Batu Caves are a series of limestone caves, the limestone forming the caves is estimated to be 400 million years old.

Quote
The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam  in Malaysia.

Outside the caves stands a 140 foot tall statue of Murugan, the worlds tallest, which cost 24 million Rupees.

The caves serve as the site for the annual Thaipusam festival, held around January/February. In 2007, the festival attracted 1.5 million people, making it one of the largest gatherings in history.

Peach:

The paragliding may be a non-winter sport and they are at about 45 degrees south Latitude on the South Island of New Zealand. In the mountains, it is core winter the day after their shortest day of the year. The elevation is 5145 feet and most of their trails utilize man-made snow, not the natural kind more typical in higher elevations.

Below is some information about Coronet Peak. I spent a lot of time in Queenstown but never heard of it (Mt.Cook is the big deal in mountain in that part of the South Island).

Coronet Peak is Queentown’s original ski resort, and is just 25 minutes from town. With a reputation for some of the best and varied terrain in Australasia it is no wonder that Coronet Peak has developed a truly international flavour.

Coronet Peak leads the way in innovation by hosting high profile events such as the Queenstown Winter Festival and Compaq 50k of Coronet endurance race, and winning the best New Zealand Resort (NZSBA) plus over 3 New Zealand Tourism Awards.

Coronet Peak’s wide and rolling terrain provides maximum fun for all. Extensive snowmaking ensures that everyone can get the utmost enjoyment for the longest time possible.

For those wanting to try the latest gear check out the Fun Zone demo centre. An award-winning ski and snowboard school will set you up or hone your skills, allowing you to maximise your enjoyment and time on the slopes. Even when the sun goes down, the action never stops — night skiing, exclusive to Coronet Peak, allows skiers and riders to continue through the twilight hours into the magic of the night.

Fully licensed Coronet Brasserir and bar and the Westend Cafe. Rental — Ski, Boots and poles, Snowboard Repair, Ski storage. Retail outlet — ski accessories and clothing. First aid and emergency services. Licensed creche and dedicated Children's handle tow. 2 Snowboard halfpipes and terrain park.
Location:    25 minutes from town; Ski Shuttles: Daily service to/from Queenstown
Summit elevation:    1,649 m
Vertical drop:    420 m
Longest trail:    M1 - 1.8 km
Trail breakdown:    Beginners 20%, Intermediates 45%, Advanced 35%
Skiable acres:    280 hectares
Lifts:    1 Detachable Express Quad, 1 Triple Chair, 1 Double Chair, 1 T- Bar, 1 Magic Carpet and 1 Beginner Tow.
Snowmaking:    Extensive coverage, top to bottom
