Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I've got a possible casting spoiler. Here's my detective work.
Background: I play poker on a pretty regular basis and am active on a message board. A few months ago former Survivor: China contestant and professional poker pro Jean-Robert Bellande started a thread requesting help for input on who we as a poker community think would be a good casting decision for a reality show. Now, about three weeks ago word came out that last year's final female remaining in the World Series of Poker main event, Tiffany Michelle, would not return to play the event this year. It's curious because she could get backing for the $10,000 event from any of the major sites. She wrote a statement saying she had a chance to travel and do some acting. Very vague. Finally, this week's podcast on PokerRoad Radio with Norman Chad has rumors of her being on TAR. It's on itunes if you have interest.
Final thoughts: with Jean-Robert having been on Survivor we know there have been cross-casting instances before. This smells pretty strong to me. I'd wager a solid amount Tiffany Michelle is going to be on TAR and that they will leave soon considering the main event just ended yesterday.

It's possible she could be in the running for S20, but that doesn't even start filming for about a month, and she wouldn't be back until mid-September, which sounds like a longer time frame than she's implying. She also implies it's an acting job. Still, possible.

Hey y’all, I was hoping to get in tons of blogging during the WSOP, but alas, my schedule simply did not afford me the time. However, I hope you guys were able to check out my Blogfessionals on PokerRoad as well as my tweets for some quickie updates. A short synopsis of my finer moments this summer was barely missing the final table by finishing 11th in the 10k Limit Hold ‘em Championship, and the awesome learning experience I had as being an on-camera hostess for wsop.com.
I really wanted to get this short blog in before I head home to the motherland (Taiwan/China), to visit some relatives to close out my summer and then it’s back to the felt for me.

Again, just speculation, but since Tiffany has improved her game over the past few years. There's no way she would miss out on the richest and most important poker tournament for a (small) film project. Especially as the defending and unofficial Last Woman Standing (TM) champion. Or maybe she actually might, but when Bellande miss out two years ago, it was for survivor, an opportunity that can't be missed.
Hopefully they take off today for better confirmation. As for her partner, I would look for an Asian-American partner. She has a good friend named Maria Ho, who, coincidentally, was the last female standing just a year prior. She's been pretty active in the WSOP (World Series of Poker) this year, and always tweeted her results and gave us updates. Since I follow her, I was able to notice that she did not tweet about her performance in the WSOP Main Event (known to some as the season-end Poker World Championship). She definitely would have tweeted about that (if she was in it).
Coincidentally, Maria and Tiffany both have not tweeted since early this week.

I saw about 3 or 4 teams in Terminal 4...I won't post anything redundant, but I did see a team of two tall guys running towards me...they were wearing blue shirts that said "Harlem Globetrotters" on the front - camera and audio guys trying to keep up! I was in a gift shop with the two female poker players... Just thought I would add this to the mix!
Blue team are probably the 11th team in the starting lineup and the poker players as we know have already been identified!

I'm starting to get a weird feeling about this seasons cast. I thought it was funny thet one team was professional poker players, while another seems to be (former synchronized swimmers/Olympians) circus performers,. Now I see a third may be Harlem Globetrotters. hmmmm... couild we possibly have "stunt casting"? All athletes (albeit it's a stretch calling poker players athletes) or professional performers. Possibly a "sports" theme. Tough to say with only a few teams scoped out. I hope BVM has not totally sold out for ratings, and included a few "ordinary" people to the mix. :groan: Just a thought.... carry on. ;D

Checking a few other seasons of the race, I find no evidence of them ever breaking the bags into two sections. All seem space in a row (or arc) of equal distance.
But on the car front, production always has a least one spare on sight. And based off of two season (and others) all 12 cars (11 teams and a spare) are lined up.
I think I'm going to like the poker players since there's an Asian-American woman on the team! And of course, I want an all-female team to win!

Does anyone find it odd that there is a "12" marked on "Brian's" bag? There is a "6" marked on the Red team's bags in a photo that looks identical, so if bags were numbered by team, doesn't this suggest that there might be 12 teams after all? I think I may have seen an "8" on another team somewhere but can't recall.

the first team I saw when entering the Terminal was Team # 5 - two males...they we're at the AA first class ticket area...the guy who was doing the talking was the taller, he had bleached blonde hair with red/pink highlights...a punk rocker look (although I have no idea who he was...) -- they did have orange shirts.

I don't know. I thought TAR 14 cast was perfect and i liked almost everyone of them. And when i just look at some of the contestants spoiled.. i don't think i even have an inkling whether i'll root for anyone of them or not.

I'm going to have to agree with Kiwi here. Just be patient. I can tell you're a huge fan of F/F teams, but they don't make the show. We've been lucky to get as much as we have these past 2 seasons. They arn't winning, so I guess CBS is moving on. I'm sure you'll find a few teams you like as the names continue to come out! :tup:

Yep. But we also have the older team and three or four other teams. I am truly excited for Season 15 and am happy we thought out of the box. I see special teams but not many celebs!I'm really excited as well...but I can't shake the feeling that something shady will happen this season...not complaining, it looks like a very good cast.

Does anyone find it odd that there is a "12" marked on "Brian's" bag? There is a "6" marked on the Red team's bags in a photo that looks identical, so if bags were numbered by team, doesn't this suggest that there might be 12 teams after all? I think I may have seen an "8" on another team somewhere but can't recall.
I think we have seen 12's before in previous seasons when there were only 11 teams. :duno:
Just checked and that definitely is a 12 on Brian's bag - so I also believe there are 12 teams. In a way this makes sense since there is going to be a 2 hour premiere.

-I personally think that there are 11 teams or that the 12th team has gotten lost. Older couples have previously "amazed" us (Granny's on TAR 2 for example), so the 12th team could have been outruned by the "old ones".

It is also possble that there is an alternate team standing by until the last minute, who could also have been given a team number. I do not agree that 12 #'s absolutely mean 12 teams.
It is true that while in the past the #'s corresponded to the order teams were introduced in the Opening Episode, that is no longer true and for the last couple of seasons at least, the # has been totally random.

The angles of the two photos don't match exactly but the jaw structure is an almost exact match and the distance between the eyes is the same.

Yeah, the blue team that is next to the yellow team is tall. So I think our older couple was a position number 6. The figures there look more right -sized.

Sorry to interrupt again, but this theory is not accurate, based on solid evidence from previous seasons. Based on ALL the previous seasons I have seen and known the numbers (TAR 6 and beyond), the lineup has always been random. Season 14 had this order (left to right, Phil's perspective):

We can also prove that this right to left tag order at the Starting Line isn't true because I believe you guys said the red team (the two guys) were "Team 8" going from left to right. I think the return of the strong alpha male teams may have a different outcome than early seasons. The main reason is that we now have the yield. And Marge and Luke used it the way it should be used, to disable the strongest team behind you. Hopefully we will see teams using this legitimate new adjunct to equalize the race for those not as quick or as strong.
Red team, presumably Simon and Mattox, look like another Rob/Brendan, Chip/Reichen and Chris/Alex. Hopefully we will see other teams being smart enough to use the yield.

THE AMAZING RACE!!!
I love the show! Despite the reality tv tag, it beats a hell of a lot of tv programming on the air right now. I've always wanted to be a part of the show. And today, I possibly could be! No, I did not get on as a contestant. That would be great if I did but alas, not the case. What happened was, I potentially can be seen in the background. LOL. I know, nothing much to shout about but it is my fave reality competition.
They were filming in the market I was shopping at and one pair's camera guy actually stopped and took a 5 second shot of me, winked and ran off after the couple he was attached to. I was filmed by a crew of "The Amazing Race"!! Also, I passed by multiple pairs and their camera and sound guy so hopefully I will appear in one or another shot. Yea. My claim to fame will be a background, blink-and-you'll-miss-it part in "The Amazing Race"!
All in all, I bumped into 5 pairs. The first was a male-male partnership, second was a couple who looked really miserable, third was another couple wearing matching dark blue tees and the guy was wearing a bandanna - rambo-style (this is when I got filmed), fourth was another male-male pair I think - one of em had a combo of neon green with some pink hair [/b]and lastly was a girl-girl pair - an asian chick with a white girl. The only definite film capture that I know of is when I bumped into the third pair. And that's even if he wasn't just pointing the cam in my face and pretending to take a shot :P
If it was my 5 seconds of fame shot then of course, it's all dependant on the editing guys so crossing my fingers that I don't end up on the cutting room floor. I hope to see myself on "The Amazing Race". I wish I could meet Phil though. Have a run towards the mat and do the whole jump and get checked in routine. That would be super great if that happened! those are 27 places where AR15 coudl have flown nonstop to Europe or Africa. My favorite(even though its probability is obviously less than 4%) is Istanbul because Amazing Race 7 has the only prior visit to Istanbul (except for occasional airport connections which don't count in my judgment). Istanbul is overdue. We'll see if my 4% bet has any validity.
I think the probability of teams going backwards to Australia or to anywhere else to the northeast, east of southeast in Asia are slim at best.
I think the return of the strong alpha male teams may have a different outcome than early seasons. The main reason is that we now have the yield. And Marge and Luke used it the way it should be used, to disable the strongest team behind you. Hopefully we will see teams using this legitimate new adjunct to equalize the race for those not as quick or as strong.
Red team, presumably Simon and Mattox, look like another Rob/Brendan, Chip/Reichen and Chris/Alex. Hopefully we will see other teams being smart enough to use the yield.

I actually think that a lot of the "blue team" sighting are for the Sibling and not fo the old couple - Michelle (or whatever her name is) is wearing blue at the pics from the Us.
I don't think that old but not to old can describe Marta&Garod - they look like a couple in their 60's I don't think TAR casting take people older then that - I think the "old" reference is for a couple in their 40's or early 50's.

They're definitely good friends (best to friends these days), and as mentioned upon learning that they were going to be on the show. In fact, Maria was "sweating" Tiffany last year (as in watching her dominate in the big poker tournament last summer, being in her corner); eventually Tiffany was only 16 people away from winning out of a field of over 6800 before she bowed out, courtesy of the eventual winner.
As is the norm, KF and pressure could turn them into something else, but that's just what people will see. They are pretty cool off camera. It a shame that they didn't make it even though they weren't my #1 choice of people I wanted to see win (again, they're the last women standing, go figure LOL). Ditto to the Brooks. For one thing, with TAR Finale Party in New York in December (that may or may not happen), any fans of theirs would've had a better but still non-guaranteed shot at seeing/meeting them w/ a F3 appearance. Hopefully they weren't booted too far into the race that they'll miss being on Elimination Station (esp. w/ 5 teams still in it). That would totally suck. Having said that, Herb and Nate better not blow it! Do the other detour before getting to the U-Turn in the event that you're a target, LOL!
The Globetrotters seem to be in less of a rush than the other teams at the ferry terminal in Tallin. They also do not get into a taxi, but into some kind of van that looks like a production crew van. So my guess is that the Globetrotters are Philiminated in Stockholm, and are traveling with the final four teams as a decoy (which is the usual practice in previous TARs that the last two teams do not go to sequesterville but travel along with the final teams)

In TAR, that only works POSt the actual running of the race.
Teams certainly see each other at interviews, including final nterviews, but are strictly NOT allowed any contact. And in the week pre-race, they are also sequestered and not allowed to talk to each other, and there is no Internet use.
So if they were friends PRE-race, that is VERY interesting, but tells you nothing st all about them being on the race.
TAR 12 had several people who knew each other from high school, the season with all the pageant girls knew each other from competitions, but I can't right now think of any one on the same race who really had a pre-existing friendship...can y'all? ???

THAT's what I was wanting to know!! I just wasn't understanding what you were saying. Friending each other since 8/7 does make it a slam-dunk for being on the race together.
Being friends BEFORE the race would be very interesting indeed though... I don't think that has happened before. I understand there was quite a bit of production consternation when it was realized that the pageant girls all knew each other. :lol:

I had looked for a Martha/Gerrod skydiving combo a while back and came up empty. I was looking for a skydiving match with the maroon team, as the male seems to best fit the "old, but not too old" description. Martha and Gerrod are not necessarily the skydivers. Steffi saw the skydivers in Dubai. She said they were old but not that old. From a 15 year old girl I'm thinking that could be anywhere from 35-50, but probably not older than that.

For TAR14, I believe the cast was announced January 26, 2009 for a February 15, 2009 airdate. However for TAR13, I believe the cast was announced August 19, 2008 for a September 28, 2008 airdate. Given that scenerio, I guess we could have the cast announced within a week. Of course CBS could just let the guys at RFF make the announcement for them.
Rumor has it that Survivor cast will be released Monday...can ours be far behind? ???Yeah thats what I said :lol: and speaking of Survivor 19, as far as I could tell only 2 of the cast of 18 have been spoiled.. we so rock! but have a slight advantage thanks to the amazing photos Chateau has provided .. something that is unheard of in Survivor.

My definition of "mactors" must be different than most, then. While thus us a really attractive cast, not all of them are mpdels or wannabe actors. I'm also rooting for the Father/Son team too this coming season and by the way read thier team bio on the CBS website and Matt is a fan of "Metal Music" and some Metalheads dye thier hairs different colors even pink.

I can't think of a good rerason to see the vegans in any future Amazing Race. The precedent is already set. Have you seen Billel/Said again? Their elimination was very similar to the vegans except that they got to have a trans-Pacific flight (and later one back from AR10 sequester).

I think Belle's referring to spoilers, not Zev/Justin's abilities. They were last spotted in Phnom Penh, along with Canaan & Mika and supposedly Lance & Keri. Brian & Ericka, Meghan & Cheyne, Sam & Dan are the supposed F3. Gary & Matt, Herb & Nate, Tiffany & Maria are the supposed 4th-6th placers, meaning they finish somewhere in 7th-9th place.

The TAR 15 male/male & couple teams don't actually seem to feel like the previous teams we've had. I think they're casting better male/male teams and co-ed teams. :D I'm so glad for that. :D

If this is so and we have an elimination at the end of each and an elimination before the racers leave LA then we'll be losing 3 teams on the the first night of viewing. maybe it is a no NEL season?
if there are only 10 legs, and one turned out to be a TBC, that would leave room for one team to be eliminated at the start, and have the rest of the legs be straight eliminations
but, this is ONLY SPEC.

Why are we so sure on Father/Son and Trotters running decoys? And do we really confirm the F3?"We" can never be sure, the info is based on eyewitness's and videos/photos posted in the forum... follow the links next to the contestants names and you could come to your own conclusion.
