24 Clocks Back In November 23 with "Prequel"

Oh yeah — 24! Fox has set a Nov. 23 air date for the two-hour movie that will bridge the gap between Days 6 and 7. Filmed partially on location in South Africa, the "prequel" finds Jack Bauer battling an international crisis (yea!), while back home, the United States prepares to inaugurate a new president.

"We're excited about the prequel because it explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24," says executive producer Howard Gordon. "Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone’s commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans."

The plan for Day 7, which was first detailed many months and one long strike ago, seems rather intact, with all of the new or returning cast members still on board. That includes (spoiler alert) Carlos Bernard (as Tony Almeida), Cherry Jones (President Allison Taylor), Colm Feore (First Gentleman Henry Taylor), John Billingsley (security specialist Michael Latham) and "FBI agents" Janeane Garofalo, Annie Wersching, Jeffrey Nordling and Rhys Coiro. Chloe and Bill are still around, too, though CTU isn't.

We have a 24 folder? Boy, before I got obsessed with Amazing Race, my obsession was on 24, until S6 which really sucked, but the Redemption trailer looks fantastic.

Yeah that.

They had quite a lot of action imo & i really enjoyed the show.  The white house stuff is neccessary for some background for the action happening outside the House.  Now if CTU returns, remember who Jack is.  He's the GUY who operates undercover as directed by the Prez.  At least that's my understanding.

I agree that the first ep was to set up for future eps.  Monday night will probably have more action, but there will still be the setting up stuff.

The show was another sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat to me!  Loved it!

I want Chloe baaakkk!  She will be, but wonder if she'll be there as a permanent or just makes short appearances?

Hi everybody!! :waves:

24 is ONNNNNNNNNNNNNN!! (Well sort of, so far it's a little slow on the uptake.)

Ok, I'm officially confused. I coulda sworn that the guy who was murdered/killed himself was a FRIEND of HRC's son and NOT her son. But now, it appears that he indeed was her son and the hot lingerie model/girlfriend has some part in what happened. What did I miss? Do I need to go back and watch that tedious part again from November?

Tony is alive, even though we saw him zipped up into a body bag. I'm not too concerned about that, but I'm hoping they bring back Edgar. I'm convinced that even though Tony is unshaven and trying to look like Marwan, he hasn't turned. He's really doing an underground investigation and before long he'll be working with Jack.

I miss CTU and I really miss Los Angeles. I forget, it wasn't totally blown up was it? I know I miss Chloe and Bill Buchanan. Agent Garofalo did a pretty good job on the computer, and she admits she has a sense of humor but she's not Chloe. Chloe would have had those coordinates before Agent Whathisname even asked for them. But Chloe wouldn't have told Agent Whatshisname because she would know that Jack needed cover, at least she would have stalled for awhile.

I just LOVED the dual shooting action by Agent Walker and Jack. What coordination! I really hope she can make it through the entire 24 hours alive because she's GOOD!

What will tonight's episode bring? Can't wait to find out!

Oh one final thought, never EVER EVER talk on the cell phone when driving!

ETA: Please PLEASE 24 writers, don't bring back Kim. Let her live her own life in obscurity!

Excellent grading on the events Ken. I think we see the making of a female Jack Bauer, I was waiting for her to pick up a pen but the using the ventilator was an excellent idea.

I also agree with your grading for the subplot with the First Spouse. Meeting in the open and handing over documents? Never a good idea. Going to the computer room alone, not a good idea either but it worked out for Agent Garofalo this time.

Will the documents make it back to the WH? Iffy. Jack and Tony working together, excellent! I knew he hadn't turned bad. I'm undecided about Agent Garofalo's computer skills but she's growing on me, she defeated Chloe's hack for a little while.

Why do people call me on the phone during 24? I do not know! (Even worse, why do I answer!)   :umn:

I agree Ken, she'll be saved.

Wednesday, I caught a little preview during AI, it looks like Jack and possibly Bill Buchanan are in the Oval Office talking to Madame President. I've searched the 24 site but can't find this particular clip, darn it!  (:;)

Your grade is right...

You mention the van, a big yellow one at that! How do they get these things! And YELLOW??

About the First Man, Gentleman spouse.  Rule #1 on 24, NEVER believe your agent is on your side when he says you need to go to someone's apartment. BAD sign. I'm thinking Samantha will somehow foil the plot if indeed she is the Kim of this season. But if the President's spouse doesn't make it, that's fine with me.

Hillinger's role, blah. If he's got something with the hot blond, what was the deal of getting his wife's plane down faster? Makes no sense. Filler, that's what it is, merely filler...

I missed the silent clock, I better go look again. What DOES that mean....

LOL at Puddin.. it's not THAT bad...

The silent clock was used at the end of S1 when Jack's wife was killed by Nina and usually in death scenes, but this was a surprise. At my old hangout, the 24 Community, we used to debate the silent clock. Some thought Tony should have gotten one when he "died" in S5. I guess the producers hand it out when they feel necessary.

ACK! NO! I don't want the first female Jack to die!!  :ascared

Quote
Silent clockFrom Wiki 24

The silent clock from the end of Day 6

A silent clock is a rare event on 24 that features a clock with no beeping at the end of a scene or episode. It is used to punctuate highly emotional scenes, often surrounding the death of a significant character.

Because of often drastically varying circumstances, as well as the infrequency of the silent clock, there does not appear to be many patterns for use of the device. Some silent clocks are accompanied by noises in the foreground or background, while others have faint music underneath.

To date, only one silent clock has occurred before the end of an episode.

The effect of the silent clock could be accentuated by the split screen that is put in place immediately prior, depending on the circumstances. Upon the death of Teri Bauer, the screen was split between the scene of Jack cradling Teri's body alongside black and white clips from Day 1 12:00am-1:00am. Immediately preceding Ryan Chappelle's death, there was no split screen, possibly to create the expectation that the episode was not quite over and he would somehow escape, until the appearance of the silent clock, confirming that he had indeed died. By contrast, there was also no split screen leading to the final moments of Day 6 5:00am-6:00am, but instead of heightening tension, this omission was presumably to preserve the tenderness of the farewell between Jack and Audrey.

The silent clock following David Palmer's assassination attempt at the end of Day 2 and the silent clock during Day 7 as Renee is being buried alive were used to create tension and highlight the seriousness of the situation. Both clocks are accompanied by the sound of breathing.

The silent clock has been used eight times; once per season in Seasons 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7, once in 24: Redemption twice in Season 2, and not at all in Season 4.

I don't think she's dead. That's why I wrote that there would be a lot of debate on the 24 message boards. I believe you're going to see Agent Walker next week. In fact, I think Jack and Tony are going to give her some room to escape.

I don't think she is either, they want us to suffer and worry. She's the only bright spot so far in what has been a boring season. The FBI didn't even get a perimeter set up around the safe house, have they ever heard of calling the PD for backup?  :knuckles:

Glad you have a good DVR Ken, ours decided to skip the part where Samantha Roth met her maker, we had rewound,  hit play and it went right past that and straight to a commercial, but allowed us to watch every excruciating moment of the F.W. going over the balcony.  (:;)

Bill, Jack and Chloe, excellent team. Tony, dunno yet. I'm not convinced Emerson is dead.  :umn:

He's really the one thing that is dragging down 24 this season. Most everything else is ok. Now the Marika/Dubaku storyline is going to drag things down, I just know it.  :groan:

He's a weenie for sure.

Marika's sister should be happy that she will have unexpected visitors. The Dubaku kill list is much larger than Jack's so far. It's too much to hope that Ike will show up at the apartment in time for Jack and Jackie to arrest him, we have too much time to kill. (Ike! Who knew!)

On another note, I just don't trust that creepy Sean, what was he staring at on his computer, he wasn't playing SuDoku.  :stare

Have to agree with the grade.

Marika   :killme:

Dubaku villain rank 100%

There are so many loose ends this year.. Sean for one. He is able to tap into Larry's phone, issue an arrest warrent and do it while Janis is snooping.

Larry's car is wrecked and abandoned in the middle of an intersection, did his friend from the D.C. Metro clean that up too? (Not to mention how did he know the address since Agent Walker didn't give it to him.)

It's 24 and Jack Bauer. It's getting much better as Jack gets up to speed.

It's typical 24. They raise issues then drop them like a hot potato. I've come to expect it from the writers.

Post by: TexasLady on February 17, 2009, 04:26:10 PM
We're picking up speed now, if Chloe gets in a bind with Janis or Sean, Morris can pitch in as well.

I was thrilled to see retired agen Aaron Pierce!   :wohoo:

Another loose end is Tony. We can hope that the First Whatever doesn't make it and tie that loose end up with the autopsy.

Here's my grade (http://www.fangsbites.com/2009/02/fangs-bites-grade-for-24-season-7-hour_23.html). There was no need for Rosa at the hospital and Walker slapping Jack was not good acting. Other than that, not bad.

Ken: Your grade is right on.

Random thoughts:

Blond Mole... Erika, we never even knew your last name.

FBI computers: I want one of these, my hard drives never reformat that fast!

Ethan: I don't trust Ethan.

Mrs. President Lady, you should allow your daughter to leave the White House and walk to the hospital because if she gets lost, it's all good! Obviously she has all of your husband's bad traits but fortunately not his chin.

Also Mrs. President, you have to THINK about helping Jack? He found the secret super-dooper thingy that would have controlled every computer in the country including coffeemakers and DVRs. He just saved your husband. (Minus a finger but he has 9 more doesn't he?) Saved Kidron Ohio from poison gas, got rid of one SS bad guy, and finally has Dubaku in the same hospital as your husband. (As far as we can tell anyway because hospitals all look the same don't they?)

President's Spouse. I hope you have a long and invisible recovery in ICU, no visitors allowed. (Or TV cameras.) On second thought, your daughter should be the exception to the rule about no visitors.

We knew that Chloe was on to Sean, she had her eye on him and no one can defeat Chloe by trying to reformat!

Sean, even I who never studied evidence collection or CSI know that you should have put the gun in Erika's hand when you shot your self in the arm! Ever hear of gun powder residue? Oh, and holding rooms are really never that secure. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing for your future.

Honestly Larry, how did you get your job in the FBI? Does security clearance or need to know mean anything to you? Never mind orders from the President...

To my eye, it looks like the same doctor operating on the First W is treating Dubaku.  ???

Eh?? Why the hostility to Tony Jack?  This is the redemption episode.. he deserves it too!

At least one more season! But don't kill him off!   (:;)

24 to get eighth season

PA Entertainment

Kiefer Sutherland's 24 character Jack Bauer gets to live another day!

The hit show's executive producer Howard Gordon has told E! that there will be an eighth season of the series.

"We're gearing up for a May start date," he said. "I'm with the writers now just putting our heads together, coming up with an idea. Unless we fail to come up with an idea that's satisfactory, you'll see an eighth season."

However, the producer also hinted that the eight season could be Jack Bauer's last, despite rumours of a possible post series movie.

"We may decide ultimately if there's not a movie [story] worth telling, Jack may see his last day on television," he said. "He could die in the series. I think that's possible."

 :umn: :ascared :umn:

I am relying on your fine summary of the first hour Ken, because we were unable to get TV coverage until late in the first hour.    (:;)

Aaron is shot! Bill smacked around and that despicable brute actually hit the President on the face!

Where is Tony? We know he isn't nearly as good as Jack but at least he isn't in the WH!

And  Senator Mayer, who has a treasonous aide is now yelling at Jack for opening the door? I hope Jack accidentally shoots him in the thigh!

Oh my oh my oh my!!! This is a fine mess but Jack will find a solution. He always does!

Are you sure that the second hour shouldn't be A +++?

Hopefully sooner.

"SPECIAL" Agent Larry Moss is a prime example of the Peter Principle, he lacks the skills of a dog catcher. Where did he train, Mayberry?  (Umm Agent Moss, when the sound went out in the room and the video went into a loop, didn't you wonder why? Why didn't you have someone close to the door, like just in case dangerous Jack went on a rampage?)

On another note, Mrs. Lady President  is wearing thin on me.... I hope we get a reprieve from her trials and tribulations as well.  (:;) She needs a long vacation at Camp David. In fact, it would be a good story line, invasion of Camp David! Toxic Fire ants... or are there underwater caverns under the grounds? Hodges could aim one of his mysterious weapons that way..

One site thinks the woman Dr. Sunny Macer. I'm not finding her name, Christina Chang, listed in the credits at IMBD but maybe she's just not listed yet. It would make sense, she  was in S3 and 4. What's funny is that they give Asian actors Western character names. Christina Chang played Dr. Macer. Agent Tom Baker was played by Daniel Dae Kim, now Jin of Lost.

Whoohoo!!

Snippet:

Sutherland says he's on for 8th '24' season

By MIN LEE – 10 hours ago

HONG KONG (AP) — Kiefer Sutherland will be back to play Jack Bauer for an eighth season of the hit counterterrorism drama "24," but the show's longevity will depend on its writers, the actor said Tuesday.

The 42-year-old said "24," currently in its seventh season, will start shooting its eighth in May. He spoke during an interview in Hong Kong to promote the new 3-D animated movie "Monsters vs. Aliens," in which he voices the character of General W.R. Monger.

Sutherland, whose gritty portrayal of the counterterrorism agent has made Bauer an iconic character, said he's committed to the show that's revived his career.

"If I was going to liken '24' to a girlfriend, '24' has been really good to me. And I need to be really good back," Sutherland said.

BAH!! I thought Greg was going to turn on Hodges, I was completely fooled!

You can't think about this show too much because it will drive you mad without even being exposed to WMD. For instance, last week the helicopter lifted the device up up and away, how did they get it out of the truck? Did the truck have a retractable opening in the top?  Too bad I erased it from the DRV already. Tonight is Larry on the ground but still in the air?

My hubby believes in Jack. He says Jack will get up from the floor, won't die and will go get Hodges. At the moment I'm devastated with Jack collapsing and have to wait another week to see if he was just suffering from low blood sugar because he hasn't had a thing to eat all day, or is this it! We can't have a whole new season with Jack dying can we?  :knuckles:

I'm not sure it deserves your grade Ken.. I think maybe one letter lower!

Oh! I apologize to Tony, he can fight his way out of a paper sack. I hope he deals with that little creep Greg and makes him retract his statement! He certainly gave him an evil look!

Edited to fix gibberish.

Since Keifer signed for another season, we know that he will somehow survive. Besides, Dr. Macer was able to find that Michelle survived the virus in the hotel in S3, Jack will beat this.

However, the episode was too slow. We need a few firefights next week.

We need more action, that's for sure! I wonder, Jack was in Sangala, maybe he will have immunity because he was exposed to remnants of the WMD there so he'll just get sick but not die. We can't have 8 hours left with no Jack!

'24': Anil Kapoor of 'Slumdog Millionaire' to star in season 8

Categories: TV Biz

Anil Kapoor has been cast as a series regular in the forthcoming eighth season of 24. Kapoor -- who played game show host Prem Kumar in Slumdog Millionaire -- will star in the Fox drama as a Middle Eastern leader who's on a peacemaking mission in America.

Or maybe it's this! Prion.

Scientists found the infectious agent was a prion, a misfolded version of the PrP protein found clumped together in brain cells. Brain matter in PrP-infected animals takes on a spongy appearance, lending the condition its formal name, bovine spongiform encephalitis (BSE).

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/04/090402124320.htm

Jack's brain will not allow misfolded proteins!

ETA: I think Jack fainting is a ploy. He wants to go find the bio-weapon and he can't if he's stuck at FBI. Walker will figure it out and go with him or follow him. He can't be sick with 8 hours to go!

I blame last season on Rena Sofer the Showkiller who played Marilyn Bauer. Rena has killed many a show, Melrose Place, Coupling, Dirty Sexy Money, Blind Justice, to name a few. Some say Heroes hasn't been the same since she's been on it. Thank goodness the producers of 24 came to their senses and didn't bring her back. Otherwise, this season might have been the death knell of the show.

Poor Jack! I find myself wanting *** to come back because she can save you Jack. What a state of affairs this is!.   :'(

I've beeI hope that n thinking about SS Agent Aaron Pierce. He's been brought back for a reason. What do Y'all think? He didn't look too approving when Olivia left the hotel room after her rendezvous.  He's helped Jack before will he do it again? Is there a sub plot waiting to be revealed? ???

I hope we see Chloe and Morris as well. Morris did what Janis couldn't and did it in about 5 seconds, obviously we'll need more help soon... Janis isn't Chloe by a long shot.

I forgot to comment on Larry. RIP Larry. You did the best you could considering the Peter Principal, being promoted way past your ability.

I don't know what to say about Tony, he was good then bad, then good then bad. Why would he blow up the missiles but kill Larry. It's so confusing. Was Larry bad and now Tony's acting bad but he's really good? Or was he good but now he's really really bad killing Larry. And then good/bad Tony shoots himself, how will he do whatever it is he's supposed to do when he shoots himself in the thigh. Only Jack is supposed to do that. I wouldn't count on Tony too much, Starkwood villain, you might have to escape on your own.

On another message board, someone said he thought that Tony could go rogue again and damn, he was right. I should have listened. For a bit, I looked for signs, but after Tony got into Starkwood and was duped by Greg Seaton, I thought he was on the up and up. But now, I have no idea what to believe. When Nina turned, she turned and never came back.

Now has Tony been working for Hodges all along or is he doing another secret operation? This is going to be really interesting.

Will the rest of the season be Tony vs. Jack? Hmmmm.

Well maybe it will be Jack vs Tony. I do recall Jack being short with Tony about giving himself up and I thought it was strange considering they had just been working together. On another site, they think he didn't really smother Larry but had chloroform in his palm which he got from the backpack and he's nearly dead but not dead. (Wouldn't that cause a problem when Larry comes too in the hospital?) ???

We know there are more people in on the plot since Hodges sneered in Mrs. President's face. I need to replay the preview if the DVR caught it to see what is supposed to happen next week. Missed it because of a phone call.

You better check that other site out again Ken, we need answers!

More questions than answers... ???

Kill the last few seconds of the first video if you don't want to see the Sprint ad. On the Sprint cell preview the writer says, paraphrasing, 'We now know that Tony is the  bad guy but in the next episode, Jack and Tony work side by side, will Jack figure it out.'

I think Janis is up to no good, she asks too many questions. Greg is still suspect, how does Mrs. President Lady know him?

Is Larry really dead? Why would Tony try to help him, then smother him. Who is that bad guy and how does Tony know him. In the first clip someone named Matt calls Hodges favorite lawyer. Who is "Matt?"  Some is waiting at the lawyer's door, but then we see her talking to Hodges.... (or is it a lookalike?)

I read in Entertainment Weekly that in the upcoming episodes “Tony finds time for some nookie.” Explain.
Well, I wouldn’t say he finds ‘time for nookie.’ I would say that there’s a character that is revealed who Tony's involved with. Not a familiar face, someone new.

From Michael Ausiello, Entertainment Weekly, March 6, 2009

As a new population-decimating threat is revealed, Jack gets a visit from his cougar-loving little girl, Kim, who reappears sans cougar but plus husband and daughter; Tony finds time for some nookie; and the prez's daughter emerges as 24's most ruthless villainess since Sherry Palmer. Oh, and more familiar faces will die, but you pretty much figured that, right?"

Husband and daughter??   Do we have time for all of this right now and the couger?

I like this prediction!

Quote
Question: Will Annie Wersching be back next season on 24? I hope so. The Jack-Renee dynamic is one of my favorite things about this season. --Josh
Ausiello: Not only is she coming back next season, but exec producer Howard Gordon tells me that "some part of her past will be necessary in the context of the next crisis." Gordon also confirms that Cherry Jones' President Taylor will return for the Big Apple-set Day 8. "Cherry truly defined this character and fashioned our first truly aspirational President since David Palmer," he says. "She brought an emotional weight and intelligence that exceeded even our expectations."

RFF did NOT get an exclusive but EW's Ausiello did.

Exclusive: '24' moving to New York!

Apr 14, 2009, 07:21 PM | by Michael Ausiello

After six seasons in Los Angeles and one in D.C., Jack Bauer is taking his one-man show to Broadway!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that 24 will be relocating to New York next season -- at least on screen. (The show will still be primarily shot in Los Angeles, with some NY location footage mixed in.)

Production on Day 8 gets underway next month, but already details are emerging. In addition to the move to the Big Apple, CTU will make a comeback under the leadership of a new, yet-to-be-cast male character by the name of Brian Hastings. Described as an MBA type with a razor sharp intellect, Hastings will be joined by two new twentysomething agents (one male, one female), as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub's returning Chloe.

As previously reported, Slumdog Millionaire's smarmy game show host, Anil Kapoor, is joining the cast as Arman Hashemi, a Middle Eastern leader on a peacemaking mission in the U.S. Casting is underway for the roles of his brother and wife.

Rudy, just as Larry was beginning to be more interesting he's killed! (Or seriously harmed but could he have survived his wounds from the gun shot?) It was gruesome watching him dying.  Scringing is right!

What do you think? Has Tony gone rogue again? I think not, but he is still after someone bigger. Someone on a blog suggested he is looking for a cure for Jack, but that makes no sense, why would he kill Larry?

It looks like Olivia is going to have a bigger role which makes Ken happy and I suspect it will carry over into Day 8. It's middle of the night right now, how much trouble can she stir up in the next few hours.  ;) Mrs. President Lady must stay in office as well. (I hope she divorces the First Whatever or he goes to a long term rehab facility!)

Surely, a manly character could've been cast for First Gentleman!  He's a wimp, and they're a mismatch!  Maybe he'll kick the bucket.  Wish it could've been him dying instead of FBI's Larry.  But then Pres Taylor would be distraught & who knows where the story would've gone in that case!

First, Tony tells the guy who stole the canister for him to stay put.

Next, Kim tells Renee she's not going to try to help Jack with the experimental treatment.

Third, Walker is informed Moss is dead.

For a transitional episode, it was actually good. The grade (http://www.fangsbites.com/2009/04/fangs-bites-grade-for-24-season-7-hour_20.html).

As far as I can determine, this is the schedule for the rest of the day for Jack, four more weeks, April 27, May 4 and May 11 will be one-hour episodes and a two-hour season finale on May 18.

I want to get to the end of this hour, but I don't want it to end. I am conflicted and need serious mental health intervention.

Slow!! I'll say! I just find it hard to believe Tony has gone rogue.

BTW, Annie Wersching is a great actress! Her performance deserves an Emmy. Watching her in the clip when she finds out Larry is dead is just perfection.
4 hours till showtime.
You can say that again, TL!!  She is a fantastic actress! I was telling a friend, also a 24 fan, that she should win awards.  He agreed and said she's so great, she'll land a huge role after 24!

I don't recall seeing Annie Wersching in other roles.  Not sure if she's new, or I just didn't happen to watch whatever show she was in.

Annie was on General Hospital before this, plus doing some various cameo primetime TV appearances. This is her first major primetime TV role.

Now that Annie has become known thanks to 24, this won't be her last prime time TV role, that's for sure.

I watched the Sprint sneak peak this morning, the writers say Chloe brings back CTU at the end of the episode and Chloe takes on Janis. (Haven't found the video online yet.) Jack tells Renee that Tony has gone bad and he blames himself, he knew something wasn't just right.

I've just had a horrible thought.  :umn:  *** is in a taxi.. the way it always happens on 24 if you are in a taxi, you will be hijacked. The bad guys always know where an important character is at any moment and can zero in on them in an instant.

Jack will have to hunt for her while trying to keep Renee from imploding, Tony from exploding, finding the mystery man bent on destroying the government and all the while not dying from Mad Cow disease.

BTW, they won't need ***'s stem cells to save Jack, they probably saved the umbilical cord when the baby was born, and are frozen. So end of problem saving Jack without chancing doing anything harmful to ***

(Note to writers, no one reads what I say so don't change the script about the saving Jack part..)

I have been waiting for that moment when Kim is taken from the taxi and becomes "Kim-in-Peril" again. I know it's coming. There's nothing I can do about it, but I fear that's what's coming.

Where did the rest of my sentence go? (Should have been: Why couldn't there be a cougar on the FBI grounds???)

I will soldier on while we wait for TarAsia's grade for tonight's episode! I believe Tony is still good while acting horribly bad, so he can find the people behind the bio-weapon including the big guy himself. He's found the go-between woman/moderator.  If he was truly TRULY rotten to the core, he would have killed Jack but he knows Jack will figure it out and come after him. (Or I could be all wrong!)

With the preview, I don't know what to make of Hodges throwing the papers on the floor, did Olivia draft them wrong? ??? Also, in a masterpiece of plot writing, someone uses a piece of a broken mirror as a weapon on someone, we don't know who... yet!

Excellent episode tonight!

Amen!!  Loved that part!
And Janis can really act her part!   At first, I was a little anxious about her b/c I felt they were trying to make another Chloe out of her.  And no way can that be.  Chloe is Chloe, top notch for her part!

It took me awhile to adjust to Janis and her acting.

I have to say that Janis/Janeane Garofalo has grown on me as an actress. I'm like you, it took me awhile to adjust to her but she's perfect for the part.

What do you think? Has Tony gone rogue/evil, no turning back? Or is he still hunting for the bad people?

ARGH!  the First Whatever is back and he looks quite spiffy, you'd never know it was touch and go only an few hours ago.  :groan:  (I'm waiting to see if his recuperative powers have restored his finger. (s) (I forget, he is so last century for me.)

I nearly cried along with Chloe when she found out about Jack.

It's so 24! Why is it whenever there is a bad guy who needs to help with information, someone always kills them??? And Hodges? He was toast (literally) the minute he went out the door. Could see that coming a mile away.

I replayed the preview for next week several times but forgot to notice why Kim/aka *** showed up again. Hopefully to catch her plane. She's had enough time for that taxi to drive to NY to catch her plane hasn't she? (Sorry Ruday...I should have warned you....)

Do we think Aaron is on to Olivia? Sure seems like it! You're right Ken, he was looking quite suspiciously at Olivia!

I would say the latter!  Geez, I sure can't imagine Aaron falling for devious Olivia.  Now Martha Logan...was a different deal.  She knew what her devious hubby prez was doing to our Country and her.  Aaron saved her from being put in the looney bin by Logan (didn't he? as least that's what I recall) .
Anyway, Aaron & Martha fell for each other.  I loved them together, but Aaron & OLIVIA?  Nooo way! :groan:
He appeared suspicious of her by his expression last episode.  Hope he busts her!  :knuckles:

Didn't occur to me Aaron might've ordered the hit on Hodges.  Figured it was one of the bad guys Hodges was involved with...

What IF... Olivia wasn't the reason Hodges got a roaring goodbye, what if the evil doers ordered the hit? But Olivia now has put herself right in the middle of it. Perhaps Aaron will have to extract her from this mess and that's why he's peeved. He's got one arm tied up, no sleep, probably didn't feed the cat before he left home and now this!

We had to go to a grandson event last night, so watched 24 really late. (Which probably was a good thing because watching  ***
A: being smart enough to notice someone following her but...
B: finding the only people in the entire airport who are part  of the Bad Guys Top Secret Organization... and
C:  being in danger yet again! made me want to harm myself severely. Fortunately this morning I only want to harm HER! (24 writers, please I beg you, understand that recycling is fine for plastic and paper but not plots!!)
D: In all these years of having been in danger, couldn't she have learned at least one Kung Fu move?

Sigh...

Ken, we think Jack was behind a glass wall in the Hazmat van and wasn't exposed to the deadly Piron/Mad Cow gas. But if he wasn't, perhaps a double dose will cure him. Who knows, stranger things have happened on 24!

The middle part was a muddled part, but it ended better. Olivia putting herself into a big mess! What does Martin want from her? We don't know. Aaron!!! TarAsia got it right! He's on to you Olivia and you are about to pay big time and Ethan will also make you sorry you forced him to resign!

Even half dead, Jack has the strength to beat the bejesus out of Tony. Tony has to stay alive so we understand why he did what he did. (Evil Tony, you are much more effective than the good Tony!)

Two hours left to wrap up loose ends. Can't wait.

I forgot to post this, a 4 year old girl is being cast for the next season, so it seems that Jack's granddaughter will be part of the plot line in some fashion.

Found it:

"24" has been ordered for an eight season and casting calls have been conducted. One particular important character which will be introduced next season is a 4-year-old girl named Teri who is described as Kim Bauer's daughter.

I'm glad President Lady President did the right thing. Let Mr. First Whatever leave in a snit and keep him out of the WH and out of the plot and best of all, out of our sight! Getting Henry Taylor off my TV is a good thing. I don't ever want to see that character again.

With next season being in NYC and Jack, Renee and Kim coming back, I like where we're headed and into what is most likely the last season.

I like that Tony survived. I also liked the mention of my beloved Michelle. I wish they hadn't killed her off. But an angry Tony in jail is better than a dead Tony.

Chloe was muted this season, hopefully she'll be better next season.

It looks like it will be the final season. Since Wilson, the bad man goes all the way back day wise, it looks like they will tie up all these loose ends. Chloe had a better role in the first part of the day but they didn't give her much to do in the final few hours.

The only time I liked Henry was when he was being operated on, he wasn't talking and I didn't have to listen or look at him and I'd like to keep it that way!  (:;)

Tony wasn't all bad, or all good but at the moment he's nutz! I hope they clean him up a bit as well.

From EW:

'24' exclusive: Hail to the (new) chief!

May 20, 2009, 02:12 PM | by Michael Ausiello

According to my watch, it's time for the second piece of casting on 24's eighth season!

Chris Diamantopoulos -- best known as Debra Messing's gay BFF on The Starter Wife -- has been tapped to play the series regular role of Rob Weiss, the argumentative and tough new Chief of Staff to President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones). He replaces Taylor's current C.O.S., Ethan Kanin, who snatched his job back in last Monday's finale after the prez's psycho daughter, Olivia, was taken into federal custody.

As I previously reported, Day 8's action will switch from Washington D.C. to New York City and center on an assassination plot against a visiting foreign leader (Slumdog Millionaire's Anil Kapoor, the new season's first piece of casting).

Bonus piece of trivia free of charge: Diamantopoulos is married to Ugly Betty's sublime Becki Newton. On second thought, that little nugget is worth at least $50. Pay up.
