Title: TAR 17: Nat Strand and Kat Chang -- Doctors/Friends
Post by: georgiapeach on September 01, 2010, 08:48:08 AM
Nat and Kat

Doctors/Friends

Nat Strand

Age: 31

Hometown: Scottsdale, Ariz.

Connection to your Teammate: Friend

Current occupation: Doctor

Favorite hobbies: Scuba diving, skiing and traveling

Achievements: Becoming a doctor

Lifelong to do list: Cage dive with great white sharks, take pilot lessons, finish a triathlon, establish a comprehensive pain rehabilitation center, write a book and learn how to speak Spanish.

What scares you most about traveling? Not having access to medical care

What excites you most about traveling? Traveling will give me the opportunity to see new places, learn about different cultures and grow as a person

If I could switch places with someone: The Dalai Lama or Heidi Klum

Role model/hero: My Dad. He is the kindest person I know.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about helping people live the best possible life.

What would you do if you won the million dollars? If we were to win the million dollars, I would donate money to support challenged athletes and to support the search for a cure for Diabetes. I would pay off my debts from medical school and I would buy a baby blue vintage Bronco with the top chopped off.

People would be surprised to learn: I am absolutely terrified of heights.

Favorite place you have ever visited: Belize

Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on the Race together: We went to get our backpack for the Race and we could not find Kat's car in the parking garage afterwards. We were in the completely wrong parking structure. Navigation might be our biggest challenge.

What do you hope to accomplish by running the Race (other then winning one million bucks)? I hope to gain personal satisfaction from traveling, meet new people and represent strong, career oriented females.

Pet peeve about your teammate: Kat is so perfect! I don't have a pet peeve.

Kat Chang

Age: 35

Hometown: Santa Monica, Calif.

Connection to your Teammate: Friend

Current occupation: Doctor

Favorite hobbies: Cycling, traveling and eating

Achievements: The biggest achievement for me was completing medical school and residency – both of which did not come easy for me.

Lifelong to do list: Learn to scuba dive, surf and cook; have a rewarding career where I am proud of my work; live a healthy and balanced life; have a loving family; run the New York City marathon; remember to live in the present

What scares you most about traveling? Getting sick

What excites you most about traveling? Meeting new people and seeing/experiencing new things – that makes me reflect and learn something new about myself.

If I could switch places with someone: Maybe only for one day, I would switch with a comedian like Chelsea Handler. She's hysterical and what a great skill to be able to make an entire room erupt in laughter.

Role model/hero: I'm inspired by a lot of people -- especially strong, successful women. Thanks to all the female physicians before who paved the way for my generation of doctors.

What are you passionate about? Travel, love and good food

What would you do if you won the million dollars? Donate to charity, pay off part of my medical school loans and bring some loved ones on a sweet vacation

People would be surprised to learn: I'm very sensitive and emotional.

Favorite place you have ever visited: Bali

Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on the Race together: Having to adjust to not being in control of our daily schedules

What do you hope to accomplish by running the Race (other then winning one million bucks)? I hope to have a fun adventure. One million dollars would also help make a huge dent in my enormous student loans.

Pet peeve about your teammate: She tends to show up late for things (fashionably of course).

This team is one of my early favorites.  I really like their chemistry together, they are smart, should be able to handle killer fatigue, and like to laugh.  I also really like the fact that these 2 very pretty women never mentioned their looks once!

I'm disappointed that Kat likes someone like Chelsea Handler, who constantly insults Asian people on and off her TV show.

If Kat turns out to be a (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/Smileys/classic/casey.gif), then my appreciation for Tammy & Victor will grow even greater.

Type I diabetes is childhood diabetes......a lifelong condition. People are not normally known to be very athletic with this condition. It involves a lot of close monitoring of blood sugars and careful use of insulin to control those blood sugars.

*I am NOT a medical doctor and I DONT play one of TV either. I also DID NOT sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night. So take my layman's explanation with what it cost you to get it.*

Nat & Kat were my favorite team after I learned that Kat is Asian American, and now that I've seen them over five episodes, they may well be my favorite all-female team as well as my favorite team this season.  I think what I like most about them is that they don't really panic or stress out that much if they fall behind and they are able to overcome obstacles -- Nat has Type 1 diabetes and is scared of heights and yet she went up a gondola (and a chair lift), while Kat is a vegetarian who was able to do a meat-eating Fast-Forward -- and a gross food one, at that!  That takes guts!  I hope they win!

One of my favorite teams ever!

My best friend doesn't watch TAR even though I keep telling her how she's part of my TAR Dreamteam and I always watch TAR imagining I'm racing with her, I always tell her what Roadblocks she'd do and which ones I'd have to do because she's scared of heights, etc. But. I showed her a clip of Nat/Kat and I think I'm finally getting her to watch instead of hearing my Imaginary TAR version.

Nat and Kat are about as close I've ever come to being on the Race. Well... we're not doctors. And we don't run marathons... My best friend is about as athletic as Kat, but I'm not. Other than that... :p Nat reminds me so much of my Imaginary TAR partner, it's unreal. They look alike, they're both dorky and sweet, they're both scared of heights, both smart and resilient and supportive. So hey, we can't be the first all-female team to win TAR, but I hope Nat and Kat do it! *fingers crossed*

I love these two!!

They carry themselves with class, don't lose their tempers easily and are always kind to each other. Some people say they are a boring team but I don't think teams that squabble all day long necessarily make for great TV too. :) Hope these 2 ladies win the million!!!

I was just thinking, Gene Simmons calls himself Dr in a Doctor Pepper commercial and he's not a doctor..

I love Nat and Kat.

My favorite thing about them is that they do what they have to do, even if they don't want to do it. Kat eats the meat, even though she's a vegetarian and hasn't eaten meat for twenty years. Kat gets into the gondola, even though she is deathly afraid of heights (unlike Mika, ugh.)

And, when Chad wasn't very nice to her in the last leg, she was always really polite and they're both great sports.

Actually, it was Nat who was afraid of heights, not Kat.  That's why Kat did the Roadblock in Oman.

I just hope an FF team wins this.

Nat and Kat are the best team (IMHO) of the race. However, I also love Brooke and Claire so much. They have given everything for the race (I just laughed a lot when seeing Brooke dancing in Hong Kong's restaurant, or just hitting the wood thing in the US Army Camp in south Korea). I believe that the 4 females remaining are awesome, and the other one (Jill), IMHO, doesn't deserve the win. Having a boy in your team makes the prize more prizeworthy for the other teams, I think.

Best of luck, doctors and B/C!

I am tired of reading people say they shouldn't win because they don't need the money. This is also being said about Brook and Claire. There is nothing wrong with supporting Thomas and Jill but the reason for them winning should not be based on how much money they make as opposed to the two women teams. Nat and Kat got loans. Going to medical school is not cheap. It's not like they've been practicing for 20 years and are making so much money. Also they are both looking to do something altruistic with their money as well.

Jill was carrying a Prada makeup bag with her that they left in a car somewhere; my guess is Boston or England. It's not like Prada is cheap, unless it was a knockoff. So I doubt she and Thomas are struggling.

I agree with you.  Going to medical school is not cheap, and Nat & Kat could probably use the money to pay their bills, at least.  Brook & Claire might not need the money, but Nat & Kat do!

Claire is going to have a baby, children are not cheap to raise in America. I read somewhere that in America it costs US$200,000 to raise a child to age 18, and then what about college?

Amazing Race is not a grant or scholarship, so contestants' financial situation don't have anything to do with how much they 'deserve' to win the million.

That being said, I root for Nat/Kat because they're competent & drama-free  :cmas9

Well, the TAR producers should be happy!  Nat & Kat were strong, smart, very nice and tough when they needed to be (remember Kat eating that sheep head?)  As I said before, the doctors are possibly the best all-female representatives of the six all-female teams that made the Final 3.  Bravo to the TAR producers for casting them!

I'm a hundred percent with you on that! My favourite all-female team has been Dustin and Kandice all this while, until Nat and Kat came along. This duo is unbelievable. I'm just in awe how they've NEVER gotten irritated with each other or with anyone or anything at all. I'm not talking about flaring up here, I'm talking about just a tint of irritation, which has never been present in these two. It's just amazing, considering how stressful the race is and how they've been living together 24/7 for 3 weeks. Love love love Nat and Kat to death!

I know how much emphasis they put on Kat eating up that sheep head for the FF. But i honestly don't think we should remember them for just that FF as the only memorable moment they had.

We should remember them for how they won the race, they completely owned the last leg. :cmaslol

And of course, how they won the Russia leg when EVERY SINGLE team made a mistake (or race just too slow) and they just breezed through and came in first. And the many times they remained calm and positive and raced SO WELL. :kisses

I totally agree.  We should remember Nat & Kat as much for how they owned the last leg -- and for their many smart moves -- as for Kat's eating the sheep head to gain the FF!

Catching up on all the interviews... liked this one!

Amazing Race' winners talk sheep heads, diabetes, and never getting angry at each other, EVER
by Darren Franich

Nat Strand and Kat Chang are two of the most adorably non-dramatic reality show contestants ever. The 17th season of Amazing Race had its fair share of squabbling couples (Nick and Vicki! Chad and Stephanie!) and passive-aggressive travel shenanigans, but the team of doctors made an inspirational portrait of courageous amiability under fire. Throw in the fact that Nat’s a diabetic with a fear of heights, and that vegetarian Kat had to devour a gloriously weird-looking sheep’s head in Norway, and you’re left with only one conclusion: These women deserved to win. (Read the full season finale recap here.) We caught up with the conquering heroines to get some clarification (why’d they fly to Dubai?) and ask the important question: Yeesh, do these women ever get angry?

Entertainment Weekly: Congrats on being the first ever all-woman team to win Amazing Race!
Kat: We’re still getting used to the title!
Nat: Even if it wasn’t us, we would’ve loved for any of the other girl-girl teams to win. We’re absolutely elated, and very honored, that we’re the lucky team that gets to carry that title.

You two never finished last, but you did have a couple of second-to-last-place legs. What was the low point?
Nat: Definitely the Oman leg. We had a map that was incorrect — we had the same map that Gary and Mallory had — and it took us to the wrong side of the entire mountain range. We got to the first clue six hours behind the other teams. Not only were we that much more exhausted, because our leg was hours longer than the other teams. When we got released the next day, we didn’t have time to catch the flight, so we called the airport on the way, and they were like, “Sorry.” We were gonna get to Bangladesh the next day. That’s why you saw us hop on a flight to Dubai.

You were just trying to get out of Oman, basically?
Kat: We looked up flights really quickly online, and there weren’t that many flights leaving Oman that evening. Our other option was to fly to Dubai.
Nat: What they didn’t show [on TV] is that we actually stopped by a hotel and looked up a bunch of flights. We knew that if we just bought the tickets at the airport, we would’ve basically been the Nick and Vicki.

From what we saw at home, it seems like the contestants got along well. In particular, you two seemed to really bond with Brook and Claire.
Kat: One of the best parts of the race was hanging out with all the other Racers, when you have those rare moments of down time. Like in the airports where you’re waiting for your flight to take off…
Nat: The slumber party in Oman!
Kat: The stinking shoes in the train! Just to get away from the actual stress of the race for just a second.

Did you have very much down time? How much sleep did you actually get?
Nat: We got so little sleep it was amazing. That was one of the big shockers for me. You’d get a clue, and go to the airport and often travel overnight to the next place.
Kat: Even when you’re on a plane, you’re always working. You’re talking to the other teams, you’re talking to some of the locals that might be flying to where you’re going, trying to get more information, you’re talking to the flight attendants.
Nat: You sleep every other night. And those pit stops are short! Say you have a 10-hour pit stop. By the time you check-in, and you do your post-interviews, you may be in the hotel room for only about seven hours. Well, what are you gonna do in your seven hours? You probably want to rinse out your clothes and dry them…
Kat: Or take a shower for the first time in three days.
Nat: So you’re probably sleeping like four or five hours. It was grueling.

With your jobs, you’re sort of adjusted to getting by without much sleep, right?
Kat: We’re used to still pushing through, even when we are tired. Obviously, with our jobs, you can’t just say, “I’m tired, I have to go take a nap now.” There’s patients you have to take care of. We’re used to being able to focus and getting stuff done.

Kat, which was harder: Eating the sheep’s head or trying to sell sunglasses in Ghana?
Kat: [Laughs] I think it was the sunglasses! Nat and I both feel pretty confident about tasks that are in our control. With the eating task, it was just a matter of getting it down and finishing it. With the sunglasses, I not only had to rely on my lack of sunglasses-selling ability, but also depend on who was walking by. Or if they even had the money to buy sunglasses.

Had you made peace with the fact that, at some point in the race, you’d have to eat meat? Or were you hoping that wouldn’t happen?
Kat: Well, I was hoping it was going to be a roadblock that Nat could perform. But obviously, we’re very familiar with the race. I think I was already mentally prepared going into the race that, if it was going to happen, I was going to do it. Or at least I was going to try my best.

You couldn’t have anticipated that it was going to be the grotesque head of a dead sheep.
Kat: No, that was really something special! [Laughs] Not only was it the head, it was the eyeballs, the tongue, the ears, cartilage, all of it.

Nat, on your bio at CBS.com, when asked, “What is your pet peeve about your partner?” your answer was, “Kat is so perfect! I don’t have a pet peeve.” So, I have to ask: Do you ever get angry, at all?
Nat: Not really. I’m a pretty happy person, and I just — I feel really blessed. You guys have watched Kat. She’s smart, she’s fit, she’s responsible, she’s a good friend. I really don’t have any pet peeves about Kat! I guess I could’ve made one up! I have a pet peeve now: Her hair always looks better than mine.
Kat: Well, that’s not that hard![Laughs]

Has it been strange watching the show play out on television?
Kat: What’s been most interesting is seeing the interactions of the other teams, since we actually didn’t see them while we were racing. We had no idea how bad the watermelon shot was, until we saw it just like every body else did.

Nat, was it hard watching the heights challenges again?
Nat: It was kind of fun [watching the bungee drop] last night! My heart started beating faster when they did those overhead shots. It’s so sweet, that moment right before they dropped us, when Kat reached out and held my hand because she knew I was terrified. It kind of reminds me of all the challenges that we faced together, and how it just strengthened our friendship even more.

You knew each other from UCLA, right?
Kat: Nat and I did our residency training at UCLA. We spent many hours, many holidays –
Nat: — many nights and weekends…
Kat: Many everything together. So that’s how we pretty much became friends.

Any plans for spending the money?
Nat: We have to do some necessary things, like paying back the student loans from medical school. I think we’d both love to donate to a cause. For me, diabetes research is a big thing. We’ve talked about maybe something for challenged athletes. We definitely want to donate something to a cause. And I think keep a little bit for us, to probably take a couple more trips. [Laughs]
Kat: We’ve got the travel bug now!

Had you two traveled very much before the race?
Kat: Nat and I have been very fortunate, and we’ve actually traveled a lot. It’s not something that we told the other racers! [Laughs] It’s one of our favorite things to do. It’s one of our passions. That’s one of the reasons we love watching The Amazing Race.

Had you been to any of the countries that you visited on the race?
Nat: I had studied abroad at Oxford in undergraduate school, so I actually lived in England for a few months. Everywhere else on the race was brand new for me.

Where was your favorite place?
Nat: Sweden. I absolutely loved it.
Kat: It’s her homeland, that’s why!
Nat: It was our first win, and Kat and I just had a great leg, so for several reasons, I really loved Sweden.

Kat, what about you?
Kat: For me, I think it was actually St. Petersburg. It was so amazingly, stunningly beautiful. One of the great things was that we did that whole leg where we were predominantly on foot, so we really got to see a lot more of it, so I remember it so vividly.

Nat, we didn’t see that much of your daily life living with diabetes on the race. Was it difficult?
Nat: It was definitely a challenge. Little things, like, how do you store a month’s worth of diabetic supplies? I change out my pump every two or three days. Insulin has to stay cold, so how do you carry insulin around in Ghana and Oman, and keep it from overheating? How do you carry enough snacks for a month? You know, if I get low blood sugar, I need to get sugar right away and eat, and sometimes you’re doing a leg for 16 hours with no food, my blood sugar would get really high. If my pump setting are time-set in Los Angeles, then when you’re in England, you’re reversed: When you’re normally sleeping, you’re awake! Even when we were trying to get a few hours of sleep, my pump would be alarming, and beeping, and it would need to be changed, it would need a new battery, my blood sugar was too high… [Laughs] All these kind of nitpicky little things that just take mental energy.

Would you come back for a future All-Stars edition if the offer was on the table?
Nat: In a New York minute!
Kat: We loved every second of it. We had a blast. We would definitely do it again.

Having finally managed to view the (no longer region locked) additional clips of Nat and Kat, I'd like to add my praise and admiration for the way our two heroines personified mutual respect and admiration whilst competing - and winning! - in such a classy manner.

My own admiration is based on the fact that I travel a lot internationally for work - and can I tell you that jetlag can be a pain in the butt? The way our two wonder women dealt with their infamous Ghanian taxi driver just makes me want to ask them for their travel advice....I'd surely listen. Personally, I'd have been tempted to strangle him!!!

Finally, does anyone know if Nat has been approached by the American Diabetes Association? If she hasn't, she should be....talk about having a superb role model. I sincerely hope that somehow she is contacted by them.

Thank you Kat and Nat (just for a change) for being such wondereful winners - you have provided so many with so much pleasure.

Good thing is that they learned it when they get back to the US solving the Sancho Panza's Master.  Maybe because the Ghanian Taxi Driver wants to have a nice boundery for him to stop driving.  LOL!

Nat and Kat are doing the Amazing Race esque Reality Rally this year along with Brook, Jill and Thomas and some others from previous seasons as well as people from other reality shows including Survivor. The event will be held in Temecula, CA and I it is from April 15th-17th. This is a fundraiser for Michelle's Place which is a resource center for women dealing with breast cancer. I had never heard of this event so I don't know how often it occurs. You can donate to any reality racer you want and if you're interested in racing they have everything you would need on the website about how to race if you want. I saw this on Nat and Kat's Facebook page and am just passing it along.

Once I googled Chelsie Hightower's photo, the caption in this photo was even funnier to me.

Not Nat and Kat, but this female team seemed to be one of the brightest teams ever, but also made one of the biggest bonehead mistakes ever.

News about Nat and Kat:

Quote
From dog sledding in the Arctic Circle to rappelling down a canyon in Oman, the CBS reality-television competition The Amazing Race is no easy challenge for anyone -- especially someone living with diabetes. "Honestly, I figured, 'If I can do this, I can do anything,'" competition winner Nat Strand tells Diabetes Forecast, the consumer magazine of the American Diabetes Association. The May issue features an interview with Strand and her best friend and Race partner, Kat Chang, about their amazing experience on the show, being the first all-female team to win, and managing Strand's type 1 diabetes along the way.

Strand and Chang, who are both physicians, had to take a true team approach to everything they did -- both packed some of Strand's diabetes supplies, both got accustomed to losing sleep to alarms from Strand's insulin pump, and both had to stay on top of the competition's challenges while also keeping an eye out for Strand's symptoms of hypoglycemia (also known as low blood glucose or low blood sugar).

They went around the world in 23 days, facing both extreme challenges and cultural surprises that can have an impact on diabetes management. For example, how much insulin do you take for a meal of boiled sheep's head? That's not something Strand had discussed during her extensive planning sessions with her health care team. "I just gritted my teeth and hoped that since it was protein, it was low-carb," she tells Diabetes Forecast.

The May issue of Diabetes Forecast also includes these features and information-filled articles:

Dreaming of a Healthy Tomorrow: Did you know that people who don't get enough sleep are at a higher risk for many health problems, including type 2 diabetes? Read new evidence on the connections between lack of sleep and type 2 diabetes -- and tips on how to get a better night's rest.

"Kids, I Have Diabetes": It's important to talk to your children about your diabetes, but that doesn't mean that it's easy. Diabetes Forecast offers expert advice for every situation, whether you're newly diagnosed or not, no matter what your "in case of emergency" protocol, or how old your children are. An honest conversation stressing that diabetes is a manageable disease can prevent needless fear in a child.

Treat Yourself Right: Cooking for one may seem like a lot of trouble, but the results are worth it -- and so are you! Learn the techniques, then treat yourself to these recipes for one, including Spinach and Mushroom Frittata, Cherry-Glazed Pork Chop, Cod in Parchment and Mexican Pizza.
Attack and Defend: Diabetes increases the risk of stroke, so it's critical for people with diabetes to learn how to take steps to prevent stroke, recognize its symptoms, and react quickly if one occurs. This primer does the job.

Wine 101: While preliminary research has extolled the virtues of some wines, it's important to know how much to have and how to pick a good wine. This 101 guide is complete with several wine-doused recipes!

Easing the Transition: American Diabetes Association-funded researcher Susan Enguidanos, MPH, PhD, is studying the risks patients face during the transition from hospital to home, and how to smooth that process particularly in the highly affected Latino community.

I didn't mind them winning but I would have preferred Brook's team to win as I thought they (in particular Brook) provided more entertainment throughout the whole series.  Thank goodness the 3rd place team didn't win as they didn't make that much of an impression on me.

Nat seemed the more interesting of the two.  Not just because of the diabetics story either, though they started emphasising that towards the end maybe indicating she was a finalist and even the eventual winner.  She seemed maybe the more livelier of the two.  They were obviously a competitve team with some intelligence and also enough physical prowess and yet did not suffer getting u-turned.  The producers were no doubt happy with the result as they seemed nice enough people and as they never tired of telling us (and spoiling me for previous series) they could and did make history as the first female couple to win.

Hey all,

I apologize in advance for bringing this thread back from the dead and for going against the grain, but I just finished watching season 17 and have to share my thoughts.

I absolutely hate the fact that Nat and Kat won; they were the very last team I wanted to see get the prize. Believe it or not, I would have even preferred it if the jerk Nick won. At least Vicki would have made some money, and she seemed to be an absolute saint for putting up with him (or at least that's what the editing makes it seem like).

Super-props go to Nat for completing the race as a diabetic, but the question on my mind throughout the race has been: do physicians need more money?

Not just any physicians, but anesthesiologists. They are on the "ROAD" to happiness, which is a collection of specialties with the optimal combination of compensation and lifestyle (read: most money for the least work).

I would have had mad respect for them if they had donated half their earnings to charity, or maybe even shared them with the second and third place teams. But did they do any such thing? No! They greedily kept it all.

Conclusion: Nat and Kat seem nice and friendly on the surface, but they come off as absolute jerks for not sharing their winnings with anyone. Given that anesthesiologists had a mean compensation of $419,596 per year in 2009 [1], this behavior is super-greedy and inexcusable.

Later guys.

EDIT: Yes, I did make an account just for this; that's how strongly I feel about the issue.

I'm not a fan of that season, and I wasn't rooting for Nat & Kat, but...

1. Nearly half of their winnings go to taxes
2. Medical school is really expensive
3. I don't think them not sharing the money is greedy, I really don't. I know that isn't much of a defense, but there really is no response to that one.
4. They and Jill & Thomas were the best two teams, so they "deserved" to win.
5. Brook & Claire in their bio bragged about making a six-digit salary, and Kevin makes over 100k from his videos on Youtube. I personally believe doctors should be payed more than these people.
6. What about Brendan & Rachel, Rob & Amber, Ethan & Jenna, and Jordan & Jeff? They raced for $1 million and they already got it at least once, and all they did was sit in a house or starve on a beach.

This probably won't change your opinion of Nat & Kat, but debate is always welcome in my opinion.

Welcome to RFF, PinappleSkin!!!!

Welcome to RFF, PinappleSkin! :bigwelcome

The Amazing Race isn't a show where the person who needs the money the most wins. The Amazing Race is simply a competition. The team that crosses the finish line first wins. It doesn't matter what your motives are. If you want to see "deserving" people win the money, I think you would be best off watching another show. What they choose to do with THEIR money is their decision. If you would have donated some of your winnings to charity, I commend you, but they won the money fair and square, and they can do whatever they want with their money. I also agree with Best Loser. I don't think it's greedy either.

Besides, there are other people in the world who are more greedy and selfish than Nat & Kat. cough the Kardashians cough :res:

The Amazing Race is simply a competition.

That's how I look at it.  I know the big tagline to the show is that people can win a million dollars, but as with other shows like Big Brother I'm sure many go on it as much for other reasons such as being fans of the show, the competition, the media interest/fame etc, or maybe just winning a prize by winning a leg too with TAR.  You need some luck to win these kind of shows anyway.

I remember a season finale/reunion show of Survivor ages ago (can't even remember which season), in which Jeff Probst said that there were pretty much two rules for the contestants of Survivor: You can't physically hit another player, and you can't conspire with other contestants to share the prize money. I'm sure a similar rule exists for The Amazing Race.

I have consistently criticized CBS/World Race Productions for encouraging cross-overs from Survivor and BigBrother.  Jordan only won $500,000 for Big Brother; she and Jeff finished AR16 in the middle of the pack. Ethan and Jenna only made the third leg of AR19. Rob and Amber came tantalizingly close to Amazing Race victory in AR7 (they were 2nd place) and lost out on the 4th leg of AR11. Brendon never won anything and his Rachel won $500,000 (not $1 million) in BigBrother, not a million. They appear to be in the F3, so they should have a good finish in AR20. However, if would have been better if all the above teams were never allowed to run an Amazing Race. They should have rested on their laurels.
