This season the show will air on Wednesday and Thursday so make note of the change. Is everyone ready for the new judges and the changes they will bring? I wasn't happy when I heard that Simon wouldn't be coming back but I'm looking forward to see if what I love about AI remains.

Other than that, i think Idol's milking the sob stories for all they can because those are the people who will ultimately make it through and are the people whom America will ultimately root for. A total different approach which i kinda like for a change.
I for one, HATED WATCHING STUPID RIDICULOUS AUDITIONS.
But then again, i know some people enjoyed it.. but i don't care.. i like the change!

Anyway, AI dropped 13% ratings to 26.1million viewers. They better pick up to 30million or don't drop beyond 20million, otherwise this might be the very last season.
With Simon gone, this should be the last season anyway.

I like Steven Tyler as a judge! He sings along with the tune, and when he meets a really good singer, he'll give the biggest emotions and expressions.. but when there's a really bad singer.. he's not too nice about it and speaks his mind too! Very original comments and absolutely hilarious!
I guess Idol ratings will pick up.. the judges are working as a really good combination together and i'm getting used to them already. They seemed to be so season and look as if they have been doing this for ages!!
Randy has always been outshine by Simon in previous seasons, but now.. he has his fair share of fame along with JLo and Steven Tyler and i think he's liking it more and feeling more confident about his judging abilities.
As for JLo, ever so glam.. ever so hilarious.. making the right comments. She owns Paula Abdul any day. Paula's just nice but say nothing else constructive.. but at least JLo does.

She seems too proud for me. So what if you're a White House Intern and a Harvard Student?? It's not like her audition was amazing or what, as compared to other great voices we've heard in other seasons.
I realized what's missing from these auditions.. we're missing memorable auditions.. good and bad ones.. the ones which we'll remember even after many seasons later.

to answer the question on auditions i have friends who have been trew the process and frist u go to the big audition in like nashville or where ever, there they have judges we don't c and thease booths set up u get in a line at the booth or stall with a random person judgeing u, i know a season 6 contestant who got to 4th place , he whent trew this process 3 yrs in a row before he got past it. any way if u get picked frome there u go bk to the city u audition in for a call bk ,and sing for more random judges, if u get trew that round and get another call bk u go to the last round where u go before what we c on tv. u have to where the same clothes for every audition for editing, so it seems like it is all one big day but it is not. i think the whole process takes like 3 or 4 months..

My favourite of the lot -
He is an excellent singer and his audition brought tears to my eyes. I think he will do very well in Hollywood.
They have concentrated on the good singers this year, and as Tory said, there are lots of back stories and many of the ones we've seen so far are 15 and 16. Only a few of the rejectables. :tup:

Looking forward to the season ahead. I just listened to Lee's CD I was so disappointed. Just didn't seem like his style. I've actually for the first time been enjoying the audtions this season.
Steven King is a bit hard to look at, sorry! But I'm slowly adjusting to him. I really like JLo and Randy. They all seem to interact well. I miss Simon a little.
Overall, AI 10 seems to be going good & so far, a lot of great talents are heading for HWood. :hearts:

And never join the show as best friends/couple. Every year AI likes to break them up for some major drama. The previous year was Danny Gokey and friend. Now it's this poor couple.

Which one eragon? There were several screamers last night. I know there was one in the last few groups who ended the song down on his knees. He was forgettable though because I can't even remember his name.

What did y'all think of Jacob Lusk with his song God Bless the Child? I was blown away and brought to tears with his emotional breakdown when he finished. He gave it everything he had. If he doesn't go to the end it will be a horrible shame.

Hayley IMO, was MUCH BETTER than Ashton. I was blown away by Hayley!! Her voice is so unique... Ashton nailed her song. But her voice isn't very distinctive.. i would much prefer Jennifer Hudson's voice..

Yes, you are right, he had to change songs because his song was not on the list for acceptable songs. It's a good thing anyway, he will have to sing a lot of different songs, many of which will not be in his comfort zone.

Can't even recall his name... guess he didn't become famous.) They are bringing excitement and life to AI. And I love that they interact with the singers. :yess:

I totally enjoy how both Steven & Jennifer interact with the contestants and how they are soo expressive and they sing along as well. The making me feel soo impressed with AI's choice! :tup:
I wonder how they will be when we are LIVE and the heartbreaks of each contestant is oh soo much more realistic. I also wonder what their input/guidance will be when it's just America voting to put thru people instead of them.
The shows dynamics are the same but for us and them it's about to seem changed!

Back in 2002, American Idol offered up just one option to vote: calls.
At some point, Idol added texting as an option.
This year? Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe just told me that online voting is going to be added this season. Though a publicist later told me it was not a done deal, Lythgoes exact quote to me was affirmative: We are going to introduce online voting.
He was unsure about the details and whether thered be any limits on the voting online. He did say that there are no plans to limit texts or voice calls. I videotaped the interview, which was rather brief. Ill post it later.

1: Clint Bamboa Lots of energy and screaming. Randy and Steven thought he was brilliant. JLo, jitters didn't affect his performance, she expects a lot from him.
2: Jovany Barreto JLo said she was glad people could see him. Randy didn't like it, said it was just OK. (I don't even remember it.)
3: Jordan Dorsey He sings OMG by Usher. He had a lot of energy but it was not the best song for him. Judges didn't like it either. Randy said it was pitchy and if you are going to sing anybody's song, you will always be judged by that. It isn't a singer's song. He needed to do more because of the song. (It sounds better listening to him on YouTube.)

4: Tim Halpren Hated the song. The judges weren't impressed either, they thought he'd done much better. (Is he gone?)
5: Brett Loewenstern Not his best for me and he got the dreaded red lighting which usually means you're gone. Judges mentioned his hair tossing but Steven liked it, he said he brought it home. Jlo mentioned the hair but liked it, she likes who he is. Randy said he had 14 hair tosses but he's fun and bold, he appreciated that.
(Could be gone, it was a weak performance.)
6: James Durban I don't like the screaming and I don't much like him, but I give it to him! He clearly is going to be a contender. (Lose that tail!)

8: Scotty McCreery Scotty sang "Letters From Home". He is going to be a huge Country star, we're lucky to see the start of his career. Steven said he's going to get a lot of letters from home, it was beautiful. JLo, you are born to sing Country! Randy said you love Country, you are a throwback country guy, love the lowness in your voice.
9: Stefano Langone sang "Just The Way You Are". He got a slow start but when he got into the chorus, he did well. Judges loved him! JLo called him a beast! You're amazing! Randy said that's how you do it! You had us rocking! A real rock star, good, REAL good. Steven Love your voice, loved it man!

12: Casey Abrams LOVED IT! He sang "I Put A Spell On You" and got a standing O from the audience. Steven said he starts out good in his mind, good out of your mind good. Good as it gets Crazy good! JLo said he was sexy. "Sexy Casey! You redefined the whole thing, you took it and ate it all up." Randy said he transformed into the song, so different, so unique.

i think several of the guys bombed! it's bad.. however paul, casey robbie and jacob stoofd out for me. i know im gonna get snowballs thrown at me but james just doesnt do it for me!

Naima can sing too! ♪♪ and I just love her, she's different than other contestants we have seen and even though she may not win i'm happy because it will change her life!

I'm not exactly THAT pleased with the wildcard picks though. I'm extremely happy that Stefano is in, I was totally rooting for him and was disappointed that he didn't get through. THANK GOD for the judges putting him in. His Wildcard performance just brought tears to my eyes. I'm alright with Naima and Ashthon getting through I guess... But I really really hoped that Kendra would get in. I was surprised that she wasn't voted in, and then I was surprised that the judges did not put her in. I feel that she's got loads of potential! But well, I respect the judges' decisions.
I think we could have one of the best Top 13's yet. I'm really amazed by America's vote this time. Sure, there're other talented people who might have deserved a shot as well, but as for who were voted in, I think that America got it absolutely right. And while I'm still sad that Kendra did not make it, everyone else that I was rooting for are in. So... Can't wait for the Finals to kick off! :)

For the guys, i think Stefano, Scotty and James has huge chances of going far. Maybe Casey too... but Casey, is not the type of singer that i like. If they're looking for Taylor Hicks type of winner again... we already have one. :res:

And I feel that I must be one of the rare people who're not fans of either Scotty, Jacob AND Casey, even though I can't deny their talent. I just can't connect with them somehow lol.
I like Lauren and Haley, but I'm not that impressed as of yet. We'll have to see!
I really can't wait for the Top 13 to take the stage!
And I still feel a tinge of sadness that Kendra's not here lol.

and I do believe that Scotty has gotten more confidence with each performance and feeds off of the audience. Which is exactly what a good performer does.
Either way I'm hoping for a fun filled show and not alot of "fluff" :lol3:
