At least the pink girls aren't BOTH blonde this time, so there's that.
We don't know if it's definitely four. Remember -- the older women's team could just as easily be an older couple. I'm sure the brunette (or redhead) is a woman, but the gray-haired one might be an older man. Still, if it is four, I'm glad they're finally willing to go outside of their comfort zone. I was always pissed when they'd feel okay with stacking the deck with four (TAR2, TAR3, TAR10, TAR15) or even FIVE (TAR4) men's teams, yet never felt comfortable enough to cast more than three women's teams. If they finally cast four, it's a welcome change in casting. And it increases the odds of getting that winning women's team that eluded them since the BQs came so close in All-Stars, and then, the redheads not too long after. And then, Brent & Caite ruining it last season for completely immature, personal reasons.

Thanks to some new friends, I have been sent an enormous influx of information from sightings in Boston....many teams photos and descriptions!! :hearts:
But sadly all of this info needs to be correlated and closely reviewed before posting, and I am in the midst of a long work stretch. So it will come, but may well be the weekend before everything is up.
Meanwhile, I can confirm that there are 4 F/F teams ( red, pink, peach, lime green), what appears to be a Father/daughter team (yellow), a M/F team with loads of tattoes (grey/black), and 3 M/M teams (African-American, Asian {Wu's}, and young males)11 teams...and no Mother/son team.
And awesome job Mrs Shrek and Neobie on the video compilation of teams!!
Colors seen at the airport are apparently somewhat different from the boat ones.

It looks as if the age limit has been permanently lowered under 21. This is the second consecutive season with a contestant who will be over 18 and under 21 at airing.

I wasn't really trying to single you out, suzuken, there were loads of posts today blindly requoting unnecessarily. It makes it hard to read, and puts an unnecessary strain on the server.
Also, we are going to try to be a little stricter this year about inappropriate posts....if you have a spoiler, or are discussing a spoiler, no worries. But ongoing spec in the spoilers thread may be moved once, after that your posts will just be deleted...so pay attention to where things go please. The big complaint I hear about RFF is that the spoiler threads are full of chatter, so let's try to keep them on target. For people like me, trying to catch up on pages of posts, a lot of blahblah is hard to read.

Not sure which thread this is most appropriate in but the 3 teams on the first flight, AA 108 are:
- Male/Male Team (late 20s-mid 30s) - Both of the young couples
The male/male is the first team to get tickets. The third team was reported to be wearing lime green pants. This does not match any of the clothing seen in the starting line photos, but teams may have had different clothing on at the airport than the starting line.

(After all they've had almost two hundred teams running the Race in the 16 prior seasons, and that probably is a reasonable size for a manufacturing order that's been used up.

Georgiapeach thank you for all your work. I am enjoying sleuthing along with you guys. That video is amazingly clear, and I agree with someone who said that the tall dark haired girl looked of Asian decent. But not even sure she is a racer. Kevin Wu is very very clearly shown at the counter at the very end of that clip.

Team colors have proven to be confusing, so I am starting with the colors they wore on the start. By the time teams reached the airport, they were incredibly hot and sweaty apparently, so many of them changed before their flights. Teams were also heard referring to other teams by colors that were not so apparent (Team Turquoise?) but have used that nomenclature when possible.
And a HUGE THANK YOU to all those on site who have kindly shared their stories, their photos, their videos, and the wonderful adventure with us all!! You know who you are, and we couldn't do this without you!!

The first three teams to arrive at the airport and therefore the three that were able to leave on the earlier American Airlines flight arrived in this order:
They could be using the bandana colors instead of the clothes. The couple in black (Team A) are wearing a turquoise bandana as opposed to a black one.
That seems most likely. In Macaroons images from the video you can see the Team A lady wearing the turquoise bandana around her neck, and in the airport interview the male has it tied around his right wrist

Maybe they are a mother and daughter?
Also, they could be team 11 (tag) if their cameraman's letter corresponds to their team number. K is the 11th letter of the alphabet.

No. They do for the starting line, but after that, it is up to them if they want to continue matching or not. To help the producers identify them, teams do have matching bandanas of a specific color that they either wear or hang from their bags.

I don't get a lot of mactor hunch from most of this cast, maybe only form of the younger co-ed teams. I don't think we'll have a lot of mactors this season, not more then a regular ones. The only thing that bother me a little is the fact the all 4 female teams seem to be caucasian and in their 20's (I might me mistaken) and most look like friends. The lack of diversity could be a problem.
Except that the cast looks fine to me.

Indeed, it's been a common occurrence recently. Especially in the pageantry circuit and South Carolina circle. Sources indicate that both of these will be represented again by STEPHANIE SMITH, a MISS SOUTH CAROLINA USA 2009 who interestingly succeeded JAMIE HILL of TAR10, just as JONATHAN SCHWARTZ succeeded Nick Spangler of TAR13 in the Fantasticks.

I have never had anything to add about contestant spoilers, but on Team Blue, the beautiful Eurasian looking female looks extremely familiar to me. I believe that she is a beauty pageant winner or finalist. (not that I watch a lot of those shows) I could be wrong, but I have seen her before (or her twin) and I have it in my head that it is a competition.
And looking at the two females on that team, they could well be beauty pageant alumni. Hope this isn't out of line for this thread. Might be more speculation than fact. (the memory ain't what it used to be)

I think that's a slight exaggeration, but there have been seasons where beauty pageant winners were in abundance. (TAR 5). It does seem, though, that that group usually make up all or half of better-performing teams. which I think has more to do with it. TAR has wanted to see an all-female winning team for a long time, and the casting of four all-female teams does seem to be a bet that maybe there's a fortunate pair in this season's cast.
I do find it curious that casting does seem to have a fixation on South Carolina beauty queens, though.
And is that Miss Kentucky of Miss America or the Miss Universe/USA/Donald Trump-owned one?

They should consider replacing Lynne Spillman. She's doing a terrible job with female applicants. No offense, but I thought that they would want differing personalities. I hate to typecast, but four beauty pageant winners doesn't scream diverse personalities.
Are the powers-that-be getting desperate to have a F/F team win? I'm down for having four F/F teams in the race, but let's see some diversity (and non-recruited teams!!!) in this thing. Have some athletic girl teams (Kisha/Jen), or have a compelling F/F storyline (divorcees-Kelly and Christy), or have a mother-daughter or two...

Good points by all. Production and casting gets paid the big bucks to make these decisions. Initially, I don't like it, but let's see how it all pans out.

I am saddened to read on this forum that so far out of the 11 teams of TAR 17, 5 teams identified are related to the entertainment field. I have nothing against beauty queens, web surfing, or theatre, it just seems so shallow of the casting department to be so biased. 40% are semi-celebs. I hope the percentage doesn't increase as the remaining teams are identified. :'(

Are we 100% on Mrs. Nebraska? Mrs. Nebraska is 1/2 Chinese and that seems to fit, but she was at the Mrs. Colorado contest on May 13-15th, which seems to be cutting things very close for the pre-race preps. And the more I look at her picture, the less she seems to fit.
Here is a close up of Mrs. Colorado during the pageant. The smile is not as square, she has more "perfect" teeth, and doesn't have the dimples of our racer (who is, IMHO, cuter anyway).

It is being re-examined and hopefully re-verified. There is some new potential evidence against it being her. But those dates do not conflict.

At this point, due to some new evidence that has come up, we can't be absolutely certain that Megan and/or Jennifer are correct. There is still a possibility that either could be, but it is NOT confirmed. It is still being looked into.
Sincere apologies to anyone who has been misidentified on the board. We always try our best to make sure that information is reliable and concrete before it is posted. While the photographic similarities seemed strong in this case, there is always a chance for error until it comes from CBS.
Hopefully instances like this will be minimized/avoided in the future. Thanks for your understanding.

There are multiple images in the threads of most all of the teams at Heathrow, only one in the summary.
And well. I am spending about 6 hours a day searching blogs, photo albums, local media, tweets, alerts, and "social media", as are many of the Detectives... how about you?? ???

I wouldn't read too much into heights being moderately different since any pageant shots were probably done in pretty serious heels and Racing would probably be done in some verision of flat/sneaker/low heel height boots.

The other one in taxi is female,so this should be F/F team I think.People who took the photo told us this is an F/F team.Since we know they have a blonde and carry green pack(lime green team carry black pack), and the blonde look definity not the girl in blue team...I think we can confirm this is pink team.

Hello I'm the person who took those photos. I saw that 2 teams went intp Seibu Department store in Tsim Sha Tsui for a while. Then two teams ran to the intersection of Nathan Rd and Haiphong Rd. I tried to run and catch them but there were many people on the streets. One of two teams go on a cab and another team of 2 girls call for another cab. However, it seemed that the cab driver didn't understand their English. So the cab stop on the road for around 4 minutes and then go away too.

That was posted a couple of days after we believe the race finished, so it isn't proof either way of whether he made it far or not. I'm guessing the teams were told to be available until the 20th both to give themselves a couple of days recovery before heading back to work, and so as not to spoil the exact day the finale would be filmed.

They both photoed in Hong Kong,the same leg,I don't think they will change crews' cloth at the race on the same leg.
This is true, but I am not sure we can see enough in this boat photo to be sure of the crew?
In the boat picture, the male standing behind the pole with headphones is a possible for the cart driver in the middle image (glimpse of red bag in boat pic) and the male he is talking to with shaved head & black shirt is possible for one of the runners in third picture. The male in front of him with headphones does seem to have a light coloured shirt, but seems blonder than the male passenger in the cart (and all the other crew pictured in the other 2 pictures) so it's not yet conclusive either way imho.

You have Asperger's as well? So do I! I've thought of applying but I have a big problem -- finding someone who would willingly come on the show with me. I'd like a guy to come on but my options are pretty limited to relatives and I don't have many male relatives I think would be willing (or in my dad's case, able) to come on with me. But if an all-female team wins, I might try to do it with one of my female relatives. Or not -- I'm not sure on that one.

A girldfriend and myself were going to try for TAR #18, if there is one, but I work for the Post Office and if we were chosen and filming was Nov. through Dec. I would probably have to write the Postmaster General to get the time off. Hopefully the show will continue and maybe we can apply for this time next year.
It is so hard to find someone to apply with. The prize money and the travel, I go to very few places, I think would be entriguing.(sp)

I noticed we have (nearly) all the all-male teams, and none of the all-women teams!! Let's change that:
This is the red team:
ANDIE DeKROON. 43. Catholic mother of a blended family (9 kids). Cumming, GA. JENNA SYKES. 21(ish, depending when her b-day is). Film Student. Indianapolis, IN/Athens, GA (originally from Niceville, FL).
What is their relationship? Sisters? Mother/Daughter? I can't seem to know. :lol:
The drastic age difference leads me to believe they are mother and daughter.
That's what I think too. I think they're mother and daughter or maybe aunt and niece.

I can't speak for any of the other detectives, but I've been searching the internet for weeks for clues about various teams, hitting multiple dead ends, and only finally figured out the red team about 12 hrs ago. Anyone can join in the searching game...it just takes time and effort, and a little bit of luck. I messaged the links to my red team possibilities last night to Macaroons, who had come to the same conclusion via different methods, and the team was posted on the site this morning. We want to try and be sure we have the right people before publicly identifying them on the forum, but that's not exactly 'witholding info' imho :duno:

I don't think this has anything to do with the race... it's just that US lost to Ghana in the world cup. It has the same date of the match. I'd say, this is irrelevant.

I'll do some digging on that one. It sounds plausable. My mother in her 50s is actually close to a few people at work that are in their 30s. Same age gap as Andi and Jenna.

A few thoughts about their video: First off, it was made more than a year ago. I lilke the fact that it seems this team, especially Brook, really seems to have been trying for a while to be cast. Keep in mind that Survivor is premiering about 10 days before TAR next month, so their premiere is still over a month away. (CBS usually releases the Survivor cast with more lead time than TAR. Based on past history, TAR's cast likely won't be revealed until the week preceding Labor Day at the earliest.

Because you weren't the only mother/daughter team to apply for the race. There were probably thousands out there. The producers didn't ignore you and your mother or the those other thousands of mother/daughter teams, they just found a duo they found more interesting. Try again next year. They are always looking for teams with such a relationship.

I'm not sure what is going on with CBS this year. They've done very little with Survivor although the cast has been announced (over a week ago), and I'm not aware of a single mention of a TAR promo on the network.

I think I've identified the blue all-female team. If I'm correct -- I think I'll like them. The dark-haired woman seems to be Asian American -- and I've always had a soft spot for Asian Americans.

Yeah, I thought it was Nat & Kat! So that means they're the blue all-female team who makes the Final 3! I'll love that! But you need to update Page 1 and put their names in.
