From the Dec 9 issue of Entertainment Weekly - p.69:groan:
"... they Panama and touch down on American soil for a high-tech flight-simulator challenge and the perennial brain teaser. We do not know who will compete in the final leg, but it's a safe bet that race-long front-runners ... Tommy & Andy ... will make it to the final Pit Stop in Atlanta."
Thanks for not revealing the final three earlier!!! It was fun speculating!! :<3 :hrt:
But I'm still shocked that Andy & Tommy have been eliminated in Panama. Werent my favourites but I would of never though that they were not going to be part of the finale
Oh and that final challenge: :ascared :ascared :ascared Looks like they need to draw (or attach ropes?) the route on this big stand. Going to be awesome :yess:
An important FYI on the CBS schedule next Sunday. CBS has the doubleheader, which means that there will almost certainly be a overrun of the CBS coverage of the NFL. The maps from the506 website won't be available until Tuesday, so we won't know until then if any east coast markets may have a home blackout that is taking only the early CBS game.

Awesome!
Sad that Cindy the Psycho is in the final three though.
I am hoping she'll get beat to the final mat by about 5 feet!!!

Why the Cindy hate? Ernie & Cindy have done well this race, they only had two bad legs, in Leg 3 and 5, and even then, in Leg 5 they finished in 3rd, they were never in danger of elimination. They have done well to make the final 3.
And I don't understand the Andy/Tommy hate also.

When Tommy and Andy outran them to the mat, she whined about it, expecting them to LET her and Ernie have a first place, when it was her own fault they were that close.
Then, she uturned Bill and Cathy, who would in no way have outraced them, just so she could get a first place leg prize. Her sense of entitlement has irritated me to no end the entire race.
Tommy and Andy didn't bother me much. They were just having fun.

Interestingly, there will be another double roadblock finale. They also did the same thing about evening them out at six each in the eleventh leg.I'd personally prefer them to keep this trend: they can add an extra task and don't worry about an unused Detour, and the win by the team will depend on both teammates performing well.
There isn't any thing hidden that I am aware of, and I was right on their tails all day.
Awesome!

oh I see...there could be some route info clues , but pretty darn sure we saw all the tasks.
bill & cathi bet andy & tommy in a footrace to the pitstop, so how cant they beat ernie & cindy. it didnt even affect their placement, i think they probably had fun at the bunny challengeAwesome!

While, I would whine if I was barely beaten to the mat... I'm sure you would too.
How do you know Bill & Cathi wouldn't have beaten them to the mat? Ernie & Cindy have been pretty terrible with navigation so if they were looking for a first place (which is perfectly valid), the smartest thing is to U-Turn their closest competitor and slow them down.
Anyways, thanks to all the detectives for their awesome work on this episode. :hrt: The map task looks really challenging.

It was use it or forever hold their peace. There was unlikely to be (and the episodes after that have verified that) any further U-Turns on this race. So why not solidy first place by U-turning the second place team? It's been done before, one example being Rob/Amber in London on Ron/Kelly in AR7. Bill/Cathi were not targeted by Ernie/Cindy; they just happened to be the 2nd place team and Ernie/Cindy had lost the previous leg due to failure to use a U-Turn.
One thing to keep in mind. The "home field" curse. For Anami and Marcus, Atlanta is essentially a home field since their current residence is not far down the Interstate from metro Atlanta, and they'd get the Atlanta TV stations at home.
Teams making the final three with a home field advantage IIRC have never won TAR. Season 1 (Frank and Margarita in New York), season 2 (Tara and Wil in San Francisco), season 5 (Colin and Christie in Dallas) come immediately to mind, and that's enough to show my point.

Did someone say something about 2 Roadblocks? If so, why is Cindy perfomring both?Cindy only performed memory RB...Ernie performed first one.
AND, most important; no CLUEBOXES Roadblock?? :(

Does anyone know who is the confirmed winner of the race?
Sorry guys, those of you who have been here awhile know that I personally do not spoil the final three. Thanks for not spoiling the final 3 for us! :reindeer

She probably had to sign stacks of legal documents. I don't think she is at liberty to reveal the information...

Just a note:According to Australia's Channel 7 TV promo, I quote "the closest finish to the race ever!"
The three teams all arrived at the taxis within 3 minutes of each other and were underway in about 5 minutes total.
The Flight Safety is just around the back side of the airport... they all arrived there within 5 min of each other.
One of the closest starts I can remember!

Channel 7 are known for over hyping shows, however they must have had some prior info from the distributors, or they have been following this forum :cmaslolAccording to Australia's Channel 7 TV promo, I quote "the closest finish to the race ever!"
Wow, that's an interesting one. I wonder if they've actually seen the footage or just selling the programme? Could it really be as close as Season 2?
CBS Alert: Due to Live NFL football on Sunday, The Amazing Race COULD be delayed for East/Central Time Zone viewers, check here for updates
According to Australia's Channel 7 TV promo, I quote "the closest finish to the race ever!"If it beats approximately 10 seconds for AR2, I would be shocked. It sounds like hyperbole to me.

Probably a better place to check is the "TAR 19 Scheduling-Airing Times-Delays" thread where those are designed to go and where theschnauzers watches for the CBS EyeAlert.
I have said this before and I will repeat it for the benefit of the relative newbies who have never heard it:Really the only time I thought the edits just screamed who would win was seasons 10 and 17. But beyond that you could easily make arguments for multiple teams in a season being the winner.
Do not trust that the CBS/WRP edits will reveal ANYTHING about who will win AR19! They are designed to fake you out!

Well, I think Jeremy & Sandy will win. Last season, a lot of people counted out Kisha & Jen for the win, cause they had little to no edit each episode. I believe we have the same scenario here. That's my case for the Final this year!

I'd like to think that, but this must be the most evenly balanced final three ever. The winners is so anybody's guess it's kind of torturous having to wait for the finale. 1 more day.
By the way, I hope they have a tribute to Nancy before the episode begins, she deserves it so much
Who's Nancy?!
Who's Nancy?!
A racer from TAR 1 who passed away yesterday. Her and her daughter was a beloved F/F team who made it in 5th place. If you haven't watched TAR 1 DO IT! It's really a great season.
This is quite interesting:
Back in Denmark and with 6 teams left, Phil asked Ernie & Cindy which two teams they'd want to be in the Final Three with. They decided that the easiest competition would be Amani & Marcus and Jeremy & Sandy.

I attempted to redo what Ernie/Cindy and Jeremy/Sandy were forced to do regarding an Internet search of "The Dump". I tried the following under the following search topics in www.google.com:
"the Dump"
"The Dump" and Atlanta
Only when I added the word "residence" after Atlanta did the right answer come up on the first page of the search results. If they did not do that, then those 2 teams would have had to get lucky in advice from locals (which is the way Ernie/Cindy got the lead and why Jeremy/Sandy fell into 2nd place).
The Dump - Atlanta
www.thedump.com/stores_atlanta.html... Marcus Blvd. Atlanta, GA 30324; Telephone: 404.442.1900 ... We dump everything that gets between you and the best bargains in the business. We don't pay ...
The clue used "former residence;" and I would think a competent internet search would have used both terms. If you use the search strings "the Dump" AND "former Atlanta residence" now (not back on July 10 before all the articles on the Amazing Race started to appear) what you get on the first page results is only one reference to Margaret Mitchell House in Wikipedia. That's good enough that I would have gone with it.
They were headed to the map task the last time we saw them, so I assume they did it; had they been short-circuited to the final mat, I think we've would have been told.
Sorry if it's been mentioned before but does anyone know the time difference between 1st and 2nd?
Sorry if it's been mentioned before but does anyone know the time difference between 1st and 2nd?
I read in interviews that it was around 1 hour, and another hour between 2nd and 3nd. :cmas11
I think the finale episode is so dull. I only like the first few minutes of it, when they all arrived in the flight simulation task.
It seems that the TAR finale episode is getting duller as season goes by.

Yes! I agree with your first sentence, definitely! It was pretty meeeeeh for me. Even RFF thought of a better possible final task than this one! :groan:
But your second sentence? I beg to differ. :neener: I liked TAR15, TAR16, and TAR17's finale.

I thought TAR 16 was dull. TAR 15 one was still the best in past seasons. With no memory tasks, the switch in positions within the teams until the last ten minutes between the final three teams was crazy and absolutely memorable!!
I think the strong time in the final 3 is just Ernie & Cindy. The others made it into final 3 because the cab drivers work together and left Andy & Tommy last. No surprise that Ernie & Cindy won the race. And why my favorite teams always came at 4th? Really thinking about that.
