Michael and KevinX Kevin and Michael were added only after a supposed sighting in LAX...they were not on the original spoiler list, and may have been confused with Ron and Christina.
For completeness sake, I will also say there have also been persistent rumors of a non-TAR team from another reality show being included in this race. I hope they are all just rumors... But the names that kept reoccuring were those of Hayden and either Lane or Enzo from BB, and of course, the ubiquitous Russell. :res:X wrong, thank the good stars!!

I am getting a thousand questions...so let me just say this:
Speculation may be the wrong word...but I tend to call/think of everything as spec until we have photographic evidence. :spy:
But to the best of my knowledge this SHOULD BE our TAR 18 cast, except for the question of who are the 2 alternates, and the surprise inclusion of Michael and Kevin.
Could I be wrong? Sure! It has happened before and will again. But hopefully not this time. (http://planetsmilies.net/angel-smiley-5097.gif)
As I said in spec...Kevin and Michael were NOT on my original list. They were however ID'd by someone who saw them in the food court at Tom Bradley. Does that mean they are actually racing?? We don't know that yet, but time will tell!
The other rumor, is just that, a rumor...but as I said, I included it for completeness. Do I really believe it? No.
So I vote we all work hard to confirm or disprove this list...that's what we do!! :hearts:

Nah. I'm sticking with the TAR14: "The Sequel & Friends". LOL!
While I think it's probably the best season out of the entire six, TPTB would lose an argument when it comes to showing favoritism over the other five seasons. Two alternatives fro TAR14 in addition to 5 other teams is not cool, but Mark/Michael is baffling. Steve/Linda, while they struggled like a champ, where nice, respectful, and memorable (in the first two legs). Mark/Michael did nothing for me; all they did was pretty much improve on their ability to break every rule (a record that was since broken by Brent & Caite).
Despite that, it could've been worse: Like going back to TAR6 and choosing five teams from that season!

The feeling I got out of it was that they had tried dating, but found it didn't really work for them, but for the purpose of the show they had to be labeled in simple terms. I think one of their quotes was "It took a TV show for us to say we're dating" (That's probably not word for word)

Must say that there's three teams I'd probably axe, maybe four. (And before anyone starts bitching and moaning at me, in my opinion all stars means they must meet two criteria: 1. They got to the final 5-6 of their season, or they ran at least 50% of the race. 2. They were memorable for a reason, whether positive or negative. Dull players aren't that interesting for all stars.)
Now to my choices of axing: 1. Margie and Luke: Yes, I can see why they've put them in (for the drama with Kisha and Jen and the sentimental factor), but they really irritate me no end. Playing to sentiments isn't also a good idea. 2. Mel and Mike: Who? No, seriously, who are they? I'd have prefered Mark and Michael any day, but alas, bad decisions are made. 3. Amanda and Kris: Errrr.. Pass. Brian and Ericka should have been chosen before some 7th placed nobodies. Which leads me to my next team. 4. Zev & Justin: I don't like to wish evil on anyone, but here's hoping Zev loses his passport getting into a taxi in Cambodia or Vietnam or somewhere like that.
And finally, well, it's semi-related to the topic..
TAR 18 may be filmed in HD, however us poor aussies are forced to watch it in SD, unless we use "other" means. Stuff you Channel 7 for getting rid of your HD channel!!

About the cast...
I, for one, think that the casting of 5 Season 14 teams is not at all a bad idea. It was a very entertaining season with many power teams and had the most physical tasks by far, compared to any other recent season. There is a reason why that was the last season to win an Emmy…The teams chosen, however, are a little surprising. Yes, Luke had a large following, but he also annoyed a lot of people. That's probably why they cast Kisha/Jen (shoving) and Mike/Mel, ("sinister deaf kid") and most importantly Kris/Amanda (blind u-turn) back... And to offset the Anti-Luke league they cast the red heads back. At least they again have someone to hang on to and follow to the end, if Margie is still as competitive... Mike and Mel had a large following and CBS lost over 1.39 million viewers (TAR 14 on Wikipedia) when they were eliminated. = logical choice... The show also lost 450,000 viewers when Christie and Jodi were eliminated! Their last episode had the largest number of viewers, except for the Finale. Interesting that no one has mentioned them. They were a smart and very competitive team who won a leg because of a smart flight decision and then had the bad luck that all the teams had to wait for one train departure time and then had 2 consecutive days of bad directions by a local and a taxi driver who took them an hour out of the way. Christie has to be very disappointed to see the other S14 teams chosen back, but it doesn't help when you have a teammate who now works in casting and hangs out with all the CBS reality people every weekend... (see Facebook) They also seem to not be that good of friends, so a re-race might have had some entertaining moments… Flight Time and Big Easy were entertaining and very competitive physically, as long as there aren't many "think" tasks... Same goes for Kisha and Jen. Kynt and Vyxen ARE the Amazing Race. They are at every function and fundraiser and live for that show, so a good choice as well.
Ron and Christina I am not crazy about. The dad came around during their season and I think they might ba a little boring this coming season. I would have preferred some other team instead. Mallory is entertaining, so good choice, along with her smart dad. Funny, how the new race started a week after they got eliminated from TAR17. The cowboys were definitely a fan favorite and deserve to be there. I don’t think they will have it as easy as in their (pretty lame) season. Zev and Justin were too boring for my taste; I would have rather seen Steve and Linda... Speaking of… As you can tell from their Facebook updates, or lack thereof, Steve and Linda, Mike and Mark, and Brad and Victoria were all cast as alternates… that leaves only Victor and Tammy as the winners, Preston and Jennifer, and the above mentioned Christie and Jodi out of the cast… I would have loved to see a TAR14 V2.0 to see how much luck and skill is really involved.

From the amount of time they were on their previous race, Amanda and Kris appeared to me to be a very competent, capable team. The Blind U-Turn did them no favors, because while they did that other detour task as efficiently as they could, there was no way they were going to be able to luck out and avoid elimination. I think we'll find that they are still a competent, capable team this time around. I think overall, this is actually a more competent cast than TAR 11, even though there are no winners on it; I have to go back and check how many final three teams were on All-Stars versus this season.

Globe team (FT&BE) maybe physically strong & looks entertaining, but however I don't feel so much entertaining with them, & on the contrary with glee team from S17, Connor & Jonathan who is good with thinking (they are princeton graduate) but weak for physical challenge I found they are more likeble & natural entertainer.

I think they checked in and then they took a short rest,they directly took a train back to Sydney(like a rollin pitstop)
So survive first leg:Gary and Mallory,cowboys,flight time and Big easy...others can't figure out... the girl in black hat maybe Kris and Amanda...all 2nd flight teams,except Ron and Chiris.

It looks to me like they are packing away the pitstop (I'm assuming its at the Junction Mine). Teams and crews can been seen in the background.

If you rotate about 180 degrees or so, it has the green fence on one side and the elevated wood building on the right.

This makes a lot of sense......it gets Phil back in Sydney to take that Qantas flight to Toyko last night and to get the eliminated team off to ES.

Nice! I found it QF2295 landed at 7pm yesterday from Broken Hill. Only Rex flies to Broken Hill so this would be it!. Its about a 2 hour flight so that would mean they took off out of BH around 5pm.

Change the video's HD Format from 360quality to 1080HD on youtube...it's much better quality... The blonde at the door on the right, was said that it could be Amanda, but she doesn't have a gold handbag :lol:

No Photo evidence but my source Lance (well done to him :hearts:) was on the scene at Central. Teams started the leg ripping open next clue on the Amazing Race mat at Central. Teams seen counting money etc so it must have been the start of the leg(?):
Teams in order of departure were:

I never understood what Margie and Luke really liked about them. It doesn't seem like these two volatile teams could get along.

And she is a NICE person......Luke is nice too, they showed him at his most frustrating moments, as they do all of the racers, these people I know and they are nice. As for Cara, she is a wonderful person I know her well and yes I know Jaime too. You all may want to meet these people when you get a chance...she is a hard working person who really never tells anyone off, she doesnt say anything bad in REAL LIFE. You are wrong about them, you have only seen "what sells" and lack of food and sleep on all the above people. This is a reality show, and I suppose there has to be the "bad guys and good guys". While it is true that I may treat these people differently in real life, all we have to go by is the way they acted on the show. It is possible that they are just reacting to a lot of stress which would be understandable. The problem with the common "editing complaint" is that no matter what parts are chosen to be shown, the person still chose to do or say whatever they did. I believe that no amount of editing could make some people look as annoying as this because they do not choose to act like that. The image of a person or team is at least partially decided by the way they chose to act in front of the camera. The reason why some teams (several come to mind) are not thought of this way is because they did not create any drama, if they did we would have seen it. The editors can only work with what material they have and that material is created by the team.

You all may want to meet these people when you get a chance...she is a hard working person who really never tells anyone off, she doesnt say anything bad in REAL LIFE.
Call the Vatican. Do you live inside Jaime's pocket 24 hours a day? How do you know that she NEVER tells anyone off? I distinctly remember her yelling at a police officer in a foreign country for DARING to speak to somebody who wasn't her.
We all say bad things in real life. Sometimes when we're tired and cranky, we lash out at people. MOST of us tend to feel bad about it and apologize or show any sign whatsoever of this being an exception to the rule and not the cornerstone of our characters. Jaime has not shown herself to be one of those people. What she has shown though was that she is an Ugly American who will whine and whine and whine about the people of the world not speaking English in order to help her win a million dollars. I find that to be very telling of her character and not an editing trick. Also very telling was Cara's obvious embarrassment caused by Jaime's inexcusable behavior. I was always on the Free Cara! camp because I remember her as being the normal, decent, nice racer who had to take time off from law school to race (I respect and admire her for that because I love the Race and would make any sacrifices to be on it as well) who was stuck with a xenophobic bully.

Guys, don't judge a person based on their personalities in the race. It's almost always edited to make it more full of drama than it usually is. Now, you can criticize their actions, but that doesn't mean they act like that in real life. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
Which is why I will give every single team on this race a second chance. A lot of TAR 11's teams were much more different from their original seasons.

Guys and Gals
Editing can really make a very strong and on occasion impression on teams. Editing as taken words that were spoken in one lace and be used in another, words can be edited to remove some context, and events can be completely misrepresented all due to editing.
And while the editors of Tar aren't as bad as many reality shows everything mentioned above has occurred on this show.
Editors pick and choose what material to use, the pick words that and edit full statements to give an impression that may not actually represent fact.
Of course some events absolutely happen, but just like almost every single person in the World most everyone living has said or done things they regret, usually when under stress or duress. Frankly a lot of the stress the racers are on are harder then the typical life we are experiencing. And we need to understand that when we judge racers.
Here is an example of editing events to give a negative impression on two racers, that clips should was absolutely inaccurate, but most viewers never watch the clips and some of these eventss are still quote by internet fans who absolutely should know better.
Peter & Sarah in season 10, we see on the episodes al these tasks that Sarah is doing and wondering why the hell Peter isn't doing those, the episodes make it appear that Peter chooses the tasks and we see him setting back while poor Sarah is trying to scale a cliff, or other difficult challenge. Yet clips (and back up by Sarah in multiple interviews) says she was the one to choose which tasks she did, and it just happened that she made poor choices dues on the Roadblock. Peter was absolutely innocent in this, and yet editing reinforces the negative attitude we have on how he isn't emotionally connected to Sarah as Sarah is to him.
Season 11 Eric and Danielle, and many fans were already pissed about this team (I wasn't happy about Danielle, had no problem with Eric being there as his team absolutely deserved it on a season called the best of the best). All season long we see Danielle doing more physical roadblocks then the ones Eric does, we even see Danielle get angry about this very subject, and the show goes out of its way to imply that Eric is the one calling the shots on tasks. Yet in clips (with the exception of two roadblocks one of which we never saw), its Danielle who makes the calls and then blames him for it (but again we don't see where it is her fault on choosing to do a task. Editing is used to complete alter what factors led to the roadblock tasks and is used to portray the male partner in a negative light.
Another example Eric & Jeremy season 99 after being complete asses (which they show) by canceling the cabs of two other teams, are shown by editing to let Monica & Joseph take the blame for that event. Which then leads to a U-Turn by BJ & Tyler against Mojo. Yet this is not what happened. In clips we see Eric & Jeremy go to both teams and freely admit that they were the ones to cancel cabs not Monica & Joseph. It showed them make a really ****ty move (which it was and the one thing they did that really pissed this fan off), but instead of showing them man up and put take the responsibility for their actions editing makes it appear like not only that they did something ****ty, but even worse let another take the blame for it. Instead of just showing that BJ & Tyler and Monica & Joseph didn't get along that well (true) they tried to place the origins of that conflict on the shoulders of another team.
Those are just three easy examples of how the editing of the show misleads the public about conflict and events that occur. And thankfully we had clips to show what really occurred.

The other thing to remember is that especially for events we don't see occur that often, that those rare events even if they occurred exactly how we saw and heard them are probably not representative of how that person actually behaves. Look at last season's winners and Daniel who really loses it on one cab driver. Its a really shocking moment, because its so not how we have scene that racers handle stress and events. SOme fans where utterly appalled by the behavior, personally I wasn't as we only saw that occur once and we saw so many other times of Daniel behaving in such a kind and nice manner. And almost all racers (especially those that have raced for many legs) have lost it in some manner when dealing with the frustration of language barriers. It doesn't make his reactions right, but it certainly makes in understandable.

Editing can really make a very strong and on occasion impression on teams. Editing as taken words that were spoken in one lace and be used in another, words can be edited to remove some context, and events can be completely misrepresented all due to editing.
And while the editors of Tar aren't as bad as many reality shows everything mentioned above has occurred on this show.
Editors pick and choose what material to use, the pick words that and edit full statements to give an impression that may not actually represent fact.
Of course some events absolutely happen, but just like almost every single person in the World most everyone living has said or done things they regret, usually when under stress or duress. Frankly a lot of the stress the racers are on are harder then the typical life we are experiencing. And we need to understand that when we judge racers.
Here is an example of editing events to give a negative impression on two racers, that clips should was absolutely inaccurate, but most viewers never watch the clips and some of these eventss are still quote by internet fans who absolutely should know better.
Peter & Sarah in season 10, we see on the episodes al these tasks that Sarah is doing and wondering why the hell Peter isn't doing those, the episodes make it appear that Peter chooses the tasks and we see him setting back while poor Sarah is trying to scale a cliff, or other difficult challenge. Yet clips (and back up by Sarah in multiple interviews) says she was the one to choose which tasks she did, and it just happened that she made poor choices dues on the Roadblock. Peter was absolutely innocent in this, and yet editing reinforces the negative attitude we have on how he isn't emotionally connected to Sarah as Sarah is to him.
Season 11 Eric and Danielle, and many fans were already pissed about this team (I wasn't happy about Danielle, had no problem with Eric being there as his team absolutely deserved it on a season called the best of the best). All season long we see Danielle doing more physical roadblocks then the ones Eric does, we even see Danielle get angry about this very subject, and the show goes out of its way to imply that Eric is the one calling the shots on tasks. Yet in clips (with the exception of two roadblocks one of which we never saw), its Danielle who makes the calls and then blames him for it (but again we don't see where it is her fault on choosing to do a task. Editing is used to complete alter what factors led to the roadblock tasks and is used to portray the male partner in a negative light.
Another example Eric & Jeremy season 99 after being complete asses (which they show) by canceling the cabs of two other teams, are shown by editing to let Monica & Joseph take the blame for that event. Which then leads to a U-Turn by BJ & Tyler against Mojo. Yet this is not what happened. In clips we see Eric & Jeremy go to both teams and freely admit that they were the ones to cancel cabs not Monica & Joseph. It showed them make a really ****ty move (which it was and the one thing they did that really pissed this fan off), but instead of showing them man up and put take the responsibility for their actions editing makes it appear like not only that they did something ****ty, but even worse let another take the blame for it. Instead of just showing that BJ & Tyler and Monica & Joseph didn't get along that well (true) they tried to place the origins of that conflict on the shoulders of another team.
Those are just three easy examples of how the editing of the show misleads the public about conflict and events that occur. And thankfully we had clips to show what really occurred.

I think the "2 pink dyed hair girls" could be Jaime/Cara. I don't think it's Kynt/Vyxsin; it's understandable that someone could possibly mistake Kynt for a girl but last time I checked his hair is completely black, isn't it?

It is true that the Globetrotters lack mental abilities.
Lol,I quite liked the globetrotters!I think it was mainly because they were entertaining to watch and I can't recall them being anything but optimistic. I didn't agree with the way they gave up or how they kept telling Mica(sp) to give up, but other than that I didn't really have anything against them.

I liked Mel and Mike, I tend to have a soft spot for fellow fans, but this one happens to work in Hollywood, it's not like he's THAT far away from the Race that it's a once in a lifetime dream, so I'm not that broken up about them exiting in the second leg.
I tend to love westward racing, even more so now that it brought Jaime back to Asia and China in particular right off the bat. Mwahahahaha.
The one hybrid team I wouldn't mind would be Vicky/Cara. Vicky would rock the physical tasks with her awesome athleticism and she's competitive without being a jerk while Cara would bring her travel savvy and her brains to Vicky's brawn. And all of that without being yelled at and/or berated by a bully. I could root for that team.

No one knows but I would assume the Finale being somewhere on the East or South coast of the US since they are coming from the East... My guess would be Jamaica or Mexico (again).

They were likeable IMO. The reason why "some" people dislike them was because on how Jaime is treating taxi drivers especially in CHINA :lol:. But Cara is very likeable! :hearts: Anyway, I love them both! :hearts:

I don't think it's wise to name call other members. IMO, the rivalry between Margie\Luke and Kisha\Jen was mutual.
Agreed. You do have to remember that some of the racers do post on here- like Luke.

Just a little observation, of the TAR 14 teams in TAR 18, all of them were standing to the left of the run, up to the Finish Line mat.

Ugh. So CBS have decided to mislead everyone and feature teams in the promo for the upcoming season that haven't been reported to be racing. With Brook and Clarie taking the majority of the airtime.

I thought they would. I actually have read an article now where people are excited to see Brook & Claire back. Of course I had to break the news to them that its not true.

I thought they would. I actually have read an article now where people are excited to see Brook & Claire back. Of course I had to break the news to them that its not true.
Yeah, this pretty much reminds me of what happened 4 years ago with Ken/Gerard & Jon/Al. Pretty much both seasons were in the middle of taping during the finale of the preceding season. Therefore, they really couldn't show anything from the All-Star seasons (if they wanted to and didn't feel the need to "tease" the home audience). It wasn't like for TAR7 & TAR9 (during the Rob/Amber & return of the teams-of-two race) where they showed clips of the upcoming season, as both those races had ended prior to the AR6 & AR8 finales, respectively.
Anyway, the fact that they showed us racers that aren't on the season was typical. However, like in 2006, I'm not saying a word to those that think certain racers will be on TAR18. I don't think it's as bad as last time where some of those most popular teams were not chosen but they ended up in the post-TAR10 clip anyway.

Well, they threw in at least one shot of about 26 teams (if I counted right), so it seems pretty clear that not all of them would be in Season 18. Although I agree with you that Brook and Claire got most of the airtime...but I think CBS had wanted them on S18 anyway.

I went out to check on the rumored "something" in this week's Entertainment Weekly
...............and got exactly ONE line.
In the 2011 Premieres section, there was a sidebar called "Also Returning"
