Valparaisowoden: Looks like Cardonal Market (http://natalislangvalpo.blogspot.com/).
The Amazing Race came to town - we spent a whole lunchtime in a waiting for the couples to come running by chased by their out of breath cameraman and soundman. It was funny (in a slightly cruel way) to see the teams that went down streets that none of the others had chosen. Losers. How we laughed as we sipped our beers.
The Amazing race was being filmed whie wer were in town, and Elise had the pleasure of seeing many moronic Americans carrying paint tins up the hills. We were chased away every time we went for our cameras, so you`ll have to watch all of season 27 to check the truthfulness of this.
The Amazing Race in Puerto Varas, the broadcast by CBS conducted part of their itinerary in the lake district

Alright, this article was taken from "THE NEW PAPER" (Singapore's "alternative" newspaper) and the issue is dated Friday, 18th December 2009. Just a quick heads up before I dive in into the article proper, there really isn't much new information inside the article and it seemed like the person who wrote it took most of it directly off RFF, in fact. :groan: But nonetheless, I'm posting it up here hoping it would be of some help to the investigation here.

Is Amazing Race back in S'pore? (http://a1preview.asia1.com.sg:90/vgn-ext-templating/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=30881f5db71a5210VgnVCM100000430a0a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f6dbadbd2b722110VgnVCM100000bd0a0a0aRCRD)
Film crew spotted at S'pore Flyer and Bugis
IS THE Amazing Race making a pitstop in Singapore again?
A US film crew was spotted at the Singapore Flyer and Bugis on Wednesday. And it looked like they were laying the groundwork and preparing for the impending arrival of contestants as the signature red and yellow striped envelope which participants need to find was seen by someone who posted it on the Net.
But contestants were nowhere to be seen.
Now into its 16th instalment, the US reality TV game show first came to our shores in 2002 during its third season.
According to Ms Nicole Lee, 30, who works at Singapore Flyer's Japanese restaurant Hibiki, the tourist attraction was strangely quiet on Wednesday morning. Curious, Ms Lee asked the receptionist, who confirmed that The Amazing Race had indeed been filming there in the morning.
She told The New Paper: "When I arrived for work at about 11:30am, I saw a helicopter hovering above us, which is unusual."
Singapore Flyer's marketing communications manager June Leong confirmed that it had been hired for filming a commercial TV production", but did not specify which one.
Later that afternoon, the crew moved on to Bugis where they were seen filming with an ice-cream street vendor.
Miss Stephanie Tang was on the way back to her office at Parkview Square after lunch at Albert Centre when she spotted them.
Being a fan of the series, Miss Tang immediately recognised the signature red and yellow stripped envelope. So she snapped a photo and posted it on Twitter.
The 23-year-old marketing communications executive told The New Paper: "They were at The Bencoolen at about 1pm.
"The film crew asked an ice-cream vendor to hold on to a red and yellow envelope. I didn't spot any contestants around."
Back in 2002, we saw The Amazing Race teams wandering through the National Orchid Garden, swimming across a manatee enclosure at the Singapore Zoo and getting wet in Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth. They also navigated maze-like HDB corridors in Choa Chu Kang, after which actor Gurmit Singh - playing Phua Chu Kang - handed them clues.
Finally, actress and former Miss Singapore Universe Jaime Teo greeted them at the Mount Faber pitstop.
As for this season, it seems filming of the race started at the Los Angeles International Airport. While details have not been released, Entertainment Weekly reported that rumoured contestants Jordan Lloyd and her boyfriend Jeff Schroeder were spotted at the airport in competition attire late last month.
Lloyd is US reality TV show Big Brother 11's winner and Schroeder was a fellow participant.
The film crew and contestants have also been spotted in South America's Puerto Varas and San Carlos de Bariloche, according to Spanish news websites.
Can we think of a diverge point? Something completely new in the race? Or will it just be a decoying behaviour?

I know that is going to happen! That MUST happen! Best Roadblock ever! :jumpy:No way of knowing that yet :funny:
I might have figured out where the possible switchback for this season is. Look at Season7 when they drove from Chile to Argentina across the Andes on Leg 3. Remember the Roadblock on that leg, where they had to eat all that meat and some of the teams decided to not finish it and endure a 30min time penalty. That was a memorable moment.

Yes, thank you YY and :welcome: to RFF!
This is the only Dallas >Santiago flight tonight.
My SPEC is that the other half of the teams may be flying via Miami.

The person who got the information got it at the DFW airport from someone working there, so it was confirmed by her at the DFW airport that Jeff and Jordan on that flight and those are their seats
But it is two pieces of conflicting info
EITHER they are on the Miami flight dep Miami GAte D34 at 1145 PM OR they are departing Dallas in 40 minutes...not both so pick one,!
I'm really thinking that the Concert Hall was the start line.
And I was there last winter...

The poster at AllboutBigBrother.com is in Dallas currently and was checking flights via her flight attendant mom. She confirmed that J/J are NOT on a flight coming into Dallas, but instead, they are on the Miami flight listed...hope that straightens it all out! =)

The ONLY possibility is if teams were preboarded at least an hour and a half before any one else boarded.

Did anybody make it to the Miami airport to get pictures there? I'm worried that my Jeff & Jordan are possibly on the second flight that left LAX. Hope they can catch up.

First flight was like 5 mins after the flight from LAX the teams were supposed to be on, like 8:20 pm, no way were any teams able to get on that unless Jesus himself carried them there.
Next flight after that was 11:45 pm.
Now both flights were delayed. The 8:20 pm one left at 8:37 pm, the 11:45 pm one left about 15-20 mins ago, but I still doubt any teams got on the first flight. My bet is most that went through Miami (and no teams were spotted at DFW to my knowledge) were on the latter flight.
Add one thing on, there was a flight in the middle, but I do know that JeJo were supposedly on AA 957. Left 15-20 mins ago, and it's an 8+hour flight.

I think the flights left the United States and went straight to Chile (meaning the only stop was in the US going from LAX).

We KNOW they went to Santiago.
We KNOW they used the Miami flight.
They were not seen in DFW however on the expected flight....but there is a maybe 1% chance they could have been preboarded not via the gate itself...PURE SPEC!
There are just no other good flights that fit the necessary time frame ... esp as all teams were seen in the AA area at the same time in LAX.
Just to give more details on DFW, I was at the Santiago gate (with a helper) from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. I saw everyone that boarded the plane and there were no teams. They would have had to get on the plane at a time different from the other passengers, or in the few minutes I walked around to other gates, shops, etc, looking for them. I asked two gate workers and they had seen no teams (I feel pretty comfortable they weren't lieing to throw me off). I feel pretty comfortable that the teams did not get on that Santiago flight.

that is really weird...I wonder what's up
Let's presume they went to Miami. Why in the world would flights go from the west coast to the east coast only to go back west since Chile is in the Mountain Time Zone. It simply doesn't make sense.

new to site and first post
Not aware of TAR travel rules, however, another flight possibility is LAN airlines, which I have personally flown from LAX to Mexico City/Lima/Rio and there are frequent connections to Santiago de Chile and nonstops to from LAX to Santiago. These outward bound flights are long, 20+ hours. Flies from Bradley terminal and code shares with AA. Not sure where at LAX teams were photographed.
Could explain no teams yet?? I'm just sayin...
Great spoiler site!
I just got up and my coffee has't hit my brain yet but do I understand correctly that they have not been seen since leaving LA?They'll turn up, they always do :jam:

peach, maybe we'll see Antarctica? That would be a miracle...But you never know...
I'm thinking either Argentina/Brazil and then on to Africa (like TAR 2).Maybe we'll get some crazy connections as well.
Newbie here, just fascinated with the sleuthing end.
After checking many tourist ideas, seems that one of the really interesting things besides Wulff Castle is Fonck Museum of Archeology and Natural History. They can see the Easter Island Muai, the only Muai on South America's mainland. Since it's full of fossils and one of a kind relics (two headed goat was mentioned by one traveler), I could see them having the racers look for something titled in Spanish, where they will then get their next clue. Also, I believe the museum is closed on Mondays, so production may have planned it that way to eliminate other interference? Do they do that?
I hope this is OK to post here. I am not wishing them to go here, just seems plausible with the seemingly limited amount of task things to do here.
There is a possibility that the next location could be Guayaquil Ecuador.
IF they should go there...the nicest thing about Guayaquil is that it is often used as a jumping off place for the Galapagos Islands.

I believe that there was a 36-hour pitstop, so that Phil could film in Valparaiso. Thus, leg 2 would have began on December 1.

Found another Facebook post:
It says 5 hours ago (so around 7pm EST? which is 9pm in Chile?) Jeremiah Kent posted:
Totes ran into the Amazing Race today on the way to Bariloche, gave a team my map, now i don't know where the [bleep] i am. Hope everyones having fun getting ready for 3 nights of MSG... [bleep]ers =)
[had to clean it up a bit!]
He has a blog (http://earthtojebber.com/) that says he's currently in Bariloche. So I'm not sure if the TAR team was also on their way to Bariloche, or if he was on his way to Bariloche when he was approached by the team. A recent tweet (http://twitter.com/jebberz) says:
Walked round Santiago, Chile yesterday, took a night bus to Oserno, and now waiting to cross the the Alps and the border to Bariloche, Arg
So he could have run into the TAR team on the night bus to Oserno, or where he's waiting to cross the Alps, or maybe anywhere in between? BTW, that tweet was 17 hours ago...
(and is TAR LA filming right now?)
The same bus to Orsono continues to Puerto Varas (+60min) and to Puerto Montt (+90min)...
"The Amazing Race" and part left Chile to Bariloche, Argentina
Thursday, 03 of Diciembre 2009 19:00 .
The next destination of the recordings on the American television series "The Amazing Race" would be the trans-Andean city of Bariloche, where the powers would continue to see which pair wins the famed reality-competition that is taking place in South America.
However, in people liked watching the tapes of the series the way it was characterized to a Chilean huaso course, that is, cowboy hat, jeans and rubber boots next to a small sheep.
Moreover, and as yesterday showed the photograph to reveal the couple eliminated from competition, a lady of about 70 years with a young woman, after the tests were conducted in the lake district of Puerto Varas.
The difference regarding the version of the series currently being filmed is that they would be recording American competition and not the American version. This would be supported primarily because the driver for the Latin version is Harry Whitbeck, while the series in its American version is hosted by Phil Keoghan, who appears in the photo next to the alleged couple eliminated.

Thats already posted graytex, Lord knows where though  .. everyone is all over the place!
It has to be:
Leg 1: Valparaiso-Santiago (12 teams, 1 eliminated)
Leg 2: Santiago-Puento Varas (11 teams, Grandmother/Granddaughter eliminated)
Leg 3: Puento Varas-Bariloche,Argentina (10 teams, 1 eliminated)
Leg 4: Bariloche-Buenos Aires,Argentina (9 teams, 1 eliminated)

Leg 4: Bariloche-Buenos Aires,Argentina (9 teams, 1 eliminated)
Not if Buenos Aires is only a connecting point to another continent, which is my guess. I doubt they'd stay in Chile for two eps, then Argentina for two eps. They've got to get this thing moving.
This race is giving me a TAR 7 vibe...
As of yet unconfirmed by a second sighting - teams may be in Paraguay...
Thanks to Polarbear for finding the tweets!
See the tweets from this person - diureticalorder - who saw production people and flags in the airport as they waited for a flight to Montevideo Uruguay.
Flight from ASU to Monte at 1:20 pm PU 704 - they left before the teams arrived so looking at teams on these flights arriving ASU:
Santiago PZ 709 4:40
Buenos Aires AR 1274 4:50
Ciudad del Este PZ 707 5:10

San Diego? Where did that come from? *lost again*

Probably from the start of the race.
okay so they ran through San Diego. start line in ??......
"Ooh- cool, it's the 'Amazing Race' filming in the Union Station"
 well, Union Station is in downtown L.A. :groan: So why were they seen way over by the Marriott, when they could have grabbed a cab right outside the station to get to LAX? ...I don't think Light Rail goes to the airport yet
here's a 360 pano (http://www.360cities.net/image/los-angeles-union-station-in-los-angeles-usa) showing the arrivals/departure/ticketing area of Union Station (requires a zoom in)
No San Diego. It's definitely LA's Union Station. Neobie has been there. Me too. well, Union Station is in downtown L.A. :groan: So why were they seen way over by the Marriott, when they could have grabbed a cab right outside the station to get to LAX? ...I don't think Light Rail goes to the airport yet

Like Neobie said, there is the Flyaway bus. I use it to get to LAX. When I'm not trying to break records. It's a great bargain versus taxis.
Even better if they made the teams take the metro to LAX (Green line - Aviation station). I've done it - there's a 2 minute shuttle to LAX from the metro station.
So Red Line to Blue Line to Green line. If teams went the wrong way from the Marriot area on the Red line they end up at Union station
This is going to be fun!Hate to disagree with with a native - but the Blue line doesn't go to Union Station - only the Red and Purple - and no one wants to take the scary Purple line.
It's a genuine "Make your way to the airport"
a) ask for a ride (this was reported)
b) bus (maybe Flyaway from Union Station)
c) metro (maybe Red, Blue, Green, etc.)
d) taxi
Taxi? Teams had enough cash to do a taxi. I saw $100 bill plus more being exchanged at LAX for Chilean Pesos. The average exchange rate of the Chilean Peso to the U.S Dollar was 1 U.S. Dollar to 522.46 Chilean Pesos in 2008 (wikipedia).
This shot was taken near the main entrance to Union Station. The direction the Mompeneaurs are headed is consistent with entering at the front and going back to the Metro and Flyaway locations. You would not need to go to where the shot was taken if you were arriving at Union Station by Metro. You would just stay in the Metro area and transfer to the Blue line.
Or they could be lost in Union Station.

Oh yeah, no Blue line at Union Station. So if they arrived on the Red Line then they are lost looking for the Blue line. I'm betting that they arrived on foot and are making their way to the Flyaway bus.
Here is a look at Union Station

Now there’s a fast, affordable
connection between Downtown
LA and LAX that’s easy to reach
from Metro Rail, Metro Bus,
Metrolink and Amtrak. Try the
new Union Station FlyAway.
FlyAway buses run 24 hours a day (every
30 minutes from 5 am to 1 am, and each
hour from 1 am to 5 am). The buses leave
from Bay 9 of the Patsaouras Transit Plaza
adjacent to Union Station via the East Portal.
> Tickets are $3 one-way ($2 each way for
children 2-12). Purchase tickets before you
board at the FlyAway kiosk in the Patsaouras
Transit Plaza. Note: Metro Passes are not
valid on this service.
Press release when the service started estimated 45 minute trip non-stop to LAX. I don't live there, so don't know if this is accurate or even if this a good time for a Saturday late AM trip. But it would mean no expensive rental cars and no driving.

who took the picture and whereThe same person that took the Union Station shot. The where is unimportant, it's an attempt to pin down the time of the Union Station shot. Unfortunately, unless she reset the camera-clock (tourists rarely do), I can only add to the confusion.
@Radical Communications MediaRadical is a well-established SM firm that does mostly commercials. WRP might list the permit under a false name (they've done it in the past), but I doubt they would use the Radical name.
Downtown Mariott sighting...The 7th street station, where the blue and red lines meet, is nearby. A team with local savvy might head there on foot to save some time.

They go to 5 continents this season. :yess:
You can get 5 continents without Europe or Antarctica, and I suspect that is what we have (all except North America) are in the Southern Hemisphere, if not south of the Tropic of Cancer (the imaginary line demarcating the northern end of the Tropics around the globe).
And I think that's a good race, but not one that will be done in 21 days or less (due to travel time from continent to continent). My guess is 23 days.
They go to 5 continents this season. :yess:
:wohoo:
Now, care to share any specifics? ;)
This does make Germany seem more likely. And bets are on: Oceania or NA for the 5th continent?

Wait a minute: we got South America, Asia, Europe, and North America as the only continents so far, so that's four continents. So what if its all six again like in Season5 theres always that possibility.
We do not have Europe.
We actually only can confirm North America, South America, and Oceania. I bet the other two will be Asia and Africa. I really don't see them going to Antarctica (sorry peach!) and the last race was like.....almost ALL Europe.

Just to summarize here...
Thanks entirely to a wonderful find by ryan83 and his late grandmother Tomi, RFF was able to confirm San Francisco as the Finale city almost 2 weeks ago. However, due to our belief that the finale should be run unmolested, we again made the decision to not share this info with you all until AFTER the Finale had safely been filmed. However, J/J and other teams were spoiled as they arrived in San Fran from ES, letting the cat out of the bag completely.
The Shanghai info came from some good old fashioned detective work by the team, and a little luck.
So yes, the filming of the TAR 16 FINALE took place 12/19 and was completed by late afternoon, exact MAT location unknown ....so far. :cmaslol
Why would you assume that the producers let the "cat out of the bag" as to where end city was simply because the B/B team was at the airport? They had to get there somehow. Second of all, I find it hilarious that just because Chateau said something was true, you automatically take his word for it, yet other people you chastise and belittle until they have a photo to confirm. Chateau has no photos to confirm teams came in on the flight he thinks he did.
TAR16 in Shanghai on the 17th looking better and better, someone spotted crews filming on Nanjing Road a few days ago, maybe for scenes we see when Phil announces " This is Shanghai the largest city in China, and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, with over 20 million people." :cmaslol
SO I AM CONFUSED?? :cmas13 WHAT IS NEW, ... IF THE J'S WERE SEEN IN THE AIR PORT COMING FROM ES THAN WHEN DID THEY GO OUT ?
Hey.
Dunno if this is news or not to all of you, but the TAR 16 teams were on the 0915 hrs Malaysian Airlines flight MH1138 from Kuala Lumpur to Penang on Monday, Dec 14. One team, two males, university students probably were seated on the seats just in front of me and were wearing mics with a bunch of shooting crews.
They were probably on transit in Kuala Lumpur the morning of the Dec 14 enroute to Penang, as there aren't that many international flights flying into Penang.

Pretty sure my point just got proved since sightings were on the 20th not the 19th as Chateau claimed. All Im saying is that the upper clique of RFF should be held to the same standards as the rest of us.When did we ever knock you? You brought us a pretty awesome spoiler Racefan82, refresh my memory please?

I don't recall Chateau ever sighting a team, he sighted crews filming at SFO on the 19th, we were told the race was ending on the 19th. What can you do? Maybe start a private forum and leave ya'll out of the sightings until we get confirmation?

this was in a reasonbly busy tourist areaI agree they probably should have stayed with Acapulco (see the PV cruise ship schedule here (http://puertodevallarta.com.mx/Documentos/CALENDARIO%202009.pdf)). Maybe the arrangements were made before final casting?
Production cast a VERY high profile team on the race this seasonI wonder who had the final decision. BVM has been public about his dislike of retreads and reruns. Even Spillman doesn't like them: read the interview here (http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/the_amazing_race_13/2008_Dec_04_casting_former_survivors). Maybe it was a network decision.

Thank you, waterfalls1! That information fits perfectly with other info we had. It makes me wonder if there was a leg in Kualu Lumpur before this or if it was just used for a connection.

I am assuming these comments are addressed to me??
Delighted to answer.
1)QuoteWhy would you assume that the producers let the "cat out of the bag" as to where end city was simply because the B/B team was at the airport? They had to get there somehow.
My perception on this is:
Production cast a VERY high profile team on the race this season...a team with a huge number of fans. I think that they underestimated the interest and the dedication of those fans to finding out every single bit of news they could.
They "let the cat out of the bag" because they didn't take enough precautions.
JJ in Mexico? This wasn't in a small Cambodian or Thai village...this was in a reasonbly busy tourist area. JJ should never have been allowed to be placed in the position of being photographed. (But hey! I LOVED the spoiler...but still.)
And much better precautions should have been taken at the airport if they wanted to avoid the fans' sharp eyes. There were multiple other options to getting them to SF that would have avoided commercial airlines. When you are dealing with "ordinary contestants" it doesn't matter, but it did in this case with JJ.
2)QuoteSecond of all, I find it hilarious that just because Chateau said something was true, you automatically take his word for it,Chateau has more than paid his dues here and makes enormous contributions to this forum every single day. 3)Quoteyet other people you chastise and belittle until they have a photo to confirm.Chastise and belittle? Really? :cmaslol
What you don't seem to understand is the enormous amount of energy that goes into every post we make here. Photographic proof from strangers who bring us info is ALWAYS very much appreciated, because it is firm data that can be analyzed. But we welcome all spoilers...but all data is closely analyzed by the team.
4)QuoteChateau has no photos to confirm teams came in on the flight he thinks he did.Nope, no photos. But you see, YOU have no idea of what info was being discussed.
Yes, we misread some cues and were off by a day. But we have the correct origination city, the correct flight, the correct Finale City, and now the possible MAT. And due to the sensitive nature of the Finale, most of that info was deliberately NOT posted publicly because we care about the show, sometimes even sacrificing spoiler info to protect the teams. And never did Chateau claim to have seen teams, as puddin states.
5)QuoteAll Im saying is that the upper clique of RFF should be held to the same standards as the rest of us.Can you show me anything demanding you adhere to any standards here? This is my 8th online season with the race. I used to be very innocent, and pretty much believed that all posters were here because they loved the show as much as I do, and wanted to help in the fun of discovering the locations and all the details that make TAR such an amazing show. But in the last few seasons we have seen incredibly detailed attempts at misleading us surface...including false sites, blogs, tweets, websites, and photos, some of which were carefully planned months in advance and placed here by new posters with their own agenda.
So my question to you is, after bringing us a wonderful spoiler of the decoy teams in Vegas yourself... out of your 8 posts:
WHY are 3 of those posts trying your best to convince us that the teams were NOT decoys?
WHY is 1 of those posts an attempt to discredit VegasSinner?
And now, 2 more of those posts attempts at discrediting Chateau, me, and the RFF team?
Really, it kind of makes me think you expected us to believe that your photo showed the TAR 15 final three. But when we showed instead that these photos clearly showed decoys, you have turned instead to trying to discredit our sources, our info, our Detectives, and our site.
Really wondering just what YOUR agenda is here?
Don't get me wrong, JJ were adorable on BB, I just don't like retreads either. But their casting will be dynamite for TAR ratings, Olympics or not.Temporarily only. Their casting will be dynamite for TAR ratings while they remain active in the race. Then TAR ratings should plummet back to normal levels and the onslaught will be for the Elimination Station videos.
This is my 4th RFF Amazing Race. I can't applaud Puddin and Peach to much. They are great coordinators of a lot of info. Because of their discretion, they get a lot of "inside" info. The finale in SF is about the only time I think this inside info was wrong. I doubt that Pudding and Peach got it wrong. I suspect the inside source messed up with the time frame with the crossing the international dateline. Maybe or maybe not. I will still trust them to lead the rest of us in the right direction in the future. Their only agenda is to make it fun to figure out what is going on.
Chateau has no photos to confirm teams came in on the flight he thinks he did.Pretty sure my point just got proved since sightings were on the 20th not the 19th as Chateau claimed. All Im saying is that the upper clique of RFF should be held to the same standards as the rest of us.
In addition he has a brilliant analytical mind, so yes! When he says something, we pay attention. He has a proven track record.
On the contrary, I think it is the RFF team who hold themselves to very high standards, we strive for accuracy and reliability every day.
Pretty sure my point just got proved since sightings were on the 20th not the 19th as Chateau claimed. All Im saying is that the upper clique of RFF should be held to the same standards as the rest of us.When did we ever knock you? You brought us a pretty awesome spoiler Racefan82, refresh my memory please?
I don't recall Chateau ever sighting a team, he sighted crews filming at SFO on the 19th, we were told the race was ending on the 19th. What can you do? Maybe start a private forum and leave ya'll out of the sightings until we get confirmation?
It's pretty obvious that Racefan82 is a plant >> CONFUCIUS SAY: "Man who goes to bed with itchy ass wakes up with stinky fingers".
Sorry about that chief!Any more pictures Chateau and yeah that, they looked like a very strong team :cmas13
I thought for sure they would make the final leg :cmas13

I think they didn't make final 3, so sorry if true. Just looking at the evidence which is not looking good for Louie and Mike. I'll guess they are made final 4 but that's speculation.Sorry about that chief!
I thought for sure they would make the final leg :cmas13
Who? Do you think Mike & Louis made the final 3?
Just finished a short trip to verify for myself the path the Moms were walking at Union Station. I stood in the same spot and the photos below show the viewpoint from behind and in front of them. Behind them is the ticket counter and the door to a garden area called the South Patio that many people use as a shortcut (beyond the patio is the neat Fred Harvey restaurant (http://www.flickr.com/photos/12295814@N05/1833253041/), now used only for weddings and movie shoots; too bad it couldn't be a starting point). In front of them is the Red Line entrance and baggage claim. To their left is the main salon and to their immediate right is the tunnel leading to the Amtrak platforms and the Flyaway bus. If it's the bus they're after they need to do a lot of asking; I only found one sign for the Flyaway--at the end of the tunnel next to the bus stop itself.
I'm not sure where to put this, or if it is even news here. Remember the photo of Phil eating at McDonalds? I had tweeted the guy and asked where the photo was taken and he just answered me yesterday. He said, "Dubai."thanks for the info sweetpeatx , good job

I'm not sure what the caption of this photo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/taegencarter/4220686985/) means: the photo seems to have been created today (27 Dec), and he might be referring to a former racer.
Interesting find...was this was one of our possible start locations? ???Someone migh have thrown that idea out, I'll have to read back to see who it was? Thanks Slowhatch and Boingo :rodeo
Amazing race: I just called my friend in Toronto. There is flags and a cluebox outside the brickworks.well, speaking of fire, there's a forest fire going on in Valparaiso, Chile, the 1st city to be raced on TAR 16: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8432347.stm
:funny: :funny: :funny:
Liar, Liar pants on fire.
Have we got anyone here from Santiago or in particular Valparaiso!
Been looking into this a bit... and just going with the hotel spoilers in downtown LA... you can extrapolate something like this....
One of the downtown hotels used by USC (to house alumni/team) is the Omni Hotel
Given that, what else is there to do downtown within walking distance of the hotel....
- Angels Flight (funicular) next to Omni (closed for repairs)
- Walt Disney Concert Hall (modern Bilbao-like structure) possible indoor start ?
- a whole lot of nothing......... but great access to the freeways...
In short, I got nothin' :groan:
Could this be connected to the start location??? see (9) =

but I think it would be close to where teams were spotted??? (I'm probably just grasping at straws :duno:)
We were about to leave Kekloksi Temple near Penang Hill around 11am on 12/14 when one team and its cameraman and coordinator hopped out of a taxi. A few minutes later two more teams showed up and each team was asking some locals for help. Eventually they all figured out they were in the wrong spot. I was standing next to one of the guys at this point (trying to offer my map but he was talking to a local), and I'm pretty sure they were all supposed to be at Kuan Yin Teng (Goddess of Mercy Temple), but am not 100%. A couple hours later we went to this temple and didn't see any trace of the race.
All we can remember about the teams was that there were three of them - one father/daughter team, one team of two younger guys, and one unknown. (Sending pics for review--peach)
.... They sent a few pics >>>( the last team to leave, since I was too excited that we were watching TAR to take pictures or video up to that point) is the father and daughter.
Unfortunately we didn't get to see a challenge of any sort, but hope this is helpful anyway. Let us know if you need any more information.
I looked at the pictures and one team was Mike and Louie - I believe they were the first to arrive. I'm pretty sure that the other team (the second to arrive) was the frat boys - the guy I stood next to was a young white guy who wasn't wearing a cowboy hat.
The third team was definitely a father/daughter team because the coordinator kept telling the daughter to make sure she stuck together with her dad.
That looks like the Father and Daughter to me too, definitely looks like them in the first pictureInteresting. So if they're here, this is, what, F6? Can't be F5, because I thought that's where Dan & Jordan were to have gone out.

joelwhitaker Amazing Race contestants just completed near-final stage by rappelling up San Francisco's Coit Tower! http://twitpic.com/udts2 half a minute ago from Echofon
http://twitter.com/joelwhitaker
Confirming that some filming did occur there...last "teams" reported through about 45 minutes ago... crews now dismantling the equiptment.
I spoke to someone else in San Fran who saw the cowboys around the Great American Music Hall, which is on O'Farrell Street. They said they were very frantic and tried to get a cab but there was someone in it. They tried to get the people to give up the cab but they wouldn't so they ran to the next street over, Geary Street and caught a cab there.
I don't know if there was something at the Music Hall or if it was just the nearest landmark to describe where they were. Here is a map of it in comparison to Coit Tower. Notice that it is towards heading back in the direction of Hunter's Point, which would be further to the bottom right of what this map shows.

I now see the other racer you're talking about - that wasn't the young guy I referred to in an earlier email, but it looks it must be his teammate. Didn't even realize that team was still there at that point. Good spot!
Hey. So this confirms that Steve and Allie were not decoys at this point so does that mean Carol and Brandy go out 6th?
The Cowboys were spotted multiple times in Singapore , the San Fran Twitter wrote that his girlfriend said the couple in red at Coit Tower was indeed Caitlin and Brent so at this point who knows? Read below, could be Caitlin and Brent where wearing blue so we still have a red team couple sighting in Sentosa...not sure which team that might be?Hey. So this confirms that Steve and Allie were not decoys at this point so does that mean Carol and Brandy go out 6th?
Beside the "blonde guy" sighting that may be Steve or Carol, Carol and Brandy where spotted in Singapore selling ice-cream. why do you automatically assume that only of them reach Singapore?
Who told you that the cowboys and miss South Carolina are not decoys in San Francisco? they were not spotted in any of the Asian legs.
In fact, n the tube behind us, we could see two young girls were being filmed doing just that. Since we envisioned that the dinner would be an occassion for romance and dinner, and the girls were rather shoddily-dressed, we were trying to come up with scenarios for what was going on. Was it a reality TV show? It turns out we were close -- a Hong Kong Travel show was filming its Singapore adventure
Well, the first team I saw were two big guys wearing blue and the second team were a couple. The male is blonde-haired and the female is a brunette.http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,21193.msg503496.html#msg503496
I did not realise that they were filming the amazing race until the 2nd sighting, therfore no pictures were taken.http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,21193.msg503507.html#msg503507
I was at the singapore flyer at about 11am, 16 dec 2009, when i saw the 1st group, male/female team(young couple, long hair girl dressed in blue).
As the flyer was closed for shooting until 12.30pm, my family and i proceeded to sentosa's underwater world, where we spotted the 2nd group, male/male group (middle aged man, dressed in blue too.) wondering around Rasa Sentosa Hotel car park at abt 1pm, same day.
well, according to her, there were 2 females, should be wearing grey though she wasn't really sure now. They were selling ice cream and it was about 11+ am. =)

Natalie: okay i think.. there's this two guys with cowboy hats? n a couple team?(indians?) didnt hang around there very long... sorry!
Ugh, my head's hurting trying to process all this! From all we're reading here, we know Dan & Jordan and Mike & Louie had to have gone out before the F3, and Brent & Caitlin and Jet & Cord are two of the teams in the F3, but my mind's wracked trying to figure out who between Steve & Allie and Carol & Brandy is the last team in the F3. One minute, I'm disappointed that the search for an all-female winning team ended at F6 again. And the next, I'm getting hope that it didn't end there at all. I'm so confused. Which is it, I wonder?!The Cowboys were spotted multiple times in Singapore , the San Fran Twitter wrote that his girlfriend said the couple in red at Coit Tower was indeed Caitlin and Brent so at this point who knows? So why the Monday?

Cowboys, dectectives among 'Amazing Race' teams
By DERRIK J. LANG
AP Entertainment Writer
Jet and Cord McCoy, a pair of bull-riding brothers from Tupelo, Okla., are among the 11 teams competing on the upcoming 16th edition of CBS's "The Amazing Race." Other teams competing this season include a grandmother and granddaughter, a father and daughter, married high-school sweethearts, and a couple of attorney moms.
Jet, 30, and Cord, 29, who have both competed on the International Professional Rodeo Association circuit, said they were not daunted by their competition for the $1 million grand prize on the reality show premiering Feb. 14 (8 p.m. EST).
"We ride bucking bulls and horses," said Jet. "If we're gonna be intimidated, it's not by another team."
"I can ride a horse as fast as they can go," said Cord.
The biggest hurdle facing Louis Stravato, 47, and Michael Naylor, 45, at the beginning of the race was their backpacks. After seeing the behemoth bags carried by the Harlem Globtrotters last season, the longtime buddies and narcotics detectives from Providence, R.I., chose not to pack lightly. They ended up ditching clothes along the way.
"We are the two biggest idiots," said Stravato. "Before the race, we kept telling ourselves that the cameramen were going to have to check their stuff, so we would be able to check our giant 90-liter bags while we were racing around the world. When we got to the starting line and saw all these small bags on everybody else, we knew we were in big trouble."
A few of this season's contestants have previously been in the spotlight, including former "Big Brother" houseguests Jordan Lloyd, 22, and Jeff Schroeder, 31, as well as former Miss Teen South Carolina Caitlin Upton, 20, who is racing with her boyfriend, Brent Horne, 28. Upton said she wanted to redeem herself on the race after her infamous 2007 pageant flub involving a confused and mangled response to a geography question.
"People always picture me as the typical pageant girl, and I'm not at all," said Upton. "I've only been in five pageants. I'm actually a very athletic person. I'm just tired of being represented from that standpoint. I want to show people who I really am as a person, that I am capable of accomplishing anything and doing anything I put my mind to."
Lloyd and Schroeder, who began dating after Lloyd won the 11th season of "Big Brother" last summer, said fans of the claustrophobic reality show might be surprised to see how much the duo bickered on the 16th season of "The Amazing Race," which was filmed last November and December and spanned nearly 40,000 miles across five continents and eight countries.
"I wasn't prepared for how much we had to work together," admitted Schroeder.
"He wanted to ring my neck," added Lloyd, "and other times I wanted to kill him."
"Jordan, I was trying to say it in a nice way," said Schroeder.
For the first time, when the teams departed "The Amazing Race" starting line, they had to rely solely on public transportation - no rental cars, no taxis - to make their way from downtown Los Angeles to the airport, a world-class challenge in itself. Executive producer Bertram van Munster said the racers then headed to Valparaiso, Chile. Other stops included France and the Seychelles.
"We have never been to that place before," van Munster said of the lush island destination off the east coast of Africa. "We were looking into going to Africa, but I couldn't find any countries that would fit into the entire scheme of the race, and I wanted to go to an original place. It's very beautiful. It's very remote. It takes forever to get there."
Great find! :jumpy: :jam: It also sheds some light on Chateau's predictions about the trip to the airport.
Also means that they may not have gone to Germany after all...France??
And definitely means that Dijibouti was a false spoiler, right? No other African countries.

Woohoo Seychelles! :jumpy:
IIRC, there is a daily flight between Seychelles and Singapore. Teams may have been able to catch it, but production probably would have been on that flight.

I really don't trust Paraquay.
Early days of the Beatles is all about Liverpool isn't it?? Could we have Liverpool and not Paraguay?? ???probably that Beatles thing is none other than Sir Paul McCartney who had a honeymoon vacation with his former wife, Heather Mills in Seychelles (a country that will feature on TAR 16) way back 8 years ago. And here is the link of it: http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-87100675.html (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-87100675.html)

This was the first thread I read this afternoon. After reading all the other posts today, Paraguay has to be out. That was good deception. But I think it is very easy to fly into Hamburg and for the teams to make their way to Paris with either 2/3 legs on land only travel. Then fly out of Paris to the Seyschelles.
When the Beatles first started going to Hamburg, I think they were called the Quarymen......changed to Beatles later.
And also, the late George Harrison had his own estate located on Seychelles as well, in the island of FRÉGATE, and here's the link:
Will CBS be releasing a route map soon?
Remember that the World War I reenactment doesn't actually have to take place on an actual battlefield! Don't know why, but I've a gut feeling on Strasbourg.Strasbourg is a TGV ride away from CDG airport. Also, if one were to draw a line between Hamburg and Strasbourg, Frankfurt would be on that line.
Quarrymen? Having Gargoyles flashbacks from seeing that name.Ypres is way NW.

It's not often you make a geography goof, but it looks like you have here. Ypres is in the Southwest part of Belgium. Since I am not sure precisely what you were getting at, Paris is also west of the entire country of Belgium. I made one too, as I believed Mons was in northern France when it really is in Belgium. Here is a schematic map of Belgium to illustrate where Ypres is:
Bariloche was beautiful but windy and cold - bring not just "layers" but a heavy coat, gloves, scarf, thermal undewear. The young sheep farm host was hilarious and the farm will be featured on the Amazing Race in February.

Not sure if you have seen this blurb from this travel blog but could this possibly be where the grandmother/granddaughter duo were eliminated?

...now the question is whether it will survive a race around the world, including a first stop in Chile and later challenges including the reenactment of a World War I battle in France and a Beatles-centric puzzle in Liverpool, England.
Although this doesn't jive with the Patagonian newspaper and could be a mistake...
England could potentially host the Birdman Rally in the preview, and a short train/ferry ride to our WWI battlefield!
Belleau Woods (thanks, Dr. Rox, I forgot that one)
Chateau-Thierry
Thanks apskip! Awesome transportation summary.
Another alternative that comes to mind would be for teams to to fly into MANchester, which is the big international hub for that area, and then drive or take a train from there. I use that hub often, it is an easy airport.
I do wonder whether or not they would let them self drive when that involved driving on the left though? I know they have done it before when it mostly involved motorways, but in a small town it is different. Some years I drive more miles on the left than I do here, but it is knack, and takes a little time to be comfortable.
I really like the thought of using the trains the best, fun to see!
There's one other issue on the Beatles leg/event in terms of transportation, especially if teams were sent to Liverpool rather than Hamburg.
The weather. Even during late November and early December, the weather in the UK and Europe was stormy and cased a lot of rail delays. Eurostar was closed several times (I recall reading it was closed for days at one point during the holiday period, which was just after filming ended.)
If we have some dates, it might be worthwhile to check the weather for the cities in England, France, and Germany to see if it helps point one way or the other.
An is there any chance teams went to Hamburg, and then had to go to Liverpool, and then Northern France? If Hamburg was only a route marker or for half a leg or something, it would still move teams along.
As to the Beatles' connections btw, there's always Abbey Road in London.

I'm not sold on the one source pointing towards Liverpool yet, because the article might have been the result of a misunderstanding by that writer.
But then, we only have one spoiled article pointing towards Germany (in general), but the reference to the early days of the Beatles can be seen as support, Or maybe for both. If those dates seem pretty solid for the Europen legs, then checking all of the various possible venues would be worth while, if for no other reason than to see if weather might have caused a last minute change in any of the legs. (Think Family Edition and Belize.)
a grueling World War I reenactment in France, retracing the early days of iconic rock group The Beatles in England and facing off with one of the world's most infamous villains.
There are many other similar Beatles points of interest around town to see as well, and the best way to hit them all is on a Magical Mystery Tour, which is offered not just during the Beatle Week festivities but year-round. The two-hour bus tour, accompanied by a soundtrack of Beatles tunes (appropriately matched to the sites), takes passengers to all four members’ childhood homes as well as to Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, and St. Peter’s Church in Woolton, where Lennon and McCartney first met at a fete in 1957 and where Eleanor Rigby is supposedly buried.
There are multiple articles out there now, theschnauzers, I think we are seeing a later press release.

I don't thtink there is any doubt any more, reporters don't make this stuff up, they work with the info they are given.
And weather during that time doesn't seem to be an issue in Liverpool, just another rainy day in the UK!
GMTA, Sailing! :ty3:
When they say facing off with one of the world's most infamous villains is that talking about England or some other location they visit?
The weather in the UK at the start of December was typical autumn weather, no major snow or storms until the 18th. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/8421994.stm
The 8th of Dec is the anniversary of John Lennon's death, also there was a film about John Lennon's early life called nowhere boy released at the beginning of December.
THeWhen they say facing off with one of the world's most infamous villains is that talking about England or some other location they visit?
I think this is probably to do with the WW2 re-enactment, what with Hitler being involved and all.

It is a World War I battle they re-enact not World War II.

oopsie! sorry! but just so you know, again, you should add two more locations: The Seychelles and France so you might wanna put that in your timeline.:groan: Please read before you post misterblah.

We spent one day doing the touristy things of Shanghai. We went over to Lujiazui to see the Pearl Tower and to go up the Shanghai World Financial Center building - currently the third tallest building in the world (according to wiki). It’s the one that many of us think looks like a ‘bottle-opener’. After wandering about Lujiazui for a bit and grabbing a late lunch at Din Tai Fung, we eventually made it to the Riverside Promenade so that we could get a look across the river to the Bund on the Puxi side. We are standing around in the freezing cold, next to the freezing cold river when THE MOST AMAZING THING HAPPENED!
A few people run past us. The first thing that runs through my mind was, “oh no, they’re trying to steal my purse!” And then we saw the camera crew. Second thought that runs through my mind, “ITS THE AMAZING RACE!” Well, that was my theory at least. I’ve always thought it would be pretty cool if I came across the Amazing Race during my time abroad. Michelle and I start running after them and ask them what they were filming for and the guy answers with the two coolest words, “Amazing Race.”
OH. MY. GOODNESS. At this point I couldn’t believe what was happening before my eyes. Ultimately, we found the pit stop for this leg of the race and waited around long enough to:
1. see two teams check in. Including the last team to arrive. I have no idea whether it was a non-elimination leg or not though
2. see one of the world’s tallest men. He’s a Chinese man and quite tall. Though I heard soon after that he just recently lost his title to someone else. He needed walking canes to help him stand though.
3. see the production crew of The Amazing Race.
4. see Phil, the host.
5. say “hi, I love this show” and get a photo with Phil.
The crew in charge of keeping the area clear of bystanders was nice enough to let Michi and I stand around. I believe they let us because they could tell we weren’t locals from our American accents and probably figured we could do no harm. Truth is, some Chinese locals will treat you differently once they know you’re a foreigner ... even if we are ethnically Chinese.
After that cold, amazing experience, Michi and I headed across the Huangpu River back to Puxi where we grabbed some dinner and took a walk down Nanjing Road. It’s just a shopping street but at night it’s all lit up and you can people watch. Weather: still cold.
The Pit Stop was on the Pudong side of the river (Lujiazui) along the Riverside Promenade. The exact location was the area that is directly in front of the Starbucks and Shangri-la Hotel. I saw them on Saturday, December 19 around 6pm-8pm (China time). The tall Chinese guy was the greeter. I hope this information helps you guys out with your TAR timeline.
While they were waiting for the team to arrive, Phil would help hold up the protective covering to keep the Chinese greeter warm. Since the Pit Stop was right next to the river and it was a really cold winter night, there were a few helpers who would help cover the greeter (probably not in perfect health due to his large body frame) from the cold.
The first was taken in between the second to the last team and the last team to arrive. And the rest were pictures of Phil talking to the last team to arrive. All photos were taken after the second to last team had already checked in and left the area. My friend and I ran up to the area just as the second to last team were hugging each other and speaking to Phil.
I dont have many pictures to show because they initially refused to let us take photos. ........ So I was only able to get pictures of the last team to the Pit Stop. In the photos, you will see the Chinese greeter (in full costume), Phil, and the male/male team that I think is Louie and Michael (tall and short males). The photo was taken just before the last team arrived and after they had "checked-in" and Phil has that short conversation with them.
I dont have many pictures to show because they initially refused to let us take photos.......So I was only able to get pictures of the last team to the Pit Stop.
The last 2 teams to check in were both male/male teams. Judging from the CBS website of the cast, I would say that the second to the last team was Daniel and Jordan and the last team was Louie and Michael. The second to the last team to check in were male/male and they weren't wearing cowboy hats (my assumption is that the cowboy team wears their hats throughout the race? I have no idea, haha). This second to the last team actually ran past my friend and me, but they ran in the wrong direction because a few minutes later they doubled back in the direction of the Pit Stop. The last team to check in was a tall male and a shorter male. They arrived at the Pit Stop almost 2 hours after the team before them. It seemed like Phil talked to the last team for quite awhile.
I think that is all that I have. I only saw the Pit Stop area and none of the tasks.
All photos were taken after the hatless m/m team had already checked in and left the area. My friend and I ran up to the area just as the hatless m/m team were hugging each other and speaking to Phil.
Sorry I don't have pictures of any more teams. But the other team I saw were definitely m/m and they didn't have any cowboy hats on. Maybe they decided to take their hats off during that part of the race? It was a little windy near the river and maybe they didn't want their hats to fly off?
I see something here (http://sh.edushi.com/?oid=15696), across the river from the starbucks; it has a similar shape, but the name translates only as "new bund building."
It's south of the Mcbain building. Look at the building with the cupolas next to the Attica (http://wikimapia.org/3482950/Attica) nightclub.
Here's the English (http://www.icexpat.com/nm_AddressDetails;mid_EXP0eq22949.shtml) and translated Chinese (http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.91office.cn%2Foffdetail9720.htm&sl=zh-CN&tl=en) version (click the thumbnail to enlarge). It's not big enough to be listed with Emporis, but I found a streetview (http://sh.city8.com/panosearch-pid3254380_F8KD-ptz218_19_90-ctps-sn_city8.html) for you. And here's (http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g308272-d803728-Starbucks-Shanghai.html#19445576) a shot of the Starbucks taken from the ShangriLa hotel.
is a herdsman from Inner Mongolia, China, who was recognized by Guinness World Records as one of the world's tallest living men.
Yes...refer to the Timeline thread for that discussion...
This means two legs in Shanghai, right?
ran into the Amazing Race today on the way to Bariloche, gave a team my map, now i don't know where the *** i am. December 2, 2009 at 6:46pm
Santiago was cool, but still a big city and only having a week left in South America, i wanted to see some Patagonia. I looked into flights to El Calafate but they were supes expensive, so i went to the Bus station and hopped on a bus going south. On this bus was a camera crew and pairs of Americans that seemed to be working in teams. A guy from one of the teams came to the back of the bus and asked if anyone spoke english. Well next thing i know, he surreptitiously starts talking to me and asks if i knew where we were, where we were going, if i could change some currency for them and if i had any maps they could have. Hmmmmmm putting 2 and 2 together i realized i was on a bus with the Amazing Race. Well i helped the team, which was a father and daughter from SoCal, out as much as i could until they were off running, chased by cameras, looking for their rental car parked along some random st. Bariloche is where i ended up and where i stayed till it was time to head back to Santiago for my flight to New Zealand. Its an picturesque mtn town nestled amongst lakes, forests, and peaks in the lakes district of Argentina, and the weather there was spectacular.
[ Notice all the minders they have on the ridgeline watching foroutsiders.Chateau.
Fixed. ;)
Thanks for the location!! :jumpy:
So....Teams travel by bus Santiago to Bariloche on 12/2..... or somewhere in between?? ??? Slowhatch has pointed out that while Jebber went to Bariloche, teams could have exited before hand. per slowhatch, there doesn't seem to be any direct lines Santiago-Bariloche; bus passengers connect to another service in Osorno or Puerto Montt and make the final leg to Bariloche.
Cool Thanks, yeah the pick is of everyone grabbing their gear, teams and camera crews, as they were dropped off about an hour out of Bariloche. We were on a bus coming from Osorno. I think they were dropped around Villa de la Angostra, and they had to end up at some Bar called the Old Joint (although it must be a nickname cuz i couldnt find it). Their team was supposedly not doing too well. The Dad was Smitty, and him and his daughter were from San Diego. She goes to Pepperdine University. Thats all i remember.. oh and something about a poker game
Ciao
It never rains but it pours....having an interesting spoiler day!! :yess:Peach,
Back on Dec 2, there was a FB post that said:Quoteran into the Amazing Race today on the way to Bariloche, gave a team my map, now i don't know where the *** i am. December 2, 2009 at 6:46pm
I promptly wrote him, asked about the where/when/what/who of the sighting, and then never heard back.
Turns out that is becasuse he is on the road on a fabulous round the world journey...
Anyway, just got a message that his blog had been updated with a description of the events and two photos. So enjoy!!QuoteSantiago was cool, but still a big city and only having a week left in South America, i wanted to see some Patagonia. There is a pic of Steve and Alli I believe, and one of a group of racers looking as though they are rearranging their gear...
Will link to the blog and the pics...it is halfway down the 1/24 post!! :hearts:

It is sad. And seeing that he probably suffers from sort of a pituitary problem causung gigantism, and has skeletal problems, both slowhatch and I thought it seems rather cruel to have him waiting for hours there in the cold. :(
It appears that the buses from Puerto Varas go through Osorno and Villa la Angostura on the way to Bariloche.
It's possible that they had a task in Angostura (possibly involving bitters) before the pit stop in Bariloche.
chill_sd,
It is possible that teams went north from Puerto Varas to Osorno to then east to Villa Angostura instead of directly east from Puerto Vaaras to get to Bariloche. However, if you look at a road map of Argentina you would conclude that WRP would not send teams an extra 120 miles to go via Osorno. It was (and is) summer in Chile so there should be no problematic local road conditions on either route.
maybe a bunch of teams came to the same conclusion?
and then found out that they were on the wrong bus?
Did you see the picture?? Multiple teams...
Or a different bus.

i think we can now update the last unknown country, Germany
http://www.tvguide.com/detail/tv-show.aspx?tvobjectid=299761&more=ucepisodelist&episodeid=14396511
Not necessarily Hooky. We can have EITHER Germany or England but not both, if we believe 8 countries. France is sure because of the WWI reenactment.
We have a discepency here...we have a newspaper article from earlier saying teams go to Germany. We have a media article saying teams go to England...one of them is wrong. I don't know where TV guide got their info..if it is a press relaease the rest of us don't have it yet (and according to puddin, won't until after ep 3). So hard to say if we believe their info yet or not.
I think we may have to just wait and see. Since we don't know where the TV Guide info orginates from, I am reluctant to give up on Liverpool just yet, but it may well be Germany instead. :duno:
ANd we don't know for sure that France precedes the Seychelles, but that does seem more likely than Seychelles>>France.
CBS should update the episode title tonight around 9pm ET so .....

Bye Liverpool! :(Quote03/07 60 Minutes Amazing Race 16 - We Are No Longer in the Bible Belt (Germany)
So..Argentina>>Germany>>France>>Seychelles??
and will add here that I think Fort Seclin is very probable for the WWI reenactment. (http://planetsmilies.net/angel-smiley-5097.gif)
And which other location will be the last double leg??
We have 2 in Chile, 2 in Singapore (I think?? ??? ) and 2 in Shanghai...so we need one more double, right??
I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Seychelles!! :yess:
Bringing this over from Sailing's find in spec:
It appears that it may be Liverpool instead of Hamburg, based on this press release:

Do you know when the episode of the amazing race you appear in will be broadcast?
I know its pretty far fetched, or maybe he thinks that Singapore is part of Malaysia.
