Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho on Next Season of The Amazing Race
Lance Bradley | July 21, 2009 at 1:10 pm

It appears that Jean-Robert Bellande and Annie Duke may soon have some company when it comes to pro poker players making a name for themselves on a reality television series.

Sources close to CBS have confirmed that the upcoming season of The Amazing Race will include two professional female poker players playing as a team but would not confirm the identities of those players.

A forum poster at RealityFanForum.com may have done that already having recently snapped photos of contestants as the race began and one of those photos clearly showed Maria Ho. Her partner on the race is rumored to be Tiffany Michelle whose recent decision to preclude herself from the World Series of Poker Main Event however put her at the top of the list of the suspects.

On her blog just before the start of the Main Event Michelle wrote “It’d have to be something pretty big to deter me from the WSOP Championship Event this year and trust me, IT IS!  I can’t disclose much right now but I’ll be leaving to film a project for a month and it conflicts with the Main Event. …  This project and my part are very huge and it’s an opportunity is just too good to pass up.  At the end of the day, acting and performing have always been my passion, in fact it’s how I fell into poker to begin with and I never want to lose sight of that part of my life and career.”

Pre-production filming for The Amazing Race began July 12 in Los Angeles with the actual race beginning July 15. Michelle has not sent out a tweet since July 13 when she let the world know she was filming a project.

“Couple days into filming & I’m having a blast, lovin’ the cast & crew but remembering how long filming days can be. Love being back on set!,” wrote the last woman standing from the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Michelle or Ho however may not have been the first choice of the shows producers.

Back on May 14, Evelyn Ng posted on her Twitter account that she had been preparing for a spot on a reality TV series only to find out that Canadians weren’t eligible to participate.

“spent 2 days preparing to be cast for a reality show (it was in the bag), only to find out that Canadians aren’t elligible. FML … it was a big network reality show,” wrote Ng. According to the official application form only American citizens living in the United States are eligible.

This news came shortly after Bellande, who appeared on CBS’ Survivor in 2007, posted on 2+2 indicating that friends of his were looking to cast two female poker players for an upcoming reality show.  Some believe that Ng was one of the original choices of producers as was Lacey Jones.

The Amazing Race begins airing on CBS on September 27.

Next ArticleOnline Poker Examiner CBS's 'Amazing Race' to feature poker players Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho

July 22, 11:46 AM

Rumors are flying as to the identities of the two poker players who will be appearing on CBS's reality show "The Amazing Race'.  When CBS announced two poker players would be appearing --but refused to divulge their identities-- the poker community focused its collective power of observation to the task of uncovering the two poker players selected.

A poster for the upcoming season has one cast member, who has a striking resemblance to Maria Ho. UPDATE: The picture is of Maria Ho waiting to start the race. The alleged photo was taken at LAX according to a member of RealityFanForum.com.

Furthermore, Ho's friend, Tiffany Michelle's (who missed the WSOP for what she called, "an opportunity she couldn't pass up") Twitter and Facebook pages have her on set for the next month, but she hasn't divulged the set!

With the recent success of poker players on reality shows --Jean Robert Bellande on Survivor, and Annie Duke's show-stealing Celebrity Apprentice run-- it's no wonder The Amazing Race chose to showcase two more poker players: Not to mention both Tiffany and Maria are easy on the eyes, which is a big part of the Amazing Race's appeal.

So, while nothing is official, it appears that Tiffany and Maria will be away from the tables for a spell.

Life, Truth, and Blueberries

TAR 15 -- from an Unexpected source

It seems that a relative of one of the women I know from Stony Brook U is in Tokyo Japan. The woman said that two pairs of Amazing Racers had run past the relative. Didn't say where or what they were doing, so it's not quite a true spoiler. And there were pix, but not shared. Also, she's a Big Brother fan who despises TAR. (:P)

That got me thinking: with the wireless technology and the prevalence of Twitter worldwide, can anyone hide anything anymore? In the case of Amazing Race, the TAR Detectives get such incredible detail on everything, long before anything airs. I don't read spoilers until it airs, but I'm sure Chateau has the airport covered and the camera angles figured, Apskip's got the flight numbers and arrival times, and Neobie's got the leg mapped out. It's incredible. But fortunately, they're fans. They love the show and they're sane (as far as any fanship is 'sane'...) Think what would happen in the hands of people who are, er, less supportive and less sane, like, say, someone who's stalking a star, or trying to undermine a rival, not to mention terrorists or spys or Big Brother fans. Go to a mountain in Tibet, some monk's Twittering from the next mountain over. Or a tundra location in Yakutia in Siberia -- the bears have their own YouTube accounts. The amount of evidence can be astounding, and that makes chasing it down for a live event so much fun.

But it's also just a bit scary. Technology has redefined privacy in a way that makes it impossible to hold as a near-absolute right above all else. It has become what it really was all along - a right to be held in the context of all other rights, and defended as such. And it is dealt with in the breach more than in fact, in typical human fashion. How to handle it from there, I don't know.

Amazing Race 15 cast includes Miss America 2004, Harlem Globetrotters, pro poker players Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle

The Amazing Race 15 »  reality blurred  by Andy Dehnart / July 23, 2009, 12:42 PM

The 15th season of The Amazing Race is currently being produced, so its cast has not yet officially been revealed. But as the race started, some of the teams were photographed and subsequently identified, and among its cast members are two professional poker players, two members of the Harlem Globtrotters, and a former Miss America.

Reality Fan Forum has done an amazing job of stalking and identifying the cast based on cell phone photos and other information from the start of the race, which apparently began in the Los Angeles River (yet another L.A. start for the race).

Using photos of cast members at the airport, they’ve named, with pretty high degrees of certainty, a number of cast members.
Those include Miss America 2004 Ericka Dunlap and her husband Brian Kleinschmidt, Harlem Globetrotters Nate “Big Easy” Lofton and Herbert “Flight Time” Lang, and pro poker players Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle.

Bluff magazine reported on the poker player team, running down the evidence, including that they were photographed at LAX on July 15, when the race was expected to begin, and Michelle stopped using Twitter July 13 after blogging that she is skipping the World Series of Poker championship because “I’ll be leaving to film a project for a month and it conflicts with the Main Event.” However, she also wrote that “acting and performing have always been my passion,” and one would hope being on TAR doesn’t involve any acting.

If all of these check out, and they seem to, there are a lot of relatively well-known or medium-profile contestants on a single season, particularly since so many of them are performers, which may suggest some kind of themed casting. Adding to that, a report on Reality Fan Forum says that one team is a lesbian couple who are synchronized swimmers in a Cirque de Soleil show (O?) in Las Vegas. >>not currently thought to be correct (peach)

Can Tiffany Michelle Keep Up To The Pace In "The Amazing Race"? NO!!

"Tiffany Michelle"
July 30, 2009
We have all heard of the TV show “The Amazing Race”. Promise people an obscene amount of money and watch them travel all over the globe in a quest to win it. Well on September 27th, when the 15th instalment of the CBS reality show kicks off, ex-PokerNews presenter and infamous poker “pro”, Tiffany Michelle will be part of the series! The Ultimate Bet Pro will need to have all of her best poker wits about her if she is going to take home the big prize! PokerNetwork can confirm that Michelle is among the cast for the TV show which has been extremely popular in the US, even winning an Emmy.

The rumours going around at the moment suggest that Michelle will team up with Maria Ho on this fantastic race around the globe. CBS has not released the cast of characters who will battle against the duo on the “Amazing Race.”

Michelle and Ho apart from having spectacular surnames when put together, represent the Last Women Standing in the 2008 and 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Events, respectively. Michelle, known in the poker world as “Hot Chips,” (allegedly due to her fetish with the traditional English snack) scored a very pleasurable $334,000 for her 17th place finish in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. I am sure you will agree that it is not her play that stuck in the hearts and minds of poker fans worldwide but more the situation when she called the clock in a key hand at a vital stage of the tournament featuring Scott Montgomery and Paul Snead.

Montgomery had moved in with A 4 after a flop of J 3 10 against Snead’s J 7 . It would cost Snead a decent chunk of his stack to make the call and because of this was an extremely crucial moment for both players Michelle, who appeared somewhat ambivalent of the player’s situation, called the clock and Snead called Montgomery, only to be a victim of an ace on the river. November Nine member Craig Marquis quipped, “Really not cool” to Michelle after the hand was over.

Ho earned $237,000 for her 38th place in the 2007 WSOP Main Event. She has been back in the spot light this year after finishing a very commendable 11th in the $10,000 buy-in World Championship of Limit Hold’em during the WSOP for a very tidy $41,000.

In case you have been living under a rock since 2001, “The Amazing Race” is one of reality television’s most well-known brands. This year, Phil Keoghan (The Host) is nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

In previous seasons,“The Amazing Race” has had first prizes of up to a million dollars! The show works quite simply, teams of two race around the world and attempt to beat their competitors and pass some challenges on the way. At the end of the majority of legs, the last team to arrive is eliminated. Last season, countries visited included Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Romania, Russia, India, Thailand, and China. The contestants travelled over 64,000km and, in the end, siblings Tammy and Victor crossed the finish line first in Hawaii.

Reportedly joining Michelle and Ho on the show is a host of exciting stars from all facets of the entertainment industry; they are believe to include two Harlem Globetrotters, Miss America 2004, and a lesbian Cirque de Soleil couple appearing on show.

Does Tiffany Michelle have what it takes to take down the big prize? We’ll certainly keep an eye on her progress when the new series gets underway on the 27th of September!

Poker Players on Reality TV: Good or Bad for the Game?
By Dan Cypra for POKER NEWS DAILY | Posted on August 18, 2009

Several poker superstars have joined the cast of reality shows in recent years. Bodog pro Jean-Robert Bellande was a castaway on the CBS reality hallmark “Survivor.” Annie Duke finished as the runner-up to Joan Rivers on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.” Now, Tiffany Michelle will likely join Maria Ho on “Amazing Race.” Poker News Daily sat down with former PokerStars Marketing Director Dan Goldman to discuss whether these appearances are beneficial or hurtful to the game.

Poker News Daily: What are your thoughts on Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho appearing on the 15th installment of CBS’ “Amazing Race”?

Goldman: These are two interesting characters. Tiffany is controversial, but I don’t think that makes her appearance negative. She’s controversial, but not despised, which could make for interesting television. My personal sense is that among people who know what’s going on with Ultimate Bet, I’m not sure there’s not a lot that can be done to rehabilitate the site’s image. One of the advantages of shows like “Amazing Race” is that they’re reaching an audience wider than poker and that’s what Ultimate Bet needs.

PND: Can you compare Tiffany Michelle’s “Amazing Race” appearance to Annie Duke’s performance on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice”?

Goldman: Annie is tightly associated with poker. Tiffany and Maria have their own aura that potentially transcends poker. They are two young, attractive women and will be a bit more interesting to a wider audience than Annie. They are, for the most part, unknown outside of poker.

PND: Tiffany Michelle is a member of Team UB. Is there any downside to the online poker site for her to appear on the show?

Goldman: I don’t think there’s a downside for Ultimate Bet. What’s the worst thing that could happen? It’s not like people are going to flee Ultimate Bet because her team didn’t act well. Their worst-case scenario for Ultimate Bet is that nothing happens. The best-case scenario is that a new audience will learn about them.

PND: Do you plan to watch “Amazing Race” when it debuts on September 27th on CBS?

Goldman: I watched the first season of the show and sort of liked it. I’m not a big fan of reality shows in general. If I watched one, it’d be this because it’s the best of an uninteresting brand of television. I’m obviously in the minority here, but the fact that a poker player is on it doesn’t affect me.

PND: When you were with PokerStars, was there any talk of using reality television as a marketing vehicle for your players?

Goldman: We talked about it, but briefly. We always stayed fairly close to poker. We did talk at length about doing a reality show centered on poker or one that had significant components of poker. We talked about doing a “Big Brother”-type show with a handful of poker players and a handful of people who were smart, but weren’t poker players. The goal was see if we could educate a non-poker crowd. We investigated it and there was some interest from networks, but not enough for them to fund development. It would have been a significant expense.

PND: What was the feedback you received from networks?

Goldman: It was poker and this was in 2004. Their feeling was if the show had poker, they wanted to hear about it. At least one of the networks was willing to do it as a partnership, but we decided that there were other ways to invest the millions of dollars that would have had more impact. PokerStars was a much different company back then than it is now.

PND: ESPN.com releases a weekly poker news show, “Inside Deal,” with Bernard Lee and Laura Lane that is sponsored by PokerStars. Have you watched it?

Goldman: It’s not bad. I think there’s a lot more they could do with it. If I were doing it, the show would be in smaller doses and more like “Entertainment Weekly.” It’d be a 15 minute show with short two to four minute segments, but it’s interesting. Bernard Lee is better than I thought he would be.

PND: Do you think there’s a market for a show like “Inside Deal” on television?

Goldman: I don’t think there’s a broad enough audience. If you did it once or twice a week for 15 minutes, it could attract an audience if you figured out where to put it. The show probably should tag along with a World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker episode. Stuff like this does better online and has longer legs. If it can be promoted properly, it has a lot of potential.

I see that CBS has posted a bunch of "teasers" about various premiers scheduled for Sept. 20 to 27 - but no TAR cast  :'(
Should be soon though.

I also note that according to this http://www.cbspressexpress.com/div.php/cbs_entertainment/original?id=4844&dpid=56 (http://www.cbspressexpress.com/div.php/cbs_entertainment/original?id=4844&dpid=56) - TAR 15 still premiers Sept. 5, 2001  :duno:

walkingpneumonia,

You have an interesting typo. AR1 did indeed premiere Sept. 5, 2001. However, AR15 is slightly more than 8 years later.

There is actually no typo on the CBS PressExpress page. It clearly says that TAR15 premieres on September 27, 2009. Where it says Premiere: Sept. 5, 2001, there are referring to the premiere of the entire series which was of course 9/5/2001.

premier

I have a pet peeve about this word. As spelled, it means the head position in certain forms of government, sometimes used interchangably with "prime minister."

The word you are lookimg for is "premiere."

Post by: apskip on August 27, 2009, 01:55:41 PM
I really don't want to undermine the schnauzers point because I believe in good spelling and grammar and use of the correct word. However, the word premier in its current usage can occasionally mean first, which for an event is also the main definition of premiere. In the case in question which started this line of logic, the word "premier" was mixed with the word "premiere." I consider that unacceptable and with the schnauzers I strongly prefer the use of "premiere" for such events.

2old4tech,

You are looking at the "missing time frame" for the AR14 Guilin leg. We know that teams arrive there early enough to accomplish something that evening yet no tasks were televised. The production plan had them walking up the Folding Brocade Mountain/Hill to apparently sleep outdoors somewhere near the top, then descend the next morning to get to the beauty salon. Your photo is on the walk either up or down Folding Brocade Mountain/Hill.

So I figured that this is most likely the best place to discuss this question: When will the cast release be? We may already know who they are (see spoilers), but for me it is still very exciting to "officially" meet the cast for the first time.

I seem to recall that previous releases were usually on a Monday, thus I would think it would be tomorrow (Monday), but the problem is Labor Day. Do we think they will do it on Tuesday instead, or go ahead with Monday regardless?

Or will they pull something drastic on us and wait until the day the show begins? :ascared

Hooky, it's senseless to lose any sleep on something you have no control over. We are inside of 3 weeks prior so it could be any of the next 20 days, but unlikely to be in the week starting Sept. 20.

I'm not trying to "lose sleep" or bring forward whatever unusual idea about my question you may have, I'm just trying to address the fact that even if the cast were released now it would be a rather late release, wouldn't it? Anyone who has expertise in this area want to enlighten me?

'The Amazing Race': Is UCF's Miss America taking part?
posted by halboedeker on Sep 8, 2009 8:16:20 AM

Is Orlando native Ericka Dunlap -- Miss America 2004 -- on "The Amazing Race" this season?

That's the hot rumor on the Internet. CBS won't announce the cast until tomorrow.

Dunlap earned a degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. She was the first African-American to win the Miss Florida title. (Dunlap is pictured enjoying her victory after being crowned Miss America in 2003.)

According to Internet buzz, Dunlap and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt, are taking part in the CBS show.

The 15th edition of "The Amazing Race" will have a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. Sept. 27.

From the press release:

Quote
Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri and Amy Chacon are the executive producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Earthview Inc. in association with ABC Studios and Amazing Race Productions. THE AMAZING RACE was created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri.

Elise got another promotion. Previously she was listed as a producer in the early seasons, and then as a co-executive producer.

Since TAR really was her idea, it's about time she got the EP title.

Contestants in The Amazing Race;s 15th installment begin their frenzied sprint around the world in Los Angeles and immerdiately jet off to Toyko, where things get rather spicy. "We threw'em right in the middle of a Japenese game show , where there's a couple hundred people cheering them on and jsut going berserk," says exec producer Bertram Van Munster."They have to eat this unbelievable wasabi bomb. And that's just the introduction!" The 21 day race, which also hits countries as Estonia, offers and array of contestants including Harlem Globetrotters, female professional poker players (who prove to be "tough as nails"), a man with Asperger's syndrome, and yes, a highly combustible husband/wife tandem. ("This guy was so frustrated with something, I thought he was going to break his hand," notes Van Munster.) And we're extremely curious to watch the roadblock: "We have a challenge that involves 2,000 animals," boasts van Munster. "I have tried this for years and finally pulled it off. It will make you laugh and cry."

:yess: to the DUCKS!! I agree that this is a very good possibility... "herding ducks".

And I wonder if the combustible team could be Lance and Keri?? They weren't married then, but are now so could also be perhaps considered the husband/wife team... could be a BVM taking liberties quote.

Brian didn't give me the "highly combustible" vibe in their video, but Lance? Maybe!  All spec on my part...

Who in Chateau's video audio are they referring to as the "tightly wired" guy....might be the same.

At this point, I know that AR15 is not going to the Philippines. The Duck Farm concept has been unused before in AR5. All 4 teams in episode 11 had the DETOUR option of herding 1000 ducks from one pen to another 50 yards away. Not one was interested, so we did not get to see this DETOUR. The other option was the infamous muddy field to be plowed by a human guiding an ox and that led to an Amazing Race legend.

Amazing Show 'The Amazing Race' Set For 15th Season On CBS
September 14, 2009 3:24 p.m. EST

Matt Aug - CNS Special Contributor
Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - It took amazing people to create a show like The Amazing Race.

The show has enjoyed a remarkable run by almost any standard, with its 15th installment set to begin September 27 on CBS.

The driving force behind the show is Elise Doganieri, a co-creator of the reality program along with her husband Bertram van Munster, a former producer of another long-running reality series, 'Cops'.

The Amazing Race takes diverse teams of two people from across the United States and literally has them 'race' across the world in a series of trips with mental and physical tasks interwoven in each episode.

Ably hosted by the cool but approachable Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race has become a winner with TV viewers and critics alike with seven Emmy wins, including all six "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" since the category was created.

Ratings and awards can come and go, however, so the show must credit something larger for its sustained success: heart.

"I used to complain there was nothing good on television," Doganieri said in a recent phone interview on her way to her Los Angeles offices. "So I had the opportunity to do something about it."

Although Doganieri has been around the world in her travels, she has not forgotten her roots.

Doganieri grew up in Port Jefferson Station, a formerly small town on the eastern part of Long Island, New York where she attended the Comsewogue School District.

While she has worked with some of the most established people in television, like the show's executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and Amazing Race airs on the legendary CBS network, Doganieri still appreciates the shows reach to the "average" viewer.

Doganieri is quite proud, for instance, that a teacher she had utilizes the show as a learning tool in her classroom.

"I was so honored that one of my elementary school teachers, Mrs. Gold, reached out to tell me she discusses the show with her students," Doganieri said. "I think we created a show that is inspirational and has had a positive effect on people around the world."

That won't change this season, either, as The Amazing Race will still do what it has become famous for; pulse-pounding, beat-the-clock competitions.

Doganieri said new elements will also be introduced into the show to keep it fresh and potentially attract more viewers.

"Although the show has gotten big we need to remain creative," Doganieri said. "There is a major twist coming to the show this season, for instance, something that will shock viewers."

'Shock value' is not something one thinks of when it comes to The Amazing Race, but leave it to Doganieri to chart an exciting new course for the show.

When it comes to reality television the Amazing Race is a rather amazing show, and the humble and appreciative Doganieri must take her share of the credit for that.

Matt Aug is AHN's Sports Editor and attended Comsewogue Junior High School with Doganieri.

This morning's Newark Star-Ledger had an article by national TV critic Alan Sepinwall projecting who will win the Emmy award in several categories. Two of those categories are near and dear to our hearts. Sepinwall projects that:

The Amazing Race will win Outstanding Reality-Competition Program

and Phil Keoghan will win Outstanding Reality-Copmetition Host.

Let's hope he is right!

Season 15 may have been taken in a few different places.  At least one of the locations may be at the CBS Studio Center in L.A.  The sat dishes seem to match the ones at the Studio Center.  Might they have been taken near the Bungalow area overlooking the sat dishes and the concrete lined river beyond?   ;D  Perhaps.   ;)  OK, I'm bored... how many mud pits can you look for in a day...

INSIDE THE AMAZING RACE -- Week three on the CBS hit "Amazing Race", and the Race's oldest team came up short. Computer dating couple Marcy Maloy (who is 60) and her boyfriend, Roy Shalita (59) took way too much time solving a word challenge in Vietnam. I'm watching Marcy & Ron on the Saturay Morning show, its a new segment they will have the eliminated team each week  :yess:

when asked who they would like to see in these chairs next week Marcy replies
that they are not happy that Sam and Dan called them grandma and grandpa now that they have seen the race.
Ron tells us that we have no idea how physically demanding it is and how hot an humid it was in HCMC.
Ron is happy with his editing , he was steamed but he was shown as layed back.

Ill see if I could make a video, if not hopefully CBS puts it up online.

This is a great interview with Zev & Justin.  The address the 1st place prize.....Zev rejected it because he doesn't drive.

---------
Amazing Race's Justin Takes the Blame for Losing Zev's Passport
Link: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Amazing-Races-Justin-1010806.aspx (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Amazing-Races-Justin-1010806.aspx)

For the second time in three seasons, a lost passport did in a team on The Amazing Race. Friends Zev Glassenberg, 26, and Justin Kanew, 30, went from leg winners to disqualified racers after Zev's passport went MIA. "We saw [the season] when Toni and Dallas lost theirs. I guess misery loves company," Justin tells TVGuide.com. "I'm glad we weren't the only idiots!" So where and how did they lose the passport? Find out below, and see if Zev really is a duck whisperer.

TVGuide.com: In the Elimination Station clip, you retrieved the passport at the U.S. Embassy and figured out the passport fell out in a temple. What happened?
Justin: Yeah, the clue that took us to the monkey Roadblock said you had to be quiet when you're around the monks, so we assumed we had to go inside the monastery. It was really dark in there and I reached into my fanny pack to pull out a headlight and it must've slipped out then. When they told us where they found it, we realized what happened. It was so dark [the camera guys] couldn't even get what happened. It was probably 15 minutes after we checked in that we realized it was missing. But I take the blame!

TVGuide.com: You guys were so calm then and throughout the whole show. How did you keep your cool after that went down?
Zev: We were just doing our own thing and having fun with it. That's the way we ran our race. We didn't want to get angry or anything. Sometimes things just happen.
Justin: Zev was more calm than I was — and it was his passport. We wanted to avoid the pratfalls of having animosity toward each other, so we went to therapy with Zev's shrink before the race and talked about how we were going to cooperate and I think it really worked. One of the things we said was that no matter what happened, we would be good to each other and keep calm. That was the only thing we could control. I think also you could tell when we got back out there we knew it was over for us. There wasn't a lot that could hold you up for too long on the leg.

TVGuide.com: Other than the end, you ran an awesome leg, going from second-to-last to first. What contributed to that?
Justin: Our strategy, which we didn't really plan, but it was to get a local to stay with us the entire leg. We did it pretty much every leg except for the duck whisperer one. It paid off on this one because we got this great cab driver who knew where we were going and was fast. That's just the luck of the draw the whole race — getting a good cab driver or a slow cab driver. Most of the time we got slow ones, but we were blessed with a good dude that day.

TVGuide.com: They didn't announce a prize for you guys. Was that edited out because you eventually got eliminated?
Justin: It was probably the line of the episode, but it got edited out. We won motorcycles and after Phil told us, Zev goes, "Motorcycle?! I can barely drive a car!"
Zev: What am I going to do with a motorcycle? My mom's not going to let me drive a motorcycle.
Justin: I don't think anyone's ever rejected a prize before, but that's what he did. But I don't think we'll be getting those motorcycles. I don't think you'll be seeing us riding on [Highway] 1 with wind blowing in our hair.

TVGuide.com: You can go on All-Stars and win more prizes.
Zev: Yes! Start the campaign now!

TVGuide.com: Why did only a few teams recognize Jackie Kennedy in the photo?
Zev: I did! Not Justin though. Just Zev! [Laughs]
Justin: Yeah, I didn't. Zev's good like that. I don't know why, but since I didn't, I can't really talk down to anybody. ... I didn't think it was Queen Elizabeth, so that's good!

TVGuide.com: You guys came into this as the "feel-good story" because Zev has Asperger's. Were you OK with that label?
Zev: I just went along with it and did my thing. I've had Asperger's since I was 11 and it's who I am. It didn't weigh on me at all.
Justin: One of the amazing things that's come out of this that has been totally overwhelming has been this outpour[ing] of love and support from people with Asperger's, parents of people with Asperger's about how inspired they are and how they love seeing our relationship and all that. For us, that just made the whole thing more than we thought it could be.

TVGuide.com: Zev, are you really a duck whisperer?
Zev: The tape does not lie!
Justin: People have been asking if he's really that good with ducks and the answer is a capital "yes." I could not believe what I was seeing, especially since there were all these people struggling with this. I thought we were in trouble and then it was like he was whispering to these ducks. He could've told them what to do without the flags and they would've done it. He was just calm and cool. He's great with kids too. He just relates to other living things on this level that some people can't.
Zev: I love to eat duck, so they were probably afraid I was going to eat them.

The commercial aired at an odd time, I think it was between Gary Unmarried and New Christine but still a nice shout out to TAR, they have been airing the EP11 promos often today.

Absolutely true. What I read months ago somewhere on RFF was a reference to housing values being about half what they were in boom times and all new projects being dead in the water due to no funding, the by-product of Dubai's financial crisis.

Well the last episode of Vampire Diaries (Shut Up!) has one of the Vamps tell his brother they could go apply for the Amazing Race.

Not often I here another show reference TAR, and very surprised to see it on one of the CW shows (even if CBS own half of the CW).

Well, even the CW website and media contacts are at CBS.  But a team of vampire brothers would be interesting.  ;D

A Fight To The Finish On The Amazing Race
Gambling News - November 28th, 2009 - Written by Bonnie
With five teams still remaining, Sam & Dan, Flight Time & Big and Easy, Brian & Ericka, Meghan & Cheyne, and Zen & Justin, it may just be time to let the team work speak for itself. Cheyne and Meghan made their first move by stealing the taxi of another team they agreed to work with. Meghan was displeased with the behavior, to say the least, but it will eventually help her to understand the meaning behind the words race and competition. While some players, such as Brian, have chosen to take the high moral ground and not participate in ugly behavior, others fight to put themselves one step closer to the finish line. The players that continue to play "dirty" as some may call it, may need to refer back to the statement, " Karma can come back to bite you, so beware".

Entertainment Betting is your link to getting in on all The Amazing Race action, and hopefully walking away with a cash prize of your own. Bookmaker Sportsbook has betting odds on who will win this season of The Amazing Race and it is not to late for you to place your wager and cheer on your team to the next check in point.

SAM & DAN +150
FLIGHT TIME & BIG EASY +300
BRIAN & ERICKA +200
MEGHAN & CHEYNE +200
ZEV & JUSTIN +600

If only they didn't misspell Zev, Mika & Canaan, Maria & Tiffany, Lance & Keri and Marcy & Ron, I wouldn't have complaints about the article. :funny:

I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere but the Producers Guild announce their nominees and TAR was one of them up against Idol, either Top Chief (or RProject Runway) Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
