Regarding the title, there is a small island just off the coast near the airport called "Ile Anonyme." (Anonymous Island) It's actually named after a ship.

These 360 pano's include the ferry, the jetty, the tortoises, the ox-carts, the helicopter pad, and some other places we might see as well. Great pics...it was a little slow to load for me but worth the wait!!
Also spec that we MIGHT see teams use the inter-island ferry as well as the helicopter as we know crew used boats between the islands for sure.

The coconuts may be related to the Copra Mill :
Once a leading industry in Seychelles, the production of Copra (the dried flesh of a coconut and the oil derived from it) has declined significantly and today the only remaining Copra Mill on La Digue is at the L'Union Estate where you can see every stage of the copra processing, from the laborious de-husking to the final purifying and bottling of the oil.
The tortoise stuff may take place at the Tortoise Pen:
Found at the foot of the L'Union's giant boulders some of the tortoise are over hundred years old.

I think that the other detour is feeding (or getting food) for the Aldabra Giant Tortoise. According to Wikipedia, it does eat Bananas and it also can be found Union Estate park on La Digue Island.
And I think that this leg may be an NEL for many reasons. First of all, it would have been easier to send the team to elimination station before going to Asia. Second, we know that Shanghai I will be a NEL as well, and I'm really doubting that they would but NELs within a couple legs (but it is possible)

It looks like "trundle" to me. A trundle is a round or oval wooden tub. Or, as a verb it means to transport in a wheeled vehicle. Or, to move as if on wheels or to roll.
I think its "toddle" - "walk or go somewhere in a casual or leisurely way : they would go for a drink and then toddle off home." Better describes the way a tortoise walks... So maybe its: "Do some task before the tortoise toddles over to the bananas and eats them." :duno: Remember the press release, it says "race with a giant tortoise".

One more opinion probably won't hurt anyone. It is definitely not TRUNDLE because there is aspace for only6 characters on the sign. It sure looks like TODDLE to me.

It seems they have a haul a machine--copra grinder, perhaps?--in addition to the coconuts. Brent/Caite seem to have forgotten theirs, resulting in a return trip: you can see water on their right (heading south). I don't see a machine with the detectives (the cowboys maybe), but that might be due to the camera angle. Pension Michel is a bit of a puzzle since it's not on the coast road; maybe production routed the teams around for...another stop? traffic? local request?

I was pointing out both of them. Copra machine is just a guess, I don't know what it is. The loading spot seems to match the Union Estate mentioned by Boingo (flat grassy area dotted with palms). Also, the spot where they read their ocean clue (treasure map, whatever it is) might not be the same place they started from.

Wondering if they will be assigned plane tickets to/from Seychelles that they are "under no obligation" to use, similar to the Mauritius/Madagascar legs in TAR10. With such limited flight options, I would think TPTB wouldn't want to risk someone not getting tix.

wodnen, if you have looked ay my flight possibilities posted weeks ago, you will discover that the top two possiblities arrive only 20 minutes apart although they depart from Paris hours apart. It is unlikely that they would be the "safety valve." However, you may be right about the third flight, which arrives 6 hours later.

I have actually been pretty impressed by how the remaining AR16 racers can almost pronounce Seychelles correctly. Of course it is a French word, so the first "e" is pronounced as the letter "a"particularly Dan/Jordan. Here are two official pronunciations:
Sey·chelles audio (sa -shel, -shelz) with the "e" having a bowl-shaped notation over it (upside down circumflex) and means extra-short and the a having a hoizontal bar over it, which means equivalent to the "a" sound in day, pain, whey or rein.

I think this is when Brent/Caite first land in the islands. They still have on their warm clothes on from Europe and plane ride. Later when they do the coconut/ox cart, they have stripped the long sleeves off. They may be waiting to catch a helicopter to La Dique

I was pointing out both of them. Copra machine is just a guess, I don't know what it is. The loading spot seems to match the Union Estate mentioned by Boingo (flat grassy area dotted with palms). OK, you're World Race Productions and you have decided to send all the teams released from the pit stop in Epernay to the Seychelles on the same flights. What do you do?
1. Send them on AF952/HM (Air Seychelles) 007 CDG SEZ nonstop 1930 0715+1 or 2. Send them out earlier on QR020 (Qatar Airways) CDG DOH 1605 2340 connecting Doha with QR702 DOH SEZ 0050+1 0645+1?
I would send them out on the nonstop, as things could go wrong on a 6 hour 35 minute flight to Doha.
You might guess that it would be possible for some other flights, connecting in places like Doha or Dubai or Frankfurt or Rome or Milan or London or Zurich, but I cannot find any from anywhere other than Nairobi. This flight KQ450 cannot help us shorten the time to Mahe because its departure at 0905 is too early for any connections from Paris consistent with having all teams on the same flight.

My estimate, partially shown previously is that it took about 20 minutes to load the coconuts, 21 minutes to take the oxcart to the fruit vendor, 22 minutes to retrieve it and return for the final coconut, and 21 minutes to get back to the fruit vendor. This is based on average speed of 3.7 miles per hour for the ox pulling a loaded oxcart. This total is about 85 minutes.
However, the much bigger question is why the elapsed time from off the plane at Seychelles International Airport to get to the cluebox for the DETOURs took so long. If Jet/Cort landed at 0715 and it took 30 minutes for their Camera/Sound crew to be ready to leave the airport and the helicopters were sequential every 5 minutes from about 0800 and 0900 and Jet and Cord had a flight time of about 15 minutes for the 40 miles to La Digue heliport, they should have landed around 920am, not one hour later. What happened to that time?

I thought a reply would be better in this thread. When some of the teams pass through the dock you can see, for just a few frames, a lineup of small luggage boats at the shoreline. It's true that the fanny pack cannot be seen when Steve climbs out of the water. Perhaps he loaded them onto the skiff, still not realizing about the backpacks. Some of the teams can be seen retrieving items (shoes, etc.) from small bags that mysteriously appear on the St. Pierre ferry.

If they are going to be sleeping in an igloo or climbing a glacier (extreme temps) then yes, it is usual for them to provide a warm jacket and gloves and sometimes boots.
But a city? I honestly don't know...we'll have to watch. My guess would be no. We can look at the pictures we have in Shanghai and see if there are new clothes?
