Thanks for the new intro.
I hope it's just a rough cut because the rhythm is off and it looks poorly done to me.
The season 1 intro is almost perfect to me, and the season 2 intro pales in comparison, especially with all of the head turning. Season 1 had no head turning except for a subtle one from Rick & Josh.

The girls were born after the one-child policy act so I doubt if they are sisters. I think cousins refer to each other as sibling in the absent of actual ones. I know people that grow up during the former USSR call the're cousins brothers or sisters as well.

Now there is so many one-child family in mainland China because of the birth control ,child in this family often regard their cousins as their real brother or sister.
I believe that will be hard to see a Chinese sibling team in CR (except twins).

It shouldn't be hard to get a Chinese sibling team in China Rush.
There were, and still are, enough loopholes and exceptions to the one-child policy that sibling teams are very possible.
Only a team of brothers might be somewhat difficult, but it's still possible if they're an ethnic minority or they have rich parents.

I need to change some info:Matt and Kylee are not dating,they are just friends,classmates in a Chinese language learning school in Shanghai.And Matt's nationality is New Zealand .Kylie has applied to TARA before but failed.

When teams go to the little boat ,boats took them to a fish market,then RB comes-
one person need to seat on a float tub in the lake to catch 5 fishes .(This task will happen before Chinese Herb Shop),the reason why they deleted it is that many teams can't complete this task(only 2 teams -Mary/Cecila,Lv Meng and Xiao Long finished this task),then the teams who can't do RB all make a deal to give up the task and move on...so production edited the RB.And if you feel strange about why some teams catched up immediately and Lily/Jan looked so behind boys,that's the reason

We are deciding as we go...based on what worked last time I have UPDATED the first post here with the rules for this thread and the LINKS to watch.
Basically, this is a spoiler thread. Since the Chinese language version airs ~ 6 hours earlier than the English, I will ask the Dragon TV viewers to use spoiler white tags until the ICS English version has aired. After that, no need for spoiler bars. Sound good?

I was a bit bothered by the subtitles when the teams were speaking Chinese, but maybe I'll get used to it. I'm also wondering about penalties for taking private vehicles. Does this not apply in the China Rush version of AR?

Thanks for the welcome :). I was thinking about it and I think the show would be better/easier to watch if it were either all Chinese with English subtitles or all English with Chinese subtitles. It's kind of annoying when the language switches and you have to start reading the subtitles.

I hope that someone can find out if Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er got penalized for taking that private car.
I really hope that they show all the departure times in episode 2 because if they didn't get penalized, and the check-in times between them and the last 3 teams were less than 30 minutes, then I'll have a big problem with that. (Of course, TPTB last year changed up the departure times, so they might not be accurate if they do it again this year.)

Just watched Episode 1 and I REALLY enjoyed it!
Was kinda sad to see Paul/Nash go, but at least Matt/Kylie stayed!
If I had to rank the remaining ten teams from favorite to least favorite
1. Matt/Kylie- Matt is very likable and funny while Kylie provides fantastic entertainment. The fact that it was down to the wire between them and another team made me instantly pull for them.
2. Mary/Cecilia- They're smart and savvy and I find them to be fun to watch. I hope they last a while.
3. Rhett/Howie- Going in, I didn't really think I'd like them and would find them to be rather camera-hoggish, but they provided some fun to the episode.
4. A Lai/Jackie- The mother is absolutely ADORABLE! I love her! Her son, while likable, is overshadowed by her adorableness.
5. Lily/Jan- Lily is awesome! She's funny and really cool! I like them a lot and think that they have great potential.
6. Elena/Tameka- They seemed a bit quiet this episode, but I hope they have a breakout episode next week.
7. Hao Fe'ir/Sun Bin- I like Hao Fe'ir and find her adorable, but Sun Bin isn't as entertaining as her.
8. Xiao/Lv- Meh. That's all I have in terms of an opinion of them.
9. Summer/Eachan- Meh. They're not really entertaining, but I don't dislike them by any means.
10. Simon/Katherine- I want to like them, I really do, but they seem a bit boring compared to the rest of the teams.

I forgot to say that I think the intro is much better than the earlier versions.
The only problem that I have with the intro is Mary & Cecilia's portion; there are too many different shots: digging in the sand, a wide shot of a beach, riding some vehicle, and then the team pose. I think theirs is a mess.
Everyone else got the standard shot of the team in action and then the team pose, which works much better.
I was also disappointed that they didn't have Behind the Rush like last year.

Race fairness-wise, the English/Chinese thing is a good adjustment.
Viewing-wise, unless you understand both, it's a rush in itself. :lol:
Personally, HOPEFULLY even though it's not Cantonese, I can learn to understand and speak a bit! My teacher did say to watch more Chinese drama. And this Chinese race drama should be enough. :lol3:
I liked the first episode, my faves after this first eppy are A Lai & Jackie and Mary & Cecilia!
I initially thought that the Detour was not balanced enough, that the second option is too hard, but I'm so wrong. The first one is a lot tougher!
And that unaired RB looks fun. X) I wish we could've watched the teams do it.

Yup, allan wu still sucks, i must admit china rush 2 has improved dramatically from the first craptastic season, but it's still not quite there yet, oh well, it's only been 1 episode in so who knows, it could be the next TAR Australia.
I loved how china rush (unlike a certain asian version of the amazing race ) has gone from a mediocre knockoff to a quality effort that really show that the producers were trying hard. I loved the great camera work, the camera panning over the contestants with that awesome music in the background *chills* EXACTLY what the amazing race is about. However the editing is a bit lacking in the "oohs" and "aahs" department (BUT STILL A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN THAT INSULT OF A VERSION, THE AMAZING RACE ASIA) and like I said, Allan Wu and his constant cheesiness is still an aggravating problem, they only need to replace that joke of a host and It'll already be a huge improvement. Hell, I'll take Grant Bowler's robotic hosting style ANYDAY.
Still, it's well done and a great effort, but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, because everything can easily go downhill from the very first episode (see TARA 3). oh well, the chinese - english thing is a little hard to get use to (I live in china so I have a little familiarity with the language) but to constantly go from listening the english contestants to reading the subtitles of the chinese contestants throws me off a little bit. TAR Australia started great with it's first season, TARAsia started great and went downhill to pretty much the point where it jumped the shark, and TAR China Rush started pretty awful(the first season) and now looks to be on par with TAR Australia and dare I say it, The U.S version *dramatic music*

Sun Bin and Fei Er couldn't find the code and took a 2 hour penalty. Jackie and A'lai arrived after they started the penalty and also couldn't find the code, and were still looking after Sun Bin and Fei Er had left. Fei Er (is that the girl, i've forgotten?) did the roadblock, and they made it to the pit stop in 9th place. Jacke and A lai took the 2 hour penalty at the code task and went to the waterfall task where they were eliminated.

My rankings after Ep. 2,
1. Matt/Kylie (+/- 0 from last week)- Still my absolute favorite! Matt is funny and a good racer while Kylie (besides being incredibly attractive) is uber-funny. I was so glad that they were in 7th for now but can't wait to see them do even better!
2. Mary/Cecilia (+/- 0 from last week)- Still funny, good racers too. I'd like them to make it far as well.
3. Elena/Tameka (+ 3 from last week)- They're fun, likable, and I was kinda pulling for them to win the leg.
4. Lily/Jan (+1 from last week)- Lily is epic. Jan is too Under-the-Radar for me to really have much of an opinion of.
5. Rhett/Howie (-2 from last week)- I like them, but they were just a bit meh this episode
6 Hao Fe'ir/Sun Bin (+1 from last week)- Hao Fe'ir is what makes this team for me. Sun Bin is just kinda there with his leg, but she's funny and I was really happy to see her sorta help Jackie/A-Lai
7. Xiao/Lv (+1 from Last week)- Still mehh, but had mild entertainement at the puzzle. Other than that, I didn't really remmeber them.
8. Summer/Eachan (+1 from Last week)- The only reason they're above the bottom team is because of their relationship with Lily/Jan
9. Simon/Katherine (+1 from Last week)- Still just kinda there. I hope they do something soon because to be quite honest, I don't remember much about them.

I thought episode 2 was pretty good overall, despite the self-imposed penalties and final result.
I'm getting used to the subtitles now. They threw me off in the first episode, but I've started to read them faster, so I'm able to dart my eyes back and forth and follow the action better.

This week Matt and Kylie missed a clue, if I'm not mistaken (the one telling them about the detours), but didn't receive a penalty for it. Is this normal? I though you needed to collect all the clues to check-in or face a penalty at the pit stop?

They didn't miss the clue...it aired they found clue...then decide to do collect detour,when their taxi arrived detour place ,they met Sun Bin and Fei er who missed clue,this is what happen.

When they arrvied collect detour,they don't know what to do and then realized they not find cluebox ,then they go to find detour cluebox and decide to do another option.

Mary & Cecilia's words didn't match their actions in episode 2. They knew they were second leaving the Roadblock. If they were so concerned about being perceived as a threat, then they shouldn't have let their taxi driver take a shortcut or they could've feigned leg cramps once they got out of their taxi, and let Elena & Tameka overtake them, instead of barreling their way to the mat.

First clue: Take one of two marked buses, one at 4:30 and one at 7, to Jingde Village train station, and take a train to Ningde and get off at Tai Mu Shan Station and look for a clue. On the first bus are the Sisters, Elena & Tameka, Xiao Long & Lu Meng, Summer & Eachen, Lili & Jan, Howie & Rhett and Kylie & Matt. Everyone else gets in the next bus. There's a big rush to get tickets at the station but there is only one train, so the second bus catches up and everyone gets on the same train. In Ningde, they have to go to Niulanggang Beach to look for the next clue. Marked taxis are waiting at the station, and Xiao Long & Lu Meng get off in first place. Everyone is rushing to get there first, but everyone gets stuck in a queue when they have to wait for someone to open a gate.

Summer & Eachen and the Sisters arrive at the beach first. The clue is a Detour: Wheels or Peels. Wheels is to push a water tricycle from the beach into the sea and pedal it to a big inflated ball out at sea, then transfer from the tricycle to a 'banana boat' and ride it back to the beach with the ball. Back on the beach the teams need to get the clue from inside the ball. Peels is to ride a segway down the beach and search for 6 different fruits buried in the sand then take them to a fruit seller to get the clue. Summer & Eachen, the Sisters, Xiao Long & Lu Meng decide to do the fruit one. Katherine & Simon and Sun Bin & Fei Er decide to do Wheels. Summer finds a watermelon, and Lu Meng finds a dragon fruit. Fei Er & Sun Bin and Katherine & Simon start their detour. The sisters find a pineapple. Summer says they have 2 oranges, asks the sisters if they have any extra fruits they can swap. Howie & Rhett and Kylie & Matt arrive, both teams decide to do Wheels. Elena & Tameka arrive next, and choose Wheels. Jan & Lili arrive and decide to do Peels. The Sisters, Summer & Eachen and Xiao Long & Lu Meng are having troubles finding all the fruits. Fei Er & Sun Bin finish their detour first and are the first to leave. The next clue says to take a bus to Ningde City, then go to North Bank Park and find the pedalo boats and search the lake for the next clue. Lili and Jan switch detours. Simon and Katherine finish the detour second and leave. There is a Yield ahead. The sisters and Eachen talk about switching tasks, but only want to do it if both teams switch. Summer doesn't want to switch.

Howie & Rhett finish the detour next, then Kylie & Matt. Everyone except for Xiao Long & Lu Meng give up the Peels detour and do the Wheels detour. Elena & Tameka are next to leave the detour. Lili & Jan are the next to finish. Summer & Eachen finish the detour next, then the sisters shortly after. Eventually Xiao Long & Lu Meng give up after they can't find the last fruit and switch too. The first bus to North Bank Park has Howie & Rhett, Elena & Tameka , Kylie & Matt, Sun Bin & Fei Er on board. Katherine & Simon just missed it. Xiao Long & Lu Meng finish the detour. The second bus has Lili & Jan, the sisters, Summer & Eachen and Katherine & Simon on board. Teams on the first bus discuss the yield. The teams from the first bus arrive in Ningde city and race to get a taxi to the park. Sun Bin & Fei Er arrive first and yield the sisters. Kylie & Matt arrive second, then Elena & Tameka, then Rhett & Howie. Second bus arrives in Ningde and another race for taxis ensues. Kylie & Matt and Sun Bin & Fei Er find the next clue on an island in the middle of lake. Go to the Min Dong restaurant to find the next clue. Elena & Tameka find the clue next. Kylie & Matt take a private car to the restaurant, and Sun Bin and Fei Er also decide to take a private car to the restaurant. Rhett & Howie find the clue. Howie and Rhett come while Sun Bin and Fei Er are waiting for the woman to bring the car.

Go to the pit stop at the She Palace Museum. Matt & Kylie leave almost immediately after Sun Bin & Fei Er. Kylie steals someone else's taxi, and then Sun Bin & Fei Er get in a taxi, and now there's a race to the pit stop. The sisters arrive at the lake and have to start the yield; wait for an incense stick to burn down. Sun Bin and Fei Er come in first and win a trip to Hong Kong. Kylie & Matt come in second. Elena & Tameka finish the RB and leave. Howie also has trouble opening the shells and decides to stamp on them. Katherine & simon find the clue and are next to leave the lake, then Summer & Eachen who have a talk with the girls and tell them where they found their clue . Howie & Rhett finish the RB and leave. Lili & Jan are looking for the clue at the lake, then find it and leave. Xiao Long & Lu Meng arrive at the road block.

Simon smashes his clams against the wall to open them, and Jan stamps on his. Simon & Katherine leave the RB. Summer & Eachen get to the pitstop in 5th place. Jan & Lili leave the RB, and Jan has to throw up outside, just as Xiao Long & Lu Meng arrive at the restaurant, followed by the sisters. Xiao Long and Cecilia are doing the RB. The sisters leave the RB first, then Xiao Long & Lu Meng almost immediately afterwards. Katherine & Simon get to the pitstop in 6th place. Jan & Lili get to the pitstop in 7th place. The sisters are rushing their driver to get to the pit stop, there's a lot of traffic on the road. The sisters arrive first and come in 8th. Xiao Long & Lu Meng get to the mat moments behind the sisters and get eliminated.

Looks like all teams went to restaurant from North Bank Park by provate cars(there is no taxi nearby)...CR allow teams taking private cars if they can persuade people taking them.

It seems like TAR China Rush 2 has gone the way of TAR australia and started spoiling the results in it's previews. There is a part in the preview where it flashes over the 8 remaining teams at what I'm pretty sure is the next pitstop and by the looks of it, it ain't lookin' good for our beloved Mary and Cecilia.
the preview shows, the teams I presume are safe (because of the lighting, it's obviously during the afternoon). the 6 teams shown are (screencaps are below):
1. Elena and Tameka
2. Sun Bin and Hao Fei'er (damn it!)
3. Summer and Eachen (Summer and Eachen also appear in Matt and Kylie and Rhett and Howie photo, so it's safe to say they probably got a penalty, they may have been blocked from view in Lily and Jan screencap and by Mary and Cecelia in the last screencap)
4. Lily and Jan
5. Matt and Kylie
6. Rhett and Howie
then Mary and Cecelia and Simon and Katherine are shown at the pitstop at dusk and Mary and Cecelia hug in "we've-just-been-eliminated" fashion while Simon has a shocked look on his face and Katherine looks sorry for Mary and Cecelia. So from this promo, it's safe to say the girls go next. Edit: However it's possible that Summer and Eachen got a penalty that could have put them in last place but I still think it's highly unlikely
My theory is that unfortunately someone U-turns the girls (could it be the rockers again?) or who knows, maybe Summer and Eachen are eliminated due to a massive penalty (this makes the statement in the preview "a shocking exit in the most surprising china rush pit stop ever" reasonable, since an exit by the girls wouldn't be all that surprising since they escape elimination this leg by a hair)

oh, from the looks of it, the wushu fatties were the most popular teams during the episode featuring their elimination. I guess the number of votes has something to do with it.

After seeing so many teams use private vehicles in episode 3, I have no issue with Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er anymore.
Using the Yield was a good strategic move, but Xiao Long & Lv Meng didn't hold up their end of the bargain; they didn't go for the knockout.
I've never had a problem with teams complaining about being Yielded or U-Turned if the Yield/U-Turn was a bad strategic move. For Mary & Cecilia to say that Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er used a "dirty trick" to Yield them and also that it wasn't a "fair and square" way to beat them was ridiculous.

when teams arrived Mt Taimu,they need to go to the statue of Taimu goddness,there will be a counting task(not sure details).then teams received clue to go to Niulanggang beach.

One task in Leg3 not aired.
That explains a discrepancy I noticed while viewing the episode. One team read their clue loud and it said they should get off the train at such and such station where they would find their next clue. But what they did show was instead the teams rushing into taxis and traveling to the beach and then get their clues there. So it was obvious that something was missing.

There is something fish with the departure times in this race.
In leg 2 all the intervals were multiplies of 5 minutes. And given the fact that almost all teams gave up a task the interval between team #2 and #3 ought have been close to two hours. Instead it was just 5 minutes.
Leg 3 is even stranger. Elana & Tameka arrive by taxi to the Rainbow bridge about half a minute after Mary & Cecilia (you can see the latter rush into the entrance when the former arrive). From the entrance it is about 200 meters to the pit stop. Yet they are released 12 minutes after Mary & Cecilia. In this case I must admit that we did not see them in the background when Mary & Cecilia checked in so they could have gotten lost.
But teams 3-5 arrived simultaneously to the mat. They just jumped on it one after the other. But team #4 was released 9 minutes after #3 and #5 16 minutes after #4.
It seems as if either do teams get lots of penalties or time credits, or production prefers to just make up start times.
The actual start time does not really matter that much since there have been bunching points after the start in both leg #2 and #3.

My guess is that having only previously done one season, China Rush isn't as streamlined and efficient as the US version. So multiple production stops or holdups by camera crews or otherwise might have taken place.

Once Allan Wu mentioned on Weibo.com that in one leg he waited for a team for over 15 hours without mentioning which leg it was. If he referred to Leg 1, then it's understandable that they set a certain interval between teams in lieu of using the real time intervals, because in that case even trains couldn't make up leeway.
Some fans may feel confused about Leg 3 and think "there must be something unaired." My news is that someone who's supposed to be a member of the crew posted something in Baidu Postbar after EP3 aired to let on about the inside story concerning what really happened in that leg, from the view of an onlooker. This long inside story became a bombshell then, which shocked almost every fan on Baidu.com and Weibo.com.

I'm not gonna translate it, first because it's quite voluminous, second because I'm afraid what this guy said in the post (somewhat sinister) may disappoint all of you guys. On weibo.com we had a discussion about this inside story. Some contestants expressed their support for CR, but to some extent they also acquiesced in the context of it. ICS seemed careless about this inside story, claiming "believe it or not" and they're going to "face any rumor" because "this is what a show should do in this situation."

Some key points about that post (Excuse me for the bad translation):
1. The first task that has been deleted was to calculate the number of umbrellas which weren't regularly arranged. Eachan chose to calculate an approximate number by multiplication (which was against the rule in American version, they say?) and then guessed the real number. So it turned to be not to count one by one, but to guess the number one by one. (Maybe it's called exhaustivity in English?) Other teams shared the accurate calculation result except Lily & Jan, who were isolated by other teams.
2. When teams arrived at the beach, they encountered a production delay because the crew hadn't hidden the fruits. And here comes the imbalance of detours: teams that chose the waterwheel task finished in no more than 20 minutes (mostly in 10 minutes or so), while other teams had to change the task after over 40-minute endeavor. Fruits were not well hidden because of lack of arrangement time.
3. So many mistakes in the long production delay, which lasted from the noon to the dusk. The directors wrongly calculated the time that Lily & Jan and Xiao Long & Lv Meng used in Fruit task. Contestants protested, but finally directors ordered that all teams must set out following the sequence the crew calculated in a certain interval, no matter whether it was fair or not. And when the production delay finished, all teams knew their positions already.
4. Howie and other foreign teams enticed Hao Fei'er to use Yield onto 90's sisters because 90's sisters enraged them by winning 2 legs. Howie also told the vice-director that Simon didn't use a life jacket in the waterwheel task, which instantaneously resulted in a 15-minute penalty on Simon's team. Nobody knows whether this penalty was legal, since no one else had ever noticed this thing and gave out his verdict. This affair enraged Simon. If Simon's team arrived at the Yield earlier, they'd probably use Yield on Howie's team.
5. When teams were to take a minibus to Ningde, the director group ordered that wushu team (Xiao Long & Lv Meng) should give their tickets to Lily & Jan because the directors believed "according to our calculation in the production delay, your team have no opportunity to get these tickets so soon." 90's sisters wanted wushu team to stay in the game and helped them recalculate the real time wushu team used in Detour, but directors refused to accept it. Wushu team then wanted to quit, but decided to continue the race after a lot of persuasion from other teams.
6. Sun Bin didn't want to use Yield initially, but Hao Fei'er successfully persuaded him because she wanted to save wushu team. So the use of Yield actually showed the allies and conflicts between them in the game.
Fans in Baidu Postbar are wondering whether directors wanted to save foreign teams or not by manipulations and machinations. :groan:

Before Tammy & Victor can get off the mat (ie. within a minute or so), and when Mark & Michael only have one minute of their penalty time left, Jaime & Cara arrive. But then at the start of the next leg, Jaime & Cara are suddenly over three hours behind Tammy & Victor, and there's another fifteen minutes between the girls and the brothers. And that's even ignoring the plane arrival in Leg 7 and their departure time implying Tammy & Victor completed all their travel, the elephant and tiger tasks, the drawers, and the incredibly-physical 2 Miles Detour task within just 29 minutes.

That Roadblock was tough. Tameka and Lily did what three of the guys couldn't do.
I was surprised that they showed Summer & Eachen's explanation immediately instead of waiting until the end, because it took the wind out of the sails of the elimination, but things like that are what make this show different, which I like.

EP4 was supposed to be a NEL, but Summer & Eachan's quit wholly changed the producers' plan to set an intersection in EP5. Thus an additional Yield was set in lieu of Intersection.

Simon's treatment of Katherine at the spice thing was extremely irritating, I know he didn't mean anything bad, but he talked to her like she was a moron who doesn't know how to cut and must be directed on everysingle step, he needed to shut his trap, let her cut, and be eliminated.
Lily and Jan lost my respect, Their yielding of the counsins (they're cousins, not sisters) was more a bullying maneuver, the smart thing to do was to yield the rockers, at least it cost you first place. I don't like them at all anymore.
Mary and Cecelia (my favorite team) have been coming second-to-last in the past 3 legs, and in 2 of them they have been yielded, they're tough girls, but I want to see them rebound spectacularly, hopefully getting revenge on Lily/Jan and the rockers.
Thank god Rhett and Howie were non-eliminated, please let it be Simon, please!!

well, apparentely teams can hitchhike in private vehicles without any issue, so i guess the rules in china rush are much more lenient

My thoughts on a few teams:
Matt & *BEEP*- my *BEEP* favorite team due to all the *BEEP*
Mary & Cecilia - one of my two favorite teams; I like them because they are a good team (or at least were) and they're the most attractive.
Rhett & Howie - my other favorite team; they're pretty entertaining, but I don't see them staying much longer now that they're starting to wear. But then again, Steve & Dave lasted about three legs longer than anyone expected.

The deleted RB in Ep1 was to catch fish in a lake. Only 2 among 11 teams finished it, which let the producers think the designing of this RB lacked a second thought.

This may be the first time I nearly cried at an elimination. All the kids following the two while they sang, then Rhett gave the kids the balls they'd been juggling the entire race. :'(

That was frustrating, worst stream I have had this season.
But not as frustrating as for the teams!
LOVED the zip line!! I wanted to do it! But what was with TWO teams not READING THEIR CLUE?? :groan:

I get why the cousins yielded Lily and whatshisname, they yielded them.
But I don't entirely get why the rockers felt the need to U-Turn anyone? ??? Something about saving Matt and Kylie?
Anyway I am SO glad the ladies survivied, I am enjoying watching them race!
But I totally do NOT get having a NEL negate the whole double U-Turn...strange placement.

My stream was bad today too.
It is interesting how the teams have avoided penalties this season for things that should be penalized. Like the zip line task; the clue clearly said if they got it wrong they had to go back up and do it again but a few teams just stayed at the bottom and kept guessing over and over, and they weren't given any penalty for it.
Don't know what Lily and Yan are so mad about. Got a taste of their own medicine and they don't like it...

It seems like every leg so far, there's been some kind of semi-serious production issues. As for CR1, the only thing I remember raising my eyebrows at was the 3 NELs in a row. If I were BVM or any of the other head honchos at TAR HQ, I'd be a little concerned at what the CR team was doing with the TAR brand..

My stream was the absolute worst its ever been (took nearly two hours to watch the whole episode with the bad stream). Very happy about the NEL for Elena/Tameka as they're in my dream F3 with Matt/Kylie and Mary/Cecilia. Lily's complaining about the U-Turn bugged me a lot. Really loved Lijiang and thought the tasks were all right. Can't wait for next week!

I understand why Lily & Jan were upset, but their reasoning didn't make sense. If one of the front runners is behind you, why wouldn't you U-turn them out of the race? Why would you U-turn someone already in last place? I guess everybody has a different strategy for yields/u-turns.

Also, what was with Sun Bin's sore loser attitude at the pit stop? He didn't seem happy at all. They came in second which is still really good. It did look like he was having problems running as well so it seems his foot isn't fully healed.

I think Lily & Jan's anger with the U-Turn was that they felt that it was done mostly out of revenge.
Mary & Cecilia could have U-Turned the other team that Yielded them, Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er. After a bad start in the first 2 legs, Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er have been powerhouses in legs 3-6 with three 1st place finishes and one 2nd place finish, while Lily & Jan have been a mixed bag.

I'm not saying they can't share answers, but the clue read like it means each time they ride the zip line they get one attempt to get it right. If they are wrong they should go back to the top and ride the zip line again, and then have another attempt at giving the answer, repeating this until they get the answer. The sisters just kept writing different answers and showing them to the guy again and again without re-doing the zip line, until Simon and Katherine came along and the collaborated to get the answer.

One detour was using a traditional bow and arrow of the DongBa people the teams had to score 100 points by hitting the target (it looked like a regular bow and arrow target). Only Tameka & Elena finished this part of the detour. The other detour was carrying things through the DongBa village. First each team member had to load a lot of firewood into traditional basket style backpacks and carry it to one house. Then from that house each team member had to carry a big jug full of alcohol to another place. From there each team member had to carry a drum to the final point of this detour. They had to bang a drum a few times then the guy would give them the clue. Hao Fei Er broke her alcohol jug when she was putting it down at the destination and had to carry another one from the firewood house. Mary also broke her alcohol jug and had to carry another one. Matt was having trouble getting his firewood backpack on and all the firewood fell out so he had to repack it.

I'm a little upset at Mary & Cecilia. A guy told them he knew where the route marker was and they ignored him, and they even told Simon & Katherine that he didn't know where he was going. Then later he drives up in his car and takes them there. Or maybe I'm wrong and I just got confused.

There was another voice-over error this week. Alan's voice-over said Elena and Tameka had to make 20 cake things in the speed bump, but it turned out they only had to make 10. It can't be that difficult to re-record the wrong voice-over can it?

"one team tastes their first win" scares me, it better not be Simon! the only other team that hasn't won yet is Matt and Kylie and the preview for next week episode seems to indicate they do well, so I think they finally win a leg.
As for the "big surprise" I dont know what it is, could be a TBC? who knows.

Go from Lijiang to Qinghai Xunhua city. The task is to go to a hat factory, and get 40 identical muslim hats and trim all the loose threads from the hats, and then pack them into bags for shipping. Sun bin and Fei Er had lots of rejected hats by the looks of it.
Lily and Jan finish first. Next clue: Go to yellow er tomorrow morning, and blow up a lamb hide raft to cross the river, climb up bridge to get clue. Matt & kylie finish second. Fei Er & Sun Bin third, Simon & Katherine fourth then the girls last.
Matt & kylie finish blowing up raft task first, row across the river. Lily and jan second. Sun Bin & Fei Er get taken to the wrong bridge and have to walk back. Matt & Kylie get the next clue first. It's a Detour. :Sun or Bun. In Sun, they have to assemble a solar panel and then get clue if it's assembled correctly. In Bun, they have to wrap 20 traditional sweet dumplings and have them approved. I don't really blame them. In China, it is common for people to give you wrong directions rather than admit that they don't really know. It's sometimes hard to figure out who to believe.

The girls Cecilia and Mary got eliminated this week.
This week's roadblock: Construct 5 characters from traditional Chinese shadow theatre. Each team member had lots of parts of each puppet, and had to put each one together correctly and tie the joints together with string.
This week's detour: Spin it or Stack it. In spin it, the teams had to go to a honey farm, and take 2 honeycombs(?), brush all the bees off then put them in this machine. They then have to turn a handle on the machine to spin the honeycombs around to get the honey. Then they had to fill one jar with honey. All teams except Lily and Jan did this one.
In stack it, the teams had to bale hay into 5 bales, tying each bale with two pieces of rope. They then had to carry the bales across a small river and stack them like the other stacks already there.
Other tasks: The teams had to figure out the ingredients of '8 treasure tea', and the shifu would taste it and check if they had all 8 ingredients. If they got it wrong 3 times in a row, they would have a 15 minute penalty before trying again. Only Matt & Kylie got a penalty but this didn't affect their place.
Before the detour the teams had to go to a monastery and light 6 candles and then the monk would give them the next clue.
After the detour the teams had to go to the Ming great wall remains to get the next clue.

While I am really really disappointed that the girls have been eliminated, I'm really happy and proud of them for making it through 10 legs, only about 10 female teams have made it through double-digit legs (not including double occurences, Dustin and Kandice, Kisha and Jen), and it's all made the more amazing after being yielded twice and barely surviving three legs each with a second-to-last-place finish. They performed strong and left their mark on the race.
It sucked knowing that either Kylie or the girls would be eliminated, it's like choosing between your children, oh well, what happens happens. The race goes on.
Just please don't let Simon make it to the final three, or worse.... I can't even mention it ... ... ... ... ... win *SHRIEK!*
I like Katherine though.
This season has been truly amazing, without needing to leave the country, it really goes to show that the race can be done well without the flashiness of numerous countries, at its heart, it's an adventure, all about the journey, not the destination.

This week's stream was pretty bad. It kept repeating scenes/jumping ahead and was buffering much more than usual.
This week is in Penglai in Shandong
Task 1: Each team member had to eat 2 live sea cucumbers. After finishing the task the team had to go to Yujiale fishing dock to get the next clue the next morning.
Next Task:
Intersection Roadblock
The teams have to go out to marked buoys on fishing boat, haul up fishing nets together until they find the clue.
Fei Er and Lili do the task together
Kylie and Katherine do the task together
Fei Er & Lili find the clue first.
Clue:
Go to a winery to get the next clue
Detour: Find the wine or Count the vine
Count the vine: Count the number of vines in a 5 acre section of the winery.
Find the wine: Go into the cellar of the winery and there will be some wine glasses set up, where each pair of glasses represent a number. Only four numbers are available at the start, then the teams have to use what they know to figure out what 5 pairs of wine glasses set up somewhere else represent, then tell the code to the guy and if it's correct they have to go and find the corresponding barrel number and roll it outside.
Fei Er and Sun Bin decide to do the counting.
Lili and Jan decide to do the code.
Kylie and Katherine find the clue in the nets.
Lili and Jan change detours.
Kylie and Matt arrive and do the code.
Simon & Katherine arrive and do the code.
Sun Bin and Fei Er guess an answer but it's wrong.
Simon & Katherine crack their code, find the barrel and get the clue.
Clue:
Goto Sanxianshan theatre, and dress in traditional Chinese costumes, and the teams must learn a song to play on the musical bell instrument (lots of traditional bells hanging from a pole, kind of like a xylophone). The teams have 10 minutes of practice time then must play the song in unison. If they fail to pass they must wait 15 minutes before trying again.
Jan & Lili change detour again, then crack the code, find the barrel and leave.
Sun Bin and Fei Ee get the answer for vines.
Simon & Kathering fail the bell task first time.
Matt & Kylie crack the code.

Simon hasn't really been annoying for the past few episodes. Do I sense a surprise victory? I'm also glad that the eliminated teams will be at the end. No matter who wins, it will be better than the ending of China Rush 1.
If I'm correct just by watching the preview, the finish line is a few feet away from the start of China Rush 1. Which is odd because the finish line for China Rush 1 is just about a block away from the starting line of this season.

So I've been looking at the possible averages for the three teams (Not counting the faux Pit Stop).
Sun Bin & Hao Fei'er- 2.73, 2.82, 2.91
Lily & Jan- 2.82, 2.91, 3.00
I think they'd be the first team to be U-turned and win.
Simon & Katherine- 4.73, 4.82, 4.91
No matter what place they get, they'll be the fourth lowest average placing team to make it to the final three beating only Lyn & Karlyn, Andrew & Dan, and Aleandra & Marlene. On top of that, they'll break Dan & Jordan or Teri & Ian's record as the lowest average placing winners or 2nd place team respectively.

Great finale. All the tasks were great and intense. It had a satisfying ending. I'm going to say that it's probably one of my favorite finales. It's much better than last season.
Speaking of both seasons of China Rush, did you know that:
Only three teams won legs?
And of those three teams, the team with the least number of wins finished in 5th?
The "old" team finished in 7th place?
The lowest average placing team in the final three only placed in the top two once?
A team has the highest average placement without winning a leg (Sean & Amy and Xiao Long & Lv Meng)?
Oh, by the way, the third leg curse strikes again! :ascared

The best thing that I like about "China Rush" is that they don't try to be like the other versions. They just do their own thing.
I really enjoy the nighttime finishes; having it under the lights brings a special flourish to it, like night football versus day football. I was also really happy to finally see self-driving in mainland China.
It's too bad that it doesn't seem like they'll have a reunion show like last year.

I just finished watching China Rush 2. It felt really repetitive with three legs in a row doing a climbing/rappel and chopping-related tasks. However, it was interesting to note that they made the point of doing those more difficult each time. It was interesting to see the "alliance" component of several teams who were trying to save each other.
I was a bit put-off by an Intersection in the Final 4, although it was interesting to see the 4 girls doing the physical challenge. The wine puzzle was interesting. The views were really nice. U-Turns at the end of a leg are bleh. The memory challenge was OK, but TAR13 and TARLA1 did it much better.
Funny points:
Mary & Cecilia's "THIS IS REVENGE!!!!"
Matt & Kylie vs. the Bees "what are you going to do bees? give us a clue?"
My favorites were Matt & Kylie with their whole giggity giggity "just friends" vibe. Mary proved to be a warrior. Simon & Katherine really shocked me in the finale...where the heck was that spirit during the whole race?
Overall, it was a good Season, three teams dominated, but at least one was a young F/F. I guess it was refreshing to watch two alpha couples, who were very even, battle each other but then make temporary truces to get ahead of everyone else.
