To catch up... Adam came out and talked to Shelly about keeping Brendon or not, explaining his thinking, and about keeping Rachel in the house. Shelly told him that if she is in the house, she'll be OK with that because she is a team player but she's not babysitting her anymore. (Couldn't tell how Adam is really leaning.)
Brendon out and talk ends, the 3 are just talking about Barbra Streisand and being Jewish. Shel says she's shy and sang at the Kennedy Center. Shel wondering who took over for Glenn Beck on Fox. Adam says he's going back to bed.

Porsche and Adam talking, she's griping because he slammed a door. Adam tells her that B/R are up if she wants to go to her bed but watch out for the wet spot. :lala

Back to the patio. Shelly is going through the line up of conservatives on Fox. Greta Van Susteren, Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Geraldo. Everything you see on
Fox, if you go to another network you'll see the exact opposite.
Brendon says every day he spends in the house, he thinks he's getting dumber and dumber. (PP)
Shel says this is the first time she's missed a trade show. In response to Brendon's question about her phone call, she says yes, they are watching. Shel mentions House Calls. She hopes she can continue to do them when she gets out.

Talk turns to education. Shel says if you get a 3.5 average you can go to college in LA and she expects nothing less from her daughter. Rachel says in Las Vegas if you work in the casinos, the state will help you go to college. Rachel is explaining that cocktail waitresses get $15.00 an hour plus tips. If you get a free drink you tip the waitress $5.00, if you win at the slot machines, you probably give the cocktail waitress $5.00. She says you will never get fired if you do your job. They belong to the culinary union. It's really hard to get fired. It's all on a point system and if you come in late, you get points off but you can go to trial. It's too much trouble to go to a trial so you might lose a day of working.

Shel: So you worked the high end events? Rachel said no, she mostly worked at the pool. She had a friend that worked the big tables, the men would throw her a chip and made a lot of money. Giving the cocktail waitresses a lot of money. Some have a job just hanging out at the table and not getting benefits, model girls, hanging out at the games. They get to keep the tips.

Rachel got a job working at the pool at the Hardrock at MGM,,wearing bikinis or a one-piece, they were modest. You have a sarong, or you could request little shorts. Wear your hair up, wear it down. Keep your body in good shape, but just do your job. The girls are treated at employees.
People rent a cabana, up to $2500 and the girls get a $400 tip. Shel says Wow! (I say wow too!)

Rachel says the girls go to school part time, from say 21 to 31 and then move up if they can. The casinos pay for good grades, so much for B's. So much for A's. Shel says no wonder people go there to work. Guys can bartend, host. Clients tip them to go get girls for them Some VIP hosts call them their girlfriends. She still gets text messages. Bring 3 girlfriends out. If you are a cute girl, he' say, I'll pay you $100 and I don't have to do anything. He's making $1000 for you to be there. You get champaign, you get lunch.
Rachel says the guys just want the girls there at the cabana or bungalow. Brendon says they want the girls to be around just to be cool.
Shel asks if they have regulars, Rachel says yes, you have clients who come in every 3 months, every 6 months.. she starts to mention someone and

Rachel talking about someone who is a great friend. She'll put it on her calendar if she has someone she really likes. She'll help them plan their trip, making reservations for them because they don't have time or know how to do it. She has clients who she plans their trips, she could be an event planner.
Shel says they had to go to a lot of events and hire a limo, some of them becoming friends.

Rachel explaining that sometimes they want to go to another club so she hooks them up with another friend. She says that her friends would watch the show when she was on. (Last year.) She has like a million friends.
Brendon: Rachel say what you would do, she'd have a red bull because it looks like champaign. She'd have a few glasses but she wouldn't drink during the day.
Shel: Do any of them ever go home with them?
Rachel: No, no one ever does, why would you want to do that, you'd lose your client. Maybe it's different in Miami. You break up after 6 months and they don't call anymore. Yeah you go out to dinner with them but you don't date them.

Shel: Do the strippers go out with them?
Rach: I don't know.
Bren: A lot of the girls who are waitresses make more money than the strippers.
Rach: Some say it's easier to take your clothes off than working as a waitress, I don't know. They have a lot of money, buy a lot of champaign, they say its fun. They want to save their champaign bottles, they can't take liquor out of the casino. People are there for the fun of hanging out in the cabana. (She keeps mentioning The Republic Hardrock and Rehab.)

Shel is telling them about going to the Hardrock, she followed the waiter out and told him to bring her water or something non alcoholic. She says there was one waitress that was normal, she really liked her. She was just a mom so Shel kept tipping her. One time she was up like $1200 and tipped her really good. She'd bring water or diet coke.
Rach: I would memorize every day what people liked and wanted. She'd remember, LSU, Mom, drinks diet coke. She'd remember her daughter's name. If you can get people tickets, there would be a kickback. She says she didn't work on the floor much.
Shel talking about the Rehab show. The owner is one tough gal. If there was trouble, she'd get them out of there.
Rach: Sometimes they would get out of hand, and you would tell them, it's time for you to go. (PP)

Rach: Keep giving them money.
Shel goes in and talk turns to game play. Brendon says they need to talk to Porsche. What can they offer her.
Rach: We just have to tell her as little as possible, she tells people. Tell her she's safe and be as personable, we're friends. I realized she operates more on a friend level.
Bren: Convince her that I have her back.
Rach: Porsche is like I don't think Jeff likes me. He's a tough physical guy. Convince her of that. She has Adam but he's not going to be able to go up like Jeff.
Shel back and the conversation switches back to Las Vegas.

Rachel is telling Shel that she thought her job would be there at Encore Beach Club. The cabanas were like $2500, at Encore, they were like $25,000. Owners, basketball players.
Rach: So I went there at E. Beach club, I was like great with management. You'll miss the summer at Vegas, that's all your money. You'll have your job and blah blah, I thought it would be just a summer. My clients would still be like: Oh that's so cool. But when she got back she couldn't cocktail, but maybe be a VIP marketing manager. She'd have a client list, get them to come, but wouldn't be serving them and no tips. She'd only get a 2% tip booking tip. Not a lot. Then it was like your job, you are a payroll employee, you have requirements for dressing. A nice business outfit.

It took her a month to accept it but she had a lot of paper work, then they said we had to cut this position so like GREAT I don't even have this. 6 days a week, you have to work everyday, getting clients, meeting people. At night you had to actually work. Make sure people are there.

Shel: So there are people who come in for big parties.
Rach: I probably would have worked my way up. She'd still be a host, their #1 host, she'd have people under her, one of those jobs when you are over 31.
Shel: So that would be easy money. Would you have to pay taxes on your tips? At the end of they day do you have to account.
Rach: No, the union takes the amount of money at the end of the day, using the year before, they say ok, on the basis of this they are making $20 an hour and they take their %.

Rach: You're paying taxes. You get a W2. You work like 10 hour a day. You make $100 a day but you are taxed for $20 an hour. You don't get lunch hours, you work 10 hours a day, you go on the floor at 10, you can't leave. If a client buys you lunch that's OK. They would bring protein bars, take a 5 minute break. But you could sit down and talk to a client. That's a break. You could go in the back and grab a water, a bite to eat. It's not an easy day, some days it's 110 degrees. You are dying of heat, sweating. They would supply them with gatoraid. Give them a breakfast. Put food in the refrigerator. Bananas or melons. Some mornings, the chef would cook up eggs for them. Put aside fruit for them cut up so you can grab a cup during the day.

After your shift you would go to the EDR (employee dinner room.) They would go out to eat.
Shel is pretty informed on Las Vegas casinos.
Rachel brings the talk back to education, that's why most people don't get their degrees. One friend got her nursing degree. You can't work at a pool forever.

Rachel says they start in March or May they rehire after Memorial day. You can go to school part time.
Shel: So you get up every day and go out to hustle. That's awesome.

Rach: You have days that you can take classes during the week. The university has a lot of classes, hospitality and tourism. ULV.. best place in the country to get your degree is there.

Shel says I knew coattail waitresses made a lot of money they have to! I couldn't do it, working out in the sun. She's into the house.

She asks Shel when they got them up this morning. 8:30. Rachel says all the good fruit is always gone by this time of the week.

Rach: I don't know how people can sleep so much!
Shel: I wish they would get us up at 7am. I could completely do the entire house. I put on music, clean the whole house.
Rach: Me too. Brendon out and Rachel asks him again if he wants her to make breakfast. I don't think he has his mic on yet.
Rachel says she doesn't think anyone cleaned the porch last summer, but Bren says he hosed it off. Rachel tells Shelly that last year they had cockroaches in the house and Shel says that's NOT going to happen this year. :lol:

Now talking about trash/recycling. Shelly finds it weird that everyone recycles things around the house. Daniele says she has two different bins in the house - one for trash and one for recycling. Her work doesn't do the recycling thing. Says it's stupid.
Somehow, this turns into a conversation about the guys in the back of the kitchens/bars/restaurants (bussers). Now talking about one of Daniele's co-workers. Saying he works double shifts, works until three in the morning... Older, but not too older. Daniele says he's amazing. His family's from Mexico so he doesn't see them often. Last time he saw them, he hadn't seen them in eight years. Shelly says that he's legal and we get WBRB.

Back and the feed quickly switch to Brendon/Rachel apparently not in a good mood in the bathroom. Brendon heads into the WC and you hear the flushing. He comes out and they talk next to the sinks. (Zero clue what Brendon is saying, but he's clearly not happy.) Rachel climbs into the shower. Others were in the house, but it seems like they went back outside.
Feeds switch back to Shelly/Daniele in the kitchen. Shelly's trying to figure out how many noodles to cook. Daniele says pasta is the main thing people never run out of in the BB house. Looks like Shelly's using the entire bag. Shelly says that she's got a neat looking pasta holder. Daniele brings up the infomercial pasta thing and we're now into macaroni and cheese talk. Shelly's husband uses four different cheeses, cream, butter... Not good for you, but it tastes great. Better the day after.

Jordan comes in and says it's cold outside. Inside too, apparently. She comes in for a food check and the spaghetti's almost done. Jordan sounds pleased.
Shelly now talks about pot/pan organization. We bring up a laptop now and there's WBRB for some reason.

Back and we're talking about computers and technology. Talking about music and Daniele's iPod. Shelly talking about memory for something (laptop) that she bought after her original BB appearance. Shelly saying she should buy a MacBook Pro worth $1000 or so.
Daniele is seeing lights behind the wall and they creep her out. She keeps mentioning this and the noises during this conversation. (I'm getting so confused with this and people claim that I'm the technology expert in the house.)

A lot of technology talk between Shelly/Daniele right now. This is giving Shelly pure joy. She brings up her office and how nobody's probably keeping her computer going. She says her husband has a MacBook Air and he's probably watching the feeds on it.
Daniele asks what the time difference is and Shelly says it's two for her family.

Daniele/Shelly trying to figure out why Dick left. Daniele keeps thinking about it every day. Girlfriend? No. Job? Not sure; Daniele doesn't know anything about that (or anything about anything related to him, for that matter). They know it had to be major/huge in order for him to leave. Shelly thinks it's a major job, but Daniele doesn't think so.
Rachel is talking in the background, maybe also helping in figuring it out. They bring up Dick's family and we get WBRB.

Back and Porsche's inside. Says she's a little sweaty. Talking about dirty pillows. Something about a stain?
Porsche asks Shelly if she needs any help and Shelly says she's got it under control. Porsche says that it smells good. They say that the boys are really happy about dinner.
Kalia comes in. Says she can't walk and drink at the same time. She has to stop and drink.

Everyone is getting excited... Because BB gave them some early gifts.

Everyone is trying to distribute the alcohol around. Four beers and two wine bottles. Rachel out of the conversation as she's putting makeup on in the bathroom. Appears to be by herself.

Jordan is the first to get to the food. Daniele/Rachel talking about alcohol distribution.
Daniele asks Jordan why she doesn't drink in the house and Jordan says it makes her tired. Daniele is next to grab some food and we see that it's long spaghetti. She doesn't want much.

Something is happening at 9:30 BB time. Not sure what that is.
Brendon comes in and goes directly to Rachel. They kiss and Rachel says everything is fine. They thank BB for the alcohol. Jeff enters and we get hot dog challenge talk. Jeff's not doing it.
Jeff can't find the lotion. Rachel jokes and says that if the lotion leaves the bathroom, Jeff will beat them up.

Adam/Jeff really having some profanity come out. Jeff tells him to wait until 9 to get going, or he'll be on Showtime with a fat lip.

(Everyone seems to be chowing down on food/getting themselves drinks. WBRB is on, so I'll take off as nothing of note is happening right now.)
