The Amazing Race "Book Club"
Post by: Jimmer on June 18, 2012, 10:17:46 AM
I came up with this idea where every few days (or any length of time) members of RFF watch an old episode of The Amazing Race on YouTube and discuss it in this thread. It should be something coordinated by a user (and does not necessarily have to be me). It could be sort of like a book club (which is why I named the title that).

So what are your guys' thoughts?

It would not matter where we start, it's just an idea. We could start there, if we wanted to. ;D

I love the responses! :hearts:
I don't care where we start. We could start discussing which season to start at and I don't mind international versions. (I won't be leading this that much.)
However, Season 12 and Season 13 videos were deleted because of

Unless anyone can find different ones. I can find all other American versions.

I put up instructions on how to easily access TAR videos on YouTube on your own. How does it work?

Edit: Took it down for security reasons.

Works just fine, but IMO you should take it down to keep the uploader safe. You can always PM people if they're having trouble finding the videos.

An actual book club is possible since there are now 3 Amazing Race books out there:

My Ox is Broken (which is AR1- AR9)

Circumnavigating the Globe: Amazing Race 10-14, Amazing Race Asia 1-3

Circumnavigating the Globe 2: Amazing Race 15-19, Amazing Race Asia 4, Amazing Race Australia

Additionally, do not spoil the result of the current race we are viewing. Others to view the race may be the first time viewed this season, so NO SPOILING.

All the people freaking out with the clue telling them to fly to South Africa. People using public transportation, "swing, fat bastard, swing", good times.

A little bit out of topic, but I was just watching again Season 12 the Dubrovnik leg and I noticed something weird: The teams didn't have their backpacks with them!

They exited from the airport without them and they reached the pit stop without them. I guess because of the nature of the tasks production instructed them to leave them somewhere.

Can you remember any other cases that this happened?

I remember reading in an interview with Azaria and Hendekea that production took teams' bags at the airport since they would not need them to complete the tasks and that it would make certain tasks (the zipline, for example) easier.
