I bet it will be 8/7c. Especially since they are all about the 90 minute premieres and stuff. and Cbs always screws up their TAR site

I bet it will be 8/7c. Especially since they are all about the 90 minute premieres and stuff. and Cbs always screws up their TAR site
That's true...the TAR site is the only source saying that it will start at nine. Besides they already changed it from 10 to 9 so they must be having problems.
-
My money is on 8/7Cen. Has it been confirmed that this will be a 90 minute premier? Could we have a two-hour premier given what the spoilers saw on leg 1? I don't want to say anymore for those who aren't wanting to know any spoilers.
-
Not confirmed for either way. Check the timeline thread for more on one vs two hours though.
-
CTV in Canada has it premiering at 8pm.
CTV confirmed today the competitors for THE AMAZING RACE: UNFINISHED BUSINESS, premiering Sunday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.
-
CBS fixed it:

Oh CBS...you really do need Neobie!!
-
I think they finally got it right!
-
I think they finally got it right!
Yes, no more stacked text or incorrect air times! :yess:
-
Looks like a one hour premiere.... :(
-
Well as we know when they air a TBC over two nights, only the first team is shown and then we get the To Be Continued screen. So there is a possibility that we have a 60 minute premiere with only Mallory checking in and the Cowboys could still be at Manly for all we know at that time and then come back next week for a 60/90 minute finish on the leg??
-
Looks like a one hour premiere.... :(
So it will end with the TBC?

That's my GUESS at the moment.
-
I moved this over to spoilers for the time being since we seem to be slipping in some spoilers here. :ascared
-
My sources say its a 1 hour premier - at least on CTV.
The next dilemma is Feb 27 - when CTV is scheduled to show the Oscars at 8pm. Last year they moved TAR to 7pm but it looks like the "red carpet" show is scheduled for 7. :duno:

I checked the program schedules for my cable service this morning, and it shows the TAR:UB premiere on on CBS on the 20th as one hour. No episode title as of yet.

Agreed!
Sad though.... we have so much to see.
But it does pretty much confirm the idea of Australia as 2 legs, which we knew already...
-
The Futon Critic is now showing a two-hour, two-episode finale on May 8th. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/amazing-race/listings/ (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/amazing-race/listings/) That's a change from yesterday which only showed 11 episodes ending on May 8th.

Wow!! A two hour finale?? Been a while since we had one of THOSE!! We'll see what sticks....
-
That schedule also has us missing April 3 as CBS airs the 46th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.

Me too now...I was meant to be quoting theschnauzers... :res:
-
This is all we are getting from TvGuide. I wonder what they are doing with the title?
-
I should have also mentioned that the TAR show page at The Futon Critic now states there are 12 episodes for season 18 rather than "? ? ?" Knowing how they work, there must have been something out of the network, Bruckheimer, or WRP in the trades that confirmed that information.
-
I agree...
But maybe they just read it here?
I think this is right?
TAR 18 Route:
EP 1 = Sydney (and Manly), Australia
EP 2 = Broken Hill "The Outback" Australia
EP 3 = Tokyo, Japan
EP 4 = Lijiang, China
EP 5 = Kunming, China

EP 7 = Varanasi, India
EP 8 = Vienna, Austria
EP 9 = Liechtenstein & Zermatt, Switzerland

CBS will rebroadcast the premiere of THE AMAZING RACE on Saturday, Feb. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).
-
Yesterday during the commercial break for Survivor, I saw a commercial that said something like they're replaying the first episode of Unfinished Business on Saturday at 8/7c. So I guess this also confirms it? :duno:
-
CBS will rebroadcast the premiere of THE AMAZING RACE on Saturday, Feb. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).
oh,no. Australia's 7 will also broadcast premiere of TAR this Sunday which is Saturday in USA.
Why do I need to watch ep1 so many times?I've already watched it plenty of times on my latpop!!!
wait, i misread it again!
SO, ep 2 will be on Sunday right? I thought they will just rebroadcast ep1 on Sunday!

Yes! Episode 2 on Sunday. Episode 1 will be rebroadcast this Saturday.

TVGuide has a little info about episode 4.
-
yeah, but they have been awful for titles this season.
Cool on the location though! spoiling CBS heee.
-
Well, I look at CBS' early listings info as a confirmation of what we already spoiled, but in a couple of weeks, it will get more interesting, I suspect.

We've missed you!
BK_amazing_race and loverocked also had a hand in finding this title.

It looks as though we could have delays in two weeks:
-
CBS and the NCAA try to schedule that Saturday-Sunday round so that the last games are over before east coast prime time. An extended overtime game, or more accurately a string of them at the same site over that afternoon might cause an overrun but that is more unlikely with the new format and the television contract, which now have four channels (CBS and three cable channels) airing the first week games.
-
The online cable listings for my provider confirm that episode five takes place in Kumning, China ("the capital of Yunnan province") but no episode title.

According to the schedule Sunday March 20th episode should be on time http://www.cbs.com/info/schedule/index.php
-
The online cable listings for my provider confirm that episode five takes place in Kumning, China ("the capital of Yunnan province") but no episode title.
Based on what we know from the TIMELINE, Kunming only serves as a transportation hub (connection from the airport to the train for Lijiang) and in the following episode a second transportation hub (train back to airport).
-
Ep 5 does take place in and around Kunming, it is a whole leg. The Timeline has all the details.
Ep 4 Kunming is a connection point.

Yeah, I think the delays won't be too much of an issue this year. Especially on March 27 (and other Sunday Regional Final Days) where CBS could have an early game that prevents a delay (I have to check the schedule one more time).
Apart from that, the only likely guaranteed delay will be in April for the Masters (the show after the recent annual preemption for Country stuff), and then that's it for the rest of the season.
-
Just a reminder that Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday in the U.S. and Canada.
-
Episode 5 is called "Don't Ruin the Basketball Game"
-
The episode listing on cable for March 27th is "The race continues in Kolkata, West Bengal, India."
Confirms Peach's info above in this thread.
And confirms that TAR 18 has it out for the returning Racers this edition. :)
-
Just in my e-mail from CBS
CBS Eye-lert
An NCAA runover on Sunday, 3/20 could delay start times for 60 Minutes (7pm ET), Amazing Race (8pm ET), Undercover Boss (9pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10pm ET).
If so, you will receive a message on Sunday with exact details of revised start times.
-
I can confirm that 60 Minutes WILL (not could) be delayed for major parts of the East Coast. Here is the NCAA Basketball Tournament picture for CBS telecasts:
U North Carolina just beat Washington at 215pm. The game took 2 hours on the nose.
At 249pm, the first game of the West Region at Charlotte will tip Duke vs. Michigan. Let's assume that it finishes without overtime at 449pm (the probability of finishing much sooner is not high).
That makes the tip time for Ohio State vs. George Mason about 519pm. With a 2 hour game (this one will not be going to overtime), that finishes around 720pm, or 20 minutes late.
-
YAY! :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy:
-
Actual completion time for Duke vs. Michigan was 501pm. Actual tip for Ohio State vs. George Mason was 516pm. My assessment above is still valid. This game is unlikely to finish much before 715pm and 60 Minutes to start before about 720pm.
-
Thanks for keeping us up to date, apskip.
-
CBS Eye-lert says:
Revised start times for tonight's CBS programs: 60 Minutes (7:19pm ET), Amazing Race (8:19pm ET), Undercover Boss (9:19pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10:19pm ET) due to CBS Sports live coverage of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
-
Remember that there will be no show on Sunday April 3 due to the 46th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.
Varanasi delayed>> :'(
-
Was there ever a consensus reached on when TAR 18's finale would be?
Does May 8th seem right?
-
Was there ever a consensus reached on when TAR 18's finale would be?
Does May 8th seem right?
Futon Critic says May 8th. With a two hour show running from 8-10 (EDT).
-
May 8th, Two hour finale.
-
Just realized that TAR is on at 7pm in Canada again this week - March 27th.
CTV is showing the 2011 Juno awards at 8pm. Will Bieber be there?
-
oh crapola. That plays havoc with the game threads, :groan:
Thanks!
-
And we have this heads up from CBS:
An NCAA runover on Sunday, 3/27 could delay start times for 60 Minutes (7pm ET), Amazing Race (8pm ET), Undercover Boss (9pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10pm ET).
If so, you will receive a message on Sunday with exact details of revised start times.

Let's look at the specifics of tomorrow's CBS NCAA games. First tipping off at 220pm is VCU vs. Kansas, which should be a blowout and not likely to have multiple overtimes. At 505pm the tipoff of Kentucky vs. North Carolina is likely to be on-time. This game if there are no overtimes (a distinct possibility given the teams involved) should be over around 720pm and 60 Minutes should start about 725pm. More analysis is really not possible until halftime of that game.

Well, as apskip predicted, the first game is a runaway...........they dont call it March Madness for nuttin........
-
Keep us posted!
-
VCU vs Kansas is now at halftime. The first half took a little over one hour. Probably won't be any overtime.
-
Keep us posted!
Aye, Aye Cptn.......
-
Kansas lost to VCU (the opposite of what I expected) with the game finishing about 440pm. North Carolina/Kentucky did tip at 505 pm, so as I said above we won't know much until halftime to better calibrate finishing time. I am sticking with 60 Minutes start at 725pm until I know something new.
-
Wow, this game is zooming! At 615pm the second half started. That means it will likely finish by 710pm and 60 Minutes start by 715pm.
-
Thanks, apskip! :waves: These updates are very helpful.
-
Fortunately that first game would not have had an impact on the second game's start. Now if UNC/UK goes to OT, that's a problem.
-
15min to go!!!! whooo..... (ctv canada) start early!
-
Kentucky beat North Carolina, ending at 705pm (YAY). 60 Minutes should start around 710pm.
-
Since it's for the Final Four, expect a (brief) post-game show
-
60 Minutes actually started at 7:17 pm. CBS milked commercials for more than 10 minutes!
-
Looks like 8:17 start for TAR
-
This is what CBS says:
Revised start times for tonight's CBS programs: 60 Minutes (7:17pm ET), Amazing Race (8:17pm ET), Undercover Boss (9:17pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10:17pm ET) due to CBS Sports live coverage of the NCAA Basketball Tournament/Regional Final.
-
Do we know this?
Season finale 2 hours may 8th.
-
Yep. I confirmed it a while back and just added it to the Finale thread but this is a better place, so thanks!
-
Peach, Do you know if a 10 year anniversary function is happening that same weekend? I saw where Jodi from TAR 14 tweeted about it.
Wow! The Amazing Race is going to have a 10 year reunion party. I just got the CBS invite a few days ago. Excited to see everyone!
9:37 AM Mar 2nd via Echofon
Survivor did one a year or so ago and it was kind of fun to see pics from the event.

Over here: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/snapple-partners-with-cbs-on-the-amazing-race-118760274.html , it says that the 10 year anniversary party will be held on saturday, may 7th, day before the finale.
-
Thanks a bunch, KacperTolwinski.
In Miami, not New York or Los Angeles. Wow! I hope it's open to the public and lots of photos get posted to the web. I sure would like to see some of the "old" racers again. You know, back when the Race was hard.
-
Yes, I know.
It is a VERY private function limited only to racers....NO guests allowed.
-
I can certainly understand why it'll be a "Racers only" event. 390 people have Raced through this season, and if you include some of the folks who have been with WRP and CBS, you could easily be looking at 500 people at such an event.
-
Nearly 400 stars in 10 years. Never thought it would get to this point in the series, back over half a decade ago!
IMO, I don't see the point of mentioning it to the public & to media outlets. I would have kept this disclosed until after the event (if not very shortly before). Now all that may happen is people who won't be able to understand the meaning of the term "private" trying to get in.
-
Oh my! I hope most of the teams would be available! What a priveleged bunch of people! :hearts: Wow. Season 1 to Season 18. AMAZING.
I would love to see the biggest groupshot ever! :hearts: :hearts:
-
Putting it here because it's the best option available.
My Mediacom program guide, which runs 15 days ahead, confirms that the April 17th episode takes place in Vienna, Austria. As usual, this season, no episode title provided.
-
I hadn't even thought about it until the announcers mentioned it during the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship Game, but the Masters Golf Tournament is this coming weekend. Which means the possibility of a runover. Just a reminder.
-
Episode 8 is called:
I Cannot Deal with your Psycho Behavior (Austria)
-
CBS has sent out an Eye-lert about the possibility of a runover due to the final round of the Masters.
I've read that there is a chance of rain both today and tomorrow, which could push back some of the players for the second and third rounds to complete their rounds to the following mornings; and that could also delay the end of the tournament.
-
If the Masters ending is "normal" on Sunday, my experience has been that with the Butler Cabin baloney it takes until about 710pm unless there is a tie. Augusta is reasonably far west in the Eastern Time Zone and official sunset will be at 756pm Sunday.
Today, Saturday, the third round ended at 702pm and commentary followed.
Here are the rules for a sudden-death playoff: In the event of a tie, the players who are tied will tee off on the 18th hole in a sudden death format. If a player does not emerge as the winner on the 18th hole, the players will go back to the 10th hole for the next sudden-death hole. Players will then move between the 18th and 10th hole until one player is left as the champion.
Let's assume that there is an extended sudden-death playoff (this seldom happens) until 8pm, then 20 minutes of CBS baloney. That puts the start of 60 Minutes at 820pm if by bad fortune that did happen.
-
CBS is planning to air "60 Minutes" so a runover to 8pm would set everything back by an hour.
A runover on Sunday, 4/10 of The Masters/Final Round could delay start times for 60 Minutes (7pm ET), Amazing Race (8pm ET), Undercover Boss (9pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10pm ET).
So we'll have to see what the situation is on Sunday; I'm not speculating beyond that.

I've read that there is a chance of rain both today and tomorrow, which could push back some of the players for the second and third rounds to complete their rounds to the following mornings; and that could also delay the end of the tournament.
Fortunately, there was no rain in Augusta, GA on Saturday and the forecast for Sunday doesn't mention any chance of rain or thunderstorms at all. Just mostly sunny, light winds and a high near 90 degrees (about 32C).
-
Masters Update as last 2-some started hole 10:
The Good News: Play has been moving right along. It took McIlroy and Cabrera 127 minutes to play first 9 holes. That translates into a 655pm finish before Butler Cabin and other baloney.
The Bad News: 3 are tied at the top of the leader board, which increases the possibility of the sudden-death playoff.
-
The traffic jam at the top of the leader board has gotten more complex. There are close to a dozen players who don't need to do much to be in the lead, and four of them are tied for the lead now.
-
It looks very much like Schwartzel from South Africa will win at -13, but if he loses a stroke on the final hole he could finish in a tie with Australians Day and Scott. We will know soon enough and the final group (who cannot tie) are one group behind Schwartzel.
I just watched Schwartzel birdie the 18th, so he wins.
I estimate 60 Minutes at 715pm after Butler Cabin dialogue.
-
60 Minutes started at 712pm EDT.
-
Thanks for keeping us up to date every week apskip! :waves: It's most appreciated!
-
60 Minutes started at 7:12 according to my clock, but I'll post the Eye-lert as soon as I get it.
-
CBS says 11 after the hour:
Revised start times for tonight's CBS programs: 60 Minutes (7:11pm ET), Amazing Race (8:11pm ET), Undercover Boss (9:11pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10:11pm ET) due to CBS Sports live coverage of The Masters/Final Round.
-
Yeah, I got 7:12 as well. Doesn't make a difference, as it'll be 12 minutes for 60 Minutes and 3 more for UB. More importantly, it's the last time TAR is delayed for the remainder of the season.
-
I don't know if anyone posted it but....according to TV Guide leg 9 is going to air 24th of April and it is suppose to be in Liechtenstein.
-
Are you spoiler free? ???
But thanks!!
