It looks as if a China franchise (http://jobs.studiodaily.com/c/job.cfm?site_id=1947&jb=6493232) is getting off the ground.
Amazing Race China is looking for a number of production roles to be filled immediately.
The show is a team-based, race-structured competition that follows 10 teams through 12 different cities in China as they compete for first place. Along the way they must complete tasks in each city and battle each other to avoid being eliminated.
Production is scheduled to begin in late April/Early May running through mid-June with post-production scheduled to continue until September. Each episode will involve three day shoots in each city with a day break in between.
Somehow I think you might just have to be Chinese to qualify for this race. :lol3:

I magnified the image, and I am sure that it starts with "N-I-N" and it ends with "O."
I think that it's "NINGBO."

To me the pitstop picture does look like Suzhou but not the 1st one. In Suzhou old town they use those lights for many different building. However, I've never seen those kinds of boats before on the river. All I've seen are garbage boats. My feeling is that it may be Zhouzhuang.

Most probably Suzhou, that means the first leg is in Ningbo and the second one in Suzhou or vice-versa. I think Allan is trying to distract us, by mixing pictures from the 1st and 2nd leg.

So TARA4 is going to start in end of May or early June ...
Tough for Allan ... and good for him as well...

<posted 07 May 2010>
Large scale reality TV Programme "China Rush!" has come to Changzhou (常州) for filming
At Qingfeng Park (青枫公园), the racers who were the first in getting their clue sped off to the next route marker while reading their clue.
Foreigners were in Changzhou for a day of tension, suspense, and freshness (this phrase doesn't really translate well >.<)
At 1.30pm yesterday, a group of hurriedly walking foreigners with large backpacks appeared in Qingfeng Park (青枫公园), some doing rock-climbing within the park while others were trying out difficult tricks on skateboards.
By 2.30pm, after anxiously flagging down taxis, the teams were soon spotted in a 2nd floor work station at a Changzhou comb factory. Each team of two search through baskets containing more than 2000 combs in order to find combs that were carved with the words "China Rush".
As the clock starts to strike 3pm, these same foreigners quickly make their way to the exercise area in Miduqiao Elementary School (觅渡桥小学) where each team is to plait braids for 10 students using the combs they found earlier.
After which, they continue on in Changzhou by foot, passing the Old City Walls (古城墙), Lai Meng area (莱蒙社区), the sunken city (春秋淹城 - some archaelogical ruins from the Spring-Autumn Period?) etc.
You must be curious as to who these foreigners are. They have done quite a few weird and interesting tasks while visiting some fun and scenic Changzhou attractions, and all in the space of one day.
in actual fact, production crew of "China Rush" were in Changzhou yesterday to film some exciting moments.
"China Rush" aims to show the world the modern atmosphere and historical heritage of China's cities
At the location shoot, programme producer Xia Jing (夏靖) does a simple introduction to reporters:
The programme that's being shot at the moment is called "China Rush!", and is a reality series that showcases a widespread cultural experiences in Chinese cities to the world. "From an international group of applicants, we have selected 20 people of a range of characters and races (i.e. skin color) from America, Canada, Kenya and various other nations, and they are competing in 10 teams in various tasks."
It isn't easy to sieve through 2000 combs just to find one with the words "China Rush!" on it.
Teams left the starting point at the Shanghai World Expo site on 28 April, and would be travelling through the country to 12 cities for a month on their own abilities. During the month of travel, they would be showing the audience each city's unique blend of modernity and cultural heritage, demonstrating Shanghai World Expo site's theme of "Better City, Better Life".
"Teams and production teams would be at various cities from May to June for filming, with each episode lasting 1 hour. All dialogue would be in English with Chines subtitles. Walt Disney has already bought international broadcasting rights, and would be airing the show world-wide."
Changzhou - Leg 3
Changzhou would be the teams' third stop.
From Qingfeng Park to a comb factory to Lai Meng, and then to the Spring-Autumn sunken city, producer Xia Jing tells reporters that prior to officially deciding the race route, the organizers came to Changzhou and were mesmerized by the juxtaposition of modern and tradition. "We would like to show the world the real, charming side of Chinese cities. You see, one of the racers even sent me a message saying that this is a very beautiful city."
After finding the comb, teams immediately go to Miduqiao Elementary School to comb and plait the hair of 10 schoolgirls
The leg in Changzhou is the same as all the other legs, and teams may be eliminated here. Yesterday, 9 teams went through various tasks and trials at the fastest possible speed with the elimination of the team checking in last. The reporters present feel that within the intense competition, there's also emotional and intellectual challenges.
The programme will premiere on 8 Aug on the Shanghai Foreign Language Channel (海外语频道), and on 15 Aug on CCTV-9. Please keep an eye out for glimpses of Changzhou!
I only have this, but it's in chinese. This press realese said all cities.

to add on to coutzy, leg 3 was in changzhou n it was reported tat 9 teams were seen doing tasks, so one team WAS eliminated there. go refer to my translation of leg 3 tat's on p4 of this thread for details
It is understood that China Rush trip to Yangzhou in Yangzhou will be a 4-day shoot.
-will be last month's shooting and, after a number of cities in China and eventually back to Shanghai World Expo site.
-ultimately back to the Shanghai World Expo site, the final winner will be World Travel Awards were.
I find a new press release about Wuxi leg and it said Wuxi will be 2nd
leg .http://www.wxrb.com/szb/wxrb/html/2010-05/08/content_490379.htm

Just a question, when did Bonnie and Mel get eliminated F6 or 7?
Today, I spent the good portion of my morning in an audio suite so I could do a good amount of voiceover work for any upcoming show in China that is destined to send ripples into the entertainment industry, The Amazing Race China Rush. I had the pleasure of sneaking a peak at some of the footage for the first episode, and I think that this race has all the workings to turn some heads. Of course, we will all find out for ourselves when it telecasts on Channel ICS (International Channel Shanghai) on August 8, 2010.http://www.wulander.com/2010/07/polishing-off-the-blue-steel/

“The Amazing Race: China Rush” premieres on August 8 on ICS at 8pm, and airs weekly in China. Outside of China, audiences will be able to watch the program via CCTV International (CCTV-9). Show is in English, subtitled in Chinese. For details, visit www.chinarush.tv.
On your recent travels around China, if you happened to notice a crowd of hectic foreigners chased by cameras, it was sadly probably not a celebrity tour group, but more likely part of the filming for International Channel Shanghai's (ICS) latest reality show, “The Amazing Race: China Rush.”Read more: Let the race begin! ‘Amazing Race: China Rush’ | CNNGo.com http://www.cnngo.com/shanghai/life/let-race-begin-amazing-race-china-rush-airs-weekend-601918#ixzz0vpjHO0HJ

Based on the international “Amazing Race” show format, “The Amazing Race: China Rush,” which debuts this Sunday, August 8 on ICS, features 10 teams racing through 11 Chinese cities with the franchise's last-one-out elimination system, and featuring physical challenges and extreme sports contests that audiences are used to seeing on Western reality shows.
I learned that Chinese people have an incredibly high tolerance level when it comes to foreigners behaving strangely ... the cab driver's watching all of this [taping] in his rear view mirror with a bemused look on his face that says, ‘laowai ... whatever.’

Although some contestants were already living in China, three of the two-person teams came to the Middle Kingdom especially for the show.
Contestants were chosen from a variety of backgrounds and countries, from American middle-aged expatriate moms (Karen and Lisa) to Latvian reality TV stars, and countries including Australia, Kenya, India, Mexico, Latvia, the United States and Canada.
"It's such a motley crew, but they're going to make for great television," says Chinese-American host Allan Wu, who has hosted all three seasons of' “The Amazing Race Asia,” to China Daily.
The show’s director and Fly Films co-founder Eric Ransdell agrees, but says the people reflect the make-up of Shanghai and the Expo where the show began and ended. “[The Amazing Race: China Rush] was timed to be broadcast through the last half of Expo. We were cognizant in terms of casting that this was the Expo year in Shanghai and we wanted a truly international cast,” he explains.
“We recruited some teams from abroad, including a pair of Masai warriors that I had met a few years ago at a friend's safari camp in central Kenya. We also brought in a team from Latvia and a team from Australia, in addition to having teams from India, Mexico, Canada, the United States and the UK who were cast here in China.”
The team descriptions in Chinese are hilariously good/bad! Some direct translations::groan:
Reality TV Veterans, 选秀狂人: Madmen of talent shows
Best Mates, 澳洲帅哥: Cute guys from Australia
Ultra-Marathoners, 暴走佳丽: Hiking (also translatable as "neurotic", or "furiously walking") pageant girls

some new spolier of contestants:
http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=856091558
I translated in English(just main points).
Molly left China with Paul and Fransic to come to Africa to do charities, she left her house for Rick and Josh.Rick and Josh now moved to Shanghai ,they liked China because of this game and they decided to start their new livies in China!
In fact, the first leg is an emilinated leg,but production don't want to emilinate Paul and Fransic early so they decided to change it to an non-emilinaterd leg.I don't know this would be good or bad :( .
But,still, the first team to be emilinated------Paul and Fransic(the post said they are first team to be emilinatd, but I am not sure the author means this or they come last in first leg) .
I mean, for people who cant watch the live link, Dr. Rox

It's possible Ep2 will air on Aug22,delay one week.
It's not gross eating.I got some spoiler that it's Yangzhou fried rice,it's delicious.
But problem is---------
they have to eat 1.5kg rices.
Next leg is an emilination leg.
Since we got the order.
---------------------------------------
10.Kenyas(emilinated at Wuxi)
9.Amigos(emilinated at Chzngzhou)
---------------------------------------
Janis and Aleksandra(emilinated before Qingdao)
Bonnie and Mel(emilinated before Qingdao)
Sean and Amy(emilinated before Qingdao)
----------------------------------------
5.Sarah and Molly(emlinated at Tengchong)
----------------------------------------
Rachel and Charile(final4)
Indians(final4)
Rick and Josh(final4)
Karen and Lisa(final4)
----------------------------------------
does this mean there are two back to back non elimination legs? or maybe someone gets the boot in quingdao?
The report about Qingdao leg said there are 5 teams come to Qingdao.
So looks like Qingdao,Chengdu(1),Chengdu(2) are non-emilination leg.

Yea I think they're drawing Bamboo (if I'm not mistaken). The 3 lines are the leaves and there a two vertical lines to the side that are the stick.
Okay Some insight I have. I feel that the fried rice should be Yangzhou Fried rice, one of the most famous types in China. Wikipedia page bellow has the general ingredients. I don't think this will be a hard eating task but the sheer size of the portion may be hard on some girls.
:welcome: to RFF mcraggize!! Have fun!!

If that is the Great Wall of China I think I see Bonnie & Mel will certainly struggle like hell...
