The former tribes have big plans for one castaway who has the potential to change the game. Meanwhile, this same castaway grapples with the decision of whether to make the powerful move, on SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND, Wednesday, April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

ok. some speculation/observations from the episode preview:
Matt gives a strange look when he enters the RI arena. Are the tribes already merged, or is he just surprised that all tribe members are there? If the tribes don't merge until after the duel, Matt is not in the shot when Jeff is throwing Omatepe the new merge buffs.

They are playing that up to make us believe it's going to be a problem. When Matt was walking out to the Arena he looked perfectly normal to me. No limp or anything. I think he will be fine... But I do hope they gave him medical attention if it was that bad...

And oddly enough Jeff kinda makes a point of addressing that in his blog this week.

I think it'd really suck if the challenge really unfortunately involved the feet and Matt would have to lose this duel of all duels. But then, that would mean it's really not meant to be for Matt to go further... Man I already can't wait for the next episode.
And yes, I love this season 'cos it's spoiler-free! Woot!

Yeah... And "grapples with the decision" sounds like Sarita to me. Since she has just been "betrayed" by her tribe, she might be struggling with the decision on whether to flip. Whereas Matt strikes me as someone who would be more willing to stay on his original tribe's side. Plus Matt's foot injury and all... Moan.

Looks like it could be Sarita looking up at the new merged tribe, but then it might be someone else, since it's different from what Sarita was looking like when competing against Matt.

I think that is Sarita leaving Redemption Island. At the same shot, a male with a yellow shirt(Matt) is sitting on the Ometepe side. I could be wrong though

I think that's actually Grant (who's to the right of Philip). Also, IIRC, Sarita "didn't bring her stuff" which means that if it is her, someone gave it to her on her way out. I don't think it's necessary to give her on the way back into the game, but you never know. Question is, if Matt didn't lose, where is he (if not next to the RIC area waiting to be called back into the game)?

I went ahead and did some caps of survivorphoenix's video, so we could see better:
2--I think this is both Sarita and Matt 5- The old stand on pegs...not so good with a hurt foot, really bad luck for Matt. 8-Why do these two look so unhappy? Did Matt just lose? :'( 13-Is this old or are they expanding the shelter? 14-Ashley and Rob strategizing?? 15--Where is this from?? Her hair looks clean, am I nuts or does she have on eyemakeup, and where did the necklace come from? 17, 18--Rob and Natalie looking less than thrilled... is there where Jeff says RI starts all over?

I think Sarita is the one who loses the duel. From the past duels, the loser usually walks in front of the arena like where shes at, and the winner stays at the challenge part(which would be to the right of Ometepe, out of the shot) then Jeff would say go back to camp and stuff but now he says re-enter the game. Also the loser walks that way to burn their buff and walk into the jungle.

Very difficult to see him, but there you go! Although if he wasn't there, very good assessment from Kandace on the method of the RI boot. Add that to the fact that I think the negative looks on everyone's faces wouldn't be so epic with a returning Sarita, and I'd be giving credit to peach & Kandace (and myself ha!) more than I would for VolcanicGlass (http://survivorsucks.com/reply/7075159/S22E08-This-Game-Respects-Big-Moves#reply-7075159). OTOH, information based on research, proof, and evidence is more worth than information based on Bodog or some inside source that can keep the lips sealed.

Well, they started out with 18 castaways.........With the RI elimination this week, they will be down to 12. I could see them using RI for another 6 duels to send the first 6 people to Ponderosa. That would leave 5 in camp and the winner of the last duel, re-entering at F6.

Well, knowing that Matt is coming back in, I venture to say it was Matt?
Given the snippets of conversation Rob had with Matt at the duels Rob witnessed at RI, I think Rob may have decided that Matt would be far more reliable than some of the other members of his pre-merge tribe. Having Matt available as a player again makes it easier for Rob to move to get rid of Phillip; and it makes little sense to send Matt back for another round of challenges at RI from the merge going forward because there would be a good chance that Matt could ride that all the way into the finals.

I am amazed at the eyes of the people at RFF! Great job! After seeing this video clip that clearly shows Matt with the tribe, I saw the same promo during the NCAA basketball championship last night and noticed something interesting... They removed the part where Matt was spotted with the merged tribe! Maybe the survivor people saw RFF!

I loved this episode!!
Phillip and his 7 minute stories! It was funny and annoying. Then I really wanted to have Jeff say Sarita will still be on redemption island and have the next person voted out to come and compete against Sarita.
Then Matt almost about to flip, then decides not to flip and confesses :groan: That was a stupid move and sent him packing!
I think CBS didn't remember what happened when you bring a person back into a game like BB6. IMO, they should have had a tribal switch and bring back a person.

OH. MY. GOSH. This was one heck of an episode. First, Matt gets back into the game. And then in an instant, goodbye Matt. OH GOSH.
While I feel extremely bad for him, I agree that it was dumb of him to tell Rob his switching plans! Hello, that was Rob he was talking to, the ultimate GAMER, not the ultimate forgiver! Oh gosh... I really had hopes of him and Andrea going far but that move of spilling the beans just killed his chances. And I wish he hadn't done that... I guess he's right, he's really not too good at playing the game. He's just too nice and overly honest.
It's impossible for Matt to return to the game again. 6 more duels... And some of those tough guys are gonna get voted off and beat him at the duels. So I guess, goodbye Matt. I'm feeling extremely sad 'cos I really thought that he had a chance to advance further but... He blew it I guess.
Now I have no idea who to root for anymore... =(

I doubt he saw that blindside coming. I thought that not voting for Grant was okay. But what really killed him was his honesty to Rob on how he wanted to flip. That sealed his fate. And I WISH he hadn't done that. Sigh... =(

They should just give Rob the title this season. Seriously.
He played a clean, good game with a huge target behind his back and he showed us how Survivor can be played with style and not just evil cut throat methods.. Rob >>> Russell. :res:

Next episode just might be the double elimination one..........then it would mean 3 at the duel........
