Suggests the Philippines

"MANILA, Philippines - A Hollywood television series will be shot in the Philippines after the spy thriller “The Bourne Legacy” finishes filming in the country by Feb. 25, the film’s local producers said over the weekend.

Jun Juban of the Philippine Film Studios told The STAR during a weekly news forum that negotiations are ongoing for a four-month location shooting for the series.

“We are formalizing with our counterpart the shooting of the television series, which will again showcase tourist destinations in the country,” he said.

Juban declined to give details of the new series as not to pre-empt the official announcement.
But it says it's a new series.

But it says it's a new series.

What do u mean?
Like, I think it means it's a completely new show. I don't think we can assume Survivor will be in the Philippines just because we know a show will be filming there. Besides, the article states they will be filming for 4 months, which is a long time for Survivor.

Whatsoever... I don't think I'll follow the future seasons. None of recent seasons has lived up to my expectations. :groan:

Caramoan, Philippines the location for Survivor 25, 26

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/survivor_25/2012_Mar_09_caramoan-camsur-location

Quote
Survivor’s 25th and 26th seasons will be filmed earlier than usual and start production soon, with crew members heading to the location this weekend. And while there’s been rampant speculation about what exactly these seasons will consist of, and how returning cast members will be included, there’s very little concrete information except that the show will be filmed in the Philippines, specifically in a place known as CamSur.

News that the show would film in Caramoan, in the Camarines Sur province, has been coming from the islands, particularly over the past month. In January, a regional newspaper reported that “Survivor USA shoot will be the thirteenth season series of the globally broadcast reality show” to film there, and in mid-January, “personnel of the Provincial Capitol trooped to Gota Village Resort to attend to and oversee requirements at the facility in terms of personnel, housekeeping and logistical requirements in order to be ready for the coming of Survivor USA’s cast and crew.” Another report mentioned that a U.S. television series would film for four months, following production on the next Bourne film there.

More recent confirmation comes from a kayaking company and inn, which says on its web site that “Matukad island will be closed during March as production team of USA is now in Caramoan preaparing for the Survivor show!”, while a tour company advertised its experience on Facebook by saying “Survivor USA is setting up now at CARAMOAN, shooting will start by March… get the chance to have a glimpse of it.”

That the show would be filmed in Caramoan, in the Camarines Sur province, was reported two years ago, when a government official revealed that in a newspaper report—although the paper reported it in an odd way, saying that CBS’ version “would also be filmed here next year until 2012.” That, of course, wasn’t true, and the “until 2012” made little sense; it’s likely there were discussions back then, perhaps even with SEG tentatively reserving filming slots for 2012.

After talking to my friend who is at CamSur (Camarines Sur) right now for a client call (he works for an IT company in Manila), he said he's at the Survivor Base Camp.

My jaw dropped out of envy. I asked him to take pics but he said his digicam is taken and even his fone is not supposed to be used to take pics. A survivor crew is always with him. He said March 18 is a start of something for Survivor USA and he's there to supply a computer hardware and install it (something to do with fiberoptics). Anyway after this, I immediately googled Survivor 25 and it led me to this:

http://www.starmometer.com/2012/03/11/survivor-season-25-and-26-location-caramoan-islands-philippines/

here's a pic of the Caramoan Islands
(http://pinoypower.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/caramoan.jpg)

and this:

http://www.rickey.org/survivor-seasons-25-and-26-to-be-filmed-in-caramoan-islands-philippines/

I hope this is true.

Yeah I hope so too.

BTW I just checked with my friend.

He said he was asked to terminate the old connection and installed a new one using fiberoptics from the GOTA resort to the Survivor bosses' stations. He said he'd been to the Tribal Council set/location and he tried to pull out his Fone to take pics but the crew with him didn't allow him to even use his fone.

He was escorted to and from the set onboard a speedboat and wasn't able to take a single picture. He was only able to take his experience to make me envious for life.  :'(

Makes sense - they were going to shoot the sixth season there, but had to quickly change to the Amazon after landslides in the area. And hopefully if this is true, it means we might also get Jordan (replaced with Marquesas after 9/11) at some point.

Looks like a great and beautiful location and Survivor: Caramoan Islands sounds good in my ears!! :hrt: :hrt: :hrt: :hrt:

But do we know if it is one or two seasons there? Jeff Probst have to go back for the Survivor: One World Reunion show. And in the last three years they have started in end may to mid September. Gonna be funny to see if they do Survivor: Winners Edition or Survivor: Phillipines for season 25 or 26?

^ Its 2 seasons.

Basically saying that it might be All Stars, but less memorable(I think they pull that card every time an All Star is spec'd lol, though since UB aired I think its possible)

Bring back Parvati

DEF returning Teams. But more of a second chances/Unfinished Business I think. Survivors who either got screwed badly or screwed themselves badly. NOT a classic AllStars.

quoting from the link: "Production on Survivor’s 25th and 26th seasons will take place about three months earlier next year than it usually takes place. The next two seasons will be filmed in March and April, and then May and June. "

We need a wishlist thread

My Wishes: Rob Cesternino(screwed on Chapera), Danielle Dilorenzo(had a clear game to f3 and tore it all apart at just 1 TC), Jenna Morasca(Mother Died :(), Julie Berry(bottom of an alliance), Natalie Bolton(goddess taken out bottom of the alliance) & Ashley Underwood(goddess whos allies turned on her)

but we should KNOW that the following people will be back:

Rupert & Colby (being pagonged)
Russell(got screwed on RI)

which surprisingly I wouldnt mind them being back.

Russell........ You know they have invented this twist to let Russell come back  He is the next one they will push to win like they did to Rob :P

Cirie was robbed twice, IMO. How about Julie Wolfe, Ralph Kiser, Jane Bright, or NaOnka?

I am going to say that I think the returnees could possibly be for the "summer" filming season, so season 26. And again, not an AllStars. More of an I Got Screwed! sort of season.

Also wondering if Season 25 could have a couple but not all returnees...

There are no newbies in this season. It's all returning players.

So the returnees are on S25? ???

I am going to say that I think the returnees could possibly be for the "summer" filming season, so season 26. And again, not an AllStars. More of an I Got Screwed! sort of season.

Also wondering if Season 25 could have a couple but not all returnees...

Take it fwiw. :angel

Ooh, I kind of like this idea. Gives three people a chance to play the game again, but it's not three people who have been shoved down the throats of viewers.

I haven't watched a full season of Survivor in forever, but I might actually watch S25.

I totally get and am 100% behind a second chance for Mike and Russell. My question is why give Penner a 3rd chance? Also, I thought the theme was for medivac'd/medically pulled players to return, and Penner wasn'-he just got outplayed-twice!

Well it could be black like every other season or it could be another color with red/yellow/blue being the recent scheme they use :res:

Fun Fact- Merge Colors
Green (Rattana, Moto Maji, Palau Merge(if there was no Ulonging), Dabu, Forza )
Orange (Barrumundi, Alinta)
Pink (Soliantu)
Yellow (Chuay Jai, Te Tuna)
Red (Jacare, Xhakum, Libertad)
Black (Balboa, Gitanos, Aitutonga, Hae Da Fung, Yin Yang, Murlonio, Tikiano)
Blue (Chaboga Mogo, Nobag, Aiga)
Purple (Bula Bula)

Black= Overused :lol:

I'm so excited that Survivor finally landed in the Philippines.  :conf:

Our country is very beautiful (at least most parts)

According to a local film director here by the name of Theodore Boborol (he said from his source) and was posted on April 23, 2012 when filming of Season 25 is underway...

Spoiler 1: Survivor Season 25 will be called Survivor Philippines.
We already this by now to be correct

Spoiler 2: There are 3 tribes at the start consisting of 6 castaways.
We already this by now to be correct(3 tribes) I am not sure with the members of each tribe though

Spoiler 3: There are now 5 castaways left on the island. They're part of a 6-person alliance that got to the end.

Spoiler 4: The Top 5 consists of 2 males and 3 females.

Spoiler 5: One of the female castaways in the Top 5 is Brazilian. The other 2 females are Caucasian.

Spoiler 6: I don't have much info about the 2 males in the Top 5 except that one is young and the other one is old.

My insider contact also told me that they're now rehearsing for Survivor 26. There will be 20 castaways for the 26th season, 2 tribes of 10.

Nice banner.

The man is wearing a "salakot" a local hat-head umbrella which can be made of sasa, coconut leaves or anahaw leaf. That is usually an image of a farmer, the Philippines being an agricultural country. He is maybe holding a spear representing the various tribal indigenous groups here or maybe a fishing spear to symbolize the other means of living here; fishing

the two sankes at the bottom are cobras. We have the local cobra called "ulupong" which has a deadly venom and sometimes kill farmers because they have the propensity for laying themselves out in the sun and when people stepped on them, death most of the time.

The two reptiles on the sides I presume to be crocodiles, which we also have here (and yes they can represent our politicians too lol) and we call 'buwaya'. One was caught recently at Agusan marsh and is the largest saltwater croc caught alive.

If they are not crocs then maybe they are the local monitor lizards we call "bayawak'

I also see the Mountain Province Rice Terraces there as well as a few green mountains/islands. the two designs flanking the S and R of the Survivor logo are tribal designs, not sure but similar to that of the Maranaos.

the PHILIPPINES below the big Survivor (outside the logo) are actually not Filipino. It's japanese-the font style, I mean.

Usually Filipino fonting is a bamboo styled ones, bamboo being so common here.

I'm glad with the decision then. I don't think there have been any "recent" memorable Survivor players. The golden period of Survivor where I still remembered most of the players should be from Palau all the way to Heroes VS Villians.. after which I can't remember anyone! :gaah:

Three tribes, three returnees for Survivor 25

by Andy Dehnart / April 17, 2012, 10:36 AM

Survivor’s 25th season is being filmed in the Philippines right now, and there’s information that suggests the season will open with three tribes, and three returning cast members. Season 26 is rumored to include many more returnees, perhaps in addition to new players.

A photo posted to a Filipino message board Friday afternoon shows a challenge set-up that features three diving-board like objects, each of which is painted a different color. Survivor set design is usually pretty consistent with bright colors only being used to designate tribes, so the purple, yellow, and orange/red. However, it’s also possible that it’s from a three-team post-merge challenge; the week the photograph was published is around when a merge usually would take place.

There are also “reports,” which I place in quotation marks purposefully, that three past cast members, all of whom were medically evacuated from the game, will return: Michael Skupin, Jonathan Penner, and Russell Swan. There’s not much clear sourcing of that, and there’s some odd circular attribution, with this tweet from previous spoiler Jim Early/missyae suggest the three men being on the show is common knowledge, while other people are citing that tweet as evidence.

Someone on Survivor Sucks who claims insider knowledge confirmed those three names as part of a discussion, but it much earlier, late last year, a different person on Sucks posted that Russell Swan “hinted that we might be seeing him on the show again.”

There may have also been unintentional confirmation of this from Jeff Probst himself. After Colton was evacuated from the game, Probst tweeted that “Skupin was evacuated in episode 6, so was Jonathan Penner, so was Russell Swan and tonight so was Colton.” That the three men were on his mind shortly before production began may be more than a coincidence, and having them each in a separate tribe seems logical, following the model the show has established in recent years. Returning cast members are now the rule, not the exception.

S26 will be a second  "Fans vs Favorites." 2 tribes, 10 castaways in each.

Returnees in S26:
Show content
Erik Reichenbach
Corinne Kaplan
Brenda Lowe
Andrea Boehlke
Francesca Hogi
Phillip Sheppard
Brandon Hantz
Dawn Meehan
John Cochran
A male contestant from S25

Colton is NOT on S26.

What do we know about season 26, is it all returning players there?

If they are gonna call it "Fans vs Favorites 2" i`am gonna be so sad, hate that title, the returning castaways looks cool.
But if i could switch one it would be:

The title of S26 is Survivor: Caramoan. Caramoan is the name of an island in Philippine. Same filming location in S25.

This seems like the appropriate spot for this:

An interesting twist for S30 would be for them to have a 'double' season, but to not let either group know there was another group until they got to the 'second' merge point.  So 32/36 people 8/9 per 'tribe', 'merge' A/B and C/D at 9 remaining (to make them think it's a 7 person jury/2 person finale).  When each group hits the 'final 4' then merge them into a single tribe with all the jury members now united as well.  Final tribal could then be either 3 or 4 members with 12/13 jury.

Super excited for this season. If they filmed at July-August, they could have faced the harshest typhoons and huge rainfalls.

We talked about something similar at work a while back, but we couldn't see how the logistics would work out.

Each show would have to air two immunity challenges (which means no reward challenges, and without reward challenges or reward/immunity challenges, contestans would get suspicious), plus they'd have to air the goings on at 4 full sized camps, and two tribal councils each show.

Also, merging each group at the "final 4" wouldn't be fair.  You'd be asking the jury to vote on one out of four contestants to win, when they know absolutely nothing about two of them.  Or, what happens if the real finalists all come from one side?  Then you're asking for jury members to vote for someone that they have never met, or seen play at all.

Now, what we decided could work would be to do it up until the merge.  At the merge, Jeff tells tribe A and B, "drop your buffs, you are merged." and tosses them a bag of buffs.  They start putting them on, and realize that there are way too many.  They ask why, and Jeff yells, "come on in guys..." and tribes C and D walk in, looking just as confused.  Jeff explains that all 4 tribes (who knew nothing of each other) are merged into one tribe.

I doubt this "double" season would ever happen, but one way to solve the airtime problem is to have two shows a week (or a 2-hour show each week).   The first show/hour would feature the A/B side and the second show/hour would feature the C/D side.  Then after the merge you could go to one show/hour each week.

You would probably need some double elimination episodes, too, especially after the merge.

I think Survivor lost their mind. How is Brandon, Philip and Francesca favourites? I think they truly lost the definition of it. Picking these ten is like, they can't find ten players to play so they are just throwing in random names. :cmas30:

I agree about Francesca - she was interesting for one episode but they can't seriously bring back someone who was a first exit unless they were doing Survivor: First Boots or something... :res:

I'm not too crazy about Brandon, Erik or Cochran, even though I don't dislike any of them.

But I am EXTREMELY happy to see Andrea, Brenda, Corinne and Phillip there! <3 I do wish Natalie Bolton was included too. :(

Relatively happy to see Dawn and Malcolm, but not as much as those other four.

Overall, I don't dislike any of them, although I do like some more than others obviously, assuming this list is correct.
Title: Re: Survivor 25 and Beyond
Post by: Jobby on December 16, 2012, 05:45:45 AM
I'm still not too positive about Francesca being in the cast...

And although I do agree that Brandon, Cochran, Philip, Brenda and Andrea all were good picks to return... but how are they Favourites??? My issue here is with the word "Favourite". Philip and Brandon were obviously the villians on their season... so WHY... It's just like I don't get why JFP was a favourite in FvF in Season 16 as well! :(
Title: Re: Survivor 25 and Beyond
Post by: Glamazon Racer on December 16, 2012, 08:25:38 AM
I agree with Joab in that the word "Favourite" is used a little incorrectly. I think the way they are using it is by the meaning of people we like to watch play, as opposed to people we like period.

Phillip is amazing <3 but definitely a villain! If we see some more meditation and craziness, I will be over the moon! :cmaslol

And Brandon could be considered a villain although I couldn't really disagree with people considering him a hero either.

ANDREA is most definitely a favourite! <333 Aside from Phillip, she was the only person to make Redemption Island watchable and tolerable for me (not counting pre-merge boots). :cmas9

Brenda was my personal favourite castaway on Nicaragua (just ahead of NaOnka and Chase) so I am very happy about that choice! :cmas9

If we are talking about "villains", then Corinne would have to be the biggest one of all. I really loved watching her play on Gabon, but the Final Tribal Council with Sugar was just one of the most horrible things I have ever seen... :oh She will definitely add drama, and I really hope she is sitting on the jury! :hoot:

Dawn would definitely be considered a favourite for many (and I liked her too), as would Cochran and Erik I suppose (liked them both but not that much).

I think Malcolm is a good justifiable choice (although Abi would have been my choice from Philippines).

But there has been so many "fun players" in past season. Why didn't they get Christina back for more dumb blondes moments (I know they didn't invite her probably because she's just so not strategic).. but hey, Alicia was a pain in the ass to watch so why not her... over... Francesca?

I didn't think Andrea was a mindless pawn of Rob's. That was Grant and Phillip and Ashley and Natalie - Andrea had a little more intelligence and at least tried to play the game (although her tribe was so brainwashed by Rob she had no hope) so I would like to see what she can do with some normal tribemates.

Now waiting on Survivor 27 location. I am just hoping they use South Asia which was supposed to be in Sri Lanka/India but moved due to the tsunami. Knowing the producers we will likely have Survivor Samoa again -.-

Have read somewhere that maybe Solomon Islands is next, but Sri Lanka/India could also be great.
I would also love to see Survivor: Jordan and Survivor: Malaysia!!!!

But there is a new thread for Survivor 27/28.

I have something against the logo.

The Philippines isn't something like Fiji where cannibalism is related to its history, particularly Caramoan. If you go there and ask something about cannibalism, cannibals, people would look at you and scratch their heads.

So why are there skulls in the logo similar to what you can see in Fiji's logo?

But still hoping for a great season 26

have the producers ever thought of this:
start with 20, merge at say......... 14, dissolve into tribes again at like 10 and then merge again at 8 or something
would this be a good twist or am i just goin a little insane

Reasonable twist but merge earlier and dissolve earlier too.

They sort of did that in Gabon already. Fake merge, than split into 2 tribes of 5. And before that they had a tribe switch too...

I wouldn't.. that means we get to see each Survivor with less screentime. We already can't remember some of those pre-jury members... and some jury members.. I can't imagine a game with 32 players. :cmas31: :cmas12

Fake: 3 weeks is short of the 39 days survivor goes for and Survivor: Coal Mines is a generic name. You could film that anywhere where coal mines are. Tasmania is not the hot tropical island where survivor films.

Its just there to represent something not anything in particular against the Caramoan islands or Phillippines.

It's that "something" that I am trying to find out.
